Left me puzzled.

The beginnings fun but then the author rushes right to a bit very well structured ending of not just this book but what looks to be the whole series. Basically it's too short n extra chapter of two would maybe have fixed the problem.

Bayou Spring is my second read in the Miss Fortune World by Riley Blake. Miss Fortune, the ex-CIA agent in hiding, and the rest of the Swamp Team 3 are once again trying to keep someone out of trouble. Detective Carter, as usual, is trying to get to the crux of the matter before they all get hurt. I love the folksy dialogue of the bayou characters, the quick wit, rural charm and humor, and the colorfully choreographed action scenes, all of which Blake writes so well.

There is a lot happening in this short adventure that will keep you entertained from the first page to the last. The Daigle crime family is at it again. There is nothing more dangerous than when the father and son (Jax and Brigham) of a notorious crime family are at war. Anything can happen and, in this case, it does. In this series, Fortune, Gertie, and Ida are attending a funeral at Hollowman’s Farm, the home of Jax Daigle. With a multi-million-dollar bounty on her head, Fortune has to be on her guard. This is not your traditional group of grieving mourners. This funeral is full of twists, surprises, and unexpected consequences, none of which am I going to spoil. It’s another action-packed and fun adventure in the Miss Fortune World of Riley Blake.

The mob finally fight it out in the bayou

Jax and Bringham finally have their last fight after everyone attends the funeral for Lucille the cow. The plan was to put Lucille's casket on a boat and light it on fire and send it down toe bayou for burial. But a tip to check the boat and casket for hidden evidence brings Carter and the ATF to stop the burial. Plenty of evidence and weapons from past crimes are collected. Then the fireworks begin.

Great read

These stories in this series are short, but well written and fast-paced. Lots of action and crazy mobsters! Fun, fun!😉

Reading is easy.

Good read. If you have to put it down, that's ok because it's easy to pick right up again And continue.
