Erin ran away from Sean's birthday party after she witnessed Sean and Louise kiss. Her world has since been torn apart by the pain caused by Sean's Betrayal and the fire is not only burning on the outside but from within, threatening to strip her of her sanity. Can Erin handle the Torment that Louise and Sean are inflicting on her? Can she fight the burning from inside?
Follow Erin on her emotional roller-coaster as she begins to learn to control her fire powers and a friendship soon starts to blossom when Erin begins to learn self-defence. Her appearance begins to change when she starts fighting with those around her. Everyone, but Erin, believes that Sean is under some kind of spell and they will go to extreme lengths to prove it.
Lavinia originally grew up in Cheshire and now lives in a small village just outside of Edinburgh with her husband, two children and two fur babies. Writing has always been something that Lavinia has loved since an early age. Over the years Lavinia has faced many obstacles but this has only spurred her on. In 2017 Lavinia was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer. She has chosen to not let this define her, if anything it has given her the drive to do more.
First let me say this cover is amazing! And that I was up late and up early to finish this book. I was sad when the book ended as I wanted more lol.
Now you do not get really any action in here this is more about Erin learning about her powers and how to try and control them. Also Erin and Sean are no longer the same as Sean made the big no-no of kissing Louise!
With the breakup of Sean and Erin things are not all peaches and cream. Erin has pretty much changed and also her attitude which is HUGE! Sean is being held under a spell and everyone is racing to figure out how to end the spell, because if no one can figure it out. Well lets just say Sean will forget who Erin is and no one wants that to happen but Louise.
There is a true reason why Sean is under this spell and most of it is payback. The characters have developed greatly and the writing style has improved more and more. Along with that being said I can tell there will be more in this series because there is so much that can go on. The ending just leaves you wondering what will happen next, and what the heck does "the red one" the key to?
I really liked how you got more peoples p.o.v. than just Erin's, that was good for the story so you knew everything that was going on.
Favorite Line "It's all down to soul mates breaking apart."
What an emotional roller cost that was as always! Lovvvveeeddd it! Erin is heartbroken! She can't believe Sean would kiss that nasty Leigh! Sean has suddenly totally changed and everyone thinks there is something more going on except for Erin she is to heart broken and TOO angry to care! But is she? I loved how this story went from each one of the group and told how they were doing. It added a fresh spin to already great series! This one had a mystery of a ending and I can't wait for the next book!
I was given this book by author in exchange for honest review
This book, in my opinion, is the authors best work to date. I'm actually quite glad I started reading it. The high quality of the writing continues throughout. It flows. There's a great story line and excellent dialog. It really builds on the other two books quite nicely. Would think that this book would appeal to any adult also.
As I read along I found myself empathizing with Erin. In this story she's just reaching the age she's really interested in boys. At the same time she is learning how to use her powers and control them.
I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review. I had the honor to adopt Lavinia Urban a couple of months ago, and since then I've become one of her fans, I simply love her writing style, the way she forms her characters every book. You can’t possible hate anything about her books, you will love them! Erin the Fire Goddess:Torment made me cry sometimes, it’s kind of sad, especially for Erin...but the ending of the book really killed me. I couldn't believe it ended that way and now I have to wait. I don’t know if I can... So the story starts right where Erin the Fire Goddess: Betrayal left, Erin is suffering because she saw Sean, her soul mate, kissing Louise. Now she has to find a way to get back to school, ignore all the hate words about her and try to forget Sean. Luckily she has Kasey-ray, her sister, to help her in times like these. I really admire her because she stands up for her. After a sad scene at school, Erin decides she needs a makeover, so she goes and makes her hair red, like flames on her hair. After people start seeing changes in her they stop with the bulling, and Erin starts training, trying to control her powers and doing self defense classes with Jo. But things with Sean keep getting worse, he is acting like a zombie and still hanging around Louise like a sad puppy...It took all the group a while to figure out that Sean is under a spell done by Louise and her aunt. They kidnapped Sean, and took him to Dr. Hammersmith’s to see what they could do to stop the spell. At first Erin didn't believe that he was under a spell, not after what he did and how much he made her suffer, but after some time with him, she realized that Sean needed her, he won’t get better and just keeps staring at nothing. Sometimes he reacts only to her, follows her with his eyes, but that's pretty much the only this he ever does, and it's hurting her more that she can't do more for him, to have the old Sean back, the love of her life and her soul mate.
“Well just remember love conquers all”
They story will keep you hanging on, to see what can happen next. You will get to know the beautiful girl Erin and see what she does to recover, how bad she can suffer. It was a thrilling book and I can’t wait for the next one. Again, Lavinia Urban you really killed me with that ending. But thank you for the opportunity! I highly recommend all the books, they are great and it’s impossible not to love them!

So much to say and so much I can't without giving everything away. Urban's growth as an author is evident with each new installment of Erin's story. In her acknowledgements, she tells Lee Clark that "patience is a virtue." I guess she'll be telling me that a lot now, too.
The queen of cliffhangers and anticipation has me antsy for the next book and she's just not writing it fast enough. This is a problem inherent with falling in love with the characters and worldscape of a series. The only distraction from the wait is to read someone else's work until book 4 in the Erin series is finally available. (Do you remember the midnight madness when a new Harry Potter book came out? Yeah, I'm that bad.)
Erin's return to school after the disastrous loss of control at Sean's birthday party is just as bad as she feared. Now she isn't just mocked for how ugly her birthmark makes her, the other students treat her as a pariah. It's only with the support of Kasey-ray, their friends and unexpected support from a couple of teachers that she is able to continue going to school
Louise still has Sean and he seems to be getting worse. Without telling Erin, everyone decides to kidnap Sean, hoping that keeping him from Louise will bring him to his senses. Except there's more going on than they anticipated. Louise is really not playing nice and her aunt is up to her elbows in this mess.
Dr. Hammersmith confirms their suspicions as to what is wrong with Sean. The gang (again without telling Erin) decides to do some investigating. Maybe they can find out how to bring him back to normal. With Justin at the helm, they get their answers. Unfortunately, the answers only lead to more questions. They also increase everyone's fears for Sean.
When I got to the end of the book, I was thinking "really?!" with my head cocked sideways. I thought about what had just been revealed and then about a few statements made by one of Erin's teachers. Urban now has her foot squarely on top of my favorite genre. Fantasy. She was already there with her reveal about the meteor in the bottom of the lake and its effects on the residents on Galladale.
I hope she keeps Erin's story going for a long time. Hey, maybe there will be spin-off. There's some possibilities here, don't you think? Hmm?
At the time of this posting, this book is currently only available on Amazon and Smashwords.
Returning to school after the fire incident is just as difficult as ever for Erin. Everyone is aware of what she can do and they make her life uncomfortable when they ostracize her. Struggling to come to terms with Sean’s duplicity and trying to control the fire within her are just a couple more challenges that she faces in this instalment. Everyone who cares about Erin pulls together to help her through, and we see her relationship with Kasey-Ray become even stronger than before as they discover the reason for Sean’s behaviour.
The first thing I noticed when I read this book was a marked improvement in the writing style. The work was somehow tighter, Lavinia’s experience is showing in her writing skills as she works through this series.
Torment was quite a short book and finished on a cliffhanger, (I hate cliffhangers) and for me it would have been more enjoyable if she had carried on for a few thousand words and not ended in such a crucial part!
Holy smokes, I made the mistake of starting this book late at night, and as you can imagine I had issues putting it down! Each book in the Fire Goddess series has gotten better and better! I love everything about this one, from the cover to the writing, character development, story line..... everything! Poor Erin just can't catch a break, she does however catch her boyfriend in a pretty compromising situation at his birthday party! Erin and Sean start having some relationship problems thanks to a spell cast on him but Erin doesn't realize this at first. I love how in this installment, we can see other character perspectives. In some books this kind of format is a failure, but Urban pulls it off fabulously! I like that Erin has to rely more on others as well in this book. Her powers have been found out and she really does come into her own through (no pun intended here) trial by fire. I booked hopped from 1-3 and I just hate that I have to wait for the next one!!
"Erin the Fire Goddess:Torment" by Lavinia Urban is the third and in my view the most enjoyable in the series. Erin is back at school for her final year, heart broken over Sean's betrayal and since everyone knows about her ability to create fire, she is branded a witch and avoided by many. As she bravely faces school and her love rival Louise she comes very much into her own, learning to control her power more and be more confident throughout. The relationship with her sister is stronger than ever and she begins to wonder - like everyone around her, whether Sean might be under a spell and turned away from her because of it. The author has become more playful and confident, this book is great entertainment value for young adults.
Free e-book from the author in return for an honest review!
The third book in the series picks up where the second one ended, leaving the main character in an emotional mess. We follow the group of friends trying to solve the problems, adding a new angle to the story (and introducing my favorite character, a witch) and showing how teen aged young people handle emotional problems and how difficult love can be in that age (not that it gets much easier later, but still).
It was fun how to read that the biggest problem got solved how I expected it to be (although I had been waiting for a Snow White or Sleeping Beauty solution ;-) not my luck).
You already get introduced to a few new elements in the story, and I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series!
This series is just getting better and better. The characters are all established, so the book could just get straight into the action without worrying about scene setting or character building. Erin really doesn’t have it easy and Sean’s betrayal hurt more than she could imagine, and this book continues the story right where Betrayal left off. The writing style is improving with each book and it flows smoothly, leaving it easy to get completely absorbed chapter after chapter. There is still so much more to come from this series, and I think it’s only just beginning to get interesting ~ esp. with were it finished. I can’t wait to read more.
I received an e-copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Having read the first two books in this series I was very eager to read this installment. I intended to read the first few chapters and found myself unable to put the book down, finishing it in one sitting. I was instantly transported into Erin's world as the characters are so intriguing and realistic. Some parts made me giggle and others left me surprised. I have to admit that I was gutted when I realised that I had reached the end of the book as I had so many questions. Yet again I am desperate to read the next book which I hope will come sooner rather than later. I would recommend this series to anyone.
Again, I love this series, and can't wait til the next book. Torment picks up right where Betrayal left off, with Erin broken after Sean's betrayal, and trying to find a way to control her fire. After a while, and a little help, they all figure out that Sean is under a spell from Louise, who's aunt is a witch, not just a florist. Erin finally believes it, and does everything she can to try to get Sean better, but in the end, it turns out being a simple I love you that brings him back, and the Dr doesn't seem too happy about that! I'm also looking forward to seeing who these new characters are at the lake, and what they'll contribute to Erin's story.
Well ever since I started this series I haven't been able to stop reading them!
3rd one read and I LOVED it! The ending was the best part, the twist was great. You learnt more about the other characters and got a sneaky peek at the things that lay ahead.
Jo has become one of my favourite characters along with Erin. Scott's character has definitely progressed and it will be interesting to see where that ends up.
Fingers crossed everything works out for her and Sean as I feel everything is dependent on them!
I can't wait to read the next one - I believe this is Jo's Story and then Changes. I'm so excited to continue reading.
I received a copy from the author for an honest review. I have followed this story from the very first book. It is wonderful how Erin has gone from the timid teen to one that has grown into a beautiful young lady that is learning her powers and how to deal with them. But with Sean, her soul mate in the grip of Louise, will she be able to get the one person she loves back? What will everyone discover is different about Sean and will they be able to save him and possibly bring balance back to the world?
this book is not only great for around young teenage years, but as an adult i have enjoyed reading about Erin and Sean; Kelly, James, and Paul; Justin and Kasey-Ray. every character really comes alive in a picture for you as you read each book. i look forward to getting these books in paperback for my daughter so she can read and have these wonderful stories for when she gets old enough to read them. i highly recommend all of the Erin The Fire Goddess books.
I was given this book by the author in return for an honest review.
OMG!!!! This was as brilliant as the previous 2 books in this series, in places it actually made me cry. This book had me gripped right from the start. I couldn't believe what happened to Sean an the trouble they had breaking the 2 curses that were placed on him. AN OMG Lavinia what a cliff-hanger to leave it on, am eagerly awaiting the next book in this series!!!!!!!!!!!
Erin is trying to balance life with her fire powers. In this installment Erin accepts Sean as her soul mate. But he has been taken from her, will their love survive witchcraft? I love this series and live that the author leaves you on a cliff hanger. Great paranormal read! WaAR
I'm not sure I like cliffhangers lol. I need the next book. This was amazing and I'm so happy about certain things. . confused about others and overall in love. The next book needs to hurry up lol
As the third book in this series this book also ended unfinished so I know another one will be coming, but for this one it was way too short. I mean I read through it in a few hours, if that. But I still loved it because I want to know what happens with all the characters. Erin and Sean. Kasey-Rae and Justin. The evil Louise, Scott and Linda. But I mean this one could have kept going, there were so many holes. I'm glad the first two were better because if this is how the series started I wouldn't have gone on.
