4.25 stars I enjoyed the writers other book "2 busy 4 love" that I decided to read her other books and began with this one, it was equally enjoyable and full of adventure and laughter and comedy that will leave you smiling all the way through the story follows Molly who is on her way to her sister's wedding but she have to get her wedding dress from Paris and bring it to Venice, but what seems like a simple thing turns out to be an adventure full of detours and revelations Molly was really relate-able to me and there were so many sweet moments .. I would recommend it if you are in the mood for something light like a movie
Adorable, wacky, loopy, fell good book. This is more on the road story that has a few slap stick comedic moments. I would love to see this made into a movie.
The ending is everything AWWW and full of puppies and rainbow goodiness. Great big smile when I finished reading.
Perfect for teens and adults alike. Also gives some insight on the fashion industry.
All Dressed Up by Lucy Hepburn is a Diversion Books publication and was released in August 2013. I received a DRC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Molly is on her way to Italy for her sister, Caitlyn's, wedding. With a romantic stop in Paris, Molly is sure her long time boyfriend, Reggie, is about to propose. Instead, he breaks up with her, leaving her alone in Paris while he jets back to the U.S. for his big break as an actor. Before Molly can digest what just happened, her sister calls in tears. Her dress will not arrive until the day of the wedding. So, Molly volunteers to pick the dress up for her on her way to Venice. Caitlyn's unspoken wariness at that idea has Molly remembering a whole lot of past hurts. Caitlyn thinks Molly will damage the dress or screw up somehow. So, already feeling defensive, Molly becomes a nervous wreck when she arrives to retrieve the dress and it's not there. Once located, the designer's assistant, Pascal, is assigned to accompany Molly and the dress to Venice for a personal fitting. On the plane Molly meets a nice guy named Simon. The two get off to a rocky start when Simon disses the fashion industry, which just happens to be Molly's career and passion. But, when the plane has to make an unexpected landing and Molly winds up stranded with Simon and Pascal, and the dress makes yet another detour, the three of them get to know each other a little better. This book is hilarious. The dress goes through so many obstacles it's insane. Simon just wants to get to Venice, but gets caught up in Molly and Pascal's dramas. So much so, that even though it goes against his personal principles regarding the fashion industry, he will do anything for Molly and that ridiculous wedding dress everyone is so hung up on. All these issues has Molly behaving like a bridezilla herself. She desperately wants her sister to have the wedding of her dreams, despite her personal reservations about the marriage and her jealousy over Caitlyn's close relationship with their mother. When Molly meets up with her mother she finally has the chance to get some of these things off her chest. But, a really serious situation develops that has Caitlyn and Molly realizing that there are more important things than big weddings and designer dresses. While Caitlyn still gets her happy ever after, what about Molly? Is there a future with Simon or will Reggie have a change of heart? This book had the perfect blend of romance, comedy, and drama. Nothing was over done. It came out just right. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves romantic comedies, chick lit, and contemporary romance. This was a really fun book that deserves an A.
All the characters are just super and make sure you can't put the book down. The different settings are also great. The writing style is relaxed and easy, so you can read the book without any problems!
Ridiculously silly far fetched story filled with missed connections, misunderstandings, betrayal, family and a multi country road trip, but so much fun. Plus there are HEA's all around! The narration for the audiobook was wonderful.
After reading and enjoying, "2 Busy 4 Love", I threw myself on this novel. I expected a lot especially some great and fun romance...
If I've found a good dose of humor in the disasters following the wedding dress given to Molly, I also found lengths in the events. There are too many disturbing events that take places. The situations and the scenrio seem improbable. Especially, at the Sion's airport ...
However, the characters are real gems. A mixture of stereotypes, affectionately proposed, that delight the reader. Lucy Hepburn knows how to fill of sparks and life her characters to make them touching and endearing.
I also enjoyed the way the author mixes family dynamics and serious issues in her adventures. As for the familly bonds, if this was a treat, as touching as frustrating, in "2 Busy 4 Love" in this tale, I really wanted to strangle the bride for her lack of respect for her sister. If at the beginning the Bridezilla act is fun, in the end I just wanted to slap her ... Not a good sign if you want to attack a fictional character! Lol! Fortunately, Caitlin becomes human again after arriving in Bologna.
As for the love story with Simon, the fact that Molly has just been dumped by Reggie makes the scenario less romantic. Even if you feel the attraction. But, Simon is a treat. He is a hero of modern times, a great gentleman, I would have liked more tender moments between the two heros. And Pascal and Sasha were awesome too!
The story is interesting and tender, but I had the impression that the author had tried too hard. However, there are so many twists and turns that you do not get bored and the characters are delicious.
A romance a little too much but super cute. You will have a entertaining reading time...
I loved the story. The idea of a journey to bring the wedding dress to her sister, I liked it ever since I read the story on Netgalley .
Molly is a fashion lover. She loves the haute couture, especially the French haute couture. Molly's sister asked her to bring in Venice her wedding dress, remained in Paris for some unkonwn reason (you will understand the reason at the end of the book). Molly is in Paris for a vacation before her siste's wedding with her boyfriend. From Paris, Molly leaves without her boyfriend, with the dress and Pascal, personal assistant of the designer of Molly's sister wedding dress. They start their journey full of adventures to get to Venice. They are not alone. On the plane between Paris and Venice, Molly meets Simon, a movie director who knows nothing about haute couture and he doesn't know anything about fashion. Even Simon is headed to Venice to participate in the Venice Film Festival. Our three characters will travel from Paris to Venice, passing through Sion, Domodossola, Milan and, finally, not Venice. The adventure ends in another Italian city and you will discover why reading the book.
At the beginning I struggled to read the book. The story is a bit slow at the beginning, but then starts to be fun when the three arrive in Sion. We see Molly having problems with her sister, who has turned into a Bridezilla . Then discover the reasons for the behavior of her sister and their past.
I liked it and I would recommend it to those who, like me, will enjoy reading about their adventures.

Molly is on the way to her big sister's wedding, but on the way her boyfriend wants to stop at Paris. So, Molly thinks he is going to propose, but in actuality he breaks up with her to pursue his dream of becoming a big shot photographer in Los Angeles. Caitlin, Molly's sister calls in hysterics because her dress will not be at her wedding in time so Molly offers to pick up the dress and bring it with her. Caitlin at first doesn't want to agree because Molly doesn't have the best track record with dresses, but because she doesn't have any other option she agrees. Murphy's Law plays a big part in this book; because anything that can go wrong does for Molly. Her boyfriend of 4 years breaks up with her, she goes to pick up her sister's wedding dress and it is nowhere to be found, the dress assistant has a break down on the plane, the plane has to have an emergency landing, and she almost gets arrested. These are just some of the things Molly goes through to get the Wedding dress to her sister, but she perseveres in the hopes that she won't be known as the family screw up. After all the trial and tribulations she gets the dress to her sister, and misunderstandings are clarified and everyone gets what they deserve.
Overall this was a cute, funny and a little sad read. If you like chick lit this is the book for you. Molly has got to be one of the best sisters in the world.
When her live in boyfriend plans a stopover in Paris for a romantic dinner, Molly assumes that the big proposal will be the dessert. Instead, she gets dumped by the man for a shot at a career in Hollywood and left dateless for her sister’s upcoming wedding. She has no time to mope because her sister calls and commands her to get the wedding dress and bring it to the wedding after there is a courier mix-up and the dress will not be delivered on time. Thus begins the madcap adventure that is All Dressed Up. This is a cute story about a fashion obsessed young woman who has had her life turned upside down and who has to prevail over a series of misadventures to get the wedding dress to the wedding on time. I enjoyed the other characters in the book, bridezilla Caitlin, plane phobic Pascal and especially hunky Simon. Molly’s mother is fairly nonexistent until three quarters through when she enters the story in a big way. The relationship between Molly and Simon starts off on a wrong foot when he disparages Molly’s beloved fashion industry but he proves his worth during the disaster filled trip to get the dress to Caitlin. Molly learns a few truths about her past and present and the possibility of an unimagined future. All in all, It is a sweet but funny story that readers will enjoy as a late summer read.
All Dressed Up also known as the The Great Wedding Dress Caper, is an absolute thrill ride made up of quirky characters, madcap detours, laughter and family. Its about fulfilling your dreams and the road (or wrong turn) you take to get there. Molly Wright, is in the city of Paris, a dream come true for a fashion design graduate like her. Along with her long time boyfriend, they were on their way to attend her sister's celebrity wedding in Italy. Paris was supposed to be something special. Instead Molly has been dumped, is alone and oh yes, has found herself agreeing to bring her sister's wedding dress to Venice. No one can say "No" to Bridezilla. The dress, made by the famous designer Delametri Chevalier, was picked up and along with Pascal, Chevalier's assistant, they were on their way. Well it wasn't really that simple. There were several detours, mishaps, and overall hilarious events along the way. This book was highly entertaining and funny! I love Pascal! The writing was vivid, both with the description of the background and the characters themselves. If emotions could be visualized, Lucy Hepburn has succeeded in doing so thru her words. This book is definitely more plot driven but the characters themselves were all memorable. Overall, All Dressed Up was a funny, insightful and heartwarming novel.
I found this book quite frustrating as a lot of the things that happened that were supposed to be a ‘disaster’ could have been avoided. For example, don’t get on a skiddo and drive down a mountain with the wedding dress strapped to the back if you don’t want something to happen to the dress! I think maybe I was in too sensible a headspace for this book as I don’t usually mind chewing-gum-for-the-brain books which is what this was. However, it was silly for the sake of being silly, which is something I hate. It was apparent Simon thought she was with Pascal because of the pregnant pauses she left which were just too obvious insinuating that she was with him to the casual observer while she was all so innocent in her comments. I think these parts were just badly written to incite a future twist that was just obvious throughout. As for the sister’s lack of trust in Molly being able to get her wedding dress to her, then why didn’t she organise her own courier? If the designers couldn’t get one sorted, and her fiancé was that rich, some couriers exist that will get things to you same day if you throw enough money at them. I suppose, then, there wouldn’t have been a book!

Molly is sure Reggie is going to propose when he surprises her with a trip to Paris while run route to her sister Audrey's wedding. When he breaks up with her she is shocked. But she has to pick up the pieces AND her sisters wedding dress when a snafu causes the dress to not get to Audrey in time.
A series of unfortunate events leads Molly on a panicked adventure with 2 men she's never met before. Pascal and Simon are helping her get to the wedding on time, hopefully with the dress in one piece.
This was a cute book but the romance took backseat to Molly's family issues. I found that part of the book to be more interesting and involving. The last 25% of the book in particular was touching. I really enjoyed the familial interactions in that part of the book.
All Dressed Up was a really fun read! It had lots of humor, a bit of romance, a break up, a wedding, sisters fussing, fashion and some very touching teary moments. In other words, it was a very well written book that had something for everyone.
I loved the characters. The author made them so real that I felt as if I knew them. I would love to meet them again in another book. This was my first book by the author and I plan on reading more of her books.
This was a quick easy read. One that you hate to put down. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a book that will truly entertain you.
* I received a copy of this book through NetGalley and the publisher to read and review. This review is my honest opinion.
This offering from Lucy Hepburn was light, sweet, soft and gentle; despite it all revolving round a frantic race against the clock. The characters (other than the bride and the ex) were likeable. The premise was interesting. The pacing was somewhat uneven for me; the tension of the race against the clock kept getting lost in the sweetness of the budding romance. It wasn't a roller coaster, more like the kid's train ride at the zoo. The settings outlined in the book didn't paint a strong enough picture for me - I wanted more detail. I ranked it 3 stars because it wasn't badly written, I just wanted something more. *I received my copy from NetGalley.com in exchange for an honest review
I love that this book took place in Paris and Venice. I love Europe and love books set there. I loved how detailed this book was. The only thing that I didn't like was how everything kept going wrong with getting the wedding dress to her sister. It almost seemed never ending. But in the end I quite enjoyed this book and found it a fun read.
