Book six in Were Chronicles Series
If you loved Influential Magic (Crescent City Fae) by Deanna Chase and Skin Leto by Susan Bliler then you will not be able to put down this absolute treat!
A pack divided…brought together by love.
Nikki Stratton returns to her Pack to find it split in half between the new Alpha and the older members of the Pack. Worse, there is talk about her oldest brother challenging for the Alpha position. Taking matters in her own hands, she meets with the Alpha’s brother RJ. She had no idea they would end up on the floor of his shop—hot, naked, and sweaty.
RJ Cross supports his brother one hundred per cent, so when Nikki contacts him to find a solution to the Pack problems, he is relieved. He might even be able to come up with some decent ideas if he could keep his hands off Nikki.
As final preparation begin for the taking of the shifter world, Nikki and RJ must use everything at their disposal to bring their Pack together…and hopefully get their happily ever after.
Crissy Smith
Crissy Smith lives in Texas with her husband, daughter, and three Labrador retrievers. The three dogs love to curl up under her computer desk and nap while she writes. It doesn't leave a lot of room for her but what's a woman to do?
When not writing or reading, she enjoys hunting, camping and shooting. But she has a girly side too and is addicted to pedicures and coffee.
I live in Texas with my husband, daughter, and three Labrador retrievers. By day you can find me at my 'day job' buried under a pile of paperwork but at night I am at my computer creating new worlds!
I have always loved the paranormal. Shape-shifters, witches, and vampires have been my number one choice of reading material so when I strated to write it was the genre I chose.
I currently have several books released through Totally Bound. I have one long running series the Were Chronicles and in March 2014 a spin-off series the Shifter Chronicles will be revealed.
I also have several stand alone novellas and novels.
I am working hard to bring more stories to the readers so they can sit back and relax while losing themselves in the paranormal romance world.
I feel like a flip flop, lol. I really wasn't crazy about the book right before this one, but really liked this one. The whole series as a whole is telling a story, even though the couples from the previous books don't make further appearances. I still say the first book was my favorite of the series so far, but this one was good too. Perfect in between read.
Not as good as some of the other books but still enjoyable.
The reason for the extra half star was because there was a moment when the heroine completely kicked ass and I loved it. I'm sick of so many heroines being pushed into the background so she can be protected or the heroine doing something and end up needing to be rescued by the hero. There was a scene in this where she protected herself and the hero
It was so awesome and you don't see if happen often enough in books. And this heroine isn't described as manly or muscular like some authors do when trying to portray a strong heroine. A lot of authors need to realise the strength of the heroine comes from her action, not her physical characteristics.
RJ is finally coming home after serving in the military for years. His brother is about to be made Alpha of their new pack and he is need there to help with the transition. After traveling for years he is happy to be able to settle down with his family. When he meets Nikki, the sister of a dominate in the pack, he is instantly attracted to her and wants to get to know her more. Things get complicated when it seems like her brother will challenge for the right to be Alpha. But if Nikki and RJ work together then maybe they can get their families to see reason and settle the pack without violence.
I really loved Nikki and RJ. We meet RJ in book five when he is helping rescue and protect the feline Prince. He’s a tatted six foot five mountain of a man that is extremely sexy. One of my favorite aspects of this series is the characters are generally very accepting when they find their mates. They welcome the discovery of a mate and don’t spend time lamenting the lose of freedom or and of that nonsense. They bask in the love and acceptance of their mate while getting things done. In this case, RJ and Nikki had to make sure that their brothers didn’t fight in a challenge since it was unlikely that they would both survive.
The last few books dealt with outside forces attacking the packs or shifters. I loved how this book focused on the dynamics of a pack. Specifically integrating two packs and one Alpha stepping down while naming his successor. A lot of other variables where at work in this book that made it stand out to me, in a good way, from the rest of the series. This is probably my favorite so far in the series.
One thing that does bother me with this series is the multitude of characters. In each book we are introduced to a lot of characters and many don’t appear in subsequent books. I often get confused about who’s who when I am reading. I can’t remember if the character is from another book, was introduced in this book or what their role is in this one. This book wasn’t as confusing since it focuses mainly on RJ and Nikki’s families but there are still a lot of other characters mentioned. I sometimes feel like I should make a spreadsheet to keep track of them all. However, I do still really enjoy the series. I just want all the characters mentioned to find their mates.
This is book six in the Were Chronicles series and while this book can be read as a stand alone since most of the characters are new, it is best read in order to fully appreciate the world that has been built. There is also the continuing plot line of the shifters coming out to the world and it comes to a head in this novella.
It was an okay read for me. Not what I had in mind tho but nonetheless good. It was just too fast I guess and the plot's too cliche'. Anyways, I still find it okay for a shifter story. I just wished it focuses more on the MCs relationship rather than the whole family pack business.
These books have amazing characters that you fall in love with from the get go. I am already looking forward to the next book now. I hope the author writes more.
