I’m all about bonus scenes! I loved reading some Vane POV’s since there weren’t any in the Vicious Lost Boys series.

The standalone short story was a ᴅᴇᴄᴇɴᴛ read.

I really enjoyed Nikki St. Crowe’s Ink & Feathers. As part of her Patreon, I received a special edition of this bonus scene anthology and honestly, both covers are stunning.

I’m a big fan of the Vicious Lost Boys, House Roman and Midnight Harbor (Hot Vampire Next Door series. So, getting extra scenes for these series naturally sucked me back in to each world. And there is a sneak peek of the new Devourer of Men series that is set in the same world as the Vicious Lost Boys.

My favorite of this anthology is the Black Bird & Grey Hearts stand-alone short story (originally published as Fortune). We have mafia, magic, vampires, demons set in a city ruled by Killian Greyson. Then we have twenty-four year old orphan Ms. Hillside who was sent to him to tell him his future. Killian and Ms. Hillside have an instant connection. Their spice was super hot and built into the storyline. I really hope this short story is turned into a full length book or series because this story left me wanting for more. As a Patreon member, we were treated to the audiobook of the Black Bird & Grey Hearts and it did not disappoint.

If you’ve read any of these series, give Ink & Feathers a read. You won’t regret it.

It feels like cheating because I only read the bonus scenes for the vicious boys series, but I ate up those scenes as much as I did the actual books. Have they actually been in the books? I think I might have simply keeled over.

I didn't read all of this, but listened to "Black Birds and Grey Hearts"... there just wasn't a way to mark only that as read.

I loved the Peaky Blinders aspect of it all. It is short, sweet, and real hot. It makes me want to track down the rest of the stories but more importantly the origins of where this short story comes from. :)

Plus there is a bonus scene that will now run on a loop in my mind until the end of time. Holy fucking hot.

I have read literally everything Nikki has written so far and and have LOVED IT ALL. This is pretty rare for me. Even some of my favorite authors have misses for me.

But Nikki has a writing style that flows so well. Her pacing is absolutely on point. And of course her characters and stories are phenomenal and imaginative. Oh and she knows how to mix in smoking hot smut to her stories as well.

So yeah, I had to pick this bonus scene anthology up because I get to check in with all of my favorite characters!

Vicious Lost Boys: The Morning After (5 stars)

This scene takes place directly before Chapter 30 in The Dark One (book two). This is the morning after Vane chases Winnie in the Neverland forest and they finally take a huge step forward in their relationship having learned how to handle Vane’s shadow.

A steamy scene between Winnie and Vane. They are smoking hot together! And I loved the emotional connection we feel between them too.

I’ve always thought Winnie favored Vane, which I’m not a huge fan of in RH’s, but for this scene it was good. Definitely a winner!

Vicious Lost Boys: Strip Poker (5 stars)

This scene does take place outside of the timeline. This is also the scene where Bash first refers to Vane as “Daddy”!

This one features Winnie playing strip poker with Bash. She’s losing…terribly, when Vane shows up. Once her clothes are gone (because of all the losing), they up the ante the next round.

Another hot and steamy scene! I loved the playfulness between them all. I still think she favors Vane too much, but I can’t say I blame her because he is super delicious.

Vicious Lost Boys: Girl Stuff (4 stars)

This scene took place outside of the timeline.

Winnie needs to go back to her world for…girl stuff (i.e. birth control). So she asks Pan to take her. Since it’s too close to sunrise, he can’t go so he has Vane take her. When she finally spills the beans that she’s there for contraceptives, he flips out.

This was alright. Kind of funny in some ways. It’s also fun “seeing” Vane from outside perspectives (like the doctor and receptionist). In the end she didn’t even get what she went there for. lol

Vicious Lost Boys: Brunch (4 stars)

In this scene, Winnie has talked the boys into going to brunch in her world.

Winnie manages to not only get the guys to go to her world for brunch, but they end up at a quaint little tea house. And of course, they stick out like a sore thumb, especially when they get possessive when one of Winnie’s exes shows up.

I liked this one and it started off fun and cute. Like with Vane going with her to the doctor in the last story, I enjoyed seeing them interact in the “normal” world. That was entertaining. I also liked that all of them were in this story. The cucumber thing was…a little weird though. lol

Vicious Lost Boys: Halloween Special (4 stars)

Halloween and fairytales and more running and chasing! We also meet another fairytale character as yet unseen in the main Lost Boy series.

The boys dress up Winnie as a slutty Snow White for Halloween and go to a party at The Pied Piper’s (aka Pip’s) house. While there, they play a predator/prey game where they are the huntsman chasing Snow White (her).

This was entertaining and super hot! But 4 stars because I seriously needed more. I wanted to see their WHOLE NIGHT! Not just one part of it. I seriously wanted to follow them when they left to go trick-or-treating, dammit! This definitely could’ve been a little longer!

Vicious Lost Boys: Vane Speaks (3 stars)

The first time Vane speaks! (aka gets a POV). Vane is a complicated man, with trauma and fears and strong opinions.

I actually never even realized that Vane never got a POV in the series. For some reason I didn’t notice that? Or maybe I did and I forgot? I don’t know. But this was a VERY BRIEF little tidbit from his head about his feelings towards Winnie.

It was sweet and somewhat revealing, but it also didn’t add very much to his character. It was just too short. I’d rather have his POV while interacting with Winnie than just meditating on his feelings about her.

Vicious Lost Boys: The Spitting Scene From Vane’s POV (4 stars)

This is the infamous “spitting scene” told from Vane’s POV, starting with the Lost Boy bonfire where Pan eventually rips out a Lost Boy heart.

This scene was both hilarious and devastating at the same time when I first read it. From Vane’s POV, it helps to know about how he’s struggling with his feelings for her. I liked it. And it was hot! :)

Also I’m curious about Zia. I don’t remember her from the series and since she’s heading back to Vane and Roc’s island, I’m wondering if she will appear in Roc, Hook, and Wendy’s book(s)? Could be cool.

Note: It’s weird that this series is called “Wrath & Rain” on Amazon for the individual books, but the omnibus (and this) calls it “Wrath & Reign”. Considering her name is “Rain”, this doesn’t make much sense? Weird.

Wrath & Reign: Wrath Bonus Epilogue (3 stars)

This bonus epilogue takes place directly after Ruthless Demon King (book one in the Wrath & Reign series).

I really loved this series so it was nice to be back with Wrath and Rain for a little bit. I do wish it had been a scene of them interacting though because their interactions are the best.

I still liked it, but it didn’t add much to the series.

Wrath & Rain: A Demon King Watches a Baking Show (3 stars)

Rain has managed to talk the stubborn, brooding demon king into watching Great British Bake-Off.

Okay I adore Wrath and Rain as a couple. They have such hilarious banter and are so entertaining. But imagining The Demon King watching a baking show is tops. Picturing his face. It’s just hilarious.

This would’ve been a perfect little story if it didn’t cut off when it got to the sex! What they hey, Nikki! I know you can write a mean steam scene so no cheating! lol

This bonus takes place directly after A Dark Vampire Curse.

A Dark Vampire Curse was easily my least favorite book by Nikki St. Crowe. It wasn’t BAD, but not nearly as good as her other books.

This epilogue is a short little scene about Rhys realizing how happy he is with Emery now that the curse is gone. And honestly I forgot a lot about this book, even after re-reading my review. So it was just okay.

Black Birds & Grey Hearts (2 stars)

A standalone short story. This particular world in this short story is an alternate world where vampires and witches and demons are out and one man rules the city with no power in his blood (allegedly), but plenty in his name.

A strange and kind of confusing short story. The main character is a woman who delivers fortunes (good and bad) to those who she is directed to visit by her owner, who is a witch.

The whole setup was really confusing and underdeveloped. I did like the gothic atmosphere of it though, that was cool. But I also would’ve liked something more finished. What happens to Raven and Killian? What was his fortune? So much was just left hanging.

I am a die hard Crow Hoe. I love all of Nikki’s work and this anthology did not disappoint.

I loved every second of being back in the all the lives of Nikki’s characters. There was such good spice and I genuinely almost teared up just being back with Wrath and Reign and Rhys and Emery.

The Vicious Lost Boys were top notch as always worshipping Win. It was perfection, especially getting to see more sides of Vane.

I can’t wait for Devourer of Men. If it’s written by Nikki St Crow, you better believe I will read it and have a physical copy on my shelf.

I'll be honest, I bought this book for more Vane, but I stuck around for more Crocodile too. I loved all of the bonuses for the other books of course, but I definitely had a motive here. The only one I didn't care for so much was Black Birds and Grey Hearts. The concept was interesting, magical Peaky Blinders, but it fell short. It was just kinda weird. And the name Killian? Come on now, there could have been just a little more creativity on that. But overall not upset, and so, so excited for Devourer of Men!

Honestly, I'm a whore for the Lost Boys and can never get enough, and as such this book was EVERYTHING. It had THE spicy scenes I didn't know I needed!!! The spitting scene from vanes POV, yes please! A magical brunch scene, it was absolutely delicious. Strip poker where "Daddy Vane" actually comes out of Bash's mouth, I was dead. The only thing I am left wanting is more...I will always want more Vane. More Pan. More lost boys...

I only read the Vicious Lost Boys bonus chapters since I haven’t read Nikki’s other series. But omg they were so good.

The strip poker game, love. Brunch, love. Vane going off on someone for slut shaming Winnie, love. The Halloween party, love. Vanes pov, LOVE.

I went feral for this series and read it so quickly and now I’m itching for anything I can get with these characters.

I’m so excited for Devourer of Men book 2!!

Vicious Lost Boys is one of my favorite series so every bonus scene was great. Especially the spitting scene in Vane's point of view!

I was so happy to have at least two scenes in Wrath's point of view for the demon king series. I was disappointed that those books were only in Rain's point of view.

The Dark Vampire Curse bonus scene was okay. Honestly that whole book disappointed me so I wasn't expecting much.

The Black Birds and Grey Hearts short was such a tease! I want more!

There is honestly something about Nikki's writing that I adore in my heart and soul. Reading the POVs and/or featured scenes of Vane and Wrath, who are two of my favorite MMCs, just *does* something to me. And I will do unholy things for the full story of Killian and Raven. I legit read these all as comfort reads, so take that for what it is.

I have to go with 3.5 stars here so I rounded up for my rating.

I loved LOVED the dark Peter Pan 'Vicious Lost Boys' series. It's one of my favorite series reads. Dark and twisted and so so wrong.

That being said, I am very thankful that these scenes were not in those books. I didn't feel that anything would have added to the story, in fact, I felt as though it almost would have taken something away.

I am going to read Wrath and Reign, and after I do I will come back and read those two bonus scenes. But, for now, I did skip over them.

This is my review and opinion of these bonus scenes you are entitled to yours. I think it's a matter of what tropes and kinks you like and some of these were not for me.

These stories were the perfect companion to their whole stories and reading them gives you just a smaller glimpse at their every day lives.
Especially when Win takes her boys to brunch in the human world.

I loved getting to read all the VLB bonus scenes. My favorites were brunch, Halloween, and girl stuff. I’m looking forward to get more of Croc in the Devourer of Men and seeing where that goes. The possibility of a Vane POV “book” has me beyond excited! I skipped over the Wrath and Reign segment because I haven’t read it yet but will come back to it once I do. I cannot wait for Black Birds and Grey Hearts! I need more of Killian and Raven ASAP!

I read the kindle book and there were a million typos that I’m hoping will be fixed for the paperback. Either way, I will definitely be getting it.

Having a physical copy of this book is amazing. Being able to go back and reread some of the spiciest scenes she has written all in one book. Fantastic. But you need to have read most of her work to understand what is happening in the different scenes since they are bonus ones.

it was fun. I didn't know it would have bonus chapters for books that weren't the neverland ones. so I didn't read the stuff that I wasn't familiar with. I will leave it for future I guess, I might not get to it in months. 4* because Idk how to rate books in this format.
