Inzared gathers her courage and makes the odyssey, only to find life in the remote area very different than what she remembers. Will she stay in the mountains she loves? Or will she return to the Romanoff Brothers Circus and regain her title as Queen of the Elephant Riders? What about Cecil, the elephant that is her confidante and best friend? L.Leander was raised in Lower Michigan, graduating from Hillman Community School. She worked in the Office Management field for many years, later attending Hot Springs Beauty Academy in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where she opened a beauty salon and taught cosmetology.

Ms. Leander began writing at the age of ten, when she wrote a short story for her English Class entitled "Three Mice On The Moon." The project received top honors in the class and her English teacher encouraged her to keep writing. She did just that, penning short stories and poems in her spare time.

Ms. Leander later began writing songs in her teens and singing them with her father. She has published and won awards for her songwriting and is a sought-after performer on the singer/songwriter circuit.

INZARED, Queen of the Elephant Riders is her first book, and is number one in a series about a Gypsy wagon circus in pre-Civil War America. The second in the series is due to be published in the fall. Two non-fiction books are also in the works and the author plans to publish them in 2013.

Ms. Leander currently lives between Wisconsin and Mazatlan, Mexico. She says, "The tropical beauty and weather of Mazatlan inspires me to write every day. I belong to a group of writers there who offer encouragement and critique. The cornfields, cows and lush green grass of Wisconsin keep me ever-mindful of my midwestern roots. My biggest hope is that people will enjoy reading my work as much as I enjoy writing it!"

Enjoyed this sequel very much. It is almost a stand-alone book since the author actually retells Inzared's life, as depicted in the first book of the series, but I suggest you experience Inzared, Queen of the Elephant Riders first. As a (ha, ha) self-appointed member of the “Gypsy Police,” I try to comb through potential stereotypes. My great-grandmother and grandmother were drabarnis, Gypsy herbalists and “fortunetellers.” The only objection I have to the word “fortuneteller” is that the Romanes word “dukker” has a double meaning: making up fortunes to earn money. As healers, we are trained to do no harm. That would include being very careful when reading cards, tea leaves, palms and interpreting dreams. So we don't call it "fortunetelling,” we call it “advising,” because we would never harm the psyche or the physical body. However, it is an accepted word and gives a better idea of the nature of the book so I understand its use. The author does a lovely job in explaining the properties of some herbs and their therapeutic use in healing. I grew up in Philly, pure cement, no lawns, so all my knowledge was in the employment of pre-dried herbs from vendors. Since the second book of the series took place in a different venue from the first book, there is room for different characters and other situations. It was very exciting at times and really gave an idea of what it was like to travel the mountains in pre-Civil War days. The third novel promises to be just as exciting since it will take place in another venue with (I'm guessing) more new characters added. For a charming yet hardy heroine, I recommend the Inzared books!

I fell in love with Inzared in the first book, but was disappointed in Inzared, The Fortune Teller. I read it on Kindle, and from the first page there were many errors. It was not at all what I expected from this wonderful author.

INZARED, The Fortune Teller, opens three years after the end of the first book, reuniting us with Inzared as she delves into the role of a fortune teller and healer with the Romanoff Brothers circus. However, the events from the first book(which I won't spoil here) still plague her dreams, leaving her feeling lost. In order to deal with her emotions, Inzared travels back to the home she left to join the circus years before. From this simple beginning, we follow Inzared on her travels, experiencing her trials and tribulations which help her grow as a mother, healer, and person, as well as overcome the tragedies of her past.

This was a wonderful follow-up to INZARED, Queen of the Elephant Riders. Where the first book was primarily set with the circus, this book finds Inzared on the road between show seasons, meeting interesting new characters, and finding plenty of adventure along the way. We are treated to a return to the circus towards the end, with an exciting climax to boot!

L.Leander has done a wonderful job of capturing the powerful emotion of Inzared's reunion with the parents she left without a word to join the circus, as well as how she deals with the events from the first book. Where L.Leander brought to life the atmosphere of an 1800s circus in Queen of the Elephant Riders, she now paints a vivid portrait of Appalachia and those who live there.

I did miss the ambiance of the Romanoff Brothers circus that L.Leander created in the first book, but thoroughly enjoyed INZARED, The Fortune Teller. With how the book ends, the possibilities are endless for Book 3. Well done, L. Leander!
