With an old friend in mortal danger and the Dragon King demanding her presence, vampire hunter Morgan Bailey is stuck between a rock and a volcano. Jack’s gone AWOL, her nemesis is running amok with a magical book, and soul vampires are snacking on steampunk enthusiasts. Not to mention Morgan still has a price on her head.
As if all that isn’t enough, a new power is growing inside Morgan. One so out of control it might be the one thing that tips her into madness.
Shéa MacLeod has dreamed of writing novels since before she could hold a crayon. She totally blames her mother.
Her favorite poem as a child was ‘Jabberwocky’, and Her favorite authors were Agatha Christie and Edgar Allan Poe. Which probably explains a lot.
After a six year sojourn in London, England, a dearth of good donuts has driven her back to her hometown. She now resides in the leafy green hills outside Portland, Oregon where she indulges in her fondness for strong coffee, Ancient Aliens reruns, lemon curd, and dragons.
Because everything's better with dragons.
Shéa is the author of the SUNWALKER SAGA (a fast paced urban fantasy series with a kick-ass heroine published by Montlake) and DRAGON WARS (a post-apocalyptic series with dragons)as well as the Cupcake Goddess novelettes.
What I liked: I really enjoy all the troubled waters Morgan finds herself treading in Kissed by Ice. The last book was a bit frustrating for me due to the length and the ending (no spoilers!). This novel read longer, if that makes sense. It didn't drag but so much was packed into it, it felt longer.
Oh, Indigo. I'm in a bit of a quandary about his whole situation and Morgan being in limbo. Yep, nuff said there without spoilers. Makes you want to know, doesn't it? So no hot sex scenes but a new hot male is introduced in this installment. Can't wait to see what happens with Haakon in upcoming books.
Kissed by Ice is action driven and character driven in a way. We learn more about secondary character, Eddie, and I loved what Ms MacLeod did with his back story. I always knew there was more to him than had been revealed.
I really enjoy reading Ms MacLeod's novels. The flow well, the editing is top notch and they more than hold my interest!
What I didn't like: I missed more Jack in Kissed by Ice. I know he's been a bit of an a*s in previous books but he was almost a nonentity and for a Guardian, that didn't sit well with me.
Overall, a good, strong, read for me. And one of the best parts, the surprise ending. Yep, can't wait for the next one.
Well Morgan has a new power and Inigo is awake what can go wrong... so much drama, suspense and fighting. I loved every bit of it. I can’t wait to get on to book 6!
Have loved getting to know Morgan Bailey, on her journey to discovering exactly what, who and why she is!
A fiery red headed Vamp hunter, with the best friends a girl could want. Each and everyone of her friends not only love her as friends but they all have an amazing bond. Even new friends become more than just friends.
So as with all the other titles in this series Morgan has to deal with the inner workings of her mind and body!
So Inigo was recovering after his unfortunate battle, but making good progress. Although the Mental healing is taking longer. Looks like this might take him some time.
Morgan has a lot to deal with and Kabita's father (Alistair) keeps turning up, causing all kinds of mayhem. we find out more about Eddie who is definitely not want he seems.
The steampunk Rally cruise was a unique storyline, made more interesting because having cruised myself!
We followed Morgan in her search for Vampire, taking us around the globe.
Have enjoyed learning about the darkness, light, water, earth and ice as Morgan has been learning what each one does and how they are all complement each other. It also looks like we have plenty more to look forward to.
Not sure how I feel about this one. There was a lot of running around and there didn't seem like there was a reason for it. First there is Scotland, which made sense but then Morgan is in the Bahama's, then back to Scotland, Portland, Scotland again. I'm sure it was to promote Alister as a evil mastermind but it just got tiring. The ending was incredibly rushed and suddenly wrapped up. I do still enjoy the characters and learning about Morgan's powers but this book seemed more like filler before the final book.
This is a fun series - I don't love the books, but they're quick reads and they're worth it for the cheap ebook price. However, I think this was my least favorite in the series. It felt really rushed and like the author was trying to cram a lot into this book. I think it would have felt more cohesive without some of the Inigo stuff. But I've also never been particularly attached to Inigo, so that plotline might be important to any readers that really like him. I do think the next book should be interesting based on what happens at the end of this book.
Goood enough to continue to book six but very annoying relationship issues
I will read book 6 but some contents repeat too much. Morgan's relationships are not going anywhere but heartbreak. I would like to see more with her relationships with secondary characters instead of adding new ones. Easy read, good plot, made me wish Morgan happy in the end. I want too see some more of the people and not just the fighting.
I really really love this series!! One of the books in the series had a cliffhanger, which I HATE, but none of the others have. I'm so glad I didn't give up on this series and stayed with it. I've so enjoyed following Morgan as she learns each new power and new things show themselves. I can't wait to see where Shea takes her next! Definitely a great addition to this wonderful series.
This is a quick read full of action. I didn't like the ending although it leads you to the next book. Morgan deserves happiness and life keeps getting in the way. It'd hellos took read these books in order, but you don't have to do so. They are entertaining and full of fantasy.
Morgan gains in power but loses the one person she thought was for keeps. She's running all over to catch Alister while trying to prevent the vampires from spreading their virus. But, it's all a ruse. While she deals with awakening powers, she must find away to control them. Adventurous with great characters.
Discovering more secrets and solving even more mysteries! This series keeps you on your toes! And it all makes perfect sense. I'm getting worried though, I don't want it to end!!
I love this book but the thing that really bothered me was when she found out her friend was a Titan older than the Earth itself she didn't freak out more have a billion questions she just left it at that and then didnt touch the subject ever again.
