Seven Day Fiancé

Rate this book
Angelle Prejean is in a pickle. Her family is expecting her to come home with a fiancé—a fiancé who doesn’t exist. Well, he exists, but he definitely has no idea Angelle told her mama they were engaged. Tattooed, muscled, and hotter than sin, Cane can reduce Angelle to a hot mess with one look—and leave her heart a mess if she falls for him. But when she ends up winning Cane at a charity bachelor auction, she knows just how to solve her fiancé problem.

Cane Robicheaux is no one’s prince. He doesn’t do relationships and he doesn’t fall in love. When sweet, sultry-voiced Angelle propositions him, he hopes their little game can finally get her out of his head. He doesn’t expect her to break through all his barriers. But even as Angelle burrows deeper into his heart, he knows once their seven days are up, so is their ruse.

Review from Way Too Hot Books

Easiest way to describe Seven Day Fiance? Your best friend's hot brother fantasy. Was it good? So, so good!!!

Cowboys and Kisses. Okay, this is not a cowboy swept me off my feet love story, but there are all of the recognizable elements of good and sweet Southern romance setting. I have a weak spot for American South, if you didn't notice. First, you can read this book like standalone, I did - you won't miss anything because Seven Day Fiance talks about other characters, it's not standard sequel. This would be a perfect movie - I could see it in my head while I was reading.
One of my friends accused me of being kinky, but actually romantic - well, I am. I love good romance no matter how sappy or cliche it sounds to other people. There is just something satisfying in reading about love and pink colored world. I like that fluffy feeling and silly smile they put on my face. Angelle and Cane made me smile like Cheshire cat.

Why I loved characters? Cane is hot, tattooed player who falls for that clumsy girl that won't spare him a time of the day. Angelle is loyal and doesn't want to be just another scratch on bad boy's bedpost. But somehow they figure out that there is so much more about that other person and suddenly their little charade isn't game anymore. I loved their appreciation of family values - I'm sick of novels talking about that whole "my friends are my family, because my real family sucks" rant. It was nice to read different angle for a change. Don't let me even start about chemistry these two have. I thought that my Kindle would be set on fire few times. And that scene in the barn... Swoon to the moon and back.

Who should read this book? Everyone who wants something that will bring a little bit of sunshine in their life. All of you who are secretly romantic but just don't want to admit that to anyone. Still not convinced? How about little teaser then?

"Cane tore himself away from her sweet lips to slide his tongue along the column of her neck. A gasp escaped Angelle’s mouth. She was so responsive. She made him feel like everything was new for her, like he was the first man to make her feel like this. Pride and satisfaction coursed through his veins. He bit and then licked the underside of her jaw, and a deep moan broke free from her throat. And that released the hellcat.
Suddenly slapping his hands out of the way, Angelle knotted her fingers in his hair. Cane chuckled as she tugged roughly on the ends, impatiently yanking him closer and herself higher. Placing his hands around her slim waist, he slid across the seat and tugged her onto his lap. She settled a leg on either side of his hips and they shared a hiss."

You like it? Then go, find the book and read. We will love to hear if you enjoyed it and why.

Seven Day Fiance is enjoyable read. It’s warm, sweet and cute romance story. From time to time, I adore reading heart melting novels, that make me swoon and grin all the time. Rachel Harris acomplished this, despite few minor issues I had with her novel.

image

This story is about Angelle a young woman that is supposed to have Fiance. Every family member thinks she’s already planning her wedding, while the truth is, she doesn’t even have a boyfriend. Her lies are slowly changing into catastrophe that is only waiting to happen.

Angelle’s problem is accidentally fixed, when she ends up winning, sexy, musculed bad boy on bachelor’s auction. Now, she only has to coax him into pretending to be her future husband for seven days.

Cane Robicheaux isn’t a good relationship material. He’s the love’em and leave’em kind of guy, but something in innocent Angelle, makes him agree into this little charade.
Poor Cane, didn’t realize that playing a fiance is like playing with fire, and seven days with a beautiful woman, can break his rules.

This story is really simple, nothing out of this world or explosive, yet I enjoyed it. Rachel Harris showed me well written story, that could easily be changed into Hollywood movie, that couples would watch on Valentine’s Day.

Well, the sweetest of it, somewhere along started to irritate me. I started to feel intoxicated by it, and quickly had enough of swooning. I was like five year old on Halloween, eating to much chocolate, having sugar high and then… everything went downhill. Low, low, low… because sometimes enough is enough.

image

Overall, Seven Day Fiance is lovely, sexy and charming read. I recommend it for fans of swooning romance stories, that can be read in one sitting. I missed angst and drama too much to fully enjoy it.

I was recently introduced to Rachel Harris by chance. I completely fell in love with her writing while reading Book 1 in the Love and Games series. I only recently found out that Book 2, Seven Day Fiance was available for advance reading and I jumped at the chance.

Keep in mind that this is from the Entangled Bliss imprint. You know that means only hints of the yummy smut, but with the way Harris writes you won’t even miss it. Well… except for that one scene!

Cane Robichaux isn’t the settling down kind of guy. If you read book 1 you know he’s Colby’s brother and he runs the family restaurant… yes, he’s a closet nerd, but a damn sexy one with his tattoos and a motocycle.

Angelle is the new girl. Working for the fire department, she moved to town to escape the expectations of her hometown and a fiance that just wasn’t right for her.

Cane and Angelle have only had brief interactions, but they always seem to leave her a hot mess. When she makes the mistake of telling her mom that she’s engaged to someone new, she needs Cane to help her out and spend Thanksgiving with her overwhelming family and the ex that still wants her.

I absolutely loved this book – the chemistry between Angelle and Cane was so well done, and omg that man.

”Just so we’re clear” – placed his hand on hers – “you can proposition me any time, angel.”

I mean…

 photo tumblr_m7i9mfW4E21rzgc8xo1_500_zps0aba00bb.gif

So I’m going to say up front, I hate reading from PDF because I can’t highlight the quotes that I love and want to share, and this book had plenty of them. Watching both Angelle and Cane slowly get to know each other and ultimately have everyone believing that their relationship was … except for them, was perfect. I absolutely loved the two of them together and getting to see glimpses of Colby and Jason was just a bonus.

If you’re looking for a book filled with Cajun food and family plus a sweet romance, you’re definitely going to want to check out the Love and Games series. Rachel Harris certainly knows what she’s doing in this series and I can’t wait for the next one! (Crosses fingers for Sherry’s story!)

Also… Rachel, if you want my email so you can send me the rest of that one scene… just say the word!

Thank you to Entangled for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 Living Up To Your Own Expectations * * * 1/2

It seems one of the biggest challenges in our lives is to just be who we are... not who people want us to be... or what we think we should be... It is to have the strength to realize what makes us tick and be strong enough in our convictions to follow that path... no matter how hard it may be.

This tale touches on those thoughts. We have two characters who have presented themselves to the outside world how they think is best... but have hidden from what is their core... Both experienced a Family Trauma, a sign post...pushing both to take that fork in the road shaping them.

This was an easy read... a need to pretend she is engaged, our gal ropes her secret crush into going back home to show her family she is fine and able to live her life in another town. She has used this ruse to keep her family at bay ... allowing her to settle in and thrive in her new home. Now unfortunately, Thanksgiving is here and she must somehow bring this pretend fiancee home to meet everyone.

The subject of her crush has been interested in her since she came to town but hasn't been able to connect with her. He is a love and finish guy... he has seen what heart hurt looks like from the example his Father did to his Mom... and he is determined not to inflict pain like he saw.

When asked to be the Pretend Fiancee, he finds himself saying yes... thinking he will have a friendly tap that and then get her out of his system. Little does he and she know what is in store... can they pretend when feelings start to get involved....

The read was pleasant... it is part of a series with secondary characters either having their book done or will be done. The reader would feel comfortable reading whether they had read the other or not. There is a sweetness, charm and a chemistry between them. They mesh well and have heat... their time together is not really discussed in detail but you do sense they want each other.

I enjoyed this enough to see what is next for the series...

Seven Day Fiance was a lot more than I had been expecting. Not that I was expecting it to be bad, I figured it was just going to be similar to other stories I've read of its kind. However, much to my delight, it was much better than I had been hoping for. The story had me captivated from the first chapter and smiling and laughing out loud all the way to the end. This was easily my favorite contemporary romance book of the year.

Angelle Prejean is a fun, quirky, but shy woman who is determined to break out of her shell. After spending her whole life trying to please others, she is ready to focus on herself for a change. The trouble is, in order to do that she must show her overbearing, overprotective, but incredibly loving family that she can be okay out in the big bad world, and in order to do that she needs for them to meet…you guessed it, her incredibly wonderful, ruggedly handsome fiance…who doesn't exist. No problem, right? Enter Cane Robicheaux. Seemingly your typical bad boy, he has a soft side for his wonderfully fabulous sisters and, it seems, Angelle. Shh…don't tell.

What made this story so fabulous was the characters. From Angelle's lively antics to Cane's incredible sexiness to the Robicheaux girls' shameless matchmaking, each one brought a unique personality to the story. The banter was sweet, sexy, and fun, and the chemistry between Angele and Cane was…intense. There is no other word for it.

I fell in love with the author's easy writing style and loved how she was able to throw in so much of the southern culture and charisma into the story. While I had not read book one in this series before I read this one, I had absolutely no trouble following along without feeling like I was missing part of the story. However, after looking it up and realizing book one was the story of Colby and Jason, I had to purchase it and am planning on reading it next. I am very much hoping book three will be Sherry's book.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Cane isn't a relationship guy but he agrees to be Angelle's fake fiancé during the thanksgiving holidays to bring home to her parents.

She had really worked hard to become strong on her own, and I loved that Cane saw that strength--even more than she did herself. And bonus-- it had an epilogue. :)

"Cane tore himself away from her sweet lips to slide his tongue along the column of her neck. A gasp escaped Angelle’s mouth. She was so responsive. 2.5 - "You can proposition me anytime, angel." Stars!

The synopsis for Seven Day Fiancé ticks all of my ‘Wanna-Read’ boxes; unfortunately the reading didn’t quite match my expectations. I am kind of surprised actually as I really enjoyed book one in the Love & Games Series – Taste the Heat. Rachel Harris has really got skill in providing an enjoyable love story, without the steam and sex that you get in some of the other Entangled Categories.

Lack of sexytimes aside (as I know to expect this with a Bliss title), I really struggled to find any connection between Angie and Cane. I don't know maybe it’s just me, but when you are told that a guy ’ doesn’t do relationships and he doesn’t fall in love you expect a little more resistance to some of the things Cane ended up doing without a whimper of complaint.

Cane was a duality of light and dark, tough and sweet, bad boy and protector.

The massive amount of aunts, uncles, parents, grandparents, siblings and other people in the story got a little confusing at times too and everything just seemed to be sugar-coated and overdosed in sweetness, at points I had concerns I would go into a diabetic coma from it.

The storyline and the characters are sound, but I personally just found it all a little too busy, and over-the-top nice, even for a Bliss title.

This review also appears on Steamy Guys After Dark.

Ya'll know that I love Jason Landry with the fire of a thousand suns, but I might love his best friend more than that. Cane Robicheaux is all that. But don't let me get too ahead of myself.

Shy Magnolia Springs transplant Angelle Prejean volunteers at the fire department and gives riding lessons part-time. So it's a total shock when she outbids everyone for a night with local bad-boy restauranteur Cane Robicheaux in the annual bachelor auction. They've been flirting with each other for months, and relationship-phobe Cane is more than happy to get the chance to spend an evening with the girl he can't get out of his mind.
"You bid an obscene amount of money just to go out with me," Cane interrupted, his deep voice laced with humor. Her eyes shot to his and he winked. "You know, darlin', all you had to do was say the word. You could've had me for free anytime."

Turns out, Angelle needs more than just one night. She needs a week, complete with a fake fiancé. After turning down her boyfriend's proposal, Angelle ran from her small Cajun hometown where her father is the mayor and everyone is all up in everyone else's business. To keep her parents off her back about coming home (and back to the ex, Brady), she invented a relationship that led to an engagement. Now it's time for her to return with her fiancé for the holidays. It only takes a little convincing for Cane to agree to help her.

Along the way, the lines get blurry and both of them wonder what will happen when they realize their fake feelings aren't so fake after all.
His goal had shifted. No longer was this only about getting her out of his system, though that did have to happen, the sooner the better. But now, he didn't just want her comfortable enough to explore their explosive attraction. Cane realized he wanted to let Angelle in.

One of the things that I loved the most about Taste the Heat was the Louisiana setting. I felt that it captured the magic and romance of New Orleans to a tee. This was even better. Perfect descriptions, amazing food, local games and customs--Harris totally captured the ambiance and unique culture of Cajun country. I wonder how people who don't live here pronounce some of these words though. :)

I love this storyline--"fake" relationships that turn real, and this is one of my favorite stories ever. I loved the characters. Cane was just awesome. A restaurant owner, number-crunching nerd-at-heart, bartender, and amazing brother, he's very protective of all of the women in his life. He plays the guitar and rides a motorcycle and has tattoos and is just totally swoonworthy.

Cane was so authentic. One of my favorite moments was when his godchild, Emma, was talking about his upcoming "wedding" with Angelle.
"Tell Angelle my signature colors are green and blue," Emma declared, snapping Cane's attention back to the present. He lifted his head to see her listing the rainbow on her fingers. "But I guess I can work with yellow or purple, too. Oh, it could be like an LSU wedding!" She jusped up and clapped her hands happily, then grew serious just as quickly. "But no taffeta bows on the butt, please. That mess doesn't work on anyone."

She rolled her eyes and then with a mischievous giggle, spun on her heel and skipped away.

Cane blinked. "Taffeta?" What in the hell was that, some kind of snack?

Angelle is one of my favorite female characters ever, and it's so rare for me to like someone so much--she totally knocked me off my feet. She loves her family, but refuses to live her life on anyone's terms but her own. She doesn't want to live under the microscopic scrutiny of her town, but she loves her culture and loves to be home. She waited for the right guy to give her heart to and wouldn't settle for anything less. She's strong, even in the face of weakness.

The chemistry between these characters was off-the-charts.
"Just so we're clear"--he placed his hands on hers--"you can proposition me any time, angel."

Did I mention that I love when he calls her "angel"? ::le sigh::

I love pretty much everything about this book. The only thing I wanted more of (besides once again wishing this was a Brazen title instead of the Fade-to-Black Bliss Brand) was Colby and Jason. We saw them and know they're totally in love and happy, but I wanted more. I loved that the relationships were all still there though--Sherry is still the over-zealous little sister we all love and Jason and Cane are still BFFs (or whatever guys call it).
"You know I was just busting your chops. But damn, this girl's done a number on you, hasn't she?"

Cane huffed a breath. "Yeah, I guess she has."

"Do you have any idea how long I've waited for a woman to knock you on your ass?" When Cane didn't answer, Jason did it for him. "Years. More than a decade. But the day Angelle walked into that diner, I knew it was just a matter of time."

They hold each other up and encourage each other, even when it's not what the other one wants to hear, and that's true friendship.

If you're looking for a story with an amazing plot, a perfect setting, and characters that will have you swooning, Seven Day Fiancé is the book for you.

As you can probably guess, it was predictable. Being the first book I read from this author, I really liked her writing style.

There was a few parts of the story I wasn't so sure with. For example, I got mad with Cane one at point 'what was he thinking?' Another thing was Angelle's previous physical relationship with her ex was possible, but still a little unbelievable.

Overall: light, enjoyable YA romance x

I have so many feels atm, loved Seven Day Fiance.

If you're like me and love a good romance this book will not disappoint. This series keeps getting better and better.

Angelle and Cane both owned me, loved them both and watching them together had me smiling and swooning through most of the book.

sigh... seeing Cane and Angelle falling in love was just gahhh

Poor guy didn't know what hit him, one minute he was all "I'm not a relationship kind of guy and I will never fall in love as it's not for me" but when the thought of Angelle being with another man starts to make him feel sick, he's like "what was that???" ahhh yes jealousy isn't a feeling our Cane has had the pleasure of experiencing before :P

I'm going to stop talking now as I can go on forever and ruin the story for you :)

I truly love Rachel Harris's work, her writing draws you in and makes you feel like you're part of the story.
Her description of the Cajun food and life had me wanting to book my next holiday to experience that lifestyle :P

The Love and Games series is one of my favs and I highly recommend it.

BTW did I mention I have a major crush on Cane? umm yeah that man is HOT!

REVIEW:
The story:
After leaving her small hometown and her not-quite-right fiancé behind, Angelle is looking to find herself. However when Angelle finds herself in a bit of a sticky situation when trying to convince her parents that she's happy, by telling them she's engaged to a new man. Uh-oh, Angelle needs to find a fake fiancé and fast! And it just so happens that she's won a date with sexy as sin Cane Robichaux at a charity auction.

After convincing him to play the role of fake fiancé they travel to her hometown in the heart of Cajun country to meet the family. It was really fun watching them try to convince the town they are are indeed a happy couple. There are some particularly funny scenes as Cane struggles with some of the local customs!

For Angelle & Cane the lines between lies and reality soon become very blurred indeed. Angelle and Cane have such strong chemistry and the sexual tension sizzles away as they try to ignore their true feelings.

The characters:
Cane Robichaux is not the settling down type of guy. He's smouldering looks and cocky attitude make him very popular with the ladies. But his father's past indiscretions has made him very cynical when it comes to love and he doesn't believe he's capable of making that sort of commitment, convinced that he'll make the same mistakes. But it's clear to almost everyone else (except Angelle of course) that he's already falling for Angelle. Yes he does make mistakes, but he always makes up for them - some of the things he does for her melted my damn heart!

Angelle is such an awesome character and I absolutely adored her. She shy, awkward, and around Cane she basically becomes a hot mess - which created some hilarious scenes! Now I know a lot of people have issues with virgin characters, especially when they're older like Angelle is at 26. However I felt Rachel handled the storyline really well and that Angelle's reasoning was really well written & very believable. It's not about marriage or religion, for Angelle it was about finding the right man and feeling the moment was right.

“Look, at first I waited because I wanted to be in love. Then, even when I believed I was, it still never felt right."

"This isn’t a religious thing or some random pledge I took. It just never felt right.”

There is also an amazing array of quirky supporting characters that make this story complete. They may have a few strange customs in her hometown of Bon Terre, but it's clear that they love Angelle and just want whats best for her. I also have to make mention of Brady, Angelle ex fiancé. I thought that I would naturally hate him, but I actually really liked him, and felt a little sorry for him. He's sweet and kind and I would really love to see a story for him to have his own HEA.

The romance:
Angelle and Cane are so damn hot together it hurts! Cane is the complete opposite of her old fiancé and her family and friends think he's all wrong for her - with his tattooed muscly arms and biker boots! But there is another slightly nerdy side to Cane, that was so adorable! Their personalities complement each other perfectly. I love how Cane brings out the 'hellcat' in Angelle, and she brings out the softer romantic side to Cane. Together they are the perfect couple!

The Writing:
I think one of my favourite things about Rachel's writing is her sense of humour. Every time I read one of her books I end up just sitting there grinning at my iPad, with sudden bursts of laughter - you know the loud embarrassing kind that make people turn and look at you like your crazy. But I don't care because her books are are so worth the strange looks I get! :)

FINAL WORD:
This is such a sweet and romantic story that sparkles with Rachel's signature humour. With a colourful cast of characters and a unique setting this book was fabulous and I can't wait to read more from this series!

CONTENT:
Sexuality: mild-medium / fade to black sex scene
Violence: mild
Language: mild
Drugs & alcohol: mild

When I read Taste the Heat (Love and Games #1) by Rachel Harris, I knew right away I was hooked – by her writing, her characters and her sexy, swoon-worthy men. Jason was an incredible character and I fell in love with him so hard and so fast, my head spun. Cane was just a secondary character in that book, as Colby’s older brother. We saw some of his personality and swoon-worthyness (yes, that is a word.. I just made it a word!), but we didn’t see a whole lot of him. In Seven Day Fiance, that all changes.

Angelle was a great character to read. She really grows and evolves as a person throughout the book and that growth is very obvious. She starts out timid and humble and, by the end, becomes a woman who can say no and ask for space. She stops trying to please everyone else in her life – her family, her friends, her ex and even Cane – and she starts focusing on herself, who she is and who she wants to be. She’s a strong character from the beginning, but she becomes even stronger by the end and she doesn’t realize how strong she is until the end.

Cane is just… I can’t.. *Fans self.* Cane is yummy! Cane is hot. Cane is MINE! But besides that, he’s an incredible, incredible person. No offense to Jason, but I’m totally Team Cane now! There is so much depth to him, and we don’t realize that in Taste the Heat because we only see so much of him. But in Seven Day Fiance, his personality and fears are front and center for us to see. It’s difficult to watch Cane go through everything he does in this book, because you can tell how painful it is for him and how conflicted he is. He’s the resident playboy, the tattoo-covered, leather-wearing bad boy who doesn’t believe in relationships – until Angelle comes into his life. And even then, he’s conflicted, confused and unsure. He’s haunted by his past – a past we learned about in Taste the Heat, but that we truly begin to understand in Seven Day Fiance.

This book made me laugh, cry and swoon. There were a few moments where I was ready to sob, where my heart broke and where I begged Cane and/or Angelle to NOT do what they were doing. But the end was INCREDIBLY sweet and amazing and wonderful and the epilogue made me giddy and excited!

There’s going to be a third book in this series, and I’m DYING to know which hunky guy and girl-next-door are going to be front and center in that one! (Fingers crossed for Sherry!)

All in all, I absolutely loved this book. I love everything Rachel Harris does and I highly recommend everything she does. So get reading!

4.5 "King of Abs" stars!!!

I totally fell in love with Colby and Jason’s story in Taste the Heat, but who knew that Seven Day Fiance was going to blow that out the water!! How did I read Taste the Heat without falling madly in love with Cane Robicheaux?? Rachel is messing with my head…sexy firefighters first and then bad ass guys who ride motorcycles and have tattoos. I swear it can’t get much better ;)

“Cane Robicheaux exuded sex—sex and danger. And in spite of her many, many ,many attempts to pretend otherwise, she was every bit as susceptible to that potent combination as the rest of the female population.”

So Seven Day Fiance picks up a ways after Taste the Heat leaves off. Colby and Jason are planning their wedding and Cane has been suckered(by his sister) into participating in a fundraiser. Cane in a santa hat with no shirt on…I want to be the highest bidder!!! But, I wasn’t :(Angelle was...she won the “King of Abs.” And, oh boy, she got so much more than she was planning on. This quick and so so sweet romance, is explosive. I am talking 0-60 in less than a week. And my only complaint, just like in Taste the Heat, is that we are built up into a pile of panty soaked mush, but never given the good stuff…the heat ;) Jason was a sweety pie and I could deal with it, but with CANE….OMG, everything that comes out of his mouth screams SEX!!! Cane Robicheaux had me in the first chapter ;)

“There was taking chances and then there was duct taping her heart to a target and loading Cupid with the equivalent of a turbo missile.”

Cane is amazing! Sexy, smart, sweet, caring, BUT….he is letting family issues hold him back from being a great boyfriend, or even husband. And then Angelle, Angelle is a sweetheart. She is trying to break out of a shell that her family put her in, and be herself. I applaud her for the things she did in her past. She made a HUGE decision that devastated everyone around her but she did it for HER! I love that!!!

So, to sum it up, this is another fabulous story from Rachel Harris, that I devoured and loved. Again she has blown me away with amazingly strong women and a sexy as hell guy who both deserve one hell of a HEA :) There’s no whiney BS here. This is about facing yours past and finding love.Get these books, readers!!! They have the Book Bitch stamp of approval.

A-ma-zing. Rachel Harris has done it again and given us a fabulous book with a captivating storyline, amazing characters, romance, humour, flirting and a good dose of heartwarming beautiful moments combined with those that break your heart a little. I devoured it, I was glued to my kindle for four hours solid and my husband thought he had gone deaf.

When you are visualising what you are reading in such detail that you are smiling, laughing, swooning, sighing in utter appreciation, despairing and welling up with your hand on your chest in that 'oh be still my beating heart' type of way, then you know that you have found gem.

And believe me it is. If you haven't read 'Taste the Heat', then go read it now, because it introduces us to Cane and Angelle who were secondary characters. If you have, then you won't be disappointed; Cane is one of those literary men who will ruin you! Yes, ladies he is hot, off the scale hot and even though certain skills he possesses are kept behind closed doors, he has plenty of others for us to appreciate. This big brute of a boy may be tattooed, ride a motorbike and have a reputation with the ladies, but he has a huge heart, is protective, thoughtful and has a touch of geek going on. Angelle is a lady deserving of her name; sweet, clumsy and lacking confidence but with a quiet temerity, she is the type of lady you'd love as your friend. She saves him from the clutches of one of his past conquests, he owes her a favour and the title gives that away...

This has to be one of my favourite Bliss books (and I have read many). Cane and Angie's chemistry was perfect, they were realistic and I was cheering them on from the off. With great secondary characters; those we loved from the first book as well as new, it was simply a pleasure to read. 2 Robicheaux siblings settled, surely it's Sherry's turn next...

I received this as an ARC from the publisher for an honest & unbiased opinion (it is now on pre-order as it's a keeper)

I loved the first book in this series, Taste the Heat, but I loved this one even more. Yes it's the second book, but it can absolutely be read as a stand alone. You will see previous characters, but will be introduced to a whole slew of new ones who are just as fun.

Uber hot Cane Robicheaux, tattooed bartender, restaurant owner, closet geek is a drool worthy book boyfriend. Throw in his woman of any age whispering, and he is the total package. He had me melting more than a few times. Look out for any scene with Angell's gorgeous niece and Cane, total melting moments.

Shy, quiet, sweet, blushing Angelle Prejean is a character I would love to have as a best friend in real life. She was fantastic.

When you put these two together, the chemistry is so hot, the pages should be melting.

When Angelle bids on Cane at a charity auction, little did either know that it would be a monumental event.

Yes she has sort of already told her family she was engaged to Cane, but when she asks him to pose as her fiancé for thanksgiving week, Cane jumps at the chance. It's his protective streak rearing it's head. Plus he has been waiting for his chance for months to get the fiery redhead under him.

Watch as they get grilled by her family, discover more about each other, have more fun than should be legal and find out that what they aren't looking for is right under their nose.

With fun lines like "Together they looked like a deranged elf's wet dream. Or a Christmas card for Playgirl" you can not go wrong. This is one author I am putting on my auto buy list.

This was such a fantastic story! I loved Cane and Angelle together! They had such an magnetic attraction and great chemistry and I really enjoyed the story line. Cane is so sexy, sweet, and such a caring man (and a new book boyfriend! love him!). Angie is shy but strong and determined to do things on her own terms. This story is told from both their POV’s and I enjoyed both their perspectives.

I thought the beginning was great and from there everything unfolded nicely. There is a really good build and a nice pace with just the right amount of conflict, I couldn't put it down. There are some emotional moments, especially when they're sharing about their pasts. How they work through their feelings with one another provided the perfect bit of anticipation as well. Cane and Angelle are both such strong characters, watching them both grow and open up was so heartfelt. There were a lot of playful parts throughout the story too – I loved Cane meeting her family! I found myself smiling through most of the book.

This is book two in a series but can be read as a standalone. Half way through I decided I had to read the first book, Taste the Heat, because I was enjoying this one so much. I really liked all the other characters that were introduced and wanted to know more about them and their lives. It looks like there will be a book 3 in the series as well.

I thought the ending was wonderful and the epilogue was just icing on the cake – I might have actually clapped! This book left me feeling totally happy! Such a sweet love story! Gotta love a bad boy and a shy girl coming together! :-)

Rachel Harris totally rocked my socks off with this one! I mean lord the bad bot Cane is so delicious and hiding a real guy underneath all his love em and leave em attitude. That tag and bag attitude had me laughing because his tats and attitude have people fooled. But Angelle stole the story because she is so dam funny with her made up fiance and her made up wedding plans. Man this book had me laughing thinking about how she told her family she had a fiance and she wasn't even dating.

But things change for the better for Angelle when she wins Cane Robicheaux in a bachelor charity auction. She asks Cane to go along with being her fiance for seven days and a t first Cane doesn't think it is a good idea but soon gives in to her because deep down inside Cane is curious about her and he wants to get to know her better so he can get her out of his system but what happens is anything but ordinary for these two.

I have to say that if you want a cute quirky love story about two people who are opposites of each other but find one common ground to come together then this is the story for you. I loved how things weren't rushed and things played out. I love a good romance story and I loved how Rachel threw some monkey wrenches in the mix but at the end of the day these two people from opposite worlds come together and make it work.

Rachel huge kudos to you and I can't wait for the next book you write! As always you totally ROCK MY SOCKS OFF!

I loved the 1st book in this series, Taste of Heat, and it set such a high bar that I didn't see how Rachel could top it. That said... I was totally blown away by Seven Day Fiance! Rachel has done it again! This is one AMAZING book!

We met Angelle Prejean and Cane Robicheaux in Taste of Heat. I'm glad Rachel has returned to Magnolia Springs and given them their own story full of surprising twists. We are treated to character updates since Taste of Heat and we get to meet "Angel's" family. Since I finished the book last Friday, I'm still obsessing about the characters. Cane is a perfect tortured hero, a Canjun-in-the-kitchen sexy all manly MAN (note all the capitals!).

For those who dread a book's ending, don't! No worries with Rachel! Rachel's endings are just perfect, always-surprising, feel-good endings!

I can hardly wait for the next book in this series! WooHoo! I Love Rachel's Books!!!!!

5 STARS!!!!!!

So wow after reading SEVEN DAY FIANCE I've decided I need to take a trip down south and find me some good ole home cooked southern fried man!

Cane and Angie sizzle on the pages. It's not a slow build-up either, it's right there like a bright light flashing. Both of them know it. Both of them are testing it. Both of them enjoy it.

I absolutely loved each page of this story. I loved being down in Louisiana and learning about different cultures, definitely want to experience what these characters did.

Harris has a way with words and emotions. She had me laughing and crying throughout the story. This is definitely one that I shelf for another read through later when I'm feeling just a little bit homesick. I know I can visit Angie's family and feel like I belong.

I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of this book and it was wonderful!! While the basic premise isn't new - taking home a fake fiance to prove to the family your doing well - the story itself is fresh, fun, and sexy! You will root for the H/H Angelle and Cane from beginning to end. Wonderful read with a Cajun flair. Grab this one for a fun read. Highly recommended

I LOVE Cane even more now! What a great, sweet book. Seeing these two develop and grow in their relationship was wonderful.

Not to mention Rachels Harris' writing is superb as usual! I can happily lose myself in her words and enjoy myself as I read through her stories. <3

This review includes the first two books in Rachel Harris' Love and Games series.

One of the best experiences of reading is finding new authors who you can count on to deliver again and again and whose work you immediately connect with. After just two books, I can safely put Rachel Harris in that category. Taste the Heat and Seven Day Fiancé are everything you want in a contemporary romance: smart, loveable heroines, off-the-charts chemistry, believable romance that makes your guts clench, engaging plot lines, and of course swoon-worthy heroes who melt your heart. I was swept away by these two stories, unable to do anything but feverishly read on until I got my happy ending. Harris perfectly balances sugar and spice, tension and release, and the reward couldn't have been sweeter.

In Taste the Heat, we meet Colby Robicheaux, a successful chef who returns home after the death of her father to help run the family restaurant. She isn't happy being back in her small hometown of Magnolia Springs, where there are few secrets kept hidden, and she plans to leave once the summer is over. Colby has a secret of her own, one that has shaped her from a starry-eyed girl of eighteen to the jaded, guarded woman she is today. She doesn't believe in love and faithfulness due to seeing infidelity repeat itself over and over again in her life. Things change, however, when she runs into her childhood crush. Jason Landry is the town's fire captain who is still putting the pieces of his life together after losing his high school sweetheart and wife four years ago. He's a single dad raising a pre-teen daughter, trying to do his best by her. He wants companionship and a female presence in his daughter's life, but isn't looking for love or to have his heart broken again.

To be honest, I've grown wary of no-strings-attached romances. Partly because it's formulaic and overdone, and partly because I could never see myself entering that kind of relationship. I wear my heart on my sleeve, and I know emotions would always get the better of me. Thankfully, Rachel Harris keeps the drama usually accompanied with these stories to a minimum. Although Jason and Colby start what's supposed to be only a summer fling, the love and bond these two share can't be denied for long. Colby has loved Jason for most of her life, so it was only a matter of time until she realizes she was in too deep from the beginning, and Jason's walls completely crumble as he sees how perfectly Colby fits his family.

The heart of the story ends up being less about Jason and Colby falling in love than Jason slowly winning Colby's trust. She doesn't think she can ever be in a committed relationship and is truly fearful of being cheated on (again). But here's the thing: Jason is one of the good good ones. He is dependable, and loving, and kind, and so worthy of anyone's trust. The steps he takes to get past Colby's walls are ADORABLE. You'll have to see for yourself. :) (I did worry that Jason's love for his first wife would play too strong of a part in this story (I'm a sucker for the hero and heroine being each other's first love). That's a personal thing, though. His healthy marriage does show Colby how honorable of a guy he truly is.)

Magnolia Springs boasts a colorful cast of characters, from Jason's loquacious daughter who likes playing matchmaker, to Colby's siblings Cane and Sherry, to Awkward Angie, the new girl in town. One of the best and most original aspects of this series is the setting within the Cajun culture of New Orleans. I loved reading about their unique customs and habits and dialogues. It's a nice spin to the small town romance trope.

It's obvious from Taste the Heat that Cane and Angelle would be our hero and heroine for Seven Day Fiancé. Their story is still fresh on my mind and is even better than the first. Let me say that this book instantly became one of my all time favorite romances. THAT ENDING. *Swoon.* But I'm getting ahead of myself.

Cane is the town's requisite bad boy... or is he? He has the sexy tattoos, the sinfully perfect body, the motorcycle, and the dimples. But he's also a closet math nerd, likes to spout random factoids, and watches the Discovery Channel religiously. Oh, and he plays the guitar and sings in a band. Sold! Being inside his head is the icing on the cake. He's funny and confident without being cocky, protective of his sisters, a caring friend to Jason and his daughter, and he likes to say "darlin'" (that's important, okay?). The problem? He's also a bit of a playboy. Cane, like Colby, doesn't believe in fidelity, but he guards his heart by engaging in meaningless, short-lived relationships. Only, ever since Angelle arrived in town, Cane's boat is now being rocked.

I always worry whenever I fall head over heels in love with the hero that the heroine won't deserve him. I am happy to say that is so not the case here. I simply adored Angelle. She is awkward and shy and clumsy, especially around Cane. He makes her nervous. He makes her heart stutter. But she's determined to not be that girl anymore. After rejecting her longtime boyfriend's proposal, a boyfriend she never really felt passionate about, she leaves her hometown in an effort to rebuild herself. She no longer wants to be seen as someone who needs to be taken care of and sheltered. Rachel Harris does a beautiful job with her character arc. Angelle remains the girl who blushes and sometimes adorably stammers, but she also becomes a strong woman in her own right.

We've all seen the "fake boyfriend/fiancé/husband" story line before, but Rachel Harris somehow manages to make this story wholly fresh and inviting. Angelle wants to prove to her family that she can make her own choices and find her own path in life, and so tells the little white lie of Cane being her fiancé. When she propositions Cane to go home with her for the Thanksgiving weekend, he agrees, partly because he feels the need to help her but also because he's ready to act on the chemistry that has been sizzling between them. That's not an exaggeration in the least. The tension they share is like a third character, forever present. Watching them succumb to their attraction was entirely too much fun. Beyond the sexual chemistry, though, Cane and Angelle bonded through friendship as well. They open up to one another, more than they have with anyone else, and slowly fall in love. It takes Cane a while longer to admit his feelings, for fear that he'll eventually hurt Angelle, but when he does he really, really brings the swoon. He'll do whatever it takes to show her that he loves her "for real". Again, THAT ENDING. One of my favorite proposal scenes ever. I could read this couple's story again and again, it's that good. I believe in their connection, in their romance, and most importantly in their happy ending. Individually, they are so loveable, and together they make one of the cutest couples ever.

The next book in the Love and Games series should hopefully be wild Sherry's, and I'm begging Rachel Harris right now that it won't be the last.

I am seriously running out of ways to say just how much I adore both Rachel Harris and her books, guys – but I do. I love her books.

Continuing her stories about the incredible cast of characters introduced in Taste the Heat, SEVEN DAY FIANCE offers just as much heat and even more steamy romance than that of its predecessor. While reading, this happily married lady imaged just what sort of man she would like to lay her hands on if she had ever been given the opportunity to win the date of her dreams with the guy of her dreams. (Of course, I would want it to be my husband *wink wink* but when reading about “fictional” situations and thinking about it hypothetically, it is okay for a girl to dream, right?)

We were introduced to Colby Robicheaux and Jason Landry in Taste the Heat, SEVEN DAY FIANCE follows the story of Angelle Prejean and Colby’s brother and Jason’s best friend, Cane Robicheaux. Oh my, if you thought Jason was H-O-T in Taste the Heat, just you wait until you get a load of what Cane has to offer! In addition to an award-winning set of abs, he also has a personality that will make any girl with a pulse swoon. What I loved discovering while reading SEVEN DAY FIANCE is that hidden beneath Cane’s rock-solid exterior is a cuddly teddy bear that will set every reader off into romantic fits.

As with the turn of events in Taste the Heat, SEVEN DAY FIANCE unveils it’s plot in layers, only feeding the reader bits and pieces at a time. Though we know that Angelle is needing the irresistible Cane to become her “fiancé” for seven days (the title tells you that much), the story doesn’t reveal that fact until a number of pages in. I enjoyed reading early in the book as the auction leading to Angelle’s “possession” of Cane took place – but where I REALLY fell in love with this book was once Angelle and Cane reach Angelle’s hometown and interact her family and friends. Rachel writes about the small town and the people within it as though they were were really a part of her home. You can tell that Rachel knows and loves these characters dearly, and the way she writes about them ensures that the reader will come to know and love them, too. (Think Sweet Home Alabama, or perhaps Where the Heart Is – only Cajun-style.)

I appreciated the rebellious spirit that lay within Angelle – the little, red-headed firecracker. I think it was this spirit that ultimately led her to Cane. Also, I found it ironic that Angelle left home to “find herself” and to do things that she she was always afraid to do at home, but it was after returning back home that she found the one thing she’d needed all along… Yeah… OK, Cane had a bit to do with it, too… But I digress.

Rachel writes contemporaries with finesse. She shows how to create real problems for her characters – and she finds real ways for them to work through those problems. I may have found Colby and Jason’s problems to be more exciting and quite a bit more of a challenge to get through, but there is plenty of drama to be had in SEVEN DAY FIANCE. As I said before, reading about the small town where Angelle grew up alone is more than worth the price of the book. (And there is Cane, too…)

Later in the book, a series of misunderstandings drive the story to its inevitable conclusion. While I did see the end coming a mile away (this is a romance, guys) I enjoyed every minute of the journey. Not to mention, Rachel shows just how much fun can be had when your fake fiancé is as tempting as someone like Cane. Plus, how many lies can one tell before the truth is found out? …Or before the lies become the truth?

In Summary: A good, clean, solid romance is what I wanted going in – and a good, (mostly) clean solid romance (topped off with stellar writing and an unforgettable cast of characters) is what I got!

…and when it comes to fantastic romances, what more could you want?

(Aside from your very own Cane, of course.)

Seven Day Fiance Review on K-Books

Having been a fan of Rachel Harris since the moment I read her debut YA novel, My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century, I was so excited about her Adult Romance series. After devouring Taste the Heat and hearing that Rachel was writing Cane's story I could not wait to read it. Imagine my utter excitement when she said I could be one of her beta readers for it... *insert OH. MY. GOD. Squeal here* Seven Day Fiance is everything I expected from a Rachel Harris novel and more. It completely blew me away.

Rachel Harris has once again proven herself as a fantastic author and I am just completely in love with her writing style and story telling. Her romance books and fantastic and are so easy to read that once you start you just get completely lost in the story and cannot put the book down because it's so amazing and addictive.

Now in Taste the Heat I fell head over heels in love with Jason... After Seven Day Fiance? Jason who? It's all about Cane people. He is just so .... *droool* He's drop dead gorgeous, can cook... and has tattoos.... *swoon* I fell head over heels in love with him. He is hte typical bad boy that every girl will fall head over heels in love with. The more of this book I read the more I loved Cane and by the end... yeah I had it bad for him. He is officially one of my favourite book boys ever!

Rachel Harris is officially my hero! I'm not saying why because that would totally spoil a very important part of the book but after reading one particular chapter I just had to email Rachel to say how she was my hero because of one particular character development. Angelle is officially one of my favourite characters ever and I loved how Rachel created her. She is hte perfect book and it is about time we had a character like Angelle gracing the pages of an adult romance novel. If you've read the book you'll know exactly what I am talking about... if you haven't well go read it now!

Seven Day Fiance is without a doubt one of the best romance novels I have ever read. Rachel has definitely found her stride in writing contemporary. I loved every moment of it and it has everything that any romance fan will want. A super awesome and realistic heroine that we can all relate to, a super hot bad boy who is totally perfect deep down. Lots of red-hot chemistry and heart-fluttering romance. It's a must-read for everyone. I love it and couldn't put it down.

Loved seeing more of the Robicheaux fam!

Really enjoyed Cane and Angelle's story. From the moment they met in he last book, I knew they would have good chemistry and that their story would be a good one. I loved Angelle. She had really worked hard to become strong on her own, and I loved that Cane saw that strength--even more than she did herself.

And bonus-- it had an epilogue. :)

Content: This one was a little lighter on the innuendo than the first one, but still more than normal for what I've read in Bliss. Some language, fade to black scene.
