Durban City. South Africa’s Playground.

In a world where everyone seems to have a reason Rayne Ensley feels like she is lost until she manages to capture an elusive and ferocious vigilante on camera. Overnight she becomes an internet sensation and her world is irrefutably changed. However, while enjoying superstardom in the adult film industry and being romanced by the wealthiest of men she is also hunted.

Lynel Mason is a man with a plan that involves all of us. From atop his tower he runs a business empire so wide and dense that he has become the single most powerful man in the world. Revered as a business-icon and loved by thousands of staff he appears young, handsome and carefree. But like all men of great influence. He has secrets.

The streets of Durban are a dangerous place and they are prowled by a vigilante known only as The Coat. Appearing and disappearing like smoke he leaves behind a nightly trail of grizzly justice killings. Until recently he has been a ghost story shared in whispers to terrorize the worst class of criminal but thanks to an online-webcam-blogger he is now a worldwide celebrity.

On the other side of the planet, in the British wilderness, technophobe and Freelander Tuck Bradley is relentlessly pursued by groups of assassin intent on stealing a one-of-a-kind weapon from him, the only thing in the world capable of stopping a race of invulnerable goliathians.

The first novel of Donnie Rust, GodHunter is a sexy and fast paced work of brilliance, setting the scene for a climatic showdown in the most visually sublime of backdrops, eThekwini, Durban City.

I’m a huge fan of this author and I truly loved this story, I was intrigued by all the characters and as always it was beautifully descriptive. I can’t wait for the second instalment of this series. Takes you right out of real life for a while just as a good book should. Unfortunately I couldn’t give it 5 stars but this is no fault of the author but he was hugely let down by poor editing, the grammar, especially towards the end was awful. Basic errors with they’re and their etc. Paragraphing towards the end becomes an issue as I found I could be a few sentences in before realising we had moved on to a completely different scene, making the story a little difficult to follow. I would still highly recommend reading as the storyline and characters are fantastic.

Godhunter

Clearly one particular reviewer has a very limited reading list and is unable to fully appreciate how well written this book is! I found myself intrigued by the characters, pleasantly surprised by the plot finding it edgy and refreshingly modern.

I found it difficult to put this book down as I was gripped by the developing story and timely introduction of Tammy. Even the throw away characters held appeal! For me it was the serial killer.

The descriptive skills of the author drew me into each location and found me holding my breath at points as the fast paced action packed and steamy storyline took twists and turns and kept me guessing as to who was the hero and villain ...clever thing is I'm still not sure!!

Loved the simplicity of the end and has definitely left me hanging on, can't wait for the next instalment

Maybe the last reviewer merely skim read the blurb? As said review seems to lack specifics?! Possibly should stick to ladybird books.

Debuts usually should not be assessed as sternly as books from established authors and while I respect the amount of effort that was required to write and publish this book, I can't really say I've enjoyed it.

First of all - the editing was horrible. I didn't realize that it makes such a difference when reading a book, but it does. The paragraphs were all over the page, the punctuation was weird and there were some, not many but still, serious spelling mistakes.

When it comes to the good sides, I really liked the main idea behind the plot and the conflicting interests as well as quickly changing alliances. Also the ideas for characters were quite nice but - and this is my biggest problem with the book - I didn't care about any of the characters and they all seemed a little flat.

The climax was also disappointing, though the revelation on the final page was a nice twist and I'm curious how the second part will turn out.
