Gaming just got a little too real. Josh and Blaine are hardcore gamers, and they spend most of their time playing Zombie Killer 3050- just the two of them and a couple AIs. When they insult the computer players a little too often, the AIs strike back. Suddenly they're in a fight to death in a world they know so well, and not at all. Because losing this game may cost them their lives- or their humanity.
Kay Glass was born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania in 1985. She currently lives in Delaware with her husband, two children, and a house full of pets. When she's not writing she can most commonly be found with either her Kindle, a paperback, or a hardback book in her hands. In her spare time she likes spending time on the beach with her family, swimming, and playing video games.
How many times have you played your favorite video game and thought, "Wouldn't this be so cool if it was real?" I assure you, you'll think twice about that after reading, End Game, by Kay Glass.
Josh and Blaine are your typical childhood buddies, now in college together, who enjoy playing a very popular video game to pass the time in between classes. Like most of us, they tend to get a little irritated by the, seemingly unbeatable, computers they have to play against. On this particular night, after their typical rants are over, something very peculiar starts happening. The next thing they know, they're waking up in a place they've never been before, but are all too familiar with.
This is the first story I've read from Kay, and I'm very pleasantly surprised. Her writing style flows very nicely and she does a terrific job at giving the reader a lot of story in just 33 pages. The concept for End Game is very original and a little terrifying. I may think twice about yelling at the AI's I go up against in video games from now on.
One small criticism.....End Game is not enough! I need more! This could become an excellent novel or perhaps serial. I must know what happens next!! :-D
