CLAMP originally began in 1989 as a twelve-member dōjinshi circle, but by 1990, the circle had diminished from twelve to seven. Of the remaining seven, Tamayo Akiyama, Sei Nanao, and Leeza Sei left the group during the production of the RG Veda manga. Other former members of CLAMP also included Soushi Hishika, O-Kyon, Kazue Nakamori, Yuzuru Inoue and Shinya Ōmi. Currently, there are four members in the group.

In 2004, CLAMP's 15th anniversary as a mangaka group, the members changed their names from Nanase Ohkawa, Mokona Apapa, Mick Nekoi, and Satsuki Igarashi to Ageha Ohkawa, Mokona, Tsubaki Nekoi and Satsuki Igarashi (her name is pronounced the same, but written with different characters) respectively. The August 2004 issue of Newtype USA, a magazine specializing in events of the anime and manga subcultures, reported that the members of CLAMP simply wanted to try out new names. In a later interview with Ohkawa, it was revealed that initially Mokona wanted to drop her surname because it sounded too immature for her liking, while Nekoi disliked people commenting that her name was the same as Mick Jagger's. Ohkawa and Igarashi, wanting to go with the flow of Nekoi's and Mokona's name changes, changed their names as well.

In 2006, they made their first USA public debut at Anime Expo in Anaheim, California. They were well received at the convention, with 6,000 fans in attendance at their panel.

My hardback copy has 207 pages.

I've had this for ages and decided to give it a re-read. Still cute, but I've always been a fan of CLAMP's artistry. Granted, this is more on the child-like side and is meant to be a picture book, target age children. There are images sporadically placed (not always per chapter) and it's largely dialogue driven. I can't attest to the English translation as I've never read it but at least in Japanese there is a distinction in speech/word choices to clarify who is speaking. I imagine that wasn't so easy to translate. The seasons (and various holiday traditions) are introduced to the title characters which was weirdly informative like the custom of Midsummer greetings I've definitely seen and admired those beautiful postcards in my many forays into various stationary stores but always assumed they were just seasonal variations. How wrong I was! Perhaps I'll send some out myself next year.

Additionally it would help readers if they have some knowledge of (or have read) series like Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, XXX-Holic, Card Captor Sakura, and Magic Knight Rayearth to perhaps get all of the character references within the story.

Clow and Yuko together, explaining everything to newly made Soel & Larg - Yue & Kerberos playing with them like older siblings - this is so adorable.

CLOW AND YUKO TOGETHER - seriously, this is all I need

This is a children's book. I would appreciate if someone had just told me that. Beautiful images and almost no text at all. I don't know if the translation ruined it, but it's just silly. And if you don't know about Clamp's universe (XXXHolic, Tsubasa and a bit about Rayearth), you will be lost.
