Some days, we wake up feeling strong, ready to tackle whatever comes our way. Other days, we need a little extra encouragement—a reminder that we are not alone, that God is faithful, and that His Word speaks into every moment of our lives. That’s why I love Encouragement for Today, a devotional book that offers just the right words at the right time.

Each devotion is a short, heartfelt message filled with Scripture, real-life stories, and practical encouragement to help you navigate the ups and downs of everyday life. Whether you need wisdom, peace, or just a simple reminder of God’s love, this book meets you right where you are.

If you’re looking for a simple way to start your mornings with hope and truth, or if you need a go-to source of encouragement, this is a great option. Perfect for busy seasons, quiet moments with God, or even as a thoughtful gift for a friend who could use a little extra encouragement.

This was an excellent devotional and I enjoyed using it very much. While there was several that weren't applicable to me [about marriage and since my marriage fell apart, I tend to steer clear of those as they just make me feel bad about everything], but most of them were and I learned a lot while using this. I recommend this one to any woman who is looking for a lovely devotional that inspires you to dig deeper into your life and your walk with God in a way that is easy to use. I am glad that I read this one.

Awesome Devotion

This devotion is on different topics and I found that either I could apply it to my life or someone I know. I shared these devotions often at (I am a teacher at a Christian school) work! Each devotion gives more verses into the Bible to read, reflection, and a way to journal your thoughts. I really like how each author writes about their struggles and trials and how they are overcoming obstacles, it is not just me.

A lot of variety in the topic of the daily devotions. Sometimes they were just OK but others were really good so more like 3.5 stars

Each devo starts with the day's Bible verse and then the devotional which are at most 2 pages long, but the majority are just a page long. That is easy to digest in five minutes for a busy mom. I liked the extra bits at the end most: a closing prayer, Remember (the day's takeaway), Reflect (a question to ponder), Respond (your 'activity'), and Power verses (for digging deeper). All are short and sweet and work to bring you deeper into the devotional. This is perhaps the best part of the book for me. Too many devotionals list a verse and a story and BAM. Done. Close book, move on with day. Spending time with God shouldn't be just another checklist item. Adding these 'R's to the devotional encourages us to move throughout our day with the Word on our mind.

What I didn't like about the devotional, was that I was looking for it to go deeper. The devotionals themselves seem light, quick, blog like. I suppose I shouldn't hold that against them. The authors are from Proverbs 31 and each also have individual blogs as well. Thus they write much more personally, relationally. Perhaps I am just more used to devotionals that stick to Bible stories and expanding on the day's verse. Encouragement for Today authors will tell stories about their families and friends and relate it to the verse and God leaving me feeling as if I just read a great blog post.

So...roundabout way of saying good for fans of blog-style writing and who could use devotionals that can be personalized for their lifestyle, but different than usual devotionals. Good writing, God is present, and takeaways to use throughout the day provide everything a woman needs. 4 stars from me!

Encouragement for Today is one of the best devotional books I have ever read. This devotion is written by the Proverbs 31 team and it contains 100 devotions that women can really relate to.

Every woman can use a little encouragement in their life and this is the main theme of the book. Encouragement to find and seek God is all situations whether it be dirty dishes, friendship struggles, marriage issues or just little every day situations. He is with us every single day. All you have to do is seek him and you will find him.

After each story there is a one or two sentence follow up listed under Remember, Reflect and Respond. Each story closes with a Power Verse that pertains to the lesson. I can’t tell you how much I love the verses. This really made me want to have my Bible on hand so I could direct everything back to God.

Renee Swope, Lysa TerKeurst, and Samantha Evilsizer along with the rest of the contributing authors did a fantastic job writing stories that woman in any walk of life could relate to.

Perhaps one of the best things about the book is that although a devotional, it is also a book that you can just pick up at anytime and read when you feel led. It does not list the devotions by date/day. I found myself reading multiple devotions each day.

I would highly recommend this book for all the women in my life. I actually plan to order a few copies to give as gifts when it becomes available on September 24. You can preorder the book through Amazon.

The absolute best Women's Devotional I have ever read. It is so applicable to life today & the many facets of life women face day to day. Such wonderful insight and the subject choices are outstanding. I have read many devotional books over the years, but have never experienced such relevant and encouraging truths. My daughter bought this book for me for Mother's Day & I am so glad she did! She gave me Lisa TerKeurst's newest release "the Best yes", which I am looking forward to reading. Thank you ladies of the "Proverbs 31 Ministries Team" for helping women everywhere with their spiritual walk. God bless you.

So many authors!

I was surprised at how homogeneous each devotional was! You would have thought they were written by the same woman. Trying to decide if that's a good thing or not. I prefer my daily reading to be more meaty. Oswald Chambers this is not, but it will do and was an encouragement.
