Remi Carrington is the figment of Pamela Humphrey's imagination. She loves romance & chocolate, enjoys disappearing into a delicious book, and considers people-watching a sport. She was born in the pages of the novel Just You and then grew into an alter ego.
She writes sweet romance set in Texas. Her new series, Bluebonnets & Billionaires, will launch in Jan 2019. Her books are part of the Phrey Press imprint.
Twenty years ago, when they were teens, Goldie and Dag made a deal that they would marry each other if they weren’t married by the time they were thirty-five. So, Dag asks Goldie to marry him on their thirty-fifth birthday. While Goldie’s been in love with Dag for years, she won’t settle for anything but a love match, so she rejects Dag, much to his surprise.
Finally deciding to give up on Dag falling in love with her, Goldie joins some dating apps and goes on a bunch of dates with different men. That’s when Dag realizes his protective and warm feelings toward Goldie might be more than feelings of friendship. I love Dag. He has a big heart, and he loves deeply, but he is so clueless when it comes to love. It literally takes almost losing Goldie, as well as some tough conversations with his friends, for Dag to realize how deeply he cares for her. But once he does, my word, he’s so swoon-worthy.
I love how Dag realizes that his life is better with Goldie in it and how he does everything he can to support her, even if it means they won’t be together. There are so many lovely scenes where Dag is so thoughtful, sweet, and caring (the earring and the nights under the stars especially!), and they made him totally irresistible. I can definitely see why Goldie has loved him for so long – his charm, charisma, thoughtfulness, and protectiveness were so swoon-worthy!
It’s almost as if Dag was living under a fog, dating women and never getting too attached, and not seeing what was right in front of him. It isn’t until Goldie believes she should move on that he starts to see things more clearly and realizes he might lose her. Personally, I think he always had casual relationships because he subconsciously loved Goldie but thought she was off-limits.
Goldie is fantastic, as are the other characters in the book. I love all of the different relationships and friendships and how Goldie, Dag, and the other workers on the ranch have turned into a family, and they always have each other’s backs. When Goldie wants to go on dates without Dag’s interference, for example, the other men and women on the ranch help her. When she wants a new car but can’t drive it, one of the ranchers (and Dag’s friend) goes with her and teaches her how to drive it. The found family aspect of the story continues to strengthen and develop as the series progresses, and I adore it!
And the epilogue is lovely. It offers a glimpse into their lives several years in the future, and it is charming and sweet and wonderfully hopeful. I can’t wait to read more of this series and am excited to learn more about Archer and Lettie in the next book!
Special thanks to the author for providing me with a copy of the book. All thoughts are my own.
Goldie has been hopelessly in love with her best friend for years. Dag has a good heart but he is completely clueless when it comes to Goldie. He wouldn’t hurt her for the world, but that’s exactly what he’s done as he flirts and dates other women, and takes her for granted.
20 years earlier they made a deal that if they were both single when they turned 35 they would get married to each other. He hasn’t forgotten that, so at their 35th birthday party he proposes. Goldie turns him down and is finally ready to move on.
When she starts dating other men, and with help from his ranch friends, Dag finally wakes up and realizes how blind he’s been, and that his feelings for her run much deeper than he realized. Once that happened, he was all in to win her back and I loved his pursuit of her!
In previous books, Dag’s character frustrated me and I wondered how Remi would pull this story off. But she did it beautifully, peeling back the layers of his past and showing his hidden insecurities. I love stories where characters grow and change for the better, and it was so sweet to see Dag become a new man.
What I loved: Piñatas He’s jealous and so protective Goldie’s online dating fails The Stargazer Ladies Swoony cowboys Mason’s romance advice Pedicures The earring Going from the worst proposal to the sweetest HEA and epilogues
I loved this sweet story, and it was so nice to be back in Stargazer Springs Ranch!
I received a copy of the book from the author. All opinions are completely my own.
I am not a fast reader, but I was able to read the book in 1 day. I have read several of the previous books in this series. It isn't necessary to have read them, but I do think it adds to the enjoyment of you know some of the other characters and have seen some of Dag and Goldie's history together.
I loved the premise of this book. The story is so sweet. I love Goldie and sometimes want to hit Dag. He is so clueless. Even after being told something, he's still clueless.
There were so many cute scenes from piñatas to pedicures. I really enjoyed the book.
The one thing that distracts me is that sometimes the dialog seems awkward. I don't know exactly how to describe it. It's like too simply written or something. I don't mean all of it is, but sometimes I felt it was. I still really enjoyed the story and look forward to reading more in the series.
I do wish to thank the author for the advanced complimentary ebook. I'm happy to leave an honest review.
Dag is a big-hearted cowboy who is completely clueless when it comes to his best friend Goldie’s feelings. He’s loyal and would never do anything to hurt Goldie on purpose, but he can be so frustrating. We slowly find out who he is deep inside, and why he fears falling in love. I loved seeing him figure out his feelings. The way he protects and cares for Goldie, can’t be beaten.
Goldie is amazing. I was delighted with the way the story had her taking control of her love life and finding a way to move forward. I love seeing her refuse to settle and agree to Dag’s proposal, despite how deeply in love she was with him.
This super sweet, sometimes silly, friends-to-lovers romance was full of character growth. This is a quick read, but nothing is rushed. It’s a bit of a slow burn as we see the characters grow and change over time and it feels authentic. Dag didn’t automatically begin to see Goldie differently, it took him a bit of time to figure out what he was truly feeling. It was so much fun watching him stumble along the way, while Goldie stuck to his decision.
It's packed full of my favorite characters who love to share their opinions, do a little meddling, and add a dose of manipulation (Tandy).
Another fun and sweet addition to this series. Full of laid-back, easy dialogue, and laugh-out-loud scenes. This is a clean romance, with nothing more than kissing and mild innuendo….Dag is a reformed playboy.
This can be read as a standalone, I do recommend reading the series as the previous books show Dag and Goldie’s friendship and how much Goldie pined for Dag. Goldie and Dag get their HEA, with an ending that sets up the next book.
– this is part of a series and can be read as a stand-alone, however you may want to read the previous book first (More Than A Silly Crush) as it better shows how their general friendship dynamic is before the opening scene
– this is told from Goldie & Dag’s points of view
Review:
I did a little dance when I got this book I was so excited to read after their story’s set up in More Than a Silly Crush! It was so good! I loved Dag’s cluelessness & how he grew to realize his feelings for Goldie. The moments where he tried to process what he was feeling and how to treat Goldie better by asking the other ranch hands/Mason for advice was so good! I also loved that Goldie stood up for herself when Dag proposed, knowing that she wanted someone who loved her. Some of my favorite scenes/moments in this book included: Dag trying to make sense of what was going on, Dag getting advice from Mason, Dallas trying to get through to Dag, Goldie’s odd dates, conversations with Tandy, and fetch.
Summary:
Goldie and Dag have been the best of friends since Dag took Goldie under his wing as kids. Such good friends that when Goldie worried about the future, Dag made a promise that if they were both unmarried at 35 then they would get married to each other.
Dag never forgot and made good on his promise, but is shocked when Goldie doesn’t accept. What seemed like the best birthday no longer holds the same happiness that it should have. Dag is instead confused by Goldie’s reaction to his proposal and her choice to start actively searching for someone that makes her heart thump and who’s heart thumps for her as well. What does she mean by that? Based on Dag’s experience, he can’t understand what Goldie is searching for. All he knows is that he wants Goldie to be happy, even if that means he feels weird about her going on dates with other guys…
Goldie has been in love with Dag for a long time, but when he proposes to her on their birthday it’s the complete opposite of a dream come true. Because Dag is just keeping a promise. He doesn’t have the same feelings for her as she does him. Goldie isn’t willing to settle for less than love, even when it means having to let go of her hope that Dag might feel the same way about her. But as she searches for her person by going on various dates with a whole assortment of types of guys, Goldie finds that Dag is paying more attention to her and wanting to spend more time with her. Could he finally be falling for her? Or is Goldie just holding onto hope in a hopeless situation once again?
I have been wanting to read a book from Remi Carrington for such a long time and it was a treat to finally get a chance to read this one. Though I read it as a standalone it was so good that now I'm definitely going to go back to the beginning of the series to get Dag and Goldie's back stories.
I loved Dag in this book and how he was supportive of Goldie but at the same time totally not when she decided she was going to date again. I love that he was so protective of Goldie even before he realized his feelings and he was the type of guy you would always want to have your back. I also loved that through the book he was on his own journey of self discovery and he was able to grow and change to become an even better man for her.
I loved Goldie in how she was honest with her heart and her little quirks that she had to get Dag's attention. I loved the time they spent together and their journey from Best friends to more.
This was such a cute book with parts that made me laugh and parts that made me just sigh with happiness. I loved the memories that Dag and Goldie make together and that we got to be a part of that story.
If you are looking for a great stand alone book but also one that has an entire series behind it definitely give this one a go! It has the perfect amount of humor, love, swoony kisses, awkward dates, and more!
Physical Intimacy: 1-2 (Kissing, Making out, Minor Innuendo) Zero Swearing Dual POV
“Love has a funny way of surprising us. It’s often unexpected.” Like a kangaroo in the Hill Country.
This is the second book of Remi’s that I’ve read and I am hooked! “More Than a Good Friend” features Dag (Hidalgo) and Goldie (Marigold) – best friends who share a birthday and made a pact as teenagers to get married at 35 if neither was married yet and let’s just say this starts off with the most awkward birthday party ever. Poor Dag is one sweet, clueless, cowboy. I just wanted to reach into the book and knock some sense into him! This story had me laughing (like, legit snort laughing), sighing, and glued to my eReader. I enjoyed watching Dag figure out his feelings for Goldie, and for Goldie to take the reins on her love life. This is the 5th standalone novel in the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs Ranch RomCom Series and can be read out of order. However, if you want to get familiar with other characters you can back up to book 1, but it is not necessary to enjoy the story. So grab your favorite cozy blanket and get ready for one swoony small-town romantic comedy.
I text him at the end of every date to let him know I’m home safe. But only because he made the request in that grumbly protective way and because he’s super hot when he’s like that.
One-sided desire stinks.
I’m looking for a relationship that would be dangerous in dry conditions. I want sparks, sizzles, explosions of romance.
** I received a free advanced reader copy and am voluntarily leaving a review. **
Another fun installment in the Cowboys of Stargazer Spring Series! I absolutely love the friends to lovers trope and this one from Remi Carrington was so adorable!
I enjoyed both Dag and Goldie so much! Dag’s character growth was so great to watch. In past books I did not care for him much. He came off as a jerk and a womanizer and has been completely clueless that his good friend Goldie has been in love with him for years. 20 years ago they made each other a promise that if they were both still single by the time they turned 35 they would marry each other. Dag hasn’t forgotten this and makes good on his promise by proposing to Goldie. He is shocked when she turns him down and decides to join a dating app to finally move on.
It was so good to get into Dag’s head, learn his insecurities and see the examples he had growing up when it came to marriage and relationships. The more we learned the more I started to love him. It was great to see how it clicked for him that things could be different as he watched his friends on the ranch with their wives and he began doing sweet gestures for Goldie. I loved when he cleaned the toilet for her, had her earring replaced, and even joined her in getting pedicures done just so he could spend more time with her. At one point Dag even mentioned he was changing the things he didn’t like about himself. I just loved watching him grow and change for the better.
This was such a sweet, swoony, and fun story with online dating falls, many lost earrings, and fun side characters like the eccentric Tandy who finally tells the clueless Dag to use his words and tell Goldie how he really feels.
Loved this one and can’t wait for the next installment in the series!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Remi brings us another wonderful story from Stargazer Springs Ranch and I was very excited about this particular one. Dag and Goldie have been good friends for a long time and I knew they would end up more than friends one day. But that togetherness doesn't come without heartbreak, hurt and some honest conversations along with some near misses with discovering love too late. I love their journey to love, especially watching both of them learn what true love looks like and to embrace it when it comes. Poor Dag was so clueless about Goldie's dreams, he almost let her get away. And Goldie just couldn't get him off her mind, despite his inability to see all the ways she cared for him. Definitely recommend that this swoony story be added to your summer TBR - it's not to be missed!
I received a complimentary copy of this story from the author. I am not required by anyone to write a positive review and the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.
This is my 3rd book in this series and it was just as phenomenal as the rest! Dag is so clueless to the point where it causes me 'lit'eral pain! And I feel so bad for Goldie!
The fact that Dag was willing to change, really hit me in the feels! He knew he had to change, so he was going to do it! Especially when Luke got involved 🥺💕
I was laughing so hard when Dag decided to tag along with Goldie to get a pedicure 😂 I love the way Dag thinks!
But when he carried Goldie after her fall 🥺😭💕💪
Archer... poor poor Archer.... can't avoid feelings forever..... or your ex 🤭💕
I ABSOLUTELY ADORED the epilogue!!!!
(Life note: take love advice from kids!)

Happy release day to More Than A Good Friend by Remi Carrington!!!!
Dag and Goldie's story was so precious you don't even know! I felt like the timing that everything happened was perfect. There wasn't a time while I was reading it that I ever thought, "This is too slow." or "This is too fast." It was all just perfect!! If you're considering starting this series, I definitely recommend it!! I can't wait for the next book to come out!
Oh my goodness, this book! Dag is simultaneously one of the most lovable and clueless men ever, and I just had to keep reading to see this adorable couple of best friends finally get together.
Things I Loved: -The Stargazer ladies 💙 -Mood ring -Tandy -“‘Will you tell Mom that you invited him so that she’ll stop glaring at me? She very clearly doesn’t want him here.’ ‘It’s my house and my kid. I can invite whoever I want.’ He crosses his arms, acting indignant. ‘Tell her that.’ He pulls a face. ‘I’d rather not.’” -Piñatas -“You need to think up a new cover story.” 😂 -Cleaning the bathroom -The earring 😍 -“Like kangaroos in the Hill Country.” -Mason -“The world is a different place when you unfreeze your heart and give love a chance.” -Grabbing ice -The whole end and bonus epilogues 💙
This story is sweet, swoony, cowboy, friends-to-more goodness. She falls first, he’s clueless, there’s some online dating fails, and sweet character growth. I have loved all of the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs books, but Dag and Goldie are up there as favorites.
More Than a Good Friend, #5 - I enjoy the dry sense of humor, not mean but cute bits here and there, as well as the regular funniness, and fun, for which the Stargrazer books are known. Ole Hidalgo finally grows up and sees Goldie as she actually is, instead of taken for granted. Lovely story. Source: Booksprout. 5*
Cowboys of Stargazer Springs Ranch: More Than a Little Flirting - Another interesting, funny, sweet romance that is so easy to get immersed in the pages. All three series have been so much fun to read.5*
More Than a Pair of Jeans, #1 - Lovely. Funny. Cute. I had so much reading this sweet romance. Wonderful characters and interesting story lines. Written by a lovely Texan and set in Texas, complete with horses, cattle and goats. Cannot forget about the mice and kittens. Plenty of social media, too. Has a preview of the story. 5*
More Than a Pretty Face, #2 - I just love this series. This story has such cute and sweet characters with plenty of humor. No silly mind games, just people trying to make a life with the person that they love while taking care of their friends. Living well, working hard and loving with all their hearts and souls. 5*
More Than Falling in Love, #3 - Plenty of matchmakers in this cute, sweet romance. Mason has a great part and the rest of the Stargazer crew is right in the thick of it all. Well written. Lots of fun. Lots of romance in the works. 5*
More Than A Silly Crush, #4 - The Stargazer series, all three of them, have been nothing but entertaining, filled with love, humor and wonderful characters. Combined with well written and thoughtful story lines that meld all the books together, it is difficult to put any of these books down. This is a fun and loving story about patience and best friends. 5* Cowboys of Stargazer Springs Ranch end.

Alright guys! It’s official!! I have a new favorite cowboy and he goes by the name of Dag! He’s got all the swagger, good looks, and southern charm that will make you go weak in the knees! His only flaw, he’s clueless when it comes to Goldie!!
I don’t think I have ever wanted to smack and hug a character at the same time, that is till Dag! 😂😂Bless him, he had me shaking my head one minute then laughing out loud the next!
And poor Goldie! I felt for her so bad! She yearned for Dag to want to marry her because he loved her, not because he made a silly deal with her when they were 15 to marry each other if they were both single at 35! But Dag hasn’t gotten that memo! All it took was for Goldie to get on a dating site to get Dag’s butt in gear and to get those cogs in his brain a-turning!
I admired Goldie for not settling and wanting true love, even if it wasn’t with Dag. She stood up for herself and her happiness and was a strong character to me because of that!
I loved visiting with all the other cowboys from Stargazer Springs again! I got so tickled at them keeping an eye on Dag and not letting him bother Goldie on her dates! Made for some hilarious moments! And all the Archer/Dag conversations about Goldie were priceless! 😂
Dag and Goldie’s story was everything I hoped it would be and more! It was full of romance, hilarious moments, friendship and all the cowboy goodness you could ask for!!
I had a blast buddy reading this with @a_lady_and_her_literature !! We had so much fun talking and laughing about our fav scenes!
Things I loved: 🤠Friends to Lovers 🤠Dag and piñatas 🤠The Pedicure scene! 😂😂 🤠Goldie leaving her ear rings in Dag’s truck! 🤠Dag and Goldie’s “real” first kiss!! 🔥 🤠The Bonus Epilogue!!! 🥰😂🔥 🤠The dance scene! 🥰 🤠The moment when Dag finally knew he had feelings for Goldie!! (It’s worth the wait and precious!)
Thank you @phreypress for letting me be on your ARC team! I truly loved everything about Dag and Goldie’s story! All thoughts and opinions are my own!
Remi wrote another amazing cowboy story! Dag was wild. This man wanted to live a life with no commitments. He was so oblivious it was almost painful😅.
Goldie was such a sunshine, kind, strong & fun character. I loved that she stood up for herself! She has had enough of one-sided love & goes on some chaotic online dates. Dag was just so oblivious to what was going on, it almost made me scream.
Despite the entire one of the best friend's in love, their communication was so on point. They discussed everything going on in every aspect of their life. Whenever there was a misunderstanding or a bad moment, they decided to confront the situation first hand.
Dag was so awkward😅 He just didn't know how to do a relationship... especially with Goldie. I loved how he started to understand that maybe what he considered was true, it was actually not completely right.
When he put his heart to it, Dag was such a sweetheart. I loved how he examined his lifestyle & decided to change certain aspects he wasn't happy with anymore. He was fully supporting Goldie while he figured out his life. The "She's mine" moment was really precious 🔥.
These two had been friends for so long that their bond was so strong & unique. Their love for each other was beyond imagination. That chemistry🔥Dag was more without his shirt than anyone else😂. Their actual first kiss was so good🔥.
Remi's cowboys are always the best. As always , amazing second characters. I enjoy the brotherhood they have. Always supporting each other. I loved the extra content! Make sure you read it! It's so special😍.
I'm excited for Archer's! He had me intrigued since I saw the sneak peak of his love story.
🐂 * I was kindly gifted an ARC from the author. This doesn't influence in any form my review/opinion of the book*
More Than A Friend is the 5th book in the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs series. This book can definitely be read as a standalone, though you may get some slight spoilers reading them out of order.
After reading the previous book in this series, I was super excited to dive into Dag's story. His character had definitely stuck out to me, and I couldn't wait to see what his and Goldie's story would look like. Let me just say... it absolutely did not disappoint! Dag was such a fun character to read about. To put it simply, he was absolutely, positively clueless about all things love and relationships. He was definitely a ladies' man and dated a lot, but when it came to anything deeper... clueless. And that made him all the more loveable... not to mention led to some great laugh-out-loud moments as well. The chemistry between these two was so sweet and I adored his protectiveness of her. I truly couldn't put it down and didn't want the story to end.
This is a closed-door romance with great chemistry, but nothing beyond kissing and no language.
This is only the second book I have read by Remi Carrington, but I have to say that she is very quickly becoming a favorite for me. I had already purchased the previous books in this series after reading the last one, and now I'm even more excited to read them all... and the books to come! Archer's story is next, and I absolutely cannot wait! If you love a good cowboy RomCom, this book and series is not to be missed!
**I received an ARC for consideration. All opinions are my own.
This book was fun and sweet. I enjoyed it so much! Dag is so clueless, yet so earnest at the same time. It was actually pretty humorous to follow him trying to figure it all out and get a clue. Poor guy, ha ha. And Goldie, just trying to stay strong and move on from unrealistic dreams to find requited love, after so many years of holding on in the face of hopeless love. She was sweet and determined. There are many funny moments and plenty of cute ones. The author has an engaging way of expressing things. There are some witty turns of phrase, which I enjoy. The honesty and communication between the main characters and its the secondary characters felt authentic. I liked how this friends to love story felt like it was forging its own path, instead of adhering completely to the typical well-trodden one, while still heading for the same destination. I mean, it’s a rom-com, we want HEA, right? I also liked that the timeline was given lots of room for change to happen. Sometimes these kind of stories seem like they happen on such a compressed timeline. Some significant character growth needed to happen and it felt more authentic over time. It was a lot of fun watching Dag stumble his way through it all. The bonus epilogue was wonderful. I was so happy to read it. Lots of great supporting characters in the story. This book has plenty of character carryover from the other books in the series…obviously, since it’s happening on the ranch…but it can also be enjoyed as a standalone. This is a closed door story with mild innuendo, and no harsh language.
This was such an adorable book! I have to admit that I was a little worried because I didn’t love Dag from the other books, but he totally redeemed himself in my eyes! First of all, the found family aspect in this book is so cute to me! I love how Dag and Goldie have really found their people among the cowboys. And I love how the cowboys have made Dag a better man even though he is a bit of an idiot sometimes. It took me a little a while to warm up to Dag, but I loved how he had such a big heart. He wasn’t malicious or mean. He was just clueless, so it was really sweet to see how he turned it around for Goldie. He realized that he was taking her for granted. He apologized, and he changed for her. I thought that was really mature and sweet of him. I loved Goldie from the beginning! She was hardworking, kind, a little awkward, and still finding her way. I love how she chose to separate herself from Dag and find romance. She wasn’t going to wait around for him, and I really respected that. The plot progressed really nicely with a lot of character growth for both of them. I love how romances focus on character growth and love, and this one was adorable! It kept me engaged the whole time and laughing especially at Dag’s antics. I would totally recommend this clean romance! I love all the cowboys on this ranch, and while this is part of a series, it can be read standalone.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, a positive review was not required.
If you are a fan of cowboy romance, you will love the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs Series. I love all of the characters and I have enjoyed each addition to this series.
Dag and Goldie have been friends for years. When they were in high school they made a deal that if neither of them were married when they turned 35, they would marry each other. The story starts off at their 35 birthday.
Dag is one of the most frustrating characters of all time (in a good way). There were several times I was hoping one of the ranch hands would give him a good kick in the pants.
He is absolutely clueless that Goldie has been harboring a crush on him for years. I wasn’t sure how the author was going to make his character redeemable and like-able. I knew he would change, but I didn’t expect to love his character as much as I did.
Goldie is sweet and spice and everything nice. She truly put up with so much from Dag and to top it off, she has a heart of gold.
I love the character growth in this story. It was great to see all the ways Dag outdoes himself and surprises her.
Things I loved
Piñatas The earrings Dating fails Dag and his mom The dancing Dag’s sweet gestures The last chapter and epilogues
This was such a sweet story and I love how it all came together. Despite how his character begins, I think Dag and Goldie are one of my favorite couples in this series!
More Than a Good Friend is a friends-to-more, small town, unrequited love, she falls first, absolutely clueless male, clean/closed door, cowboy romance.
It Took Time, But True Love Won - Even though best friends Goldie and Dag made a pact as teenagers, to marry each other if they were still single at age thirty five, neither one of them expected it to come to pass. Whilst Goldie had a crush on Dag as they grew up, Dag never picked up on her feelings or reciprocated. Which caused Goldie to reject his proposal during their thirty fifth birthday celebration.
Goldie decided to put her crush on Dag behind her and find her true love. Unfortunately, her decision created friction between them, as she was going on dates with other men and he was continuously interfering. Dag wasn’t really threatened by Goldie’s one time dates, until she met Luke and went on quite a few dates with him, which made him realise he had feelings for her.
Luckily, Dag got the opportunity to finally declare his feelings to Goldie and she accepted, as her feeling for him never went away. This gave them the chance to embark on a relationship, that mist of their friends had been rooting for and helping them achieve. It wasn’t easy easy to read, as it felt like I had just been through a spin cycle in a washing machine. The story will have take on a one hack of a ride, but it will leave you want more by the time you reach the end. Grab a copy and enjoy yourself.
I received an advanced copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
My 5th book in my exploration of the rom-com genre and I found it totally adorable. I definitely have a "type" when it comes to these books and a slow burn with an overly-confident guy who gets a good slice of humble pie it's definitely my type. I suppose I like bold characters who speak their mind because that's who I am in my relationship. I mean, mis-communication always happens in relationships, and this book has that as well, but it has the right amount of reluctance vs boldness that lends a realistic developing romantic relationship. I loved watching Dag become a better version of himself when he found the right gal - his best friend Goldie who he's known for 20 years. I loved her attempts to find herself before really stepping into a serious relationship with a guy who never took her seriously before. She waited until he behaved how he should with the catch she was. I also liked how their "big moment" at the end was rather intimate compared to other rom-coms that like to involve 100+ people at the end. Easy and quick read - but still a good full picture and depth on the characters which I enjoyed. 4⭐'s is what I give for books that I would totally recommend but probably won't read again. I didn't find this book to just parade in my mind non-stop like other books have so it isn't a 5⭐, but a solid 4⭐ - I would totally recommend it.

Friends to lovers. Forced Proximity. Clueless Cowboy. Super awkward birthday party 😅 A little online dating and terrible dates to follow. Goldie has some PATIENCE with Dag. Wow. She's wonderful. And has been holding out that he'll come around. Once he does catch on he's on point! I love how much Dag cares for Goldie even though he's totally clueless to her feelings. And he's so protective of her 🙌🏻 I love when Dag swoops in *melts* This is one of my top favorite series so don't sleep on it!
💕Romantic Content: 2 brief kissing There is implied intimacy in the epilogue after they're wedding.
🗨Some Quotes: Dag is a sweetheart of a guy wrapped in a multitude of flaws.
After what feels like forever and not long enough, he pulls back. “The guy who ghosted you, what’s his name?” “I don’t need you to chase after guys for me. Or beat them up.” “I wouldn’t hurt him too bad. Just enough to teach him some manners.” He wiggles one eyebrow. “Just a little hurt."
"No. Just ice and water. Plain ice. No weird stuff.” I’ve had enough weird for today. I’ve had a man rub my feet, and then I had the urge to kiss Goldie. Definitely weird. Now I’m eating food without meat. And I’m paying money for it.
"What I want for us is long-lasting, not a hot fiery passion that burns out quickly. I want us to be like when a spark lights a pile of manure. It takes ages to get that fire out. It just burns and burns. I want us to be like that except without the stink."

I love the quote above, not only is it one of the most unique ways I've seen in a book to tell someone how you feel, but it perfectly encapsulates Dag; clueless but sweet. I wasn't sure if I was going to like him at the beginning of the book, but the author gave him so much character growth that I couldn't help but love him by the end. Goldie was a different story. I loved her from the beginning. She personifies her name with her heart of gold but has some strength and sass to back it up.

“If I had any clue how to pull off a heist, I’d have stolen his heart long ago.”
Goldie and Dag have been best friends forever and Goldie’s been inlove with him for so long. And sweet, sweet Dag doesn’t have a clue. Goldie values their friendship so much so she’s always just stayed in the sidelines, watching as he dates just about everyone in town it seems. And finally she’s had enough, it’s time to move on since it seems like he’s never gonna wanna settle down. And especially since Dag’s “not looking for love. Doesn’t have even one romantic bone in his body.”
Ohh Dag, it took him awhile to realize whats in front of him and what it all means. But once he did, he was all in! Best friend player into one hundred percent simp! And I’m so here for it! 🙌🏽❤️
Sometimes the best things in life are worth waiting for. And in Goldie’s case, a lifetime of love and friendship.
So glad to be back in Stargazer Springs Ranch! This found family of cowboys are one of my faves. All swoony with hearts of gold!
I absolutely adore the friends to lovers trope, so I was looking forward to this book. Part of the Cowboys of Stargazer Springs series, this can be read as a standalone.
Goldie and her best friend Dag share a birthday. When they were 15, they agreed to get married if they were both single at 35. Dag hides an engagement ring in the birthday pinata and is surprised when Goldie turns him down and seems upset. He has no idea she has been in love with him for years.
After the pinata incident, Goldie realizes Dag still only thinks of her as a friend. She is done with waiting for him, so she decides to actively look for a boyfriend. She signs up for all the dating apps and starts going out.
Will this be the wake up Dag needs to realize she's the one for him?
I loved this book so much and highly recommend it!.

3.5 stars. This one was cute, but I had a hard time with Dag at first. It's one thing not to realize your friend likes you, it's another to know absolutely nothing about love and relationships, at 35. He didn't get his parents' relationship, but also didn't ask much about it. He was very protective of Goldie, but never noticed those women being mean to her? He didn't understand why Goldie wanted her feelings reciprocated...? Instead of coming off as just naïve, he seemed kind of dumb. But once he made some progress and grew up a bit, I liked him more. And it was sweet how much he changed for Goldie, even being willing to let her go, once he realized he loved her. Goldie was great, and I liked reading about her trying to move on. Her dates (and Dag rescuing her!) were fun and she was written really well.
Content: mild innuendo.
I received this book free from the publisher/author. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
A sweet romcom with funny banter, sweet MFC - Goldie and clueless but passionate MMC - Dag. 🤩
I was waiting for Goldie and Dag’s story with anticipation! I enjoy childhood crush trope a lot! It has exceeded all my expectations 💙
First of all it is impossible not to laugh at Dag - he is such a clueless flirt! He is good looking and attracts a lot of attention that he also uses in his advantage! But it took him 20 years to notice what was under his nose.
Secondly, I adored the Goldie’s character development, her being able to pursue her happiness is priceless! I loved her self worth!
And thirdly, all the attempts of Dag to win Goldie’s heart, to convince her that he has serious intentions were so sweet and in the same time goal oriented! I loved it!
For those who love childhood friends to lovers closes door romance - this book is highly recommended!
More Than Good Friends by Remi Carrington is a friends to lovers romance. Long time friends Goldie and Dag share a birthday. When they were younger they both said if they were 35 and single they'd marry each other. When their birthday comes Dag plans a party with everything including a not so great proposal. Goldie declines the proposal and decides then and there that she was going to find that romance she's been wanting. Goldie goes on all the dating apps and goes on multiple dates, much to Dag's dismay. Will Dag realize he loves Goldie? Will the two get together in the end?
This book was so great! I loved every part of it. The characters were so well written. I loved this book because it was so realistic. It has unrequited love and crazy dating experiences. I highly recommend this book!
Goldie and Dag promised if they hadn’t married by 35 they would marry each other! These two have been best friends since middle school but that’s all it ever been atleast for Dag. Goldie has loved him forever but when he proposes at their 35th birthday party, Goldie decides she not settling for someone who doesn’t love her back. Dag wants to be better for Goldie and it starts to make her attempt at moving on very confusing.
This book was super cute and just gave me all the warm fuzzies. Dag is literally the golden retriever kinda guy who is oblivious to love and it makes you feel bad for him. This poor man taking dating advice from a child is so funny. Goldie is so relatable like who hasn’t went on a few tragic dates they met online. Everything about this book was just feel good for me from the main characters to the low key meddling old lady and I was here for it.
This is a slow-paced best friends-to-lovers story with a marriage pact. Dag and Goldie made a pact at 15 that if neither of them was married by 35 they'd marry each other. They never forgot about it but neither have they talked about it until it's front and center when he proposes on their b-day. He's oblivious whilst she's been in love all this time, but enough is enough and she wants a HEA of her own, and her clueless hunky Playboy of a best friend is not it. This is a sweet and clean romance but maybe I was expecting the same big feelings as Goldie was from Dag, when it was slow and not quite in your face from him.
