Yuri's friends are very different now from when they first joined the Alien Party...and they're not about to let Yuri see the things that they've seen. How can three sixth graders possibly stand up to a daily threat of alien invasion?
It gets even weirder. Now there are RIVAL GANGS of Aliens!? Kasumi's a Yellowknife and a rebel, Kumi's part of Team Drill, and then Yuri gets recruited by the Sunflower Alien gang? Lots more alien versus alien gang war ensues...Yuri becomes estranged from her Borg and there is a long road to see if they can be reunited and reconciled. At least Kumi finally acknowledges her feelings and kisses an unconscious Yuri. "I know you want to be with Yuri and not with me.", Kasumi tells Kumi. Guess I'll press on to read the final volume "Emulators", set in Middle School.

It just gets worse. Horrifically worse. Kasumi is still fused with the Yellow Knife, and is always smiling, no matter how many aliens she horrifically kills. Kumi finally learns that she is no longer human in a heartbreaking way, and both vow to keep Yuri human no matter what. Meanwhile Yuri is in constant danger, as their teacher is pushed to try and speed up the alien program, and a rival to the drill clan arrives on earth with their eye on Yuri.
At times it gets dark to the point of unrealism. Like a nightmare. Why are the adults ignoring this? How does society survive with the aliens? But its still incredibly compelling, and unlike anything else. Violent, dark, with a ton of subtext (the borg more and more are spoken of in sexual terms, with their fusing) it's a wild ride all the way to the end.
I'm not gonna lie, Alien Nine is one of the most intriguing yet creepy, fascinating yet repulsive, mind-bending yet seriously screwed up manga series I have EVER read. In fact, not even just manga, but ANY BOOK I have ever read. It is, to quote Anime Insider, "Funny, shocking, and totally unique."
En general solo dos estrellas, porque en si todo se quedo en expectativa... digo lees la reseña y te imaginas algo súper hardcore y emocionante y.. nada. Ni mensaje, ni emoción, batallas medio aburridas. En fin. esperaba mucho mas.
