EVIDENCE POOL: murder detectives face a tricky case

Rate this book
Met detectives Nash and Moretti go up against the rich, the powerful, and the cunning!

Having celebrated sealing some lucrative deals the night before, Russian oligarch Alex Petrov heads to the swimming pool of luxury London mansion Heath Hall to clear his hangover.

However, floating in the water is the lifeless body of Petrov's assistant, Charlotte Harrington, and his belt is around the young woman’s neck.

Detective Inspector Pippa Nash and her sergeant, Nick Moretti, of the Met’s Homicide Command are called out to the scene.

Security at the residence on London’s Billionaires’ Row is sophisticated, and no intruders have entered or left overnight, so Nash puts the property on lockdown. She is sure the killer is still inside.

An incident room is set up within the house but Petrov and his bodyguards lock themselves in the mansion’s panic room and claim diplomatic immunity.

But they are not the only ones stonewalling the inquiry. It seems the house staff have much to hide. The detectives’ commander wants it shut down too.

Can the detectives join up the dots before they are taken off the case?

Very entertaining and captured my attention from the beginning. Detective Nash and Moretti were never sure who was their friend and who was the criminal. Very satisfactory end of the story which is always a boost for me. I am eager to read more by ian Robinson
