The first book from up-and-coming writer Bill Winchester. Winchester, who has a large online following, has been published in several independent literary journals. This collection of poems serves as a reflection upon youth.
I read Paperback Heart and ordered this book the next day after I had read Paperback Heart. I couldn't put it down, there are so many poems one can relate to.
Bill Winchester was my favorite Tumblr poet when I was fifteen or sixteen, and this book of poems has been sitting on my bookshelf as I have moved from place to place since then. I've finally gotten around to reading it, and I know realize how truly terrible this poetry is. I still loved it. My two favorite poems were "a disappearing act" and "adolescent". Winchester has a way of making all women tragic and all adult life romantic.
