Avery, Ax, Falcon, Cosmo and I had stumbled upon something suspicious; something that was going on in my city right under our noses. A new drug had popped up, affecting only the paranormal community. People were starting to go missing, and those that we caught started babbling about how he was going to take the Syndicate down for good.
That was never going to happen. No one ruled the criminal world but us, and we don’t mind making a mess of anyone who stands in our way.
Following a bloody battle, I was saved by someone I never thought I would see again, someone who was supposed to be dead. Someone who belonged to the Syndicate.
I needed to get him back.
Right as we began to unravel some leads for both our missing heir and the drug problem, my dad and the other bosses went missing. Can’t a girl catch a break?
We needed to get our dads back, we needed to stop whoever was controlling these drugs, and most of all, these heirs better fall in line because I was Rayla Desmond, the Syndicate Queen, and I don't need any Kings.
This is an urban paranormal RH romance, which means the main female character doesn't have to choose a love interest. This book has dark themes, stalker vibes, adopted brother taboo, torture, death, gruesome, bloody violent scenes and graphic sex. Sex involves: DP, DVP, Dirty Talk, Group Sex and Horn play.
This story isn't about heroes or saving the world, it's about villains and what they are willing to do to keep what's theirs. They don't care about the greater good, only their made family and the money that keeps them going. This is for those morally gray readers that love a bad ass female and the psycho men that are obsessed with her.
I was so excited to get to read the 2nd book and it did not disappoint me! I thought the first book had everything I didn’t know I needed, well then Syndicate Queen delivered X2.
I. Adore. Lex. My gods he is just too much, too loyal, too devoted, too in love and I wanted more lol. And Cosmo…ugh. Don’t even get me started!!! My heart aches for him because of the corner he got backed into and wanting to do the right thing.
Rayla, I’ll never stop saying it, she’s my spirit animal. Everything about her is so strong, but she wasn’t afraid to show her love and dedication to the Syndicate or those she loved, and just the fact that she can absolutely take care of her own business…she’s probably one of my most favorite FMCs.
That ending though!!!! I wanted more! So much more! The ONLY complaint I have is that I wanted just a little bit more about the guys. We learned a lot about Rayla, her childhood, some of her likes, just more depth to her character…with the MCs I feel like we got the tiniest little flashes of it and I just really wanted to know them better.
All in all, I thought this was such a great little ending to the Syndicate gang and I’m just craving more!
Reread Sept 2025 Still had me laughing and I really need to look into why I still egg on the stabby and manic stalker ways 😅 🥰
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
First read Oct 2024
I want to say so much, but I don't want to spoil anything.
This is not a heroine, and her heroes save the world. These are morally (more than) grey characters. Twisted, stabby, rip out hearts, stalker, possessive actions and tendencies... and proud loud and bloody happy about it.
Even though these characters are not the clean type good hero's, they are more than likeable and loveable!! From their fathers to their best friends, their character traits are unique, and I love them!! This is a paranormal, Mafia RH tale with vampires, mages, shifters, demons, and Faie.
I laughed, giggled, wondered why I was egging on the stabbing, and then happily whooped at the killing, kidnapping, and psycho deranged behaviour. Fanned myself through the many many many many!!!! hot as lava spice, smex, and detailed smutty smex! some of the best smut I've read, with dirty talk hot enough to light candles!!
It is a bittersweet ending, not because of the content...no because I'm gonna miss them, especially Lex, I can't help it, I love a Lex their innocence is so pure and yet psychotic and dangerous 😍. This does end in a HEA and one that had me snort laughing 😂
I really enjoyed reading this duet! The characters were all fun and distinct - although I would have loved at least one female character besides fmc who wasn't the cook.
I don't think I could have taken another book with every other character worshipping Rayla—even all the guys' dads seem to have this odd fascination with her. Seeing her have just one flaw or misstep would have been nice.
Overall, it is a fun read. Book three is an epilogue novella that I will probably pick up eventually.
Dang, Rayla and her men really ARE psycho. The second book is even more crazy than the first, which really means something ;-). But a good crazy, if that makes sense?! I enjoyed the story and laughed or chuckled a lot during reading it. For instance at this: "They say 'he is sowing his wild oats.' Well, where are my damn fields of wheat, huh?! Where did all the wheat go?!" Genius, pure genius Kira! But I will say this: if you're not into the crazy, brutal kind of vibe this book is not for you. I mean we are speaking about the Syndicate here, so they are all to some extend mentally unstable people. As this is very up my alley I'm giving this a 5 of 5 stars rating!
Loved it so much sad it’s over. Rayla and the rest of the heirs are on a mission. Mission one is to find out who is making the drug and why. Second mission is to find Lex and bring him into the fold. The second mission is not going so well. Then Rayla finds Lex. Lex ends up taking Rayla. She’s mad about it at first. Then they start talking. Rayla explains to Lex that she wants him to be apart of the syndicate. Lex tells her why he can’t but that he wants to be with her. Rayla turns the tables on Lex and tells him to come find her. Back at home things get crazy. The bosses are all missing. Rayla and all the heirs set a plan in motion to find their fathers. Rayla and the heirs spend some quality sexy time together. Two others are thrown in the sexy time mix. Won’t say who I’ll let you figure it out. Now it’s time for everyone to pull up their big girl and boy panties and find their fathers. They also need to find out who’s making the drug and why supernatural beings are going missing. All in a days work for Rayla and the heirs.
I loved this book! I love Rayla and her men especially the way they seem so real but almost like we’re only scratching the surface. By the end of this book, as from something mentioned by Ax, it’s only been a week??? I may have my timelines wrong, I felt sure there was more time passed than that but not by much most likely and these guys fell hard and fast but it remained believable and not into the realm of instalove. Enough of all the mushy stuff, there were battles galore and all the blood guts and glory we’ve come to expect from the Syndicate. The fight scenes were exciting and a mixed bag of gifts being utilised, the heroes were villainous and delighted in graphic violence. Through the latter half of this book I just kept expecting there to be not long enough to finish the book satisfactorily but, and I don’t think this is a spoiler, there’s a hint at the end that we may see more of Rayla and her Syndicate and I know I would be happy to read more of their exploits.
Such a great ending to the duet....would not be upset if there were more books. Maybe with the kids 😉😉
So many good things to say about the series. The characters were perfection all different and a little crazy. Ax, Avery, Falcon, Lex, Cosmo were a great companion and addition to her. Not to mention the crazy dad's and their boss club.
Will for sure be reading more books by this author
I swear to god out of every cringey description I have read about genitalia in every smut book I have ever read I have never been so repulsed as I was when I read “PUCKERED HOLE”!!! 🤮🤮🤮 ABSOLUTELY VILE! Overall book was very cringe basically published fanfic which is fine and I probably would have given it a higher rating if it wasn’t for the absolutely heinous dirty talk good lord it was BAAADDD!
The dads are absolutely hilarious. I love their banter and how they're all best friends. I also love their relationships with their kids it's just it's great. I absolutely loved these books they were amazing. This was the 1st time I've ever read this author and I do say that if you have not read this particular series by her yet I recommend her and this. I can't wait to see what happens in the next 1 and if we get 5 surprises
So ridiculous. I read both in the series, but I have no idea why since I didn’t enjoy either. Dialogue was juvenile and cheesy. Used the word “diddo” instead of “ditto” 🤦🏻♀️
The plot was very interesting and I'm glad it centered mostly around Rayla and her mates and not the evil forces trying to take them down. However I did expect a big showdown, so the way they resolved it was a bit anti-climatic and I would've loved getting to see the Syndicate King's let loose and beat some people up.
Let's talk about Rayla. Oh, dear, how I adore you. Rayla is my favorite kind of FMC, a baddass female with supernatural powers and the confidence of a seasoned war veteran. She is wacky and crazy and more than a little funny and I love how she knows she's the boss of everyone. Her relationship with her father is so cute and I love his love for his daughter. They are the most unorthodox family ever but it still somehow flows perfectly and their love for each other has no bounds.
Cosmo is a character I truly love, however I really really really hated the fact that he kept the mate bonds hidden from Rayla. It caused her a lot of confusion and pain and I feel like her and Cosmo never really got to hash it out since they were immediately thrown into another problem after the big reveal. Other than that, I really do enjoy his character. He is her loyal dog and sometimes has an air of innocence about him that is very charming.
Ax was also loveable. I love that he is just as wild and blood-thirsty as Rayla. Wolf-characters are always fun to read about and Ax was no different. I specifically really enjoyed that certain group scene (you know what I'm talking about).
Avery was also loveable, but he's one of the ones I wish turned out just slightly different. His character was cute and he way always there for Rayla, but I wish that their sexual dynamic was different. I liked how he led everyone on what to do in certain moments since he's literally a Fae and knows everything abt sex, but I also craved for his character to fall at Rayla's feet. I'll be completely honest - I wanted her to dom the fuck out of him and it's as simple as that.
Falcon, my love! I stated this in my last review but I just love the normally cold and detached intelligent man who opens up a little for his girl. Whenever he'd blush or get flustered my heart felt like it was going to burst. I really really loved his character, and he helped out a lot with his and his dads weapons and inventions.
LEX!!!! Lex was my all time favorite of the series. He's just as, if not more, crazy than Rayla and his obsession with her is admirable. Some people have a hard time with the stalker stuff but I really enjoyed it. If Cosmo's her loyal dog, Lex is the worshipper who goes to her altar everyday for hours on end. He loves Rayla completely and I really liked that specific scene with the group at the tattoo parlor. He is dark and psychotic but would rip his own head off if it made her happy. Love Lex.
Overall, I really really loved this duet and I wish there was more!!! If there aren't anymore books about our Syndicate kings and queen I might just die. This story was funny and has plenty of delicious sexy times. I would recommend this duet to anyone who loves funny family relationships and a woman in power with her loyal men who'd slaughter anyone who even looks at her wrong.
SYNOPSIS (of Duet): This is set in a world where supernaturals have just “come out” to the humans. Rayla, the FC, is the only daughter of the head of the Syndicate. A group of 5 appointed to take responsibility for all superaturals when they came out to the human world. Book 1 starts when the wives of each of member of the syndicate are murdered along with the head of the Devil faction. This results in the heads agreeing not to meet again in person and to raise each of their heirs separately. Book 1 then moves forward 12 years to where it has been decided that the heads and their heirs should meet and you discover that the heir to the Devil faction and his uncle have apparently died. Rayla’s father sets up a competition to see if one of the heirs (each of which are men) can win her hand in marriage. This then evolves into the discovery that there is an unknown group pushing drugs to the supernaturals and who want to take out the Syndicate. The story covers the evolution of the FC’s relationship with each heir and with her foster brother, Cosmos and the heirs as they track down the unknown group attempting to take them out. There is a HEA.
The story is well written with a good arc across the two books but it is in need of editing especially Book 2 which is littered with typos and words used incorrectly. It was frustrating to read as a result. The FC is strong and there is a lot of violence and gore in the books. I enjoy a bit of darkness and drama but there were a couple of instances, especially when the FC killed one of her own guards for no reason, where the FC lost my sympathy. It’s one thing to be tough and to have to prove yourself but to just kill someone in a torturous fashion just because is not cool or strong. That together with the FC’s complete obsession with sex (which ramps up in Book 2) meant that I found it very hard to like the FC or to understand why, apart from the mate imperative, each of the heirs became so obsessed so quickly with the FC. She really didn’t exhibit much for them to be attracted to. There was minimal relationship development or backstory given in relation to the heirs and Lex just came across as weak and unbalanced - not in a good way despite what the author attempted to portray.
The story dragged in Book 2 and around 30-35% of the book is just sex, sex and more sex. Whilst it’s fun to read these scenes as part of a story having at least 40 pages of just sex (and not, IMO, particularly sexy) was just too much and simply padding. Especially as this was during a time when the Bosses are supposed to be missing and someone is supposed to be trying to take out the Syndicate - yes, that’s showing strong leadership qualities (not).
Book 2 was weak with the climax and dramatic scenes being less than dramatic or climactic. The story could have been much better and just became about the sex. Ultimately Book 1 started strong with a strong kick ass FC and then just petered out and lacked depth, development or direction.
I don't want it to end yet but alas, Syndicate Queen wraps up the Syndicate Mafia duology and it was fracking glorious. I reveled in this dark and spicy romance.
If you've gotten this far then you already know Rayla is a badass of epic proportions but she's leveled up in this one. Rayla has been a co-leader of the Desmond clan for a while but readers get to see her in action in this one and she is just as cunning and brutal as I imagine. I loved seeing the men in this book fear and respect her as they should.
However, now that Rayla and the other heirs have gotten closer, they bring out a softer side to her. Rayla is more open and honest about her feelings, calling them out on their own issues while supporting them and giving them her vulnerable side. Lex has finally come out of the shadows and has a staring role. This man made me swoon. Sure he's crazy (all the best ones are) but it was his devotion, obsession, and absolute love for Ray that was breathtaking. The man is an adorable murderous puppy. Avery also pulled at heartstrings by being so accepting of the relationship conundrums. Don't get me wrong I love all the guys but those stood out the most. You know for a bunch of guys who were determined to sleep their way across the country they sure have changed their tune. They are totally devoted to Rayla, it's obvious that they love her and are willing to back her in any and everything she does.
I have to talk about the dads. Once again had their roles to play and they were a hoot and a half. Seriously, they were hilarious with the bickering, teasing, hair-brain schemes. I love all the dads and how much they care for not only their children but the other heirs as well. I have to admit Ternin (Rayla's dad) and Syris (Avery's dad) were my favorites, both are a little unhinged. It was good to see them loosening up and becoming close again.
This was a great plot. Rayla has taken charge and the heirs are following her lead. There were some pretty wild moments (the dungeon scene will forever be imprinted in my brain) that make me realize that the other heirs aren't as sane as I thought. Sure Lex and Ray are crazy, looks like the others just hide it better. There were also a few developments, like mating bonds forming, Cosmo secrets getting spilled, and the truth about the past is revealed.
Syndicate Queen was frecking awesome. Rayla showed everyone how to get it done, breaking hearts and bones everywhere she goes. Handling bosses, vanquishing enemies, and riling the boys up seem to be her specialty. This was it for Rayla and the guys and I'm not ready for it to end yet I could have read a few more books starring the heirs but at least it had a fantastic ending.
𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰: Book two of the Syndicate Mafia. This CANNOT be read as a standalone. You must start with Syndicate Princess. This book will end with a HEA.
𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰: ❗️MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR BOOK ONE❗️
This book starts right where we left off. Rayla knows she was with Lex so now she’s determined to bring him home. She also has to convince the rest of the heirs and their fathers it was actually Lex, then they form a plan to bring him home. I don’t want to go into too much of it and give anything away but after that it’s a storm of action packed events through to the end.
Rayla is still building her relationship with the heirs and feeling a bond to all of them she’s not use to. Cosmo is holding on to a HUGE secret that kinda threw me for a whirlwind. We learn a lot more about what happened with Lex’s past and learn more about him. We get to see him brought into the fold with the rest of the Syndicate heirs and start to build friendships again. His meeting with the syndicate daddies was so heartbreakingly heartwarming…. I don’t know if that’s a thing but that’s how were going to describe it… you know, makes you sad but gives all the warm and fuzzies…that… okay moving on…
I love these charatcers. I love all their personalities. While I don’t have a favorite, I did really enjoy Falcon’s snarky self coming out to play, especially when Avery would tease him and I loved Lex’s unabashed obsessed stalker tendencies. I love the syndicate daddies. They are a freaking trip. I would read a book about just them. Haha! And I agree with Syris, I neeeed all the babies! I really hope this isn’t the end for these characters. This was such a good duet!
“No one will touch you when I’m breathing. I will rain hell down on earth to anyone that tries to take you from me.”
“Ray, you are my lifeline in this ever-consuming darkness, you are the only one that pulls me out and shows me there is more. You make me want to live for you and only you.”
Stalker or not, I wanted this dark and dangerous man. I wanted him to show me what he could do with all his Peeping Tom ways.
“We’re all a bunch of murderous little creatures, aren’t we?”
“Gods, Rayla. I’m going to fuck this little, tight mouth so good. That’s what you want, right? A bad girl on the outside but a fucking angel with your mouth.”
“Is this what you like, dirty girl? You like being fucked so hard you can’t think, can’t breathe. Well, I can give you that.”
Heroes wanted peace, but villains . . . we want revenge any way we can get it.
“You are irreplaceable to me. My constant. The one who has always and will always be by my side. The dark knight for his queen. Forever.”
We have multiple POVs; one FMC, Rayla, 28, vampire and 5 MMCs Ax, Avery, Cosmo, Falcon and Lex. All 28 years too if I remember correctly, Cosmo maybe older; werewolf, faerie, vampire, mage and demon respectively. I bet this would make most people interested, same, since the only species missing would be an angel, a god and a human to make things hella interesting. So I jumped in and hoping to be entertained and truthfully if I had read this in 2019 when I had first ventured into the world of RH, I would have had a blast so it is a good duet, unfortunately, it is the same recipe as most RH paranormal series We have the brute, the genius, the flirt, the loyal one and the psycho. All are fated mates of Ray who is amazing, beautiful, intelligent, powerful, strong and all things that make aMary Sue, the list was endless. The first chapter hooked us, the backstory with the death of the MCs mothers though one lost both parents. Then the meet ups, the villain was pretty obvious and in all this the bosses were the outstanding characters. There were holes in the story but I could not afford to pick at them since another dnf wasn’t something I wanted, like how come Easton’s spirit powers didn’t help warn about the bombing; when Ray made the hangout place why was there no special room for Avery and he didn’t make a fuss about it like he had about the bond but not to even get ahead of ourselves, the lab and gym were additions made when she was 13 or older because if it’s older then that would mean she kept tabs on the guys, right, and she didn’t have they pictures? None of the heirs knew what the others looked like? Really a mafia-ish whatever, they would keep tabs on their man-whoring but not what they looked like….gahhhhh. Anyways, I tried to ignore all that and more and just read on
This book was chefs kiss 😘. I swear I highlighted the whole book.
Rayla is absolutely the best FMC she has the best one liners. This book she’s still a bad a$$ an takes what she wants an she wants all the heirs.
Avery Is hilarious sometimes especially when it comes to the banter between his dad an him. An his one liners to the other heirs is comical.
Falcon is always so serious but in a sexy way for Rayla. They’re adorable together an she definitely what’s that nifty toy he made for them to use in battle.
Ax is the sensitive giant teddy bear for her. He’s always there to protect her even from the others when he wants to be around her himself the banter with him an the heirs is hysterical when he pouts.
Lex he’s yummy an loyal to Rayla he definitely has the best one liners out of the heirs. He’s adorable with Ray an the heirs it’s funny with him an Cosmo at times though.
Cosmo is a big puppy dog big bite an bark at the ones who would hurt Ray but to her all bark no bite. The banter with everyone an him is awesome.
Once Cosmo realizes Rayla has them all as mates he has to reveal a secret he has kept from Rayla an once she finds out she’s pissed for a time.
The tattoo scene is extremely steamy Hehe. I love when Avery is blood drunk he’s hilarious. This book is so amazing you’re going to laugh an get teary eyed an that’s the best. I still can’t pick a favorite dad they’re all so funny. The guys
Ax Avery Falcon Lex Cosmo
They’re all absolutely comical at times an it definitely fits with Rayla in the best way.
Be prepared for lots of banter steam an shenanigans form some in this duet but it’s a great one. :)
Syris is my favourite....infact I wouldn't have been mad if Avery had been binned in favour of his silver fox dad. Syris is one hundred percent my favourite character. I don't what it is about him but in both books for me he was the standout scene stealer. I need that spin off with his grandkids! The call me Daddy joke was a great call back to Syndicate Princess.
I had high hopes for Lex and I wasn't disappointed! That little devil made me laugh (did anyone else think of the megazord from the Power Rangers when he was describing the mega mate?). I loved his random observations after watching Rayla for so long. I liked how he had loads of page time in this book since we got to know the other heirs in book one.
The big take away though for me in this book is all the familial relationships and Rayla herself. Rayla and her dad have an amazing relationship and its such a change from the usual mafia arranged marriage plotline. Rayla is a fantastic heroine; I loved how she just took charge and just gone on with things but still had some softer moments.
Solid recommend for me and I would have quite happily had a third book in the series!
My review system; 3 stars - I liked it; would read the author again 4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series 5 stars - I loved it, this book is perfect; I have added all the authors works to my TBR
Sigh there was a lot of potential. So much really. We were set up for a nice battle and attempted coup for the crown so to speak and it was such a let down. No blood shed, no fighting, no Trojan horse, no real mayhem. A pretty speech flips the army and a hairpin saves the day (insert massive eye roll).
For as long and wordy as these two books were there was information that was vastly unimportant, information that should have resulted in some strife that was shrugged away because eh mates, and then where the clear need for plot devices and twists there was none just convenient elements to smooth the course to the most lackluster conclusion ever.
I wanted to like the characters more than I did but the men live for the fmc who besides saying manic things and having reckless moments doesn’t really display leadership potential more than a few minor times. So minor nothing actually happens which was annoying it was wasted words on paper just existing to make her sound more badass than we were actually shown.
Overall the more I think the more annoyed I get and want to pick it apart. So suffice it to say it was a good idea, either way ok execution, it held my attention ok, super long winded with long chapters, and a duology which I appreciated. There was things I’d liked fixed, changed, and addressed but if you like slightly violent paranormal books it’s a nice way to pass time.
Okay, I waited until I read both books before doing a review. It's definitely a 5 🌟 rating. These books had plenty of spice, humor, and gore. Some teary-eyed moments, and the dads? Omg, those 4 made me laugh. They act like absolute children while together, bickering and picking on each other like real brothers and family. And her mates? Holy hotness, panty 🫠 hotness. They each bring something to the table. Falcon is the smart, stoic one. Sexy as hell, gotta love a need, right? So dreamy.... Ax is the rough, big intimidating one. Muscles on muscles and such a hunk. Mmm, mm, mm.... Alex is the sexy, flirty one. And those wings??? Beautiful... Lex is the dark psycho one. Who doesn't love a man who would do anything for you? Include stalk you for 22 years? Lol, this is dark romance, after all. Cosmo, the selfless, right-hand man. Always at her side, always there for her. All of them are hot, sexy and just a little psycho and all about her. Then we have our FMC, The Desmond Heir. The future leader of the Syndicate. She is one bada$$ b***h who has a heart of gold unless you f*** with what's hers or break her one rule..... The Syndicate is her life, her family. She will do anything for it. And those in it. Who doesn't love a dedicated, loyal bada$$ b***h??? Such a great story and I absolutely binged these. Definitely recommend. Enjoy!!!
Syndicate Queen picks up exactly where Syndicate Princess ended, which I was stoked about because that ending for book one! Sheesh, it left me hanging! But in a good way! It was great to be able to dive straight back into the story and feel like no time had passed at all.
I loved getting to know the characters more as well as a certain someone getting more screen time. I love me an unhinged love interest and Stanley did not disappoint! I loved the back and forth between the characters and the tension that was built due to trust issues. It made it all the more sweeter when they finally all came together the way they were supposed to. And can we just please take a moment to appreciate 1. The shower scene that we had ALL been waiting for between our leading lady and certain forbidden male and 2. That steamy as all get out scene in the tattoo parlour?!?!! Man I am STILL thinking about that scene, honestly. One of the hottest that I've read, and I've read A LOT.
Everything was wrapped up in a nice neat little package, and I still adored the fathers just as much as I did when I first met them. This was a brilliant ending to a wonderful duet that I am still recommending to people today. I can't wait to appease the book dragon in me and get paperback copies of this duet to have on my shelf!!
First 25% of the book was a little slow for me. For being a duology RH, I wasn't sure if I'd really latch onto all the men this quickly. Stanley writes pretty linear in the sense that we're getting a lot of POVs to fill in the feelings sooner so sometimes it felt a little more like explaining than showing because of that, but I also appreciated it because we managed to get to a point about halfway where I was like "YESSSS!! We're a RH finally!" (Maybe a little sooner than that) I liked the Heirs all interacting with each other and them learning they're all mates to her. I admittedly was a little worried about how she'd do it and I think it worked okay in the end. Ray is no nonsense and I think it worked well for the story it was and the short RH it is.
The dads, though...Oh my gosh. HILARIOUS. I cracked up laughing a few times in this book with everyone on the page. I loved all their interactions where it sometimes was the kids being more mature than the parents. So funny.
I think the other thing that worked for this being a duo is no had severe trauma or other emotional issues to work through. Plus, the relationships between parent and kid were pretty stable (if maybe not the warmest). So, I think that helped that we didn't have to wade through the therapy too.
Overall, I enjoyed this. I plan to continue to read more from Stanley.
This book. My God. It was so sexy, full of suspense and (for me) well WILL YOU ALREADY! I don't know HOW the author does it but the spice gets even SPICER each book she writes. This is a why chose (and girl with those men I wouldn't chose either!)
--PLEASE CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS. The author has added them.--
The author included a playlist of songs they felt fit what they were going for....you can chose to listen or don't, but it gives you such insight as the characters they belong too. The story follows the MC (Rayla) running a mafia-style organization for supernaturals. I appreciatre that each character BROUGHT something to the table that was different from the others. They all had their uses and her friendship (plus the constant flirting was adorable) The MC was a 100% TOTAL badass didn't need no one (at all) but she liked having them there. She was just as dark inside as they were, cunning and had drive. Watching the characters grow was one of my favorite parts. I found myself constantly shouting at them to get it together and just TALK ABOUT IT ALREADY. I've tried chosing a favorite character, but they all have cute quirks that make them all my favorite.
I need another book with them...or each of them. God, please.
Loved it!! Couldn’t get enough, thankfully finally finished it, despite all the continuous distractions, loved it and couldn’t put it down.
Despite this series only being 2 books it was fantastic, it was so great. A good portion of the time when I read I have some questions leftover of what happened in the book but there was none for me with this one. I loved all the bosses and their heirs and the way that they came together. The way this author made the past meld with the present and show you at the end of it what the future would look like. And even thought it’s not the cliche family and what they value I wouldn’t mind being apart of it, syndicate for life babyy! Rayla one of the most perfect badass female characters I’ve ever read, no doubt down the line I’ll remember these books and definitely re-read them too!
Just 10/10 this book was great. I’m happy with the way this ended, with the heirs, with Rayla, and with the bosses. It was so beautifully done, from the complexity of each characters to the intricacies in how they each met later on in life and how despise all their ruthlessness they’re at the end of the day still family and family protects it’s own. Completely loved it and I’ll definitely read more of this author!
OMG!!!! Must read Kira Stanley outdone herself once again with this second book. It was a page turner and the suspense steamy paranormal fantastic and I could not put it down and I was at the edge of my seat. This book was worth the wait!!! And it was excellent and it was not even disappointed with this story. Rayla was a bad a--psychopath "fierce" queen and she not playing around with this mission . Her mission had to be done with out questions. And now when she found Lex it was a battle field in the dark realm of their instalove romance of drama. But Rayla was dealing with her emotions in regard of Lex. Will Lex come over to her side of thinking or would he tried to kidnapped her. It contain loyalty, fighter, death, passion and more. I can't wait until the next book to come out. I highly recommend this book you just got go reading this story about Rayla the Syndicate Queen Mafia 2. I received a free copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving a honest review. Trina Jones
Rayla is my new bestie who’s men I want to steal for my own harem.
This book was a rollercoaster BUT definitely had a faster pace then the first one. I once again will remind you that this book is more of a “feeling book” then a grammatically correct to the T book.. but I was living for it!
I was a bit slower to finish (could be from my book hangover for a previous series or it read a little slow at times) but I still would recommend!
It’s light, the banter is perfect, and Rayla’s relationships are even greater!
Now everyone’s favorite part… the SMUT FINALLY ARRIVED AND IT ARRIVED HOT AF. Definitely worth the wait and anticipation. I am still a sucker for the nerds and Falcon was everything.. and whatever he lacked in crazy… my stalker Lex took over 👏🏽
No cliffhanger because the series is COMPLETED! I do wish we would’ve been graced with an epilogue because I was not ready to say goodbye.. BUT I have a pretty good idea what Rayla and her harem is up to 😉.
I seriously loved the conclusion of this series! It was perfect! I’m so glad that the fmc allowed Lex to speak for himself instead of letting the the guys make assumptions. I’m also glad that the fmc always followed through with her threats. I also loved how she was a bada$$ in the first book and maintained that appearance in this one. The only thing that sorta bugged me was the thorough chapters of torturing the bad guys even the not so bad guys. Normally books usually skim those parts but it was explained in full detail which kinda turned me off. It was a bit much. I loved the passion between them, I loved how all the emotions felt natural between them all and how loyal they all were to each other. We got to learn more about Cosmos history which explained why he held back and also why the fmc couldn’t feel her bonds. Wish it was longer but I was happy with the outcome and I didn’t need to wait for another book.
