Jill Freyss-Charon is just trying to get through the year. After losing her father in a horrific car accident, she is eager to return to her summer job at a horse ranch where she knows everything will be just as it always is each summer.
But when a tanned young man washes up on the beach outside her tent one night, half-drowned and begging to be given shelter until morning, any hope of normality immediately vanishes.
Jill has dated Griffin Alexander's type before, and soon regrets taking him in when he decides to stay on at the ranch. She finds she is repelled by him, and doesn't believe his crazy story about being kidnapped and held to ransom... until three words escape his lips that send her head into a tailspin.
...Three words that threaten to unravel her painful past and bring her closer to this man she is trying to avoid - which will put her in more danger than either realizes.

I am so disappointed to not have loved this book. I loved Bella Forrest's Shade series and had such high hopes for Fall With Me. The synopsis seemed so interesting but the whole book just never really clicked for me. Griffin is the son of a very rich business man. He has pretty much wasted his life so far partying all over the world, drinking, taking drugs and enjoying different women every night. Then, he finds himself kidnapped on a yacht in the middle of the ocean. The kidnappers are asking his father for 7.2 million dollars and a confession. But, his father is not interested in paying any ransom. Griffin escapes and swims until he reaches land. He collapses on the beach and is rescued by Jill. Jill is a camp counselor that wants nothing more then a nice, quiet, predictable summer working at the camp. This does not include having a new and very handsome man at her camp. As the summer progresses, Griffin and Jill begin to find that their lives are interwoven in ways they might have never suspected. There are a couple of sex scenes in the book that just felt awkward to me. And, I thought it was going to be a stand alone but so I was surprised that it ended sort of up in the air and that there is supposed to be a sequel. So all in all, this book was just ok.
Bella Forrest is becoming one of those authors who can have her hand in many genres and tell a great story with many amazing characters. And that's what she has done with Fall With Me. It's captivating from the very first page and I felt instantly drawn into the lives of both Jill and Griffin. I wanted to know more about them and experience the story through their eyes, and that is exactly what happened. Instant connection is always the best kind of experience for a reader and by having that I was able to live the story.
After a year from hell, Jill Freyss-Charon wants nothing more than be able to have some sense of normality and be able to just lose herself in her summer job on a horse ranch. She wants nothing to do with anyone or anything and just wants to experience the summer with ease. This seems easy enough and is not much to ask for, until Griffin Alexander washes into her life. She literally stumbles upon his body on the beach she was camping on.
Griffin Alexander is the typical rich kid who has had it easy in life. Getting to roam the world and live freely at his choosing. Partying in many countries, having his way with many beautiful women, and having no responsibilities what's so ever. He is living the dream on his father's money and this might seem like the way to live, until an event caused him to rethink his position in life. Being kidnapped, would certainly do that to you and realising that no one really cares if you live or die, is another wake up call. So when he managed to swim his way upon a beach, he never expected that encountering Jill in this way would be his destiny.
At first, Jill is repelled by Griffin and his cockiness and brash behaviour. She knows his type and wants nothing to do with him or his way of life. But soon enough, the walls she has erected begin to crumble and Griffin sneaks his way into her life. Not knowing that what they are walking into together, may be in fact their undoing.
Fall With Me is a story that will have you turning the pages very quickly and eagerly, and wanting more. I really liked how fast I fell into it and how invested I became in both Jill and Griffin, and in the story. The many twists and turns will keep you riveted and I seriously think that there is more to come, it didn't feel over just yet even though it finished off nicely. That is all I'm going to say about that. Thank you Bella Forrest for providing me with an ARC of this book and I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a story that keeps you in suspense with a side order of romance and sexy time too ;)
From page one I was totally lost in this story. I became an addict wanting to know what happened and needing more and more. I was able to read this in one evening. There is something about Bella Forrest's books. I love every one I have read and I say that honestly. I finished and now I'm left kind of sad because I want more lol. Anyway you have Griffin who is like a rich party boy who cares about nobody but himself and Jill who is dealing with the horrific car crash that took her fathers life and paralyzed her mother. I found myself routing for them and their relationship. I don't want to give away to many spoilers because I really hate reading spoilers in a review. So anyway I loved this book. And I rated it 5 stars.
Something happened, though, right around the time I turned thirteen. Maybe it's because I grew taller than him, or because my voice got deeper than his, or any number of things, but one day it seemed like Dad woke up and decided he just didn't like me anymore. ~ Griffin, p.37
Jill was just going through the motions of life ever since she lost her father and her mother was left hanging on by a thread. My heart went out to her immediately, I mean she was really struggling to not get sucked under by it all. Even though part of her wished she'd moved on with her life like others her age, she was happy to go back to the same old summer job at the horse ranch. The normalcy and routine was kind of just what she needed, so when wealthy playboy Griffin literally washed up on the beach in front of her, you knew it wasn't going to be an easy season for the poor girl...especially when his arrival revealed secrets surrounding her father's death.
I liked Griffin with his easygoing personality right off the bat, and I couldn't help but hope he'd loosen Jill up a bit. Even after waking up in his kidnapper's boat and barely escaping thanks to his gifted swimming abilities, he's just a carefree guy who was learning to enjoy life beyond the parties and sex that he used to dedicate his time to.
"Sure," he says. "You're the boss." "Actually, I'm not." I push the bowl of ground hamburger toward him. "Because if I was, you wouldn't still be around. Here you can help me make the burgers." He grins and starts to reach for the bowl. "I'm happy to squeeze some beef for you, baby--" ~Jill and Griffin, p.84
Of course, responsible Jill had enough experience with the wealthy spoiled type thanks to her clingy ex, so what most thought was cute charisma she found to be completely irritating. She did everything in her power to send Griffin in the other direction despite her physical attraction to him, including being a class-A bitch to push him away. Thankfully Griffin is not a man to take the easy way out, and as Jill's frosty side began to melt, I really loved them together! They were like Yin and Yang, they just complemented each other so well and they both were able to open their eyes to something more.
The mystery surrounding Griffin's kidnapping and what was behind it all unravels slowly in the background of the story, and I loved the way it wove back around to Jill. It was unexpected and had me so anxious as the twists played out, because the root cause of it all is one sinister and cruel character! Jill and Griffin were thrown into a situation that would forever change their lives, and it was chilling up to the very end! A revelation of danger still lurking in the shadows for these two hints at more to come, so I'm hopeful we'll be getting a second book. I'm not ready to say goodbye to these characters just yet, and Jill and Griffin definitely have more story to tell!!
I absolutely enjoyed Fall With Me, it's a light romance with the suspense of a mystery and the emotion of a drama interspersed throughout to keep you captivated from start to finish!
3.5 or 4, I am debating.... I love the story.... I wish it was longer though the book is long enough, longer in a way on what counts in the story, it went quite fast near the end. Jill started off real bitter with everything reasonably so... and Griffin's character stayed true through and through.. he is hot and pretty cool. The idea of the story is hot, and I wish there was more to it on this book but I guess we'll have to wait for the next book... it is not a cliffhanger, but the story continues... which, of course I can't wait to read and hope for more action, and wish it written with more zest! lol...
It was an okay book. It wasn't good. It wasn't bad. It was definitely slow in the beginning but it had some nice moments and some suspense. Unfortunately the ending is quite rushed and the relatioship really forced. I was starting to like it at some point around the middle but when the relationship turned so sexual, it flopped for me. Jill was a real piece of work. She carries such a trauma but she was quite rude and I really don't get how her degree can be sociology. Griffin was okay one moment, awful the other. I was hoping that he would continue being all romantic but as soon as he kisses Jill...he wants her? The book went from soft romance to sexual in a snap. On the day of her birthday, Jill's ex, Sean, almost rapes her. She doesn't report it. For a moment she considers suicide and then she hooks up with Griffin and has sex. When Griffin finds out Sean almost raped her, he barely seems to care. I was like "Wtf?" I mean I liked what he said about expectations and potential etc, but that part was so wrong.
I think the book had potential but it was way too rushed so I didn't really like it.
I’m a huge fan of Bella Forrest and her YA vampire romance series, so I was excited to check out her New Adult contemporary romance title. Fall With Me was enjoyable and sweet, with a down to earth heroine.
Jill was definitely likeable. She had a good head on her shoulders and wasn’t afraid to work hard. She dealt with quite a bit since her father’s death and was just trying to get through the summer without any more life altering changes. Griffin, on the other hand, was the kind of character you can’t help but like and want to slap him at the same time. He was so sure of himself, easygoing to the point of being careless, and not the kind of person who took like seriously. And Jill was so mean to him after he inserted himself into her life as a camp counselor, which I loved, because I didn’t like his attitude, either.
Griffin slowly grew on me because I knew his intentions weren’t bad and getting his point of view was helpful, too. I loved that he learned a valuable lesson about working hard and being accountable at the same time he started to fall for Jill. It was one of those plots where you just know that everyone is turning into better versions of themselves.
The romance was wonderful because it was slow and fast at the same time. Jill went from hating the idea of Griffin to realizing she needed his help to falling for him on accident. What I love about Bella Forrest’s romances is that while it may take time for the characters to fall for each other, once they do, that’s it. There’s no long drawn out period of time where they fight it while also coming together on occasions and then go back to fighting. I enjoy the push and pull of other novels, but I always find her romances refreshing. There’s always external conflict, but I feel like the characters aren’t afraid to jump in once they get their feet wet despite their issues.
I was torn between a 3 and 4 star rating for a couple of reasons. I enjoyed Jill and Griffin’s romance and the contrast of reading a lighter romance compared to the darker vampire series I’m used to from the author was great and kept me interested. I loved the external plot in Fall With Me, the characters, and the way it ended. However, I almost felt like the conflict was resolved too quickly. I was expecting a little more of a slow resolution and the characters to be a little more unsure of the situation, but once all the cards were out on the table, it was as if everyone had a silent agreement to be totally cool with it. I also wished some of the romantic plot was drawn out a little longer. It was a bit quick from not wanting to kiss each other yet on a few separate occasions, as if they were trying to take things slow, to having sex on their first date. Maybe I’m used to heroines who need a little more time and little more reassurance about their relationship status. I kind of loved the quickness of it, but I also questioned it a little bit and thought it was rushed. I ended up settling for 4 stars because I think I’m comparing the book to A Shade of Vampire series, which I love so much more. 3 stars wouldn’t be fair, because Fall With Me was good and I devoured it in a matter of hours.
I will definitely read more novels by Bella Forrest. I enjoyed Fall With Me overall and would recommend it as a light and enjoyable NA contemporary romance. There's something so addicting about Bella Forrest's books and writing style and I can't seem to put her books down!
Bella, chica, you’re trying to drown me in hotness aren’t you? Don’t lie; I know your tricks. ;) Fall With Me by Bella Forrest is amazing and exactly the kind of book I enjoy reading on a sweltering summer day. Fall With Me follows 22-year-old Jill Freyss-Charon as she attempts to cope with a horrific tragedy that left her Mother in a wheelchair and her Father dead.
Jill’s entire life is on big clusterfuck and she’s hoping that her normal summer job will be an escape from everything she’s had to deal with since the accident. Cue Griffin washing up on beach after being kidnapped. Did I mention I love this book?
One great thing about Forrest’s books are they’re never boring. She brings us into the story right in the midst of things and Fall With Me is no different. The books starts with Griffin already at the kidnappers mercy. We see him work through his escape and eventual meeting with Jill.
Have I mentioned that Jill hates Griffin? Because she does. It’s hilarious how mean she is to him and yet at the same time there are totally parts of the book where I want to slap her and tell her to stop being suck a bitch. At the same time though, I really enjoyed Jill as a person.
She’s been through some pretty heavy stuff and the fact that she hasn’t given up on life and crawled into a corner to cry just makes me think she’s that much more awesome! Griffin on the other hand wasn’t exactly a model citizen when he washed up on that beach in California. But the great thing about his character is the fact that he grows so much as a person throughout the story.
That’s another thing I have to commend Forrest on. Her characters are always so well thought out. Even if you don’t start off with much, throughout the book you learn so much about what makes certain characters tick and that seriously makes a book for me.
Having characters I cn relate to and understand mixed with a good plot and some romance is definitely my kryptonite. Speaking of plot, without giving anything away I have to say I absolutely love the turn this story takes. There are a few twists and a few moments where you’re like holy crap, did that just happen?
All in all I would definitely recommend this book and hopefully there will be a sequel. With and ending like that there better be!
Fall with Me was a little hard for me to "fall" into. It was a slow read until about 40% of the book. I found it a little hard to feel the chemistry between Jill and Griffin.
In the beginning, we find out that Griffin was kidnapped, and escaped to a Beach in Cali. He is a man-whore, spoiled rich kid who parties a lot, drink, do drugs and have plenty of sex. Kinda typical in books nowadays. I do; however, love a redeemed man-whore though.
Jill lost her dad in a car accident a year ago, and it left her mother paralyzed. She dumped her boyfriend Sean, and comes across as a stuck up B****!!! She is mean and hateful for no apparent reason. I get that her Dad died, and mother is paralyzed but she is a peace of work. Someone should have slapped some sense into her. She was rude right off the bat to Griffin. I do like my heroines to be fiesty but she was over the top. She annoyed me something terrible.
While at the camp, Jill goes from miraculously hating Griffin to wanting to kiss him and jumping his pants. What the freaking frack??? It wasnt believable to me. I couldnt feel their chemistry. She just might be the reason, I couldnt fall into the book.
The ending felt a tad bit rushed to me. Secrets were revealed rather quickly, no anguish, no fall outs??? After all the foolery of what had happened to each other, I figure some sort of fight would go down, but I guess all that will happen in book 2. All in all, this book was OK... it wasnt great and it wasnt bad. It could have been a little bit better though.
I love how Bella developed her characters. But maybe it has something to do with the story being slow and fast at the same time.
It has a tendency to stray away, you can't help but be, "er right, next?"
at the same time, I think that the later part was so abrupt. I mean
BUT all in all it's a good book! You'll love Jill's claws and Griffin's dry humor. They're quite a pair, I'd say typical but that's being unfair because they had their own flair.
The past year for Jill has been very difficult with her father dying in a car crash , her mother being paralyzed and in a wheelchair and she had to put a hold on graduating and of course just to top it off she has a ex-boyfriend who won't leave her alone. To get away for the summer she has been offered to work at her family friend's ranch for their Summer camp. Griffin is a party boy and viewed as the slacker for his family. The novel starts with Griffin, being kidnapped and held for $7.2 Million and a confession. His family finds it a big joke and then a miracle intervenes and Griffin is able to escape and finds himself washed ashore on the ranch property by Jill. As the novel goes on , we find that Griffin and Jill are connected via his father's company and that the company has something to do with her father's death. Can Jill finally get some closure on her father's death and Griffin finally stand up to his father and prove that he is the better man. Find out in Bella Forrest's book "Fall With Me".
This was an well plotted romance between Jenna, whose fiance left her and became engaged to her best friend, and Sutton, the best friends older brother. Their relationship happens really fast, (almost too fast for me), and both set out to save his sister from similar pain. I found the conflict at the end of the book to be a little juvenile and I agree with other reviewers that it felt a little too high school for me. Not really my cup of tea, but i am sure many will enjoy.
Quick easy chick lite book, that looks like there will be a continuation. No vampires this time around. Just a little too short, I looked at the page numbers and there is a lot less than I realized. I guess that leaves me wanting more in the next book. I liked the characters and how the story came together.
The book was long but the story was not. What I mean by this is that the story line was rather drawn out without being as fleshed out as I wanted it to be. This book had all the ingredients of an amazing read but in the end it didn't quite hit it's mark. Solid effort though.
2.5 Stars. I found it had to get into this contemporary, mystery romance for New Adults. The concept was ok but the characters lacked chemistry and maturity.
