Venus Rising #2

Venus Aspiring

Rate this book
Book 2 in the Venus Rising Quartet following the Venus School of Sex.

At the end of Book 1, Jessica Swift returned home from the Venus School to find that the two instructors she'd fallen for actually work at the same company as her. The fantasies and desires of her surreal two weeks at the school clash with the reality of wanting two men equally, especially since she'd not even sure if the men she fell for are real.

Justin and Chris are willing to fight for Jessica, to prove to her that she can trust them despite their deception, and to convince her to give them a chance to see if they can turn fantasy into reality.

Will she be forced to choose between them? Even if she doesn't, how can a relationship like that possibly work in real life? What will their friends and family think? Jessica doesn't have any of the answers, but she has a lot of fears to push through in order to find her happily ever after.

This is an erotic romance with graphic descriptions of sexual activity that includes MFM threesome; oral, vaginal and anal sex; anal play; bondage; BDSM; and some exhibitionism/voyeurism.

School’s out,and the playground has moved back home.

The second part of the series continues at home, where Jessica finds out she knows mr. Flood and mr. Fire....
To her shock, they turn out to be her co-workers Justin and Chris, and what to think of that?
Justin and Chris aren’t ready to give up the perfect girl, and do their very best to persuade her to give them a chance.
Working out what they all really want, what they need,is easier than telling families,though....
Their friends understand how they work, even Hilary, who is a total novice in the world of kink.

A visit to Stronghold introduces Jessica and Hilary to Justin’ and Chris’ friends, leaving Hilary in Liam’s capable hands as the trio heads to a room to play.
Hilary and Liam,thát is another story waiting to unfold!
Can’t wait to hear more of them.....

The 2nd book in the series covers Jessica's, Chris' and Justin's developing relationship outside the school. It starts exactly where it left off, with Jessica finding that her 2 coworkers knew she wanted to go to the school. Chris and Justin admitted their mistakes and their fears, then the night goes perfectly, if you know what I mean.

I enjoyed seeing Jessica gaining confidence in their relationship and her getting the courage to admit that she wants a triad. Ms Angel portrayed all main characters well, and they come off the page as real people with real problems. Also, all the secondary characters are well flashed out and I was left wanting to know all their stories.

PS: They groveled good :D

This second book in the Venus Rising series deals with the fallout of Jessica coming home from the Venus School and realising that two of her teachers, ones who she had started to have feelings for, are actually colleagues who work at her company and who knew exactly who she was the whole time. Not only does Jess feel betrayed that they never told her their true identities but she's also embarrassed and worried that they're going to tell everyone she works with exactly what she got up to on her holiday. Luckily for Jess that is the last thing Justin and Chris want. They may have gone about it badly but both of them had been trying to pursue her for months and now they know she is into the same kinks as them they're both hoping that she'll be willing to let them woo her now they're home.

Jess may have been annoyed by the way Justin and Chris handled things but these two are REALLY good at grovelling and it doesn't take them long to get back in her good graces. Both of them want the chance at a relationship with her but Jess is having real problems making a choice because she's got strong feelings for both of them. The more time they all spend together the more they start to realise that perhaps she doesn't need to make a choice but a triad relationship is hardly conventional and they're walking a difficult line when it comes to deciding what to tell other people.

It was great seeing Jess, Justin and Chris become more secure in their relationship but Jess still isn't sure she's ready to deal with the fallout of making things public. Luckily their friends have been fairly supportive but breaking the news to their families doesn't go down well so they've still got plenty of hurdles to overcome. I have to say I really love how open and accepting Jess' best friend Hilary is and I have very high hopes for the potential romance between her and Liam. I also really enjoyed meeting the Doms (& Domme) from Stronghold so I'm pretty sure I'll be diving into that series as soon as I finish this one!

My Thoughts on Venus Aspiring

I found myself really enjoying book two of this series. The change in narrator was overall a pretty easy thing to get used to. I certainly liked the new narrator although there were times that some of the things she said (little sounds she made when Jessica was really into things) came out sounding a bit too much like the tone she was trying to take for Justin, or one of the guys and if I wasn't really paying attention to the words then I wouldn't have known who was speaking in those moments. But that was really my only issue with the narration. Otherwise I think she did a fantastic job and I'm happy that she will be doing the next book in the series.

As for the story itself, I liked the path that it took. The way things ended with book one were tense and certainly not happy. But I like where things went with this one. Relationships in general are not always easy or accpeted by the people you care about for one reason or another and I liked the way that reality was dealt with here. I may not have always liked everyones reactions as a very open minded person myself, but I love that this wasn't handled as a hearts and roses, everything is perfect situation. All of the characters had to really make choices and communicate and develop in this story and I liked it.

I'm happy that things ended settled enough with this book, but at the same time leave so much open for what could come next. I am very much looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Another great book by Golden Angel. The turmoil Jessica has trying to decide which one to pick is great. The author teases the reader just enough without having too much drama. I am glad I had this book to pick up right after I finished The Venus School of Sex. Book 1 ended on a slight cliff hanger and this book started right where book 1 left off.

I've been reading these books so fast I don't know what I am going to do when I am done with them. This author is my absolute favorite. Her kink scenes are perfect. She doesn't same the same things over and over. Each scene seems different from the last. She describes the characters so well that I feel I know them and I root for them. She hasn't disappointed me yet.

Title: Venus Aspiring
Author: Golden Angel
Format: Audio
Narrator: Brooke Pillifant
Genre: Erotic Romance - BDSM, Menage
Standalone: Read book one first Also, while Venus Aspiring ends a good stopping point, there's a nice little tease in the epilogue
Part of a Series: Book 2 of 4 in the Venus Rising series
POV: Mostly Jessica, Chris and Justin
Steam Level: Panty-melting hot
4.5/5

Venus Aspiring starts after The Venus School ends and focuses on Justin, Chris and Jessica trying to navigate being a throuple. Together, they are great but it's fighting society's judgements which is what causes the most issues. I like where the story ends but cannot wait to see more of their story along with the tease in the epilogue. Venus Aspiring was just as hot and even more fun with a surprise hello from a character in book one. Sweet and sexy, Venus Aspiring is a great mix that keeps this story flowing.

I received this audiobook for free from Audiobook Obsession. This is my honest and voluntary review.

This is book two in this interesting and entertaining quartet of reads. You should read book one, The Venus School first. Book two picks up right where book one left off and you quickly find yourself pulled back into this trio's story. I'm really enjoying these reads. Sure there is lots of heat but also plenty of emotions. I find it quite compelling watching the emotional turmoil these three are going through and the evolution of their relationship. I am posting an independent, impartial review.

What an exhilarating and heartwarming story. Was it all a lie? Did they just play her so they could get their kicks? Is Jessica strong enough to find out why? And what happens to her friendship with Olivia? If you've read the Stronghold Doms first, like I did, then you know the answers, you just don't have the details. If you haven't, then you're right where the rest of us are. I love this book and it's just as HOT as the first one.

Chris, Jessica & Justin! A Smoking🔥Hot🔥Trifecta!
Venus Aspiring
Venus Rising, Book 2
By: Golden Angel
Narrated by: Brooke Pillifant

The great “Venus Rising” series continues, this book pick up where the first book ended. Jessica found out Chris and Justin worked at the same company and realized they knew who she was all along. It left her feeling embarrassed and unsure what to think, was she made a fool of? Olivia soothed her and told her to give them a chance and let them explain. Which she does and the three agree on giving their relationship a go and explore what they want, will it be a normal relationship, will she choose one over the other? I loved the bond between them, as a threesome and individually. An unconventional relationship may work for them but acceptance of others may be a challenge. Luckily they have good friends who are open-minded and supportive. In addition to Chris, Justin and Jessica’s story we are I love what the three are building together, a great loving relationship, with lots of hot steamy kink. Jessica’s friend and roommate Hillary gets her own storylines in this book too. She is supportive of her friends BDSM kink but believes she is more vanilla. She did enjoy herself at Stronghold, she also enjoyed what happened between her and Liam. Looking forward to what happens next in both the threesome’s story and Hillary’s. Golden Angel thank you for another great story.

I listened to the Audible edition, Brooke Pillifant did a nice job narrating and bringing the characters to life. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen🎧

When Jessica recognizes that Justin and Chris are really Mister Fire and Mister Flood, she is both mortified and furious. Now it's up to them to figure out how to make it up to Jessica and let her know that they really are interested in her. After apologies are made, they express that they'd like to date her separately and together. Jessica does not want to nor is she willing to make a choice between the two men . None of them come right out and say that they want a three-way relationship but that's what's in all of their minds. Finally, they reveal their feelings and it seems to work out for the best. Now they must slowly inform friends and family of their intentions to be a triad. All does not go well and there's hope from some corners and none at all from others.

Book two of Venus Rising series. Picks up where book one leaves off, so should read book one first. Told in multiple POV with more books in series so not exactly cliffhanger or HEA. This book introduces more of Chris and Justin's friends as they all belong to the club Stronghold. Jessica's friend Hillary also visited the BDSM club with her and will be more involved in the next book. This book is more about the beginning of the relationship between the three and not having to choose only one of them to date. I liked that they eventually were able to communicate what they really wanted from each other in the relationship and even told their friends and families. I will be reading the next book in the series!!

A different kind of sexy

Going into this book, I had expected to see more of the school like I did in the first but it does not. The school is mentioned throughout the book but sadly, there does not seem to be a return visit for us. Book 2 contains the same characters but shows more of their lives outside of the school and BDSM lifestyle. I enjoyed seeing what happened after the sudden ending of book 1 and cannot wait to see what happens with everyone in the coming books!

As far as the narration goes, I had a hard time connecting with the voice. Brook's tone is enjoyable but her timing was off which caused the story to not flow smoothly. I also think a little more editing to take out some of the noises would benefit this work great.

I enjoyed how this book started right where the first one left off. Jessica, Chris and Justin discover each other all over again. We as readers follow their relationship through it's growing pains. Realistic questions from friends and family brought depth to this story. I enjoyed that their relationship was not an easy one, not was it widely accepted. It made the characters fight for what they had. It made the triumphs more worthwhile.

Brooke Pillifant did a great job at narrating this story. I do enjoy her ability to easily differentiate the different characters. Ms Pillifant can narrate male and female parts equally well. The only thing with this audiobook is the sudden stops of the audio. It was distracting and not natural.

The journey continues

Jessica, Justin and Chris’ story continues in Venus Aspiring the 2nd book in Golden Angel’s Venus Rising series. There has been a change in narrators and I found that Brook Pillifant was very easy to listen to. I liked the realism in how the trio were trying to introduce their unique dynamic to friends and relatives and how vividly the author describes their physical relationship. I enjoyed the hints of a new relationship for Jessica’s friend Hillary which I believe continues in the next book Venus Desiring. I was fortunate to receive this audio via Audiobook Obsession.

Audiobook version:

Book 1 was fantastic. I loved the heat, the chemistry. The school setting was fantastic and added a lot to the overall story. Book 2 changed up the formula a bit too much for me. I still loved the characters and seeing where the story took them but leaving the school lost a little bit for me. I would have loved to see more from the BDSM aspect. I do look forward to seeing more on that for sure!

I had a hard time with the narration on this one. The voice tone was great however the overall experience was impacted by the awkward spacing of the pauses. It did not flow naturally and felt very disconjointed, As a result, I had a hard time staying immersed in the story.

There was nothing intrinsically wrong with this book (which is the sequel to The Venus School and which must be read first) but I just didn't find myself engaged by it. I put it down over two weeks ago and haven't had even the slightest inclination to pick it back up. Maybe I will, maybe I won't, pick this back up and finish it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This book takes Jessica, Chris and Justin outside the school where they can start to navigate their relationship dynamics. I enjoyed watching it unfold as they all started to admit, at least to themselves, what they really want. Jessica's time at the school gave her confidence and I liked seeing her embrace it. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Brooke Pillifant's narration was well done and easy to follow.

I love Jessica Chris and Justin and I honestly love the way their story comes to a closure that feels right in this book but angel just opens us up to a whole new world of viewing Jessica's best friend Hilary and Justin and Chris's friends Liam, Patrick and the rest of the stronghold doms, that by the time you read the epilogue your wonder Jessica who and what the hell is next for Hilary.

Disclaimer: I originally read this book on Lit. where it was first posted. And there are clearly some parts that have been lifted word for word but Golden Angel has clearly rewritten a lot of this book.

This version is a lot sweeter, a lot more romantic. It's a great follow up to the first Venus book and the series just kept on getting better.

Wonderful

This is the second book in the series. It continues where book 1left off. This one deals with the struggle of this trio coming to terms with their relationship and the family. We are also introduced to Hilary and Liam.

Book two of the series and it picks up where we left book one with Jessica realising that the two teachers at the Venus School that she had developed feelings for are her co-workers Justin and Chris.
Having initially run from them scared of her feelings towards both men Chris and Justin know they have messed up in getting their girl but after talking to her friend Hilary, Jessica is brave enough to reach out to them and it isn't long before they are all in bed together. However Justin and Chris want to give Jessica a choice unaware she desperately wants both men together as they compliment each other and give her the greatest pleasure. After a few separate dates they all realise they are better as a three some and decide to see where there relationship takes them. So off they head to Stronghold, the BDSM club Justin and Chris visit. Wanting to make sure Jessica is OK her friend Hilary tags along but is out of her depth completely.
I disliked Jessica for leaving her friend to be with Justin and Chris in the club even Justin and Chris asked their friend Liam to watch over her. Jessica should have told Hilary what she was doing not just walk away without a word 😡
Liam likes what he sees in Hilary who clearly is intrigued but not ready to play or try anything, Hilary is attracted to Liam but Liam has clearly been hurt and backs off from Hilary. It will be interesting to see how they develop.

Back home, the fallout of the relationship continues as Chris's family disown him, Justin's mother is wary and Jessica's mother is convinced she will make a choice between the men.

I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first part, possibly because of the leaving Hilary incident but there was something else I can't put my finger on. However I look forward to sweetest develops in book three

“Venus Aspiring” is the second book in the “Venus Rising” series and it does NOT disappoint! It picks up where book one ended so you should read book one first. Jessica finds out the identification of the Doms, from The Venus School that she was attracted to - Mr. Flood and Mr. Fire and found out they were her co-workers. Uh, oh! They haven’t been honest with her and she wonders if, she can ever trust them. Chris and Justin realize their mistakes and fear that she may not want a relationship with them. The chemistry between them is electric and I enjoyed reading how they eventually were able to communicate and Jessica gained confidence and courage to admit that she wants BOTH of them and not having to choose one or the other. We learn that they have told their friends and family. We are shown the local BDSM club, Stronghold, we meet some of Justin and Chris's friends and Hilary, Jessica's best friend, who isn’t sure how she feels about BDSM but and she meets Liam at Stronghold and I know we will hear more about this relationship.
The suspense, intrigue, mystery and BDSM elements continue in this story, and the sexual scenes are HOT. Golden Angel is a gifted writer - her story is well developed, her characters have depth, we care and worry about them and she deftly questions life and our place in our Community. What do we want? What if we don’t walk at the same pace, as Society? She has us thinking about and questioning our ethics and morals. No judgements, no criticism, just exploring and expanding our views.

I have read the stronghold series before this one. And this book totally reminds me of that series! Considering how much I loved it I was super happy with this book!

Jessica is now home and trying to get back to normal, but more open to the possibility of a relationship. Since the 2 teachers from the Venus school decided not to see her anymore she is hoping to find someone else who she can have a relationship with. She is also now more confident in her body and in what she wants.

Of course Justin and Chris are waiting for the perfect opportunity to introduce themselves and try to have a relationship with Jessica. Whether that means only one of them gets their dream girl and one of them does not. There opportunity comes as an after work office get together at a bar. But as soon as Jessica sees them she knows exactly who they are. And she isn't happy. Of course they get past this and decide that they will both date Jessica so she can decide who she wants. But every time she is with them, whether it is separate or together ,she is so happy and comfortable that she can't choose! She realizes she is in love with both of them. But how can they make this work?

This is the continuation of Jess, Chris's, and Justin's story in the real world. Jess and her men get to know each other more. As she learns more about each man the more Jess feels drawn to both. She's extremely conflicted not wanting to give either man up but at the same time doesn't know how to make a threesome work in the real world. This a m/f/m. There is lots of sex and explicit. You've Ben warned. The sex is part of the enjoyment of Golden books. When it does happen it is rarely if ever just a sex scene. The feels that come to surface help drive the narrative forward. It one of things I really like about Golden Angel. She writes really really good sex scenes but she also writes kick ass stories.

There is a cliffhanger. The rest of the series is out so you can just keep reading.
