The first time round this wasn’t my favourite so I’m not sure why I skipped the previous two books to re-read this one.

This is a really great series but I have to say this was my least favourite of the three so far, initially I didn't warm to Lena the same as Erin and Benny although she did grow on me but I think it was mainly that this book had a 'mystery' in the story but it wasn't a mystery since it was apparent very early on who was behind it and I found myself saying "it's !!!!!!!" all the time which I must admit spoilt it for me.
Will I be buying the next book? Yes of course since the next one is the one I've been waiting for Nikolai.

Wow lot's of suspense and who-did-it mystery. Yuri was so sweet and sexy. Really enjoyed this couple. I want Nickolai now.

I just love these stories, they are getting better and better.

Lena è una donna in carriera, ma insoddisfatta del suo attuale lavoro.
Essere una PR per uno dei locali notturni più alla moda, richiedeva una scorza dura, per cui aveva imparato a gestire gli abusi verbali e le molestie sessuali che le venivano puntualmente rivolte. Se non erano i gestori dei locali, allora si trattava degli scommettitori con le loro mani lunghe.
Il quartiere malfamato dove Lena era cresciuta le aveva però insegnato diverse tecniche di sopravvivenza. Era una ragazza tosta, difficile da spaventare, e piena di iniziativa.
Ma un equivoco, un tradimento e un collega opportunista, sono davvero troppo da sopportare, così Lena decide di lasciare la sua occupazione, anche perché non riceve mai nessuna gratifica da parte del suo capo.
Il suo sogno è quello di mettersi in proprio e aprire una sua attività, ma teme di fallire in questa impresa. Intanto cova del risentimento verso Yuri, ritenendolo causa principale dei suoi problemi lavorativi.
Paradossalmente, sarà proprio lui a infonderle la spinta necessaria a fare il grande passo :
"Le persone dicono sempre di dare ascolto all’istinto, ma a volte basta semplicemente chiudere gli occhi e saltare, Lena".
Yuri ha una reputazione oscura, è un ricco uomo d'affari, al pari di Dimitri Ivan e Nikolai, i sexy protettori russi di questa serie, spietati e pericolosi, che amano e proteggono, anche a costo della loro vita, le donne che amano.
Non per la prima volta Lena prova la strana sensazione di conoscere per davvero Yuri. Non l'uomo che vedono tutti, ricco e potente, ma colui che ha saputo nascondere un passato di abbandono e ristrettezze, e che è riuscito a creare un impero.
L’orfanotrofio ha rappresentato per lui l’inferno sulla terra, ma Yuri è riuscito a sopravvivere e ne è uscito più forte.

Insieme vivranno momenti adrenalinici perché la loro vita viene minacciata. Tante azioni al cardiopalma, intrighi e tradimenti. E un segreto del passato che rischia di venire a galla.

This series keep on getting better and better. Theses Russian gods are HAWT! With each book we see the relationship that binds theses friends and making them brothers. Past secrets keep on revealing. Each time we see what happened in each of their past that effected them and made them who they are today.
I can't choose a favorite; because each book it's a new one, i love them all, they all have that sexy appeal on a woman. Those are the kind of guys that you simply don't walk away from, that you remember them for ever.
Amazing series. Have ALOT of potentials to be a great mystery thriller instead of a fast sexy read. But hay i'm not complaining.

Not my favourite!
I loved Yuri, the storyline was engaging and kept me interested.
But, I could not warm to the h Lena!
Maybe it was the constant updating twitter/fb thing! Annoying!
Maybe it was her constantly throwing up Yuri's past in his face. Annoying!
Maybe it was her demand he change. Annoying!
Maybe it was her admission she would continue to throw up something he did that upset her, something he apologised for, but whenever she got annoyed in the future she said she would probably throw it up in his face! Annoying!
The poor man has already had to apologise for having a life and other women before he ever met her! Seems he will spend his life apologising for not meeting her demands!
I just thought Yuri deserved better!

3.5 stars.
I enjoyed this one despite the lack of emotional tug. There was more humor and playfulness in this story. There was enough plot that I didn't feel that the sex overshadowed it.

Russian billionaire Yuri has wanted Lena since the moment he met her. When she storms in ready to raise holy hell, he quickly handles it and gets her to agree to a date. A rocky start leads to a boggled burglary that puts Lena at risk. Yuri knows she is the one, but Lena is not used to trusting anyone, let alone Yuri. Yuri decides to prove to Lena he is worth the trust knowing he will never let her go.
This was a super fun read, not sure why I did not discover it earlier. Yuri is dangerous but also head over heels for Lena. I liked that the story had some intense moments and then it would have a bit of humor that completely catches you off guard. Picking up the rest of the series.

I really enjoyed the story of Yuri and Lena. Yuri is a sexy strong alpha male who overcame a tragic past in Russia to become a successful billionaire businessman. Yelena or Lena is feisty, confident, independent PR rep who also overcame a tough childhood with her criminal father and missing mother. Yuri has wanted Lena for a while but it isn’t until she storms up to him in his nightclub to tell him off that he finally makes his move. And what a move it is. He sweeps her off her feet, seduces her and tears down the walls she has built around her heart. Throw in a botched robbery, a kidnapping, private plane rides and a yacht and you have a pretty damn good love story.
Like I said I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the chemistry between Yuri and Lena. I enjoyed the unfailing brotherhood between Yuri, Ivan, Dimitri and Nikolai. And most of all I enjoyed Sasha the behemoth dog. I am looking forward to Nikolai and Vivian’s book.

This is my favorite so far. Dimitri and Benny were good and enjoyable but this deserves 5 awesomesauce stars for Lena and Yuri. But the star of the book is Sasha the dog.
I'm always for the underdogs. Coming from nothing and achieving everything and then finding someone to share it with. Lena aka Dragon Lady (or in her case she says that she is testy) has had enough of her job for doing PR for nightclubs. As one of her funstions doesn't go as planned she then heads off from 716 to Faze to rip Yuri a new one.
Yuri and his brothers Ivan, Dimitri and Nikolai have had a tough deal in life and have been through thick and thin. In this case with the fencing and Yuri's past coming back to haunt him is no different. Yuri is a millionaire but realises that he wants the love a good woman.
Lena and Yuri's banter is great and they have great chemistry going on. Lena can stand up to Yuri and he is not used to hearing no. I guessed who the crazy one in the book was but I still loved it. I loved how we also got to see Kelly in this book.

Yuri and Lena were a lot of fun. Having already met in the previous books, you could tell it was only a matter of time before these two got together. These two each had really rough childhoods, so one thing I really enjoyed about this story was how much they related to one another. And with that understanding of the other, they were able to help one another and it made their chemistry even more tangible. I could feel their bond and the building of their love and trust. Add in the excitement of the criminal activities around them, and this was a great read. I'm definitely sticking with this series.

stop because how tf did i read this in one night, and more importantly: why??
it was entertaining enough i guess lol but ngl i kinda thought there would be more russian stuff in it. like cultural and language things.
i heard a lot of ppl talking abt russian mafia books idk why tf i expected actual accurate russian representation lol i’m kinda dumb like that
also yes i started with the third book in the series and i’m not gonna read any of the others, i picked this one because it was the only one in the series where the synopsis didn’t mention the man being a dom but NOPE he still is and all of the smut read almost word for word like the spanish love deception. (like fr the dialogue was the. exact. same. with the claiming language and the milking and the “i like when u lose control” ffs)
if anyone knows some good het romance books where the couple doesn’t have an extreme disparity in power, i’d love to hear of them. the ones with that dynamic that i’ve found so far have been queer.
ALSO what the fuck is it with straight romance books and the guy always being muscular and tall and the girl being oh so so tiny ??
like can we get more normal fukcing guys damn

This was by far the best in the series yet. I loved how spunky and strong Lena was. She didn't need to be rescued or saved by a hot Russian, and she made Yuri WORK for her attention and affection. Yuri was a fantastic alpha male and Lena didn't hesitate to call him out on his caveman ways. The chemistry between these two was really great and I thought they complimented each other very well. I loved how they both basically came from nothing and worked their way to success and were therefore able to really understand and identify with one another. And I must say, Sasha was a 5-star addition to this story!

More of a 3.5 ♥'s rounded up to 4 on here. I didn't like this one as much as I was expecting to with the build up that we had during Dimitri's book. Yuri - for being as smart and supposedly ruthless in business as he has been described to us - when it comes to getting the girl that is supposedly 'the one' - he was a total idiot and did some really stupid shit. Granted Lena did some stupid stuff too but she didn't have a love/leave 'em past. Anyway - they ended up being sweet together - I still want my very own Dimitri though.

There are fun elements to this series. Its very operatic with guns, sad childhoods, grand love, and sexy leads.
I enjoy it. There was a good amount of couple time and I liked this one better than the first in the series. I figured out the mystery pretty early on but that didn't really bother me. Sasha the dog is great. The billionaire thing bothers me a bit but I can see the pleasure in limitless funds and just sink into the bubble bath of a book.

Eccoci al terzo capitolo del recuperone (ormai completato) della serie Her Russian Protector, e Yuri mi è piaciuto moltissimo. Yuri Novakovsky è uno dei quattro moschettieri, amici fraterni e inseparabili conosciuti man mano che la serie va avanti; rispetto agli altri, è quello che si è sempre tenuto più fuori dai giri loschi, e infatti la sua fama è legata più che altro al suo essere un miliardario e playboy. Questo finchè non perde la testa per Lena Cruz, anche lei parte del gruppetto di donne che si trovano ad incrociare la strada con questi maschi alfa russi tutti d'un pezzo😆.
Dopo un inizio burrascoso con un classico hate-to-love nato da alcuni fraintendimenti, i due si avvicinano e iniziano a innamorarsi, ma la storia familiare di Lena è molto complessa e purtroppo legata all'attività criminale gestita da padre e cugino. Yuri si troverà quindi a mettere in gioco tutto per aiutarla e salvarla, con quel tipo di spirito che hanno in comune tutti gli eroi morally grey della Rivera, cavalieri e gentiluomini ma anche sensuali e un po' dominanti.
La storia è coinvolgente e veloce, con una certa nota suspense e il "solito" spicy che non è eccessivo, anzi, spesso anche particolarmente romantico.
Come tutti i libri della serie, la consiglio come lettura per chi vuole intrattenimento senza troppe pretese ma nemmeno banalità, perchè la trama c'è e si sente forte e chiara, e il nostro Yuri vi conquisterà.

Come tutti i libri della serie, la consiglio come lettura per chi vuole intrattenimento senza troppe pretese ma nemmeno banalità, perchè la trama c'è e si sente forte e chiara, e il nostro Yuri vi conquisterà.

Yuri è forse quello che mi ha sempre incuriosito di meno tra il gruppo di amici.
A me il magnate pieno di soldi, con le barche di extra lusso, non è che affascina più di tanto.
Ammetto che aspetto sempre che appaia Nikolai. Lui ruba la scena agli altri.
Verso la fine anche Yuri ha mostrato qualcosa di interessante, ma alla fine è sempre legato a Nikolai.
Lena è un personaggio molto interessante, è molto forte e ha avuto una grandissima forza di volontà per tirarsi fuori dall'ambiente nel quale è cresciuta. Io avrei lasciato che Sasha sbranasse Tommy ma vabbè.
Bello l'epilogo che lascia dettagli interessanti su Vasya, ma il libro a lui dedicato sarà solo l'undicesimo e non è stato ancora scritto!

This is a mystery “who is doing this” romance book. Yuri is a Russian billionaire who is head over heels obsessed with Lena. Lena is a poor woman with an unstable job but is also independent.
I did really enjoy this book however, it is fast paced and there is a slight incident at the very beginning that involves the miscommunication trope (lasted less than 10 pages but I was still blindsided.)

Sempre più entusiasta di questa serie.
Qui parliamo di Yuri il miliardario, quello che mette tutto su un piano monetario, per lui tutto si risolve col danaro. L unica cosa che non riesce a comprare e Lena , la Dragon Lady la PR più tosta che ci sia. Nonché amica delle compagne dei suoi più cari amici. Alla fine riesce a instaurare un rapporto anche perché, è in pericolo di vita e lui farà di tutto per proteggerla, che poi dopo alla fine non si sa chi protegga chi, tra i due. Un'altra storia avvincente

Lena Cruz è una giovane donna in carriera come PR nei più importanti locali di Houston. Figlia di un criminale che non ha mai saputo mantenere promesse e di una madre che l’ha abbandonata da bambina, non crede nell’amore e non si fida degli uomini. Qualcosa cambia con Yuri Novakovsky: anche lui ha un’infanzia difficile alle spalle, ma nonostante ciò è riuscito a costruirsi, partendo da zero, un impero fino a diventare miliardario. Insieme dovranno affrontare situazioni difficili e pericolose con il loro amore che ha la priorità su tutto.
In questo libro, ambientato principalmente a Houston e ai giorni nostri, incontriamo Lena e Yuri. Questi due personaggi, come al solito in questo genere di romanzi, ci vengono presentati come esseri perfetti. Ora non voglio iniziare una polemica, ma sono dell’idea che la perfezione non esista nel mondo reale e, a mio parere, in questo genere di libri gli autori non dovrebbero avere la pretesa di propinarci ogni volta questo cliché. Se vi dico ciò è perché ho notato che è estremamente frequente questo particolare, che io personalmente potrei accettare di più nel genere fantasy, piuttosto che in questo, proprio perché dovrebbe rappresentare qualcosa di più fattibile e realistico. Quindi come potete immaginare questo appunto che sto facendo è tra le cose che mi hanno infastidito del libro, oltre ad aver avuto la sensazione che i protagonisti non fossero incisivi e stessa cosa per le emozioni. E chi segue le mie recensioni è già a conoscenza che io devo viverlo un libro, devo sentirmi parte di esso e quando non mi suscita emozioni lasciandomi solo il vuoto, non riesco ad apprezzarlo completamente.
Le scene erotiche sono un po’ approssimative e non lasciano il segno, non mi hanno trasmesso passione e neanche tutto l’amore che l’autrice cerca di trasmetterci.
Ho inoltre trovato che la storia sia una di quelle trita e ritrita, ma nonostante tutte queste note negative che vi sto illustrando penso comunque che sia un buon libro da leggere magari quando si cerca un po’ di relax, ad esempio in vacanza.
La scrittura è scorrevole e leggera, peccato per i troppi refusi che ho riscontrato, che fanno inciampare la lettura veloce come una passeggiata tranquilla piena di ostacoli togliendole la fluidità.
Concludo ribadendo che ne consiglio la lettura se siete in cerca di qualcosa di poco impegnativo.

I’m really enjoying my reread of these stories in the ‘Her Russian protector’ series. In this story we get to see how Yuri Novakovsky and Yelena Cruz (or Lena like everyone calls her) get together. In the two previous stories you could already feel that there was a big attraction between hem but Lena was ignoring it. But you can’t ignore that kind of chemistry for long, so one night after a big discussion at her work, Lena goes upset to Yuri. One thing leads to another and that night something happens that make Lena give in and that’s the start of their relationship. But it will not be easy, Yuri is a busy billionaire businessman, who’s used to treat everything like a business deal. He doesn’t have any experience with relationships and he makes personal mistakes that hurt Lena. If he wants to keep Lena, he will have to learn quickly how to be a good boyfriend. The fact that Lena has trust issues makes it even harder. Lena for her part will have to trust that Yuri cares deeply for her and will keep his promises and won’t leave her like everyone else. Meanwhile, danger is also surrounding them, it started small but soon things are spiralling out of control. Can Yuri keep Lena safe and free her father from the hands of a dangerous cartel? One thing is sure, Yuri will need all the help he can get.
Yuri and Lena were perfect for each other. Both had a difficult childhood, they grew up in bad neighbourhoods, Yuri in Russian and Lena in Houston, America. So that was something they shared, just like their determination to get out of there by working hard, being stubborn and making smart decisions. Both were intelligent and used their talents in a good way. Yuri as a businessman and Lena as a PR specialist. I loved it that both were honest with each other, Yuri made some mistakes but it was never his intention to hurt Lena and he was always very sorry afterwards. I appreciated it that Lena made it clear that she was upset and hurt but she didn’t make him suffer too long for it. They acted like adults and talked about it. Just like any other rich guy Yuri loved nothing more than to spoil Lena with gifts and little surprises.
Although Lena acted confidently, deep down she was insecure. She couldn’t really understand why a rich, charming playboy like Yuri would fall for someone like her. But she talked about her insecurities and doubts with Yuri. That was another thing that I liked that in this story. A new character in this book was Yuri’s dog Sacha, he was something special and like Yuri, he was very protective of Lena. His behaviour had me smiling a few times.
In this story we learned more about Yuri and Nikolai’s past, about their time in the orphanage in Russian. Other characters that we got to know a little better were Ty Weston and Yuri’s bodyguards Derick, Jake, Vasya and Kelly (who’s also a bouncer for the nightclub Faze).
Again you got both POV’s in the story. There were a few steamy sex scenes in it, nothing as kinky as in Dimitri’s book but the scenes were still very hot. With each book, the stories get longer and longer, more pages to read and to enjoy, that makes me very happy. Although there is fighting and shooting in the story, it’s not a very dark story, perfect for readers who wants to read a mafia series for the first time. I do recommend that you start with the first book.
I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Questa serie mantiene il livello alto, regalandoci ogni volta una storia diversa, con elementi in comune e personaggi fantastici che collegano le varie storie e lasciano sempre in attesa per avere di più *ç* Avevamo già avvertito la tensione tra Yuri, playboy russo, e la PR Lena ma un malinteso aveva ostacolato la nascita di una relazione tra i due, lasciando Lena offesa e Yuri confuso. Qui i due hanno l'occasione di chiarire i malintesi e di cominciare finalmente ad esplorare l'attrazione reciproca, un'attrazione nata da un passato comune: entrambi infatti vengono da un contesto di povertà e crimine, da cui si sono tirati fuori con le loro sole forze, ottenendo il successo nelle rispettive carriere e trovando amici fedeli. Ovviamente il passato non resterà dietro la porta, e tra i problemi di fiducia della ragazza e la sua famiglia disfunzionale i guai sono assicurati. Ora non vedo l'ora di leggere la storia di Nikolai, onestamente la aspetto con impazienza dalla sua prima apparizione! *ç*

Third book in the Russian Protector series. This story is about Yuri Novakovsky and Lena Cruz. Yuri has been attracted to Lena for months but hasn't made a move to ask her out, there have been a few problems between him and Lena, she blames him for a couple of things that have impacted on her job as a PR representative.
But when the opportunity arises Yuri swoops into make Lena his. She's not a woman who is impressed by his billionaire status, if anything with Lena that's working against him. But he senses she's as attracted to him as he is her. But as problems crop up with her family, and his past dealings, and their lives come under threat.
I'm loving this series each book has a hot sexy Russian, Yuri is a billionaire, like his friends who feature in the other books, his early life was not easy, he has worked hard to get where is is. He has had plenty of women come and go but none had got under his skin like Lena. I liked Yuri he's not just hot and sexy but he's a loyal and passionate man. Lena is strong and feisty she was a delight. Together they were a great pairing. Added to the romance was plenty of drama and action. A recommended read.
