Danice Allen is the author of twenty-two romance novels, writing under her own name for Avon and Berkley, and as Emily Dalton for Harlequin Regency and Harlequin American. One of her contemporary novels, WAKE ME WITH A KISS, was named Best Harlequin American of the Year by Romantic Times magazine. Her novels have been sold around the world and translated into many languages, including Chinese.
Danice enjoys researching her novels almost as much as writing them, especially when the research includes travel. She has traveled extensively in the United States and spent some memorable times in Great Britain and Europe exploring castles and countryside.
Danice lives in Utah, but is an avid Anglophile and lover of British literature and history. At the same time, she immensely enjoys stories based in small-town Americana, both to read and write. This shared love for the "old" country and the "new" country made sense to her when her ancestry DNA test revealed that she is very, very British, and that her ancestors came to America with the earliest settlers.
Danice is married and has two sons, one of whom lives in Los Angeles and writes for television. Her other son lives close by with his wife and two children, which makes for many fun family gatherings.
Danice loves to read, travel, do in-depth family history research, walk and shop.
The description of the book I am listing below is from the back jacket of the book. I'm adding it because I believe the one on the Goodreads page does not depict this story.

Great second book in the series. Very well written and I used my dictionary a fair bit which is always a good thing. The romance is passionate and sizzling and the characters were all charming. Loved the three dogs in this one. Finished reading this book in the wee hours this morning. Naughty of me but I couldn't help it!
This is the sequel to Remember Me, and it was equally enjoyable. This time, the focus was on the love story between Samantha and Julian, that developed after Jack and Amanda have tied the knot and were honeymooning in a faraway country.
It was refreshing to read a love story set centuries ago, given the vintage setting, the very polite manner of speaking, with everything in place, where etiquette and proper behaviour were deemed very important; not to mention the old English words I've learned. Reading such books is like studying history in a more pleasant manner. However, I sometimes get exasperated over the characters' dilly-dallying. It was of course one of the character traits of most proper people at the time - reserved and conservative.
It's very true that people's characters adjust with time. The relaxed demeanor of the generation of people like the ones in the book matched the slower times of centuries gone by. Compare it with the fast-paced rhythm of life as we know it today matched with our generation's liberated outlooks and ways, it is truly welcome to slow things down through books such as this one.
The thing I loved about this story is it is light hearted all the way through. A ward (Samantha) whose in the care of Julian to teach her the fine arts of being a lady, Sam is Julians sister in laws illegitimate half sister whom she discovered after the death of her father and wanted Sam as a part of her life. Sam when found wore buys cloths and was rather neglected in her upbringing on an island where her father dumped her when she was born. Sam is 19 and Julia 35. For Sam it was love at first sight, for Julian it was a task to bring her up to scratch for for him to introduce her to her come out into society. Sam is out spoken and a real innocent. But willing to learn how she can get Julian to fall in love with her. Sam brings a lot of smiles in the story with her antics, and you just have to love her ways. Julian is the complete opposite, straight up and down and in complete control of his emotions. But Sam knows under that starched exterior is a soft loving man that she is determined to being to the surface. This is a jolly good story, and Sam's antics are amusing.
This book made me laugh, asks the age old question "do men realise what they have in front of them"...this book is full of spirit...Sam is way ahead of the times, in her actions and thinking and is a breathe of fresh air, Julian is stuffy and proper on the outside but Sam can see beyond that....makes for a lovely read
This book took me a day to read because I just could not put it down. I liked this one better than the last, but I have to admit I think I liked Jack and Amanda better. I would really love to read a third book on how life plays out for them.
