An excellent, well written, practical, discourse on change. Since my vision is one centered on the creation and training of agents of change I particularly found the last section of this book helpful to me as it touched on "The Mindset of a Change Agent" and other practical principles of how leaders initiate and respond to change. A must read for every leader !
Just an excellent work by Dr. Munroe. I wish I had read this before May 2011, when all hell broke loose in my life. This is full of great and timely principles.
This book has been amazing....I cant believe I have finished it....The teachings on change were amazing and mind-opening...One major lesson that I have learnt is that I shouldn't feel threatened by change....Change brings out the real me and tests my true maturity....I should learn how to interpret change and strive to see the positives in it, no matter how negative it is and use it for my benefit and others. Moreover, the only way I can master the changes of my life is to study them so as to find a favorable way of responding to it rather than reacting to it negatively or just watching it happen....The most profound words that Dr. Munroe uses to define change are found in page 189..."Change is inevitable...Change is necessary...Change is possible...Change is here...What will you do with change?.... also on page 193 when he says..."A negative past does not cancel out the possibility of a positive future" and my favorite quote of his in page 195..."To interpret change means to recognize the bigger picture of what is happening in the midst of that change..." :-) To all the emerging leaders out there, I highly recommend this book to you....it is a must-have to add in your management books collection....:-)
Myles Munroe in this eye-opening piece unravels the mysteries of change, pointing out that the creator himself ordained change from the outset, and that we should and must expect change in order to fulfill our purposes on earth. He challenges the reader to be open to change, trusting firmly in God, and ready to maximise the benefits of change as it unfolds. As the title expresses, the author unveils several universal principles that drive change, noting that our opinions do not count when it comes to the principles set in motion by the almighty God, such as day and night, summer and winter, etc. It is a book I recommend for Nigerians in particular, who should rightly position themselves to reap the benefits of the change we are currently experiencing in the country.
True freedom is the result of understanding and receiving the truth about yourself and other people in relation to your creation in God's Word...Freedom is a personal discovery of the truth about God and about yourself from the God who created and redeemed you. Thus, freedom is not bestowed on us. We embrace it.
Highly recommended! In a world of rapid globalization and economic instability Myles Munroe gives practical and timeless principles on how to manage change in the 21st century.
