This was a brave attempt. The entire book is a catalogue of Swati's 'dates' with propective bridegrooms. This is not unlike the online dating you find in other books. Here the meeting is through some of the popular matrimonial match up sites in India. The language was casual with liberal doses of Hindi. I am not in favor of those kinds of books but I can see the appeal in other readers and the author clearly has a target audience in mind.

Society is not really kind to a 29 year old unmarried RJ in Delhi and she feels the time is right to get married and the book captures all the funny escapades and awkward meetings with strangers, quite hilariously. What this book lacks in finesse it makes it up with a lot of heart and a fiesty, self loving heroine. By the time you reach the end of the book you marvel at the level of indifference she reaches due to her past experiences and you just know she deserves to find the right person. The book captures awkward conversations quite well and the men in the book make you feel appalled that we are in the midst of some really strange and judgemental people. Swati is severely judgemental too, and her inner monologues made me cringe sometimes but overall she's pretty level headed and when she does meet the groom in the end you are happy for her. There were a myriad of characters and all of them made a mark, distasteful or otherwise. Good attempt and the author could fine tune her writing a bit more as embarks on future books :)

My 1st reaction to this novel is Hahaahaahaaaaa... All of us watch comedy shows and have seen people make us laugh as an audience. They put their entire effort to charm the audience. Books are a different entity all together. Laughter & Books go hand in hand very rarely and that too at the expense of finding the right person for yourself.

You pick up this one and there's no putting down. It'll make you laugh at each and every page and you will fall down from your bed after series of laughable content in the book.

It has been written and scripted very well and the idea has perfectly fit into a proper work. While I'm typing this review I still have a huge smile on my face.

A girl's plight in finding the right partner for herself has been penned down beautifully with the mixture of wit, humor and loads of Delhi ka tadaka and some typical Delhi type conversations. It'll make you laugh enough to fix your mood and brighten up your smile.

It's a perfect theme and entirely different from what we have seen in the current Indian Writing Scenario.

Congratulations for the debut novel and keep enthralling our readers.

By Neeta Iyer. Grade A

Now, when was the last time you went on a date? Yeah! I am talking about all you unmarried dudes and gals. This book is THE book for you – all about dating, getting to know that someone special – searching for the right soul mate in your life.

When I commenced reading the book, it did not raise too many expectations. After all, I thought: What could yet another book about love add to the vast ocean of Indian novels dealing with the age old emotion? It was bound to be a stereotype novel filled with lovelorn characters and all, I thought. But, I was pleasantly surprised! Find-Love.com is not exactly about a love affair that springs up or blooms on the internet. In fact, it is hardly connected with the world of internet excluding perhaps the occasional interludes on Facebook.

So, what exactly is the book about? As I mentioned earlier, it is all about getting to know THE someone who could become your future mate but yes, not via the cupid channel but through the age-old method of telling relatives, placing matrimonial advertisements in newspapers and of course, the latest method of setting up profiles on matrimonial websites.

Swati Kannan is the main protagonist whose mother is hell bent on procuring for her daughter a Punjabi munda but the problem is that inspite of having everything in place (…the attire and matching jewellery, the venue, catering service, beauty parlour, guest house, photographer…) the only thing missing is the groom.

By the time you complete the book you realize that getting married is not at all an easy affair. Each chapter takes you into the midst of a probable relationship, raising hopes, keeping you wondering,
“What’s gonna happen next?”

“Is he the one?”

Each chapter is a story in itself perceived from the viewpoint of a woman all ready to settle down in life but still awaiting for the ‘ghanti’ to ring which takes its own sweet time. Every time!

So, you might wonder: Wouldn’t one get hassled and fed up of the whole system of trying to get to know someone in the name of a probable marriage only to realize that the person does not fit the bill? The answer lies in the protagonist’s optimistic and ever smiling belief system that makes her smile even as she struggles, giving her reasons to laugh and begins hunting for eligible bachelors time and again!

Neeta Iyer’s book is a sweet one. Looks autobiographical spiced with lovely wit that arises even in the most distressing of circumstances. An entertaining read for all irrespective of the fact whether you are married or not, whether you WANT to get married or not, whether you are going for dates or not!

A fun loving book! Hats off to Neeta for making the whole process of searching a bridegroom look less of an issue, more of a humorous hassle – ego, commitment insecurity and all!

A very interesting story, which discovers a humorous side of an otherwise serious business of groom hunting for any Indian bride...

This is the debut novel by Neeta Iyer. The story is about ‘Swati Kannan’ who is on hunt of finding right life partner for herself. The different encounter which most of the time out to be failure one after another. The story showcase various colors of life and also rediscover the small everyday joys, self esteem and a female’s own individuality which at times get blurred and comprised when any Indian girl falls to find a right life partner for herself.

Each and every episode of ‘Swati’s’ encounter with various eligible bachelor is been written very well with complete humour and wittiness in it not to forget the conversations with general lingo which added another feather in the cap for authoress.

Towards the end story progressively turns into love story, the climax was quite interesting with twists and turns. To unfold the same you need to read this book.

Now my Positive viewpoints:

The concept of the story is really something new and absorbing. This is a great achievement by the authoress for writing such a beautiful work of fiction. Even the climax of the story has been scripted well.

Some suggestive points:

Overall the book is good and very well expressed. However at some places the narration becomes to descriptive, could have been cut short by few. (Just a suggestion)

Final words:

Overall if asked I would say...this is an tremendous job done by Authoress (Neeta iyer) … I would give 4 stars to this book.

One would wonder why did it take so long for someone to write a book on this ever popular subject of Matchmaking. Thankfully our wait is over and boy! didn't we hit the jackpot. Author Neeta Iyer delivers a masterpiece with the tale of Swati Kannan who is on a roller coaster ride of the most hilarious groom hunt. Her encounters while being heartbreaking and tragic are juxtaposed so brilliantly with humor that you can't help but marvel at the author's debut. throughout the book I found myself shaking my head in disbelief over the eccentricities of the characters or bursting into laughter. Even if you haven't experienced the online world of matrimonial first hand I would still recommend this book to everyone. It's so easy to relate to the characters and the situations as we all have been in relationships with weirdos (read people) and have those amazing relatives who never stop from depriving you from the little joys of single life.
If nothing else this book will act as your guidebook if you're planning to jump into the online matrimonial world and maybe you will not feel so alone as I imagine this is no walk in the park.
I can't remember if I have ever finished a book in one go and I don't call myself an avid reader but this is the exception. A must buy and I guarantee you won't regret it - That's right, I said it, I meant it, I'm here to represent it.

I'm supposed to be too old to read such books, since I am a pompous old man.

So why did I like it?

Its fresh, original and fun. There is nothing pretentious or forced. Humour, a chirpy way of bouncing back from disappointments that might have made someone else feel rather bad - it makes you want to keep reading.

The end was a shade abrupt but then again, maybe I felt that way because I wanted to read more. haha!

I could whine about the Hindi phrases a bit, but that would be unfair. They work very well and add some zing.

Well done Neeta! I hope you become a best-selling and critically acclaimed author but I also hope it doesn't go to your head; such fresh happy writing shouldn't be tainted with the weight of experience!! haha!

Thank you Neeta for writing this book !

As a young woman, I could so relate to everything the author written. The emotions, the dilemma of finding the right match.. it is so apt. Of course, not to forget the humour. This is one book that all age groups will be able to relate to. The author has subtly, in a dignified way, commented on the hypocritical practices prevalent in Indian society. Men, I feel would enjoy reading the book as much as I did. The name is mushy but trust me the book is not, this is one book you must read, whether or not you are married, whether or not you desire to get hitched.. You will learn a thing or two about human behaviour and this book is sure to bring a smile on your face by the end of it all...

Thank you Neeta.. I am still smiling :) Cheers !

The book, which is a satire on matrimonial websites, offers a good read through the funny encounters Swati, the lead character of this book, makes while being on a hunt for the right candidate for her marriage. The incidents are narrated well and often the readers can relate to them. Realistic, humorous, ironic are the words you may utter while reading them. The author has deployed a interactive style of writing and the reader is spared of any monotonous description irrelevant to the story. The real joy of reading, in this novel, comes from the journey and not the ending – and this is one thing that I like most in novels – being with the author and not rushing ahead.
