When Jim Stovall, through his business, makes his movies such as The Ultimate Gift accessible both as a premiere theatrical and DVD movie, as well as part of a school curriculum, he improves the lives of young and old alike. - Donald J. Trump

On the heels of the best-selling success of The Ultimate Gift and the major motion picture from 20th Century Fox based on that book, Jim Stovall brings you The Millionaire Map.

This is the book I wished was available 30 years ago when I was desperate and broke with only a dream of one day being a millionaire. Now, as a multimillionaire, I want to share the wisdom I've gained from the journey and provide other travelers with a map to guide them on their journey. --Jim Stovall

It is clear that everybody needs to design their own millionaire map but in this book Jim tells us about his personal one, giving some very good advices among the pages.
Incredible how a blind person could do that much and achieve so many goals!
I have enjoyed taking a peek at his personality and I really like how he thinks. Some of the experiences he shares with us are very valuable and I have taken a lot of notes from all what I've read and I can use in my life.

Totally recommended to the ones that seek a life of fulfillment and wealth.

I just finished reading The Millionaire Map by Jim Stovall. What a wealth of information. This is a book I will need to read multiple times in order to digest all the wisdom packed in between the pages. It’s a great, straightforward book filled with encouragement, hope, and the promise of success to those who are willing to put forth the work in order to make it happen. And, according to Mr. Stovall himself, that title will belong to 3% of the population.

Within the first few pages, Mr. Stovall was giving out his phone number in order to help others alongside their own personal millionaire journey. That was impressive. However, the longer I read, the more I admired Mr. Stovall for his genuine willingness to help others and backing up those words with action steps.

Approximately seven years ago, on Thanksgiving night, I was first introduced to Mr. Stovall through the movie, The Ultimate Gift. To read a nonfiction book of his where he is willing to share how he created his own millionaire map further cements what I took away from the movie years ago - real riches are found in relationships, not currency.

God definitely orchestrated my chance to read this book. November 2013, He had us restructure our finances, budget, etc. in order to start controlling our money instead of allowing it to control us. We are in the very beginning stages of our own millionaire map, but I’m excited to share this book with my husband so we can form the right map for our lives together. Thank you, Mr. Stovall, for writing this book. I will be contacting you shortly as we celebrate the various milestones in our journey and also to ask advice. Thank you for taking your wealth of knowledge and sharing it with others. I, too, plan on sharing what I’ve learned to help others along the way.
I received this book for free from the author and Book Club Network for my honest review.

I was not impressed by Jim Stovall's The Millionaire Map. I had difficulty following what he was trying to convey to the reader. I do not want to be a millionaire and I guess that made me lose interest in the book.

I didn't see where this book was the Ultimate Guide to: creating wealth, enjoying wealth, and sharing wealth.

I was not impressed with the author's self promotion of being an author, athlete, investment broker, or entrepreneur. While I am sure he has done great service in helping the blind, I personally thought he was "tooting his own horn" in most of the chapters.

Not everyone wants to be a millionaire.

“Who wants to be a millionaire?” The answer to that question could well be another question, “who doesn’t want to be a millionaire?” This has been the case since the adoption of currency, but in today’s age of declining economies, escalating personal debt, and looming financial insecurity, it is a more compelling desire than ever. There is no shortage of books on the market that purport to tell you ‘how to become a millionaire,’ but upon reading them, most of us are left as clueless as we started.
Not so with The Millionaire Map by best-selling author Jim Stovall. A blind ex-athlete who had to have a reader to help him get through college (a reader, by the way, whom he later married), Stovall went from the depths of poverty to multi-millionaire status, and he shares that journey with the reader in a practical, no tricks style that is all that a map should be – easy to understand, and, with the right measure of desire, dedication, and determination, not all that difficult to follow. Not too difficult, that is, if you know a few basic things: where you’re starting from, where you’re going, and why you want to go there.
A truly self-made multimillionaire, Stovall share his wisdom and experience as he went from the bottom to very near the top of the financial ladder. One of the most important things he imparts in this exemplary book is the definition of wealth – it’s not about the total amount of money you have, or even your appearance of wealth – it’s all about being financially able to live your life on your own terms. Stovall warns against being ‘all hat, and no cows,’ like the many people who through the use of easily available credit spend more than they make to create the appearance of wealth, but who are, in fact, spending more than they make. And, that is one of the best sign posts on his ‘millionaire map,’ – wealth is accumulated through spending less than you earn.
It’s simple, as Stovall writes, but not easy, because it takes being honest with yourself. I can honestly say that this book, which I received free as a review copy, is not just one of the best books on gaining financial independence I’ve read, but the best – bar none.

The thing I appreciate most about this book is that the author early on emphasizes that "millionaire" means different things to different people. For some it literally means a net worth of a million dollars. For others it means not having to worry about money. Stovall allows you to pick your own definition.

The premise of this book is that it will help you devise a "map" that will lead you to a destination of financial contentment, but really it's more like an outline of principles than a step-by-step set of directions. It's more like Google Earth than Google Maps.

The advice is sound, but if you've read more than a few financial planning books, it will all sound hauntingly familiar. Understand your income. Control your spending. Invest prudently.

This is a good book. There's just not a lot in it to separate it from other good financial planning and investment books. The prose is flabby in places, with lots of repetition, and the author spends a lot of time talking about himself.

Still, the overall takeaway is that becoming a millionaire is more about your mindset and your relationship with money than it is about what you do for a living or where you invest. If you're looking to develop that mindset—a healthy relationship with money instead of a codependent one—then this book is for you.

I received a free copy of this book from Story Cartel for review purposes.

The Millionaire Map
By: Jim Stovall

I agreed with Jim Stovall about the definition of a millionaire can be different to everyone. T o a lot of people it can mean having all the newest things. Then to others it could be just being comfortable having a happy life with what you got. I think I am that person. The book tells how you can get your dreams. I think the biggest thing is being able to give to those in need. A millionaire lifestyle may not be what you think. It really depends a lot of what we have in life and how we use it. Again what do you want to be rich in? I am glad I read the book found it helpful. In my thoughts I am a millionaire with what I have in life. Read the book see what kind of millionaire you want to be.

I loved this book because it was difficult. It was an easy read, but made me face some things that others in this category haven't forced me to consider.

Jim Stovall makes me believe that being a millionaire isn't as unattainable as it sounds; but at the same time, he keeps the reality of the work and struggle it will take in the foreground.

Before picking up this book, I would have said that the "You Are Here" arrow on my map was somewhere off the page. I now see myself inching toward the destination.

I would say this book is for anyone who is remotely interested in being a millionaire, or someone who feels they are already making that journey. Stovall clearly states that it's not for everyone, but how can you know if it's for you unless you're willing to look at the facts?

In the ’80s, Mr. Stovall and his wife had 6-figures’ worth of debt! Not the kind of 6-figures we typically aspire to, but all too common these days.

Today, their net worth is over $10mil.

For some of us, we’d be content to simply get out of the pit of debt, but others of us want more.

I love how Mr. Stovall redefines “millionaire.” To him, it’s not about a specific dollar amount in the bank. It’s about the freedom to do what you want without money being a limiting factor.

In other words, money doesn’t control what you can and cannot do with your time and your life, the only commodity that you can’t make back. If you lose money, you can earn more. If you waste time, it’s gone!

He goes on to say that people in debt are far more obsessed with money than millionaires are. Millionaires tend to focus on people, service, creativity and producing value, and that’s the key to their success. Produce value for others. Get creative about it. What can you offer that will benefit others? That’s where you start your journey, but first you must lay out your map so that you can plot your course.

The millionaire map itself is simple. Identify two specific points on the map; where you are now and where you want to be. Identify the ways in which you can provide value to others, such that they are willing to pay you. Then start developing the habits and characteristics that are unique to millionaires, and are definitely not what you typically think of.

Accept that you will fail numerous times before you get it right. As encouragement, he shares an African proverb. The hunter can make many mistakes but the hunted can only make one. Your millionaire quest is a matter of focus and persistence.

And don’t expect others to get it. Only 3% of the people in the world are millionaires. Develop a millionaire mindset and 97% of the people in the world can’t and won’t understand you. Don’t let that stand in the way of pursuing your dreams though!

If you are content with your life as it currently is, this book is definitely not for you. And there’s no judgment or condemnation in that.

Some of us have been able to craft the life we want without feeling that yearning to be and do something more, and that’s great! The whole point of this exercise is to reach a point of being at peace with the life we are living.

But if there is this unsatisfied longing deep within you to experience more freedom in your life, and to live the life you want without money being a limiting factor, I highly recommend reading this book.

Mr. Stovall will take you through an exploration of your own life that will bring clarity and excitement to what’s ahead for you.

He learned early that if he wanted to be a millionaire one day, he needed to learn from and about millionaires and what makes them different.

Through this book, he offers you the same opportunity. The next move is yours.

Using the old proverbs and the new ways, Jim Stovall guides you through the book to achieve your millionaire wealth, his ideas are mostly is to give a value for people to receive money, to be a continous learner, to choose wisely your professional team, help others.

- You have not because you ask not.
- You can have everything you want if you will just help enough people get what they want.
- A good plan violently executed today is better than a perfect plan next week. "George Patton"
- Poor people have big TVs and small libraries while millionaires have big libraries and small TVs.
- The best thing you can do for poor people is not be one of them. Not all rich people help poor people.
- You can't expand your wallet until you expand your mind.
- Nothing will keep you poor more than trying to appear as if you are a millionaire.
- The only way to earn money is to create value for others.
- Failure is not final. Failure is fertilizer.
- Starting early is the key to financial success.
- If you don't control your budget, no matter how much you obtain, you will never be wealthy.
- Knowledge is the key to wealth.

Very good and made good points totally agree with generational wealth and love the all hat no cattle however, i don’t like his comments that he will only work with millionaires who can prove they earned their money if people had reacted to him when he first started he would not be where he is today I agree you should vet and qualify people you work with but to totally write off non millionaires is a shame

Do you REALLY want to be a millionaire?

The answer may surprise you. This book isn't asking if you want to live as if you are one, but if you want to be one. You will learn what a big difference there is between the two.

Quote from Chapter Two- "Money is a tool that can be used in virtually any way we choose. More than anything else, money represents choices. Money can buy the most useful and beneficial things in the world, or it can purchase frustration and destruction."

This was a very well written book, and I found many of the personal stories very interesting. This book can be summed up by stating that one should follow their entrepreneurial spirit through something about which they are passionate, keep your eyes on the goal, and never give up on your dreams...even if you fail several times along the way.

A couple of his best tips were," Never take advice from anyone who doesn't have what you want.Just pursue your passion and enjoy the journey. Always remember that you can succeed in becoming a millionaire by earning money through serving others, playing great defense, by regulating your spending and investing in things you know and understand."

This book isn't for everyone, but if you want to run your own business, pursue a dream, or have a plan for financial freedom- then this book is definitely for you, even if you don't want to be a millionaire. The author explains that isn't going to be everyone's goal. It isn't mine of which I became sure after reading this book. Thus the three star review. This book, however, might be for you.

I received this book through a The Book Club Network for an honest review which I have given.

Jim Stovall is quick to point out being a millionaire can mean many things. Yes, it is acquiring the monetary status of having millions, but it is just as descriptive as having success by your own definition. This book isn’t for those looking for a get-rich-quick map. Jim Stovall wants to lead you down a path that could lead to millionaire status if the reader is willing to commit and to sacrifice to get what they want. First he describes the path he took to get where he is today, and then he starts the mentoring by laying out a foundation that makes the reader think. Everyone has to have a starting place and it is most important to realize what that is and are you willing to sacrifice, to commit to attain that goal.

His admonishment that no one should take advice from someone that hasn’t walked the walked is simplistically wonderful. How many “financial gurus” are marketing systems to make you rich when they aren’t even rich themselves? How can they teach you to become a millionaire their way if they aren’t even millionaires? It is a simple thought, but how many people throw away money at the latest infomercial promising unguaranteed success?

Jim Stovall stands behind his work and his message. He lists his phone number and other contact information at the end of the book with the invitation that anyone can call him. His message is approachable and doable and surprisingly down to earth.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

First let me say that this book was well written and fun to read. It gave a different perspective in the life of the truly rich and wealthy. I found some of the examples and tips very practical and sound. However I felt the book read more as an autobiography than it did a reference book on how to create your millionaire roadmap. I have read several books on investing, money management and budgeting that was more detailed and helpful in creating my millionaire map than this book. However my biggest challenge with this book is that I was getting a bit tired of the self promotion by Jim Stovall in this book. Every other page or chapter you were constantly reminded how he was a millionaire and all the movies and books he made and all thousand of millionaires he knows. It at times felt narcissistic. While I get that his whole point is learn from someone who is already there, this was just too much. There are definitely other books out there that one might find more useful. But I will say that it has renewed my hopes that I too can achieve what I put my heart and effort into and for that I am happy I read this book.

Would you learn how to perform surgery from someone who's only read about it in textbooks? Probably not...

So, why do we keep trying to learn how to create the life we want from people who aren't living the lives we want?

In The Millionaire Map, Mr. Stovall shares his own journey from being 6-figures in debt and unable to buy a loaf of bread in the '80s to amassing a fortune and living a life free from money concerns.

He offers insight and advice that helps you chart your own course from where you are today to where you want to be, sharing signposts along the way.

While I did receive a free copy of this book for the purposes of writing a review, I found it was exactly what I've been looking for, and didn't even know it. I read all 160-pages of it, and took 6 pages of my own notes and ideas as I read. I couldn't have spent my weekend in a more productive way, and I'm excited to get started on the journey.

“Never accept a map from someone who hasn’t been where you want to go.” “This is the book I wished was available 30 years ago when I was desperate and broke with only a dream of one day being a millionaire. Now, as a multimillionaire, I want to share the wisdom I’ve gained from the journey and provide other travelers with a map to guide them on their journey.”

This book read more like a resume of the author’s credentials, achievements and accolades (which are quite impressive) rather than as a guide for other wishing to become millionaires. While there is some sound financial advice about accumulating wealth, in my opinion, there seemed to be little else of substance. Perhaps

Don't pick up this book thinking that it will provide you that "Map" as the title suggests. Author tries to tell you about qualities and traits that are required by an individual to become Millionaire and stay that way throughout your life. We all know, if you have decent education and some discipline, it is not very difficult to hit that one million mark these days and I am glad that Author makes this point very clear. He also mentions that being a millionaire means different things for different people.

I would say it is a decent book. At times, I felt Author does try to sell the fact that how him being blind hasn't affected to what he has achieved. I haven't read his other works nor do I know him, so I wouldn't want to be entirely negative in my opinion about this point. Having said that, he is also a national champion Olympic weightlifter and of course a Millionaire. It is important for me to know who the Author truly is because he himself mentions in the book "Never accept a map from someone who hasn't been where you want to go".

A quick and easy one time read.

Do you want to be a millionaire?

Don't we all? Wouldn't we all shout out "me" if someone asked us that?

well, it's not that simple. Jim gives us a map to becoming a millionaire. It's not a get rich quick scheme. It requires a lot of work, dedication, commitment and sacrifice. Except, if you are really committed to being a millionaire it won't feel like sacrifice. It will only feel like sacrifice if you are one of the many, like me, who like to have the newest car, the best toys, the big TV, the nice vacations....even if it means pulling out the credit card or getting financing.

after reading this book I realize that I'm not on the path to being a millionaire. I'm so far off the map that I have a lot of work (and sacrifice) to do before I make it to the starting point of the map.

A very valuable and brutally honest book.

Firstly, having never heard of the author, nor of any of his books or films, I read this without preconceptions. It didn't really teach me anything, as I am already careful with my spending habits, but it may be useful to those who throw their money around.

This (brief) book was more about the author talking about himself, and how he got to be a millionaire (as far as I gathered, he was fortunate enough to meet a great mentor, worked as an investment broker, then became a successful author - none of which I would call easily achievable for the average person). I even checked out his website, but the links I tried were broken. I'm sure there must be many better, more substantial, and more useful books on this subject.

If you have to read this book, don't buy it. Borrow it from the library, read it and turn it back in as quickly as possible. It took me about a day to read and I wish I had that day back. This book seemed more like the author's attempt at both promoting and talking about himself. He talks about his achievements and relates stories about when he was a weightlifter in college (because weightlifting equals money, right?) and an old green car he used to own. The valuable advice this book gives takes up about a quarter to a third of the book (if that) and you have to go treasure hunting for those gems. Give this book a pass and read something else instead.

This is not your typical how to get rich book although he does want you to become a millionaire. It is more about the character require to obtain and have wealth. He tells much about his own life as an inspiration for readers. I would say this is not so much a map as it is an arrow pointing in the direction of wealth. People wanting a map will be disappointed. People wanting a general direction will be pleased. See my full review at http://bit.ly/1aQqlDI.

Great book that teaches anyone can become a millionaire. But most will chose not to believe they can, so they won't. Easy read, easy to follow. The author writes like he's having a conversation with you. I highly recommend this book and encourage you to follow his advice.
