About the author

Nato a Valvasone, in Friuli, il 1º giugno 1957. Laureatosi in giurisprudenza, dopo aver fatto diversi mestieri, fra cui il copywriter e il giornalista, lavora presso una banca di Pordenone.

Con il suo romanzo d'esordio, L'elenco telefonico di Atlantide (gennaio 2003) pubblicato da Sironi, ha ottenuto un lusinghiero successo di critica e di pubblico e vinto il premio «Forte Village Montblanc - scrittore emergente dell'anno».

Nel novembre 2003 viene pubblicato il suo secondo titolo, Mare di Bering (Sironi) e nel 2005 i due romanzi Lo stato dell'unione (Sironi) e Tre sono le cose misteriose (Einaudi), Premio Super Grinzane Cavour 2006 e finalista, nello stesso anno, al Premio Stresa. Nel marzo del 2007 è stato pubblicato il suo quinto romanzo: Breve storia di lunghi tradimenti (Einaudi), Premio Letterario Castiglioncello-Costa degli Etruschi[2] e Premio "Latisana per il Nord-Est".[3] Suoi racconti appaiono in antologie pubblicate da Guanda e da Mondadori. Per Guanda, ne I delitti in provincia appare il racconto La traccia del serpente sulla roccia.

Il suo sesto romanzo, La ragazza di Vajont, è uscito per Einaudi nel giugno del 2008. È la storia di un amore impossibile, sullo sfondo apocalittico di un Nord-Est "parallelo" tormentato da una guerra civile e dai fantasmi della pulizia etnica. A settembre 2008 è stato pubblicato nella collana "VerdeNero" delle edizioni Ambiente il romanzo breve L'ultimo giorno felice (Premio "Tracce di Territorio", Pavia), che narra la crisi esistenziale di un architetto cinquantenne coinvolto nella ecomafia delle discariche friulane.

Il 10 novembre 2009 è uscito per Einaudi il romanzo L'anno dei dodici inverni, storia d'amore e di viaggi nel tempo, finalista al Premio Stresa e vincitore del Premio dei Lettori di Lucca 2010.

Il 31 maggio 2011 è uscito per Einaudi Stile Libero il romanzo Un buon posto per morire, un "romanzo storico sulla fine del mondo" scritto a quattro mani con Davide "Boosta" Dileo, tastierista del gruppo Subsonica.

Avoledo ha aderito con entusiasmo al progetto internazionale "Metro 2033 Universe" di Dmitry Glukhovski scrivendo il romanzo Le radici del cielo, in uscita a metà novembre 2011 per l'editore Multiplayer.it, e che a febbraio verrà pubblicato anche in Russia. Le radici del cielo, ambientato nell'universo postatomico descritto da Glukhovski nei due romanzi Metro 2033 e Metro 2034 è un'avventurosa cerca alla Tolkien, ma anche una profonda riflessione su temi come lo scontro tra il Bene e il Male e la possibilità che la fede in Dio possa sopravvivere all'olocausto nucleare.

Ho divorato la trilogia di Metro 2033 e appena ho scoperto che un autore italiano ha scritto una storia nello stesso universo di Metro non potevo fare altro che cercare il libro e leggerlo.

Non ci troviamo più in Russia ma a Roma, sempre nel 2033, anche lei ridotta in rovina. Il protagonista è John Daniels, un gesuita che viene incaricato da un cardinale ancora in vita di spingersi fino a Venezia per trovare il Patriarca per poter far eleggere un nuovo Papa. Il nostro prelato verrà scortato da un gruppo di Guardie Svizzere molto particolari e da qui in poi inizierà un'avventura on the road piena di incontri con gruppi e sopravvissuti diversi.

Devo ammettere che Avoledo scrive bene e riesce a tenerti incollato alle pagine, su questo non ci sono dubbi. Non sono un amante di scene horror o splatter (purtroppo molto presenti in questa storia) ma devo ammettere che molte cose sono state talmente esagerate appositamente che sembra quasi di vederle come un cartone animato.

Sicuramente leggerò il seguito, ma non subito. Lo consiglio a chi ama il genere post-apocalittico e avventuroso, con sprazzi di horror e di azione.

Una colata de metallo. Non riesci a staccarti, vuoi arrivare alla fine, ma ogni tanto ti manca il fiato e devi posarlo, perché è veramente senza pietà. Un'altra faccia di uno scrittore di primo piano, forse la faccia oscura e brutale, ma pur con tutti i condizionamenti derivanti dall'aver scelto un universo condiviso, e dalle convenzioni del fanta-horror, viene fuori con una forza e una visionarietà da lasciare senza fiato. Come mi sento adesso, avendolo appena finito di leggere.

Furcsának találtam az eddigi két Metró könyvben azt, hogy rettenetesen szűkmarkúan voltak bennük adagolva a harci jelenetek. Sokkal több filozofikus gondolat volt bennük, mint vegytiszta akció. Ebben a kötetben már az adrenalin-függők is jobban meg fogják találni a számításukat, igaz a párbeszédekben bővelkedő olvasmányos és izgalmas próza a filozófiai és főleg a vallási elmélkedéseket ezúttal sem nélkülözi. Nem titkolom, nekem ez a könyv jobban tetszett, mint az eredeti duológia. Az inkvizítor és segítő csapata, a Svájci Gárda közt meglévő feszültség – miszerint nem lehet tudni sosem, ki kit szolgál valójában, milyen vallási felekezetbe is tartozik, és hogy egyáltalán ugyanaz-e a küldetésük, mint a papnak – folyamatosan fenn tartja a figyelmét az olvasónak még mutáns szörnyek nélkül is. E mellett még olyan mellékes apróságok teszik élvezetessé a történetet, mint a pápai Halászgyűrű rejtélye vagy az Aurelia Állomás borzalmai. Mindenesetre az nem nagy meglepetés, hogy kiderül, a Föld igazi rákfenéje még mindig az ember, aki a túlélés érdekében egyszerűen mindenre hajlandó, emiatt volt olyan helyzet, ahol azt kívántam, bárcsak végeznének már végre a szörnyek ezekkel az emberi állatokkal. Sosem gondoltam volna, hogy a kannibalizmus után van még tovább a színtiszta szörnyűséghez vezető úton. Nos, ebben a regényben az író kitalálta, hogyan lehet még tovább fokozni. Emiatt csak kemény gyomrúaknak ajánlom a könyvet, néhány jelenet kifejezetten kikészítő hatású. A szerző Gottschalk prédikátor személyében sikeresen bővítette az irodalom emlékezetes pszichopatáinak sorát is.

Całkiem niezła lektura, ale zupełnie inna od trylogii Głuchowskiego. Moim zdaniem ma w sobie za dużo mistycyzmu i nawiązań do chrześcijaństwa, religii ogólnie. Tak, główną postacią jest duchowny, ale i tak tych momentów było za dużo. Daniels mimo wydarzeń i rzeczy jakie go spotkały, nadal miał zamknięty umysł jak praktycznie każdy ksiądz czy osoba wierząca. To doskonale pokazuje, jak religia potrafi zrobić z mózgu sieczkę. Sam Durand, kolejny bohater, także uległ religii, choć akurat on chrześcijaninem nie był. Co mnie zaskoczyło, większość czytelników określa mianem antagonisty Davida Gottschalka, a moim zdaniem prawdziwym złem był Marc Durand. Oczywiście Gottschalk także do dobrych postaci nie należał, robił potworne rzeczy, ale on się z tym nawet nie krył i praktycznie robił to samo co Kościół Katolicki podczas krucjat i innych wypraw. Durand dopiero na końcu pokazał swą potworność, z którą się krył przez całą lekturę. Dlatego w moim odczuciu pod wieloma względami jest postacią gorszą od Davida Gottschalka. Bo to właśnie ci ludzie, którzy ukrywają swoją potworność, są najbardziej niebezpieczni i najbardziej nieprzewidywalni.

"W tych czasach przyjaźni jest mniej niż wody i ciepła"

Uniwersum Metro 2033 po raz pierwszy poza Rosją. I po raz pierwszy poza metrem. Nieliczni ocaleni mieszkańcy Rzymu schronili się w katakumbach świętego Kaliksta - nazwanych Nowym Watykanem. Ostatni żyjący członek Kongregacji Nauki Wiary(czyli Świętej Inkwizycji) wyrusza w podróż do Wenecji w misji mającej wielkie znaczenie dla Kościoła Katolickiego...
Akcja toczy się głównie na powierzchni. Rzymskie metro przedstawione jest jako niedające odpowiedniej ochrony przed promieniowaniem(chociaż w książce jest wzmianka o kilku zamieszkanych stacjach). Powierzchnia, tak jak we wszystkich książkach z serii, kryje wiele niebezpieczeństw...
Autor wprowadza kilka unikalnych stworzeń zamieszkujących ziemię 20 lat po Katastrofie(chociażby Mięśnie). Pokazuje jak groźne jest dla ludzi światło słoneczne i promieniowanie (chociaż we Włoszech nie spadło wiele bomb).
Najmocniejszym punktem książki jest pokazanie człowieka jako najgorszej bestii w post nuklearnym świecie. Niezwykle wstrząsające opisy tego, do czego zdolni są ludzie.
Bardzo dobrze pokazana podróż. Ciekawie przedstawione relacje między bohaterami (ksiądz + siedmiu żołnierzy). No i David Gottschalk - postać, według mnie zasługującą na czołowe miejsce wśród czarnych charakterów.
Generalnie dobra lektura, chociaż... No właśnie... nie przekonuje mnie wizja autora w końcowych rozdziałach książki. Nie podoba mi się, niestety, zakończenie... Ale mimo wszystko - polecam.

Primo volume della serie che Avoledo ha dedicato all’universo di Metro 2033 (e pensare che il terzo è già stato pubblicato in Russia.. ma non trova un editore in Italia?). Come tale ci dà qualche spiegazione in più sul bel personaggio di John Daniels, il gesuita incaricato dall’ultimo Cardinale superstite di raggiungere il Patriarca di Venezia per poter indire un conclave ed eleggere finalmente un Papa.
Scortato da un gruppo di raccogliticce e ambigue Guardie Svizzere del Nuovo Vaticano, il sacerdote attraverserà il centro-nord Italia, visitando una Urbino regredita a città ducale, una Rimini ridotta a un condominio fortificato.. finendo involontariamente sulle tracce della “Più veloce Chiesa di Cristo su ruote” (su ruote la Chiesa, non Cristo), creata da un pazzo assassino, Gottschalk.
Cupo e pieno di atrocità come l’altro volume, che anche in questo caso non disturbano più di tanto da quanto sono volutamente esagerate, si distingue per essere meno realistico e lineare nella trama, quanto piuttosto una fantasmagoria di misteri accennati e mai risolti, di avventure che si susseguono fino all’arrivo in un’affascinante Venezia surreale, molto ben reinterpretata come Città delle Illusioni. Sull’isola-cimitero di San Michele scopriremo l’origine di Alessia, lo spirito guida che ritroveremo nel romanzo successivo; sapremo chi è il Patriarca, anche se alla fine ne capiremo meno di prima..
Il mio giudizio personale è a favore del secondo volume, che si può leggere anche indipendentemente, per coerenza della trama e sviluppo dei personaggi.
Ma cosa dovremo fare per poter leggere il terzo?

L'unico prete che mi è piaciuto.
L’ultimo romanzo di Avoledo scorre in fretta. Questo è almeno quanto è accaduto a chi vi scrive. Nonostante. Nonostante il post-apocalittico non sia il mio genere preferito e nonostante la commistione, che pure non amo, fra fantascienza ed elementi (soft?) horror, con abbondanti manciate di misticismo cristiano e "neopagano". E nonostante passaggi che non esito a definire raccapriccianti. Per farla breve, quattrocentotrenta pagine di una narrativa posizionata decisamente al di fuori dell’ambito di mio gusto sono volate via nel giro di un paio di serate. Non saprei dare una spiegazione alla misteriosa dinamica che mi ha fatto tremare, sussultare e tifare come un forsennato per il destino di un prete nel dopo-bomba (e chi mi conosce sa cosa significa), se non attribuendone l'imperdonabile colpa all’eccellente capacità narrativa. Anche perché, nelle prime pagine, il mio pensiero è andato subito all'esecrabile "Codice Genesi", dimenticabilissima pellicola che vedeva Denzel Washington nei panni di un predicatore in un mondo devastato dalla guerra nucleare. Dieses Buch ist eines der wenigen, oder vielleicht sogar das einzige, der Metro-Reihe, das nicht im russischsprachigen Gebiet spielt. Sondern im Vatikan und in Italien. Klingt exotisch? Ist es auch.

Meiner Meinung nach tut dieses Buch der Reihe aber unheimlich gut. Genau das wollte Glukhovsky doch, als er Autoren aufforderte, ihre eigenen Metro-Bücher zu schreiben. Wie geht es den Menschen andernorts? Wie überleben sie? Was machen sie durch? Welche Ausgeburten der radioaktiven Hölle warten in der Dunkelheit?

Positiv überrascht hat mich Avoledo auch mit seiner Tiefgründigkeit. Das Buch stellt theologische und philosophische Fragen, indem sich John immer wieder über seinen eigenen Glauben klar werden muss. Die Theodizee vor dem ultimativen Test.

"Die Wurzeln des Himmels" ist in meinen Augen eines der besten Metro-Bücher überhaupt. Für mich nach 2033 vielleicht sogar das beste, da es nicht bloss darum geht, Monster abzuschlachten. Es hintersinnt, hinterfragt, man muss sich mit verschiedenen Fragestellungen auseinandersetzen.

Eine grosse Erweiterung des Metroversums und ich hoffe mehr denn je, dass noch mehr Autoren ausserhalb Russlands diese Reihe entdecken und dazu beitragen werden.

Le Radici del Cielo is full of amazing descriptions, but the story is not entertaining.

The story takes place in the universe of the Metro series, but instead of Russia, the events take place in Italy. The last remnants of the Holy See find shelter in catacombs, but for some reason, they set out on a journey and the protagonist ends up in Venice. Throughout the story, they venture through interesting places full of dangers, strange characters, and creatures.

The ideas in the novel are amazing. I personally do not fancy heavy descriptions, but the author did a good job on this one. I read the book in Italian, and even though my proficiency in the language is not the best, I could still perfectly understand what each location had to offer and what kind of atmosphere it created.

The novel really shines when you take it apart into smaller sections, and read each section as basically a different story. How they meet the "muscles", the city that is covered to be protected from the sky, the moving fortress they encounter, or the place where they breed mutant children for consumption. I must add that I do not perfectly remember everything from the story as it has been a while since I read it. However, the images painted were very strong and they do stick in the reader's mind.

But, the story as a coherent whole does not function well. As I already alluded to, I can remember many things from the novel, but not the main reason the story began at all. The main story is more of an alibi to discuss different kinds of interesting ideas. I literally cannot remember what the main point of the book really was. This book could easily receive five stars if it was an anthology, a collection of short novels. However, as a novel, it does not function.

There was a particular moment in the book towards the end where the main character enters a dream or whatever. This change happened so abruptly and unexpectedly that I completely lost track of what was happening in the story. After a dozen pages or so, I had to go back to the end of the previous chapter to see if it was me who missed something or maybe I misunderstood something due to the language, but no. There is just no transition. And then after a few chapters, the story returns from this bypass to the original situation, and everything makes sense once again. And then the story ends with some kind of not-so-important moral message or whatever.

I can recommend this book for the short story-like experiences you can get from it, but not really for the main story. The problem is not that the writing is bad. The flaws mostly lie in the strange structure and incoherent world-building.

Wer Metro 2033 gelesen und geliebt hat, sollte dieses Buch mit anderen Erwartungen angehen. „Die Wurzeln des Himmel“ spielen in postnuklearen Italien, was weniger hart von der Apokalypse betroffen zu scheint als Moskau, aber trotzdem auf der Oberfläche unbewohnbar ist.

Wir begleiten Pater Daniels auf eine Reise durch das Ödland auf den Weg, die heiligen Schätze des Markus-Doms für eine Gemeinschaft zu bergen, die sich „Der Neue Vatikan“ nennt. Begleitet wird er von einem Dutzend hartgesonnener Scouts. Zusammen schlagen sie sich eine Schneise durch den eisigen Winter, erleben Grausamkeiten und müssen sich wieder und wieder die Frage stellen, ob sie von Mutanten oder Menschen begangen wurden.

Die Themen dieses Buches ähneln denen des Originals, der Ton unterscheidet sich aber stark. Hoffnung, Kinder, Moral, tote Städte, vereinzelte Überlebende Siedlungen... und Religion. Religion steht im Mittelpunkt des Buches. Kein Stein wird auf den anderen gelassen. Es ist eine deutlich philosophischere Ansicht als die dunkle Trostlosigkeit der Metro.

Auch die Schwarzen aus Moskau haben ihren Auftritt!

Mir hat das Buch gefallen. Leider ist das Ende etwas flach gefallen, weswegen es nur auf drei Sterne kommt. Eines der wenigen Bücher, wo ich gerne ein bis zwei Kapitel mehr gesehen hätte.

Italia post-apocalittica di un mondo quello di Metro 2030 al centro di un interessante esperimento editoriale in più lingue e a tante mani. Quello di Avoledo ha come ambientazione l’Italia in parte attraversata da picaresca vicenda di una compagnia in cui c’è anche l’anello, ma ben poca virtù. Viaggio da Roma a Venezia con tappe intermedie del prete protagonista e un manipolo di ferocissime Guardie Svizzere. Un romanzo, forse troppo lungo con alcuni “detour” davvero non necessari e numerose descrizioni macabre che ci si poteva anche risparmiare. Almeno tre scricchiolate importanti affliggono la verosimilianza interna, così come una conclusione – anch’essa di molto tagliabile – che a me ha confuso a più mandate necessariamente a discapito della resa finale. La galleria dei comprimari è ricca e funzionale – a parte alcuni eccessi di alcuni e – di altri - alcune altelenanze di intenti,, un po' troppe le bestie di cui non si capisce bene natura e scopi , ma tutto sommato la resa di un mondo “dopo” (compito mai facile) riesce. Se il genere piace e le efferatezze non danno fastidio, lo consiglio chè per me passa decisamente la sufficienza, mi ritrovo molto nelle tre stelle e mezzo finora di media.

Un libro con cui non è mai nato feeling, forse anche perché mi sono affezionato al realismo dei capitoli russi della saga. Non sono riuscito a cogliere il significato (se ce n'è uno) dei passaggi più surreali, i personaggi mi sono sembrati generalmente esagerati nelle loro caratteristiche. L'aspetto mistico è risultato a tratti eccessivo, mentre i passi raccapriccianti sono stati un esperimento abbastanza riuscito.

Das Buch war an und für sich toll. Es spielt, anders als die anderen Metro-Bücher, hauptsächlich an der Oberfläche in Italien, wo diese nicht ganz so gefährlich ist wie die in Moskau. Es hat interessante Charaktere und auch ein paar nette Twists.
Einzig das Ende hat mir nicht ganz so gefallen, es ist ein wenig zu theologisch, zu realitätsfern. Ich persönlich bevorzuge harte Science Fiction und während das die Buchreihe zwar nie war, haben sie sich dennoch bemüht, nicht ganz zu übertreiben, bei "Mutierte Monster können dir Illusionen zeigen oder Kopfschmerzen verursachen" blieb es eigentlich immer (bis auf "Das marmorne Paradies", aber das ist eh nicht erwähnenswert). In dem Buch ist der Autor aber gegen Ende etwas über die Stränge geschlagen. Sicher, man könnte es als Wahnvorstellung oder so des Hauptcharakters erklären, aber das Buch scheint einem klar machen zu wollen, dass dem eben nicht so ist. Entsprechend war das Ende nicht so ganz nach meinem Geschmack und driftete etwas zu sehr richtung Fantasy (A Wizard did it!) ab.
Auch scheint es ein paar Logiklücken zu haben. Wie z.B. hat das Kirchenoberhaupt überhaupt vom Patriarch erfahren? Das wird recht beiseitegewischt am Anfang des Buches, aber als John dann in Venedig ist, wird es klar, dass sich seine Bewohner vor allen "Ungläubigen" verstecken und hätte besagter Patriarch nicht besonderes interesse an ihm, hätte er nie jemanden angetroffen, so wie es Durand und Gottschall nicht taten. Der Patriarch hat kein interesse an der Kirche, warum also hätte er sich ihnen offenbaren sollen?
Alles in allem war es aber lesenswert und ich bereue den Kauf auch nicht. Wer Metro 2033 mag, soll es doch lesen.

It's very different from other books from the universe of Metro 2033, but at the same time it seems the most similar to the original Metro 2033 and even more to The Gospel according to Artyom.

The differences are obvious: the story takes places in Rome and, more generally, Italy. The main hero isn't a stalker, but a priest, the last member of The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (formerly known as the Holy Inquisition) who sets off to Venice, where he's supposed to find a cardinal, and bring him back to Rome for a papal conclave. Or so he's been told.
Italy has been relatively spared by nuclear bombings, but seems to have suffered a particularly malicious series of biological attacks, because the monsters encountered on the way are terrifying even by Metro 2033 standards.

Then, there are the similarities: the book explores the topic of tolerance, war, faith, acceptance, mission, God, purpose in life, etc. Thankfully, it avoids being banal or overly concentrated on those musings. The action parts are gripping, and the plot twists are truly surprising.

My only complaint is the ending, which left me feeling like so many things were left unsolved and unsaid, but I guess it had to be this way, to leave some space for interpretations.

Possibly my favourite book in the series so far!

La catastrofe nucleare che ha colpito Mosca in Metro 2033 ha provocato danni su tutto il pianeta, Italia compresa.
Il romanzo di Avoledo affianca quelli già usciti che narrano della sopravvivenza in terra sovietica e trasporta la scena nella Città Eterna.
Le cose sono andate un po' meglio da noi... ma l'inverno nucleare e la nascità di nuove razze, estremamente letali per i pochi umani rimasti, creano gli stessi problemi che colpiscono la comunità della metro moscovita.
La differeza risiede nei modi che le diverse comunità utilizzano per tirare avanti e Avoledo descrive le debolezze e i pregi dei 'survivor' nostrani in maniera realistica e, ai nostri occhi, poco esotica.
Le vicende del protagonista non sono limitate al sottosuolo, come nei due Metro (2033 e 2034), ma assistiamo a un viaggio (di ricerca e di crescita del protagonista... come tradizione) che lo porterà fino alla laguna veneziana.

Restano i soliti dubbi tecnici, come in soli 20 anni siano riuscite a svilupparsi così tante nuove razze e nuovi poteri telepatici, e l'incontro con il portavoce della nuova civiltà mi è suonato più inverosimile che il corrispettivo moscovita.

Avventura e momenti horror e splatter non mancano. Lettura veloce e, in fin dei conti, interessante.

Tak jak czytając "Metro 2033" nie mogłem odpędzić się od porównań ze światem S.T.A.L.K.E.R-a, tak i czytając "Korzenie Niebios" częstokroć porównywałem go do pierwotnej książki Dmitriego Glukhovskyiego. Bądź co bądź to ten sam postapokaliptyczny świat, to samo uniwersum a jednak...
Tullio Avoledo udało się przemycić włoską kulturę, włoską architekturę i włoskie miejskie legendy w swojej książce, bardzo zgrabnie wpasowując je w świat po Wielkiej Zagłądzie.
Co ciekawe owe malutkie anegdotki miejscami potrafią zainteresować czytelnika o wiele bardziej od samego głównego wątku... Razi nieco płytkość i przewidywalność niektórych postaci i irracjonalne niekiedy dialogi, lecz to nadal dobra książka, którą spokojnie mogę polecić nie tylko fanom Uniwersum Metra 2033, ale także pasjonatom postapokaliptycznych klimatów.
Ogólem malowany tutaj obraz może też służtć za doskonałą przestrogę dla naszej obecnej cywilizacji...

The book has great concept, world building, and good ideas for settings and characters. Sadly, the story itself doesn't quite measure up. It was enjoyable, exciting, and shocking, but could have been a lot better.

My favorite parts were the flashbacks, because they showed the most of Rome (confession: as an archaeologist, I was reading the book mostly for the setting). Sadly the story itself moved out of Rome fairly soon.
The book reads like a Hollywood action movie. I have nothing against Hollywood action movies, but I didn't necessarily want to read the same characters, plot twists and pop culture references in an Italian (+Russian) sci-fi setting. Even the main character is American, that threw me for a while.

The ending was confusing, and it let quite a few things open. I did like the whole religious aspect of the book; bringing religion into the Apocalypse was a neat idea, and resulted in some interesting questions.

Интересно и поучительно. Заставляет задуматься над смыслом и значением религии в нашей жизни. Стиль повествования временами становится достаточно занудным. Но в целом, весьма добротная книга для любителей жанра постапокалипсиса.

Nie zgodzę się z opiniami, że jest to najlepsza powieść w ramach uniwersum. W ogóle jest inna i być może przez to ciężko ją oceniać tymi samymi kategoriami co pozostałe części Metra. Subiektywnie, jako odrębną powieść oceniam na 3.

Troppi ingredienti buttati a casaccio in questo polpettone inconcludente e sopra le righe. Durante la lettura alcune parti lasciano ben sperare, peccato che alla fine tutte le speranze restino tali.
