Rate this book
Morgan Amburgy is twenty four years old. She lives in Rochester, Kentucky where she tries to survive day to day without succumbing to a constant depression that threatens to take over. She struggles with the loss of a beloved friend who was taken all too soon during high school, but with the help of her friends she carries on.

Things become weird when Morgan is suddenly able to see her best friend. But it's not the one with a pulse. She begins to question her sanity as she demands answers from everyone else instead of seeking it from the one person who could clear up everything in the first place. Herself.

I have read other books by this author, and had no idea what to expect as she seems able to change topic, style, and setting very well. I have enjoyed her other books. This one did not let me down! It is a very emotional and moving story centered around a small town girl named Morgan. I found Morgan to be a very relatable character and I was quickly drawn in to the imagery coming to life! Anyone should be able to relate to this book! I would feel it is even a good YA choice, there is a small bit of language, but mostly a clean tale. Any person who has struggled with emotional loss will appreciate this book. There were some beautiful moments that nearly stopped my heart and had me grinning like a loon. I also cried, the nose sniffling and vision blurred sort of cry! That is not a state I like to be in, and not my first pick for a book to read. However, I feel it speaks highly of the talent of T.E. Ridener as a writer! She made me a participant...not just an onlooker! THAT is MY idea of a GREAT BOOK!! Strongly recommend :)

I'm on a bit of a Ridener reading rage, and this has been sat on my kindle since dec last year, so thought I'd best get to it!

Morgan lost her friend Millie 7 years ago. She's been plodding along since then. then, Millie appears to her, and Morgan thinks she is losing the plot. Is Millie really dead? Does Morgan need more meds?? and what does it all mean??

I really liked this! it fluffs along, at its own sweet pace, and I had NO IDEA where it was going. Now, sometimes that's a bad thing for me, as I don't like to be left hanging til the end for the plot to develop BUT BUT here?? I didn't notice I had no idea, til right near the end. and that ending.....shocking! Like I said, DID NOT see that one coming!! Morgan is likable, and believable, as are the other characters. no sex or violence, but some language and difficult subjects, so I'd say 16+.

for a first published book, 5 stars.(minor editing not accounted for, as it is minor)
for that ending, Ms Ridener, 4 stars. not happy, at all!
so 4.5 stars x

When I find a great author I just read, read, read. I'm an all or nothing kind of gal. I'm like this in my life in general. OK, enough about me, this isn't a biography. This book is Ridener's first published work. It was published a few years ago. There are a few minor editing snafus-OVERLOOK them. I'm a stickler for these things. I'm a Virgo and a perfectionist when it comes to these things. I promise I am not raving about this author for no reason. The content is solid and consistent. Her writing just keeps getting better. The plot is great and mysterious. I feel like that is her writing style, it's mysterious so you have to pay attention so you wont miss anything. Also, this book is written in the first person, unlike her other books. Even with the editing snafus I am still giving this 5 stars. I'm sorry, when the content is that solid sometimes you have to overlook small errors-especially when it's a young authors first work.

Holy soap box! Back to The Rochester Reaping shall we?

Morgan Amburgy is 24 and lives in the small town of Rochester. She has a great little group of friends and a smoking hot boyfriend, Jarret. They had a tragedy seven years ago and they have been trying to live their lives as best as they can. What they don't know is that tragedy is going to strike again!

After reading other books by this talented author, I didn't bother reading anything about it, I was told tissues & chocolate would be required! & that was it.
I'm glad I just jumped straight into this blind. It's a totally different style of writing than what I've read from the author & I absolutely, again loved every word written.
Emotional roller coaster, heartfelt highs & lows. The ending wow that was not at all what I expected & oh my word an absolutely beautifully written story.
This is one book that has touched my heart & yes there were tears & now I need chocolate.
Miss Ridener you are without doubt a very clever & talented writer. Thank you xx

I really enjoyed this book. It was the first that I have read by this author, and it did not disappoint. The story is very descriptive and well-written. The characters and their interaction was very good too. I loved reading about how they dealt with tragedy and changes in different ways. Of course, I especially liked Morgan, even in her crazy, paranoid moments!

This book should be a five star book, but I couldn't get over the ending. It was so abrupt in comparison to the detail of the rest of the story. Overall, still loved it and will definitely be reading more from Ms. Ridener!!
