Just a little note, to be fair to the book and the author: this book will be edited, so there is a chance that it will get better. If you planning on reading, don't mind my rant. However, I'm not going to read the new version. Good writing, for me, is more than editing and grammatical error-free text..

Now, with that out of the way, I want to punch myself in the face for reading this book.
OMG what a ridiculous book. Stupid and slutty heroine and what-the-f@ck-is-he-all-about hero. There wasn't a single thing I liked about this story. Juvenile writing, underdeveloped characters and confusing plot that had no clear direction where it was heading.
The story starts after heroine escapes her captor (her husband). She makes a life for herself, settles down and meets a guy. She is glad to be free and hopes that he will never find her. But almost every night she wakes up all sweaty, with her hand in her underwear, masturbating, because she dreamt about her ex. WTF? You either afraid of him or you ain't, make up your mind, you slut! The icing on the cake was when the guy started to sleep over and noticed what she was doing. Not only that, she was talking in her sleep asking him do all sorts things to her:
He asked what's the matter and offered her to tell him what was bothering her. She started telling him about her sexcapades with her ex in explicit details, how he bend her over over what furniture and which fingers went where. OMG! And then, every time she was done with the story, she asked him to do the things her ex did to her, because... well, because she is f@cked up (her words).
He was horrified. He is not f@ck-you-against-the-wall type of guy, he is make-love-in-a-missionary-position type of guy. So he was trying to give her massages, was being nice and careful, and the bitch wasn't having it.
But here comes the "best" part - her name-calling her vagege. Brace yourselves :-D.
Then, later, her husband tracks her down. Long story short, one of his buddies pushes her in front of the buss (I think), she gets a brain injury and looses her memory. He brings her with him and keeps telling her that she is his wife and that they are happily married. He starts drugging her and raping her while she's unconscious. She starts playing the role of a good wife "I want to make love to my husband" and all that. Another WTF???
One thing leeds to another, he stops raping her, because she hands him her vagina on a silver platter. Then, suddenly, there is love in the air. I really don't know what happened to that poor fella who was trying to make love to her earlier in the book, because towards the end I was bored and annoyed to no end, and was doing some hardcore skimming.
The story ends with her, her husband and her vagina hand in hand riding into the sunset.
THE END.
I found the book absolutely ridiculous. I do agree with my bestie, Alex ;-), the Underestimated is a Consequences wannabe, because these two stories are very similar. The only differences are the horrible writing and all over the place characters. I'm only guessing here, but I think author read and liked Consequences and wanted to appeal to the fans of Aleatha Roming.
On a positive note - if heroine's vagina gets her own book, I will definitely read it :-D.

So the warning signs in on the Blurb is absolutely correct!!!
This is a dark and somewhat disturbing book and it will make you question your sanity.
Yes this book is long and have a lot of details which I did not mind reading at all.
There was a few grammar errors in the book but it wasn't so bad.
If Morgan thought her childhood was bad, she didn't know it could get a whole lot worse..
When Morgan was an 18year old virgin, her father sold her to a man called Drew for $30 000.
She was forced to marry Drew and live in a huge mansion.
His stunningly handsome and rich. She doesn't need to work, cook, clean. Has someone taking care of her every need at any time....
Sounds heavenly right??
Except that it most definitely wasn't.
Drew was very mean to Morgan when he was around. She was basically a sex Slave for him doing very kinky sick shit.
He would punish her with sex and spankings and sexual instruments.
Morgan would act as the perfect wife when they were in public only to still get sexually abused later.
The thing is... Morgan actually liked all the sick shit Drew did to her. She found herself aroused and she wanted to hate it but her body betrayed her.
6years later.. Morgan finds a way to run away after stealing Drew's money.
She was not Morgan Kelly anymore. She was now Riley Murphy.
Moving to a small town in Misty Bay. Morgan (I mean Riley) starts her life over as a new person.
As time goes on, she slowly stops looking over her shoulder so much scared that Drew would find her.
She has a normal life, she has peace..
That's when she meets Dawson, the town Sheriff.
He is sweet and kind to Riley and as the relationship develops we finally get answers into Morgans former dark life.
Dawson makes love to Riley and its for the first time she's experiencing these feelings.
The thing is, Riley begs Dawson to do sick shit to her but he won't.
He loves and accepts that's she's broken but wants to help her.
Life is perfect for Riley.
Until it isn't anymore...
Riley goes to Vegas and meets up in a car accident only to open her eyes as Morgan Kelly with no memories.
She meets her husband Drew and he takes her home. Not remembering her past, Morgan tries to find her place and ends up falling in love with her husband who for the first time loves her the same.
"I want to spank you, Morgan. Do you want me to spank you?”
"Yes"
"Shhhh,” he said, taking my mouth. I could taste my juices as his tongue entwined with mine. “I’m going to fuck you now"
"You want me to fuck you up the ass, don’t you, Morgan?”
"Yes"
"What the fuck? Who the hell keeps speaking for me?"
Aah now the sick twist comes in...
As the memories resurface Morgan remembers everything, and that she's also Riley.
"Do you think it’s still Stockholm syndrome when you fall in love with the Drew that you didn’t know?”
"Drew, do you have any idea what you put me through? You hit me. You used me for a sex slave. You locked me in that room for days, and then, and then…you made me love you."
Torn between her husband and her new love Dawson; Riley/Morgan has some tough decisions to make.
Yes, you will be frustrated at times and want to shake Morgan/Riley but at the same time you don't blame her.
There is some big shockers which I'm so disappointed at certain people in this book.
Should she hate Drew?
Why isn't love simple?
Who will she choose?
It just isn't...
And the journey is worth the ride!!!!

I was intrigued by this story at first, but then I lost interest as it seemed to drag on and on. Sometimes, a book is so good that you don't want to ever reach the last page and have it end. This was definitely not one of those books for me. The last quarter of the story seemed redundant and the heroine, Morgan, became less and less likable. After the third or fourth flip-flop between Drew and Dawson, I was irritated and over it!
While the book started out with a very dark feel, it completely changed at around halfway through. It was like the author just flipped a switch and suddenly left is right, up is down, and the bad guy is good. What the hell happened??? I love a dark romance, but this one didn't do it for me.
Also, why does it seem that all the bad guy rapists and abusers drop the line, "I already said I was sorry," at some point when they're angry that their victim just can't let it go quickly enough for them! Sorry! Really? Then, they quite skillfully flip the script so that the abuser is actually pitied. After all, the trauma of being reminded of what they've done is too much for their delicate and remorseful souls to bear. Give me a break! (Sorry, just had to get that out! ;))
If Morgan had been more decisive, and not dragged both men along for so long, I might not have had such a bad taste in my mouth after finishing this book. The story had an interesting start and was different from others in this genre. However, the execution left much to be desired in my opinion.

I was encouraged to read this book for a long time. I was told that it was similar to another book that is near and dear to my heart...yes, I saw similarities...but that was it. Underestimated is a unique and twisted love story. Is it a romance? Well, honestly, by definition - YES. However, if you want hearts and flowers, this is NOT your book. If you want to have your mind blown, while enjoying an involved thriller of a story with secrets, corruption, redemption, and not to mention some very hot scenes...then this is it! I'm anxiously awaiting Underestimated Too! I can't wait to find out what Jettie has in store for us!

★★★★☆ 4.5 INTENSE, INTRIGUING, CRAZY ROLLER COASTER RIDE STARS.
This is a very hard book to review without giving too much about the plot away. You just have to have read it for yourself and you will know what I mean. Underestimated was a dark, gritty, emotional, highly emotional story with many twists and turns that I could not stop reading until I knew how it would end.
My only complaints about the story was that it was a thad bit too descriptive and long at times (though that didn't prevent me from enjoying the writing style at all). And I also wasn't a fan of the heroine…I just couldn't relate to her and her reasonings seemed a bit selfish and all over the place at times.
There were a lot of moments that left me confused and feeling like this...
At the same time, that's one of the things I loved most about this book; the fact that you have no idea what's going to happen next and that it keeps surprising you along the way.
Once I finished the book, I felt emotionally exhausted.
BUT I was glad with the way things ended and couldn't have come up with a better solution to the story myself. So, is there a HEA?
The author created a unique, captivating, at times tough to read, yet unputdownable story that will definitely stay with me for a very long time. And now I can't wait to read the sequel - which will be Drew's side of the story (yay!).

There was a lot that was interesting about this book. It certainly managed to throw all sorts of drama at you.
Another review compared it to Sleeping with the enemy meets Consequences. I can definitely see that, although the the last 30% or so was more like some really twisted version of Thoughtless.
I think if maybe Drew's reason for being a psyco made any sense to me at all, I would have enjoyed the book more, despite the ending that I loathed.
I wish the book had ended around the 60% mark. That was the last time I liked Morgan. . It was actually the last time I liked a bunch of the characters. I really thought there was nothing that could make me dislike Dawson, but geez, that turned out to be wrong. honestly, any goodwill I had for the residence of her second home in Maine was obliterated by the last part of the book.
Ok, so overall, interesting premise, with an execution that did not work for me at all. I like to understand why my characters are making the decisions that they are, and I like to feel like what they are doing makes sense in the context of their personality and experience. I can't say I felt that way about anyone in the book. They all seemed to act in ways that were contrary to their natures, and the situations they found themselves in.

UNDERESTIMATED knocked my socks off! It’s a very unique romance that skirts the edge of darkness, but I read a lot of dark stuff, so, just remember that all levels of “dark” are relative . . .
I’ll have to keep things vague in an effort to keep the story exciting and mysterious for everyone. As you probably gathered from the blurb, UNDERESTIMATED is definitely NOT your typical story of “happily ever after,” so if the fairy tale thing is what you are looking for, then move along, because this ain’t gonna be yo thang.
What happens when the man you have only known as a monster turns into your Prince Charming? What about the man you thought was the man of your dreams turns out not to be? Yes, I know, it’s all very confusing but when you are reading the book, it’s really only the emotional aspect that is confusing because I can pretty much guarantee that one minute you will be thinking Run away! He’s a psycho, what are you thinking? and the next minute you might be thinking Hurry the hell up and get naked!
Morgan grew up poor and she had to learn to fend for herself and her younger brother from a very early age. Life was rough, but when her scumbag father sells her to a wealthy man who ultimately turns her into an abused sex slave, life gets worse, real quick. Morgan is determined to take charge of her own destiny and manages to escape captivity.
As Morgan begins to flourish in her new life, I was overwhelmed with happiness for her but I was also on pins and needles as I waited for the other shoe to drop and for all hell to break loose. What happens next was such a shocking turn of events, that I was totally speechless and bewildered with thoughts of where the story might go.
I struggled a bit with Morgan’s character throughout the book, but it wasn’t until the end that I was able to accept her choices with total clarity and actually really like and embrace her character. I tried to put myself in her shoes and think about what I would do and I just didn’t know – I was totally conflicted until the very end. At times, I felt that she was just too stupid to live – in my eyes, at that moment in the book, her decision should have been crystal clear – to me, there was no option and there was just one choice. On multiple occasions, I felt that Morgan was extremely selfish in her relationships with her two love interests, Drew and Dawson – she must have had a puntang made of gold, because they were both chasing her like little puppies at chow time.
Ultimately, I felt that she did the only thing she could have done based on the chain of events that led her down the path she traveled. UNDERESTIMATED was a page-turner. For a long book (about 550 print pages), I flew through it and even got up early this morning so I could finish it before work – now THAT is something, because I am NOT a morning person and who the hell reads dark shit at 5 am? *raises hand*
Author, Jettie Woodruff has a new fan and her name is I ♥ Bookie Nookie! I enjoyed her work so much that I jumped right on into another one of her darkish reads, PLAUSIBILITY… So far, so good! If you check out UNDERESTIMATED, I hope you love it as much as I did.
SIDE NOTES: If I never read the word “vagina” again, it will be too soon. LOL… That would be my 1 area for improvement: NO MORE "STUPID" VAGINA!

There are some lines that should never be crossed and she crossed it and pissed all over that damn line. She would be cut-the-fuck-off! Some might say that Lauren's story was bittersweet. I might say: DEAD TO ME!

There are some lines that should never be crossed and she crossed it and pissed all over that damn line. She would be cut-the-fuck-off! Some might say that Lauren's story was bittersweet. So this book is one you cant get hold of anywhere I originally read it back when it first released and wanted to do a complete reread, personally I'm not sure why it's been banned yes the content is very extreme in places especially some of the flashbacks Morgan experiences at what Drew originally put her through but certainly no worse than what I've read elsewhere.
Underestimated in itself is a twisted messed up angsty read with a massive love-triangle at its centre and anyone who knows me is aware that this is a pet hate of mine, when I first read this I went in blind otherwise I would have probably given it a very wide berth and this love-triangle isn't just a blip it's a massive integral part of the story, Morgan flits back and forth from each man as they both offer her something so different that she loves and wants them for. She's unable to choose and as much as I was ecstatic that Drew was having to work for it not having it just handed to him on a platter I was also equally sorry for Dawson as he didn't deserve the way he was treated one little bit. I felt Morgan seriously devolved during the course of this tale placing her own needs before everyone else's, she started behaving selfishly and trampling over others in the process which is somewhat understandable considering her backstory but is still hardly healthy behaviour or in any way nice it was like Drew had rubbed off on her.
Also, there didn't seem to be any way Drew was ever going to be, in any shape or form redeemable, I was definitely urging Morgan to stay as far away from this psycho as she could, I've seen some toxic behaviour by the anti-hero in my time but he is definitely one of the more extreme examples original Drew before he later decided he loved Morgan was awful, imagine everything you would ever not want in a partner and that's Drew, he's physically and mentally abusive lives to humiliate and degrade Morgan and it was hard to compute how he went from that and then evolved to his present nicer persona and it doesn't matter how much he regretted and felt remorse and guilt at being the centre character in his wife's nightmares he still did it, so it was kind of poetic justice that she played him so well later keeping him on a string while she decided what she really wanted but as much as I was glad that Drew was getting a taste I didn't think Dawson deserved that treatment he'd been nothing but caring and supportive, Morgans rock though I was slightly annoyed that he did seem to kink shame morgan a lot, that really wasn't cool.
But as much as I loved the sweetness of Dawson I was watching with such anticipation Drew's manipulations after the accident that placed his wife back in his care. It was like watching car crash TV and I loved the fact that this time around Morgan seemed to have the upper hand I found it so enthralling and Drew then deserved every minute of thinking he had forever lost the woman that now meant the world to him, talk about not appreciating and knowing what you hold till its gone hindsight is a complete bitch and Drew deserved all of the torture and the uncertainty this provided.
This had so many triggers and is a completely toxic story non-con, dub-con, cheating and physical abuse abound Drew is not a nice man and its hard to fathom how Morgan can ever forgive his treatment of her never mind come to later love him, its an angsty toxic mess but it was also equally fascinating, definitely out of my comfort zone for sure though, This is a story that definitely sticks with you and leaves an impression.

Towards the end I was pretty near grabbing the hammer to my ereader with her indecision on who to choose, but sick me was happy with the outcome!!
Hard book to recommend but well worth the read if you have it in you to walk on the dark side of life and fall in love with the Devil then read this!!

What a whole lot of crap, although the warning was true but it was incomplete. The Author should have written in the warning that if you are looking for this story to make sense you better not read it.
The character of Drew was so incomplete a sadistic rapist who abuses the heroin for 6 years suddenly... is changed into an extra loving husband and a rockstar father ... I was like ... are you S*****g me.
And the Dawson and lauren's story was soooooo forced... just to give the readers a happy ending for him, come on it was bull shit....
Don't even get me started on Morgan, falling in love or not, how can you plan a family or let alone allow a guy to touch you who has abused you physically and sexually not for few months or few years but 6 looonngg years, and then he brought her back and abused her again when she was just recovering from her injuries... what kind of sick shit was it?
How hard is it for Mr. Callaway to talk to her granddaughter and tell her the truth .... she was there for 6 years????
How can you blackmail somebody in marrying with a 18 yr old and not expect him to treat her badly.
And Drew could have humiliated her in ten different ways none of which could have involved making your wife a sex slave.

It was pathetic, downright disturbing, the story didnt make any sense, Morgan and Drew was so poorly sketched, there was no substance in their characters and none of their decisions was logically explained...
Too much explicit sex scenes were described... some places it wasn't even needed ...
Please think twice before reading this book, lot of reviews and sex talk might get you a little eager to know what's in there but honestly you can just escape from lot of stressful reading.
Kudos to author for attempting to write something so Dark but honestly nothing in there made any sense .... even when you said that it might just turn into a love story ... Honestly dude ... Holy Dark Hotness! That was the most erotic, dark, twisted, amazing book I've ever read!!! Just WOW!!! I read the entire thing in a day, and trust me its long, but I couldn't put the damn thing down!

This book was AMAZING! Like top 10 books this year amazing….it was a dark read and I loved every minute of it. I happened upon this book while browsing Amazon’s new releases like I so often find myself doing. I bought it on the day of its release and finished it in one day, which shows how much I loved it because it isn’t exactly on the shorter side. I couldn’t put it down. It was like a train wreck you see coming but can’t seem to find the will to get off at the next stop. I knew it would be dark and intense and I kept reading. This wasn’t your ordinary love story, that’s for sure. There are two “heroes” in this novel, although I would technically refer to one as an anti-hero for the majority of the book…wait actually I would just refer to him as a sadistic ass. I didn’t understand how Morgan/Riley could ever have a hard time choosing between the two male characters but Jettie had me feeling just as torn as her. I secretly was rooting for one guy in particular from the beginning but I don’t want to sway you in any direction before you get the chance to form your own opinions.
In the beginning of this novel, Morgan was just graduating from high school and met Drew when he visited her school as a guest speaker. He was dark, mysterious, sexy and adamant about the fact that he was going to marry her one day. That day came very soon. He essentially bought her from her low life father while they were living in a trailer park. The humiliation started on that very night with a very intimate evaluation before he agreed to take her. Gone was the sweet, sexy man she met at her school and in his place was a man whose anger and resentment sizzled just below the surface.
He brought her to his home and had a judge “marry” them against her will. I say “marry” because essentially there wasn’t even an exchange of vows, only a forced signature with a judge as a witness of their “union”. That was the day Morgan’s life of hell began. She was treated as a sex slave, a possession, an object to be used and abused as her husband saw fit. She was rarely allowed out of the house and when she was she was never allowed to speak to anyone without Drew being in the conversation. Essentially she was a prisoner trapped in a horror of a marriage and no way or plan of escaping. She suffered his abuse and humiliation in silence. His anger was always repeatedly directed at her and she bore the brunt of his unique style of punishment. He saw her as trash and resented everything about her. You are probably wondering why he even married her, right? All things come to those who wait…that’s one of the biggest secrets and revelations of this amazing novel.
Now let’s talk about Dawson. Morgan ran away from Drew after years of torture and abuse at his sick, twisted hands. She stored away money slowly and was able to buy a house in a small little town far away under the name of Riley. Things start to look up for her in this sleepy little town. She makes friends and even meets the Sheriff, Dawson, who has his own share of past hurts but takes an instant liking to the mysterious young woman. He can sense she’s hiding something but lets her tell him on her own time. He is sweet, gentle, loving and wants to start a family with Riley. Riley loves Dawson, but she asks him to do things to hurt her that he cannot do. She is a little broken and doesn’t know how to fix herself. But when she travels back to Vegas, she is involved in an accident that causes her to lose her memory and be placed back in the hands of her husband, Drew.
This is where the story gets interesting. Drew has to play a role of the loving husband while everyone else is watching and while he tries to figure out his wife, who is almost as different as night and day from the woman he married. She is direct, curious, assertive and digging into their past. He has a lot riding on her not remembering the way he used to treat her until he can bring her to heel. But something funny happens while they are on this journey…Drew starts to fall for his wife. Now Drew is scared she will remember their past for a whole new reason….Meanwhile Dawson and her friends have no idea what happened to her and are still searching.
When Morgan/Riley finally remembers who she is she is utterly confused. She is in love with two completely different men. She asks them both for time and goes back and forth between the two of them. At this point it’s clear who I’m rooting for. Who will you root for? The kind, sweet and loving town Sheriff who would never hurt her? Or the Sick, twisted husband who realized the jewel he had and is now in love with his wife, but still likes rough sex?
I absolutely LOVED this book. If you like your books with a love triangle, a little bit twisted, and a lot dark you will love this book too. If you are a fan of Tears for Tess, this book is darker and longer but you will love it, I can promise you that. I really can’t say too much more for fear of ruining the book. Just know that there is continuous action, darkness, passion, chemistry, love, angst, secrets and betrayal. Everything I love in a book…oh and you will cry trust me. It’s a very intense novel and I cannot wait to read more from Jettie Woodruff. I rated this book at 5++++Stars and I also put it in my All-Time Favorites list.

Morgan grew up in poverty in a small West Virginia town. Her father was the town drunk, her mother abandoned her at a crucial age and her brother was placed in foster care as a young child. All Morgan knew was removed from her life. While it seemed as though Morgan was destined to live a meager existence, her life irrevocably changed when Drew Kelly appeared at her high school.
Drew is a dedicated and successful businessman who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. Drew is very sexy and kinky but as his dark past continues to rule his mind and body, he cannot control his tendencies. Driven by revenge, Drew is determined to punish those who had any part of his past.
This story is told from Morgan’s POV with past and present intersecting. The sequence of the chapters adds to the mounting tension and makes for seamless transition. With Jettie Woodruff, there seems to be common themes in her books, but the multi-layered plot and her complex characters always take unforeseen twists and turns. By the time I reached the end of the book, I felt like experienced all emotions between Morgan and Drew, which had some truly hot moments and also some dark hopeless ones too.
For me, this book really focused on how our pasts negatively and positively affect our present relationships. How far can someone be pushed before they snap? Can we change or curb our abusive behaviors? How long before you realize you’ve been underestimated or underestimated someone else? With this series, it is hard to not include any spoilers, but be prepared for some epic turn of events and characters that make you want to cringe at times.
While I am pleased with the ending in Underestimated, there are still some pressing questions that need to be answered, so I look forward to immediately continuing with Underestimated Too, the final book of this duology.

2 stars? 3 stars? IDK.. I'm thinking 2.5 stars but I'll bump it up because I did finish it.
The only real emotion I felt when I got to the end of this book was complete and utter relief. I hate to be harsh, I hate to write a bad review but I hate even more to read a book that just isn't good. It felt like a terrible mix of Consequences and Thoughtless.
The main character in this book, Morgan/Riley, was the most insane, aggravating, ridiculous human being I have ever had the displeasure of reading about. I didn't mind her in the beginning of the book, she intrigued me. I wanted to know why she had run away and I wanted to know the past she had lived through to make her so effin annoying. That was all well and good whilst she was playing that part. And then around the 60% mark or so she turned in to a truly awful version of Kiera(Thoughtess). She was stupid, indecisive, a bit of a whore and an all round annoyance.
Now on to the guys. I'm no stranger to falling for the bad guy and that was no different here. I didn't like Drew straight away, in the beginning he really was nothing but an asshole with absolutely no reason (that we knew of) for his asshole tendencies. He grew on me though and by the end I was rooting for him and ended up feeling sorry for him for the way Mrs Indecisive was treating him.
And then we have the good guy, Dawson. I didn't like him. From the off something just wasn't right about him. He's a sheriff and was more than happy to witness his girlfriend's nightmares constantly? I just didn't buy it, I didn't buy him. I was more than happy when he wasn't in the picture and when he did turn up, I couldn't wait for him to buzz off again like the annoying fly he was.
So, as you can tell, by now I'm really loving it.. or not so much. I have major issues with the writing in this book. It was just plain messy. Now, I'm no writing expert but I found it painful to read through most of this. There were a million and one commas where they really didn't need to be, the shift between past and present was awkward and very confusing, chapters would finish and start in the middles of scenes and the dialogue between the characters made me think they were teens, not in their mid to late twenties.
I really do think the book has good potential but it needs clearing up A TON. It was a stress to read. The plot itself was okay.. I got through it. A lot of it was unrealistic and the last 30% was just plain outrageous. I've seen a lot of people mention that it was like reading two books and it really was. Like I said, the beginning was like Consequences and Truth and the ending was Thoughtless. It was all so crazy.
I realise I've only written about the things I didn't like which is largely because I disliked more than I liked. I'm finding it hard to think of things that I did like, but the fact I managed to finish the book is a good thing in itself. I have DNF'ed a few things in the past but with this one I just couldn't. I think the fact that I was dying to find out ultimately pushed me to keep on reading. If it wasn't for that I'm sure I would have given up.
All in all I really can not say that I would recommend it. Maybe if the book was cleaned up and was a little (or a lot) shorter then it would be a different story, but as it stands? I'd tell somebody not to bother.

That was all well and good whilst she was playing that part. And then around the 60% mark or so she turned in to a truly awful version of Kiera(Thoughtess). She was stupid, indecisive, a bit of a whore and an all round annoyance.
Now on to the guys. I'm no stranger to falling for the bad guy and that was no different here. I didn't like Drew straight away, in the beginning he really was nothing but an asshole with absolutely no reason (that we knew of) for his asshole tendencies. He grew on me though and by the end I was rooting for him and ended up feeling sorry for him for the way Mrs Indecisive was treating him.
And then we have the good guy, Dawson. I didn't like him. From the off something just wasn't right about him. He's a sheriff and was more than happy to witness his girlfriend's nightmares constantly? I just didn't buy it, I didn't buy him. I was more than happy when he wasn't in the picture and when he did turn up, I couldn't wait for him to buzz off again like the annoying fly he was.
So, as you can tell, by now I'm really loving it.. or not so much. I have major issues with the writing in this book. It was just plain messy. Now, I'm no writing expert but I found it painful to read through most of this. There were a million and one commas where they really didn't need to be, the shift between past and present was awkward and very confusing, chapters would finish and start in the middles of scenes and the dialogue between the characters made me think they were teens, not in their mid to late twenties.
I really do think the book has good potential but it needs clearing up A TON. It was a stress to read. The plot itself was okay.. I got through it. A lot of it was unrealistic and the last 30% was just plain outrageous. I've seen a lot of people mention that it was like reading two books and it really was. Like I said, the beginning was like Consequences and Truth and the ending was Thoughtless. It was all so crazy.
I realise I've only written about the things I didn't like which is largely because I disliked more than I liked. I'm finding it hard to think of things that I did like, but the fact I managed to finish the book is a good thing in itself. I have DNF'ed a few things in the past but with this one I just couldn't. I think the fact that I was dying to find out ultimately pushed me to keep on reading. If it wasn't for that I'm sure I would have given up.
All in all I really can not say that I would recommend it. Maybe if the book was cleaned up and was a little (or a lot) shorter then it would be a different story, but as it stands? I'd tell somebody not to bother.
This is probably my longest review yet..

5 well earned stars! What a journey! I love when a book can make me want something I shouldn't! I love unconventional romance and I love this book!
The title is perfect and makes so much sense now that I've reach the end! There was a lot of underestimating all the way around, I know that I completely underestimated how this story would effect my emotions.
I love stories that take their time to build and really deliver in the end. This one did for me! The first half was a bit slow yet purposeful. At the time, the slowness was little frustrating but not enough to make me want to stopped reading. I had no idea what I was in for and that things would take the turn they did. By the time I reached the second half, I realized that all of those details and the recalling of emotions were important. It played a big part in helping me understand Morgan's struggle to decide what she knows is right and what feels right to her. Yes, I wanted to slap her often but could see where she was coming from! So, yeah, I got it.
The author seamlessly converted me in to desperately wanting something I knew I shouldn't but I couldn't help myself! Wow I don't think I've ever been through so much reading a book in my life.
This book is honestly awesome and ticks many boxes for peoples reading taste, if you like chick-lit you'll love this cos its chick-lit with a twist..if you like them dark you'll love this cos its dark with some calming moments to help you through it.

You want to know why this book was so long? It's because the author tried to cram Consequences and Truth in one book. I can break it down in 4 parts.
1. The escape that ran alongside her flashbacks
2. Drew's redemption
3. The vagina monologue
4. Rainbows and unicorns
I would give the first two parts 4 stars. I was almost certain that Dawson was not trust-worthy considering his non-stop quest to know her entire story. It turns out he was just nosy. What was creepier though was the fact that when Morgan fed Dawson's curiosity of her "heist", she kept getting distracted with the sick smut. And she always needed to get off in the middle of story-time. Umm, hello?! Off-topic much?
The story lost me somewhere after the 60% mark.
From a dark story, this book morphed into a love triangle. And Morgan/Riley's vagina couldn't stop talking.
I wish her vagina would fall off and die.
The love triangle eventually resolved itself and everything else turned hunky dory after that. Everything was just tied up with a big red bow in the end.
The premise certainly wasn't that unique although it did hold my interest in the first 60%. Having said that, the dark did not disgust nor creep me out as much as I expected it to. It's either I'm used to reading stuff dealing with this subject matter by now or it's just the writing for other books following this theme were more intense and tighter. I think the exact term is better - the other books had better writing.

I could not stand the girl personally.. she just kept going back and forth from loving one to loving the other. I understand she went through a lot but she was pissing me off near the end.

I'm not sure I can even begin to describe how much I LOVED this book, but I'm damn sure gonna try!!
Warning! This is not your everyday fall in love romance. This book contains disturbing situations, strong language, graphic, sexual content - some forced, some not. If it's a happily ever after love story that you are looking for, you should probably move on. If you are up for the ride, stick around and it may just turn into a love story after all.
That describes this story perfectly and I loved every second. I love nothing more than a good story that fucks with my head and HOLY SHIT does this one do that!!
We spend the first part of the story living Morgan's nightmare life with her. Her shitty childhood, her awful wedding to Drew and her horrendous six years of marriage with him. Let me introduce Drew, he is a horrible, fucked up, piece of shit! You will hate him with such a fiery passion that it's almost to much to bear. He is abusive, both physical and sexual and sadistic, both physical and sexual and when Morgan escapes him I literally did a fist pump while reading!
With a little help, Morgan runs and she starts her life over in a small town in Maine. Here she comes alive, makes new friends and even falls in love. Her life is wonderful for a couple years. That is until she finds herself back in Las Vegas and gets into a car accident that steals her memory. Of course Drew is there playing attentive husband and takes her home.
We now meet a completely different Drew than the one we knew. This one is attentive and loving and Morgan is different too, she isn't afraid, she does what she wants and they actually begin to fall in love, for real!! That is until she remembers everything!! But this time she isn't afraid and she is in love with thismonster man so she has to figure out what she wants.
"Do you think it's still Stockholm syndrome when you fall in love with the Drew that you didn't know?"
There are a lot emotions in this book and I don't even understand why I feel the way I do about some of it. Your feelings and emotions will fly all over the map and back again - yeah, it's that good!!
There is a somewhat HEA but I will say again, if you can't handle the ugly side of love and relationships and you have a problem reading about abuse, you should really move on right now. This is not for you, but if you are looking for a great story that will leave you begging for more then I can't recommend this enough!! Jettie Woodruff has just become an auto-buy for me!!!

This book is a dark contemporary erotica.
This book is a hot mess, really and truly. There are a hundred things wrong with this book. I can’t even begin to list them all. But just like watching a train wreck about to happen, I couldn't look away. I had to know what would happen next & how it would all turn out.

I liked this until Riley/Morgan starts saying she loves both men and can't make up her mind.
I hate women leading grown men like children, making them look like pussies and authors that don't know what to do with the good guy so they throw in cheating or other unnecessary stuff to make the heroine's choice easier .

Like wow what a book...Its a long one but its a GOOD one! DARK, HOT and very adult with some twist and turns you will not see coming from the boo and your feelings!! I think this one is one of my new fave ending!! IF you like CRAZY, Dark and a lot of sexyness this one will be for you...but not for the faint of hearts thats for sure!! PICK it up you will love it PROMISE!!

I freaking loved this book! If you liked the Consequences series, you will devour this one! There were a couple of grammatical errors, but not enough to bother me and I am picky about those things! This is my new fav! Thanks for the recommendation, Ari Bookzilla!!!

I tried. I really did, but damn this was bad. Nothing was happening. All Morgan did was have boring supposedly passionate sex with her new boyfriend. It wasn’t really him that turned her on. She constantly had nightmares and daydreams of all the times her husband raped and abused her. Then she’d turn to the boyfriend and ask him to fuck her while thinking of the husband. The relationship with the boyfriend mainly revolved around her discussing her past in explicit detail and having sex. It was so fucking boring to read about.
Morgan was TSTL. She didn’t want others to know about her past and that she was on the run, but she didn’t have a convincing back story to tell people either. The boyfriend wanted the husband to be punished for his crimes. Morgan didn’t want him involved in her old life. Like the dumbass she is she gave him all sorts of details about her life. He probably could have figured out the husband’s identity if he really wanted to. For work she chose to go back to the city her husband lived in. Saying no was definitely an option, but she was too stupid to take it. She was just asking for trouble.
Since this story at 187 pages in was going nowhere, I read spoilers in other reviews. It definitely reaffirmed my decision to give up on this idiocy since it only gets worse.
