From page one I could not stop reading this book. It had me sucked in. It started with Justin’s POV. Yeah, he was a little cocky. Who am I kidding a whole lot of cocky, but I loved it!! He knows he can get any woman, at any time.
Justin is at a bar that he frequents when one night he notices Charity. He can’t help himself from watching her. He wants to keep his distance since he does not want to be in any relationship, but it is harder than he thought.
As Justin is watching Charity, he notices a man in a hoodie come from behind and try to kidnap her. Justin runs and saves her from the kidnapper.
Charity just moved to New York to start a new life. She wanted a change. When she is attacked and saved by Justin she can’t help but be attracted to him. Everyone tells her she must keep her distance from him since he is a guy that does not want a girl for more than one night. However, all of Justin’s charms are hard to resist especially after he helps her with her new move to the city.
This book has some great mystery. The reader has to figure out who is trying to hurt Charity as well as who is Charity’s boss. I loved it.
I loved the way Charity and Justin met. That bar scene and how it all came together were my favorite scenes to read.
I did not care for Lena, Charity’s friend. I know Lena was always trying to be nice and helpful, but I think if we got her POV, she would be purple with jealously about Justin and Charity’s relationship and I also thought she was a big mouth. I hate friends like that.
Some of the steamy scenes in the book felt mechanical as if the characters were just going through the motions. Even though I enjoyed the book, I just needed a little bit more. Somewhere in the middle, the communication with Charity’s boss, I felt uncomfortable with.
The plot of the story and trying to figure out the mystery kept me wanting to read. Read it in one day. I had to know how it was going to end.

Review of Charity’s Warrior by Maya James

Maya James, I fucking love you. No, really I. Love. You. If you like smut books and you don’t one-click Charity’s Warrior, you are doing yourself a serious disservice. I give this book 5 stars all the way around- accompanied by 5 drenched panties for the smut factor and a ripped bra too. It’s just that fuckin’ hot. Seriously. Epic. Hotness.
I was hooked from the first page of this book. There wasn’t a lull for me at any single point. If Maya wasn’t giving you something to question and a mystery to muddle through she was making your girl parts tingle. I will admit, I had part of the ‘mystery’ figured out fairly early on… but when it got to the big reveal it was a “I FREAKING KNEW IT!” and a fist pump kind of feeling not a “that was predictable bleh” feeling. In other words, you will figure a part of it out early on, or most of you will, but it won’t take a thing away from the story for you.
I need to talk about the ladies in this book… I’m going to start with Trisha. First off, for being a secondary character, she stole my heart. She is the kind of chic you would want to have for a BFF. Then there is Lena, I love her strength and loyalty to her friends. It is rare to find someone who will put aside their own happiness for a friends. Charity… obviously the lead chic in the book and probably one of my favorite female leads of all time. She is brave, smart, loveable, beautiful, down-to-Earth (even though she likes her fashion), and she is not a whiny bitch. (This is a huge thing for me with female leads… so many Ana Steele wannabes!!) Basically, what I am saying is that this book is full of strong females… FINALLY!
Warning, the men of this book could cause spontaneous combustion! (Except for Steve, he is a bit of a douche canoe.) Justin, man whore extraordinaire, your night with him is going to be the best night you’ve ever had. Your girl parts will be jumping for joy and singing an Ode to Justin’s Cock, but don’t expect anything more from him. You will feel special. Like a princess who is cherished and revered- don’t love him. Impossible. If more men were like Justin then we would all be happy whores. JP… where to start with this mystery man. He sneaks under Charities radar and makes her feel and do things she didn’t think she would ever do. Hard to believe she has never heard his voice or seen his face.
While this book has a lot of smut in it, the storyline is solid. A must read through and through. I want to tell SO much more, but I’m going to cut myself off before I reveal too much and start spoiling all over the place. Read it. READ. IT. NOW.
(I will note that there are some editing issues, but even with my internal OCD editor Nazi it didn’t distract me from enjoying every second of this book! This is a huge compliment that any of you who know me will completely understand… my original review didn’t include this, but it needed saying. Yes, there is room for improvement. No, it doesn’t take away a thing!)

Just did not like this one. Why the hell would the h decide to be friends with a waitress that has slept with the H? The waitress even RECOMMENDS that the H was a great lay and the h should definitely go for it. And the h is really happy with the waitress once she says that and wants to be buddy-buddy with her. GIVE ME A BREAK!! Plus, the h has only been with 2 guys prior to meeting the H but when she sleeps with the H, she has more tricks than a prostitute. The thing that infuriated me the most was the h's coworkers at her job. It is a bunch of women of various ages who enjoy gossiping, shopping, and talking about how they want to bang the hot boss. Women are not that crude or sex-obsessed. There is so much more to women then these awful stereotypes.

Holy drenched panties batman!!! This woman can write some super HAWT sex scenes. I'm not real into the bdsm scene but the ones that aren't all that involved with that were amazing. There is more to the story than that but I just wanted to point that out.. lol On to my review...
Charity was such a cool character between her strength and courage. She is hell bent on making it in the city with no help from home although she didn't seen any light at the end of the tunnel. I really loved Charity because through all that happened she is still standing and pushing forward.
Justin Collins is such a super sexy hero in this book. He becomes Charity's hero after saving her from her attacker and helping her pull her life together. Justin is just an awesome character and I could not stop lusting after him through this whole book. He's good in bed, sexy, and takes care of everyone he holds close to him no matter what.
Maya did a great job making this story pull you in and holding you there. Although there is an over abundance of sex scenes in this book it worked for me.. lol I am granting this book five shiny red stars :)

Wow. I was sucked in immediately, but after awhile, I was getting irritated because it was pretty much predictable of what was going to happen. Boy sees girl. Wants girl. Boy too f8cked up to pursue girl. Boy rescues girl...finds her a job and a place to live. Meets another man while chatting. Same initials...yada yada yada.
So I know why a few might not have finished the book. But the story line was ultimately really good and the sex scenes. Hot! HOT! H-O-T HOT! Where can I buy these toys!?! I wanna play!
And the way it ends? What's up with the mom? Who's chasing Charity!? OMFG. I am not sure I'm ready for book 2...but I know one thing. I need it! =)

Wow, I just couldn't put this down. I absolutely loved this one. Charity and Justin sitting in a tree, Kissing!!!! I just think that with them. HA!
Charity has left everything behind to start over in NY to live her dreams. Leaves her family, friends and ex boyfriend Steve. I'm glad she did it, most people wouldn't have the courage to do that. She is a very sweet girl that just wants to live her life and experience everything it has to offer. She is a the bar one night after looking tirelessly for a job when she is attacked and almost kidnapped. Justin Collins saves the day. They are not able to catch the creep but he saves her and that is all that matters. He is an enigma to me. Sexy enigma though~! He wants nothing to do with love (all good reasons for him) yet he cannot stay away from her. He helps her land a job an apartments, hell great sex too. Want is not great about him. Ah, yes, secrets. I knew there were some, some easy to tell but some where I was just shocked. I just couldn't even believe it. It made me want to go back and re-read it to see if I could catch on to it. But I really don't think there was anything there to see because you are worried about all his other secrets. Charity wants him no matter how she can get him that she is willing just to be his f***buddy. I honestly do not blame her, when you read them together you just cannot help but want them together. You just want Justin to pull his head out of his butt and just admit that he loves but like a guy you have to give them time to realize things. To complicate matters, Charity loves her job but has had communication with HEAD BOSS JP through instant messaging. Started out innocently but became more for the both of them. What do you do. Do you stay with Justin who cannot commit, or do you take a chance on JP, whom she hasn't met but he is willing to be everything for her? You will have to read :)
I honestly do not know what I would do but damn what a ride it would be!
The secondary characters make this book too. Lena, Trish, John, her co-workers. They are awesome. To have such a great group of friends will to help each other out, you couldn't ask for more.

I absolutley loved this book and can't wait for Charity's Secrets. For me this book had it all, it was erotic (yes there was lots and lots of sexy stuff that's what erotic means!) but it also had a brilliant suspenseful story line. Justin and Charity had an animal magnatism. Coming from a boring run of the mill relationship who can blame a girl for falling for Justin, and why we are on the subject of Justin *sigh* he fights his feelings for Charity for deep seated emotional reasons that to me felt valid. Charity was looking for a change in her life and hell did she get one! I love the way the actual suspense story unfolds and develops an although there is another book (or maybe two I don't know)the end didn't make me feel like hitting the nearest bar to drown my sorrows because of how could the author do this to me!, I felt more like, oh - what does that mean now? That doesn't mean I'm not dying to get my hands on the next book, I am. But I felt content with how it ends rather than ansty. Any how this is just my opinion, I highly recommend you read it to make yours.

This story is based one 1 person POV and a small cliffhanger of course what happens in the story towards the end leaves you wondering about a few things which I''m hoping that the next story clears up for me. I feel that this story should get 4 stars as there was a lot of spots that had way to much details or not enough. I was up in the air on most parts wondering why this or that was happening ( I don't want to spoil the story for you so I wont mention which parts those are). Over-all the story was really good. Hell the characters are amazing and down right dirty Hott. The story line is awesome and the author did a wonderful job with the writing and getting the story across.

3.75 stars. Let me start by saying this book does have a cliff-hanger and a small pre-view for book number 2. Other than that, this book has romance, severe hotness, mystery, espionage, and strong characters; both male and female. If you're paying attention, there are a couple of twists that aren't that big of a surprise but then other things you don't see coming. I give the story itself 4 definite stars but downgraded it to a 3.75 due to a few misspells and typos that will hopefully get fixed at some point. It's not enough to really detract from the story though. I'll look forward to book 2 in this series. Book 1 is a pretty good entry into the world of writing!!!

I was enthralled from the first page of this book, fast paced and an absolute page turner! The book makes you question things and there is some mystery, but all while making you hot and bothered. The women in this book are epic female leads!! Charity is beautiful inside and out, smart and loving, down-to-Earth with an eye for fashion, and is no way wimpy or whiny . Her friends add to the richness of the book and makes me wish for friends like them! The men, oh the men in this book are smoldering sexiness, Justin and JP are definitely panty melters! Sexy and Consuming, this book is sooo hot!! A must read for all erotica lovers!

And who is the crazy stalker? I thought I had it pegged a couple of times... but got it wrong.
A well crafted story focusing on relationships and the lies we tangle ourselves in.

When I first picked up Charity’s Warrior by Maya James, I was instantly excited. I love a good male point of view and it seemed that Justin Collins would be giving me just that. Justin was cocky and self-assured, he doesn’t pull any punches and when it comes to women he’s looking no farther than one night at a time.
“Face it, when you see a guy like me, your first thought isn’t, ‘Oh, I hope he’s wonderful outside of the bedroom.’ Usually it’s something closer to me slamming your back against a wall while one hand grips your hair and pushes your face harder against my hot mouth, while the other rips the wet panties off your hips.”
So much for Charity, I think I just fell in love with Justin myself. And then, if it can get any better, he rescues her from an attack! Now I’m really on board.
Then the point of view changed. I was definitely a little disappointed, but Charity Powers is a strong, intelligent woman looking for a change and she pulled me in. The problem? By about 20% Charity and Justin have gotten hot and heavy a few times and Charity has been introduced to JP, the CEO of the company where she works who also apparently enjoys a little, or a lot, of sexting. Don’t get me wrong I do love a good sex scene or 2 or 3 or 4…and they were hot, BUT from this point on there is almost more sex than story. Between Justin and JP I was surprised Charity had time to eat and sleep let alone work.
Beyond all the sex the story seemed to get more and more over-the-top. First there was a certain violation that JP commits that Charity is initially rightfully upset about but within minutes she lets him off the hook and even encourages things mostly because he compliments her and tells her he couldn’t help himself, is “JUST a man.” Seriously? Have some self-respect. I understand forgiveness and I understand some of the feelings that she had that led to the encouragement of the situation after, but I feel like a strong confident woman shouldn’t have been won over so easily with some pretty words and flattery, and the just a man excuse is just lame. I was really intrigued with JP when he was first introduced and couldn’t wait to see if my theory behind this mystery man’s identity was confirmed, but after finding out what he was doing, I definitely lost some interest and was actually bit creeped out. I do have to say that I did like JP’s secret identity and thought it was a great twist in the plot; I just would have enjoyed JP and Charity’s interactions more if everything that transpired between the two was agreed upon mutually from the start. Then there is the big reveal at the end that tells us exactly what Justin really does and is a part. Whoa, can we say out of nowhere? I was definitely not expecting him to be a part of what he was, but that is mostly because I thought it was so unrealistic and pretty excessive.
I also think there was just too much going on in this book, especially since there is a sequel. It seems like there are about four distinct storylines within this book. First there is Justin and his issues with love, then the mystery of JP, next Charity found out the identity of her attacker, and then the truth about Justin is exposed. My head was just spinning. I’m usually not a proponent of chopping up a book into sequels if the story can be told within one book, but I felt that there was definitely too much for a reader to handle at one time.
Overall the further I got into the book, the more I found myself having to power through. I would give Charity’s Warrior 2.5 Stars for a nice love story, endearing protagonists, and expressive writing. If you are looking for a solid romance, with tons of sex and outrageous plot twists, this is unquestionably the book for you.
“Face it, when you see a guy like me, your first thought isn’t, ‘Oh, I hope he’s wonderful outside of the bedroom.’ Usually it’s something closer to me slamming your back against a wall while one hand grips your hair and pushes your face harder against my hot mouth, while the other rips the wet panties off your hips.”
So much for Charity, I think I just fell in love with Justin myself. And then, if it can get any better, he rescues her from an attack! Now I’m really on board.
Then the point of view changed. I was definitely a little disappointed, but Charity Powers is a strong, intelligent woman looking for a change and she pulled me in. The problem? By about 20% Charity and Justin have gotten hot and heavy a few times and Charity has been introduced to JP, the CEO of the company where she works who also apparently enjoys a little, or a lot, of sexting. Don’t get me wrong I do love a good sex scene or 2 or 3 or 4…and they were hot, BUT from this point on there is almost more sex than story. Between Justin and JP I was surprised Charity had time to eat and sleep let alone work.
Beyond all the sex the story seemed to get more and more over-the-top. First there was a certain violation that JP commits that Charity is initially rightfully upset about but within minutes she lets him off the hook and even encourages things mostly because he compliments her and tells her he couldn’t help himself, is “JUST a man.” Seriously? Have some self-respect. I understand forgiveness and I understand some of the feelings that she had that led to the encouragement of the situation after, but I feel like a strong confident woman shouldn’t have been won over so easily with some pretty words and flattery, and the just a man excuse is just lame. It's going to be hard to write this review as I don't want to give anything away. But this was a hot, sexy, suspenseful and drama filled read.
I really liked the main characters. Charity was a feisty, determined young women who knew what she wanted and Justin was exactly what I want in a book boyfriend. He was sexy, dominant, dangerous and smart. Literally my perfect man.
The plot itself was great. The sex scenes were hot and they were plenty. My only problem was there was quite a bit of repetitiveness with the words used and I also didn't like the dialogue between the characters sometimes.The suspense part of the book was brilliant. I kept changing my mind at who I thought the hooded man was and the conclusion to that part was as dramatic as I expected and wanted it to be.
The ending has me so intrigued. I have no idea what the name mentioned at the end means and what part it's going to play in the story and the very last scene has me desperate for the next book.

I am one of the lucky reviewers that gets to read this series consecutively as the third book is about to be released. I say this because having just finish this book Charity's Warrior I know that if I had to wait for book two I would be wondering for weeks or months what is going to happen next.
Maya James mixes a good amount of action and suspense in with some really hot erotic love scenes to create a book that you just have to keep turning the pages to find out what is next. I am looking forward to reading the second book now and happy that I don't have to wait around...
Charity is in the city about to run out of luck in her search for a new job and a new chance at recreating herself after a broken engagement when she is attacked from behind in an attempted kidnapping.
Justin is instantly attracted to Charity when he sees her across the room of the bar where she is having dinner Justin sees the attack and comes to her rescue in so many ways...
The relationship between these two is hot & steamy and at the same time frustrating and sketchy, but you will have to read it for yourself... I don't think you will be disappointed.

It's full of twists and turns, some of which I guessed, and some of which I didn't. I won't spoil the book but one of the twists turns it into something reminiscent of a lot of other books out there at the moment. It's overloaded with sex, there's just enough story in between to keep you going, but it honestly doesn't need as much sex as it offers. The story is good enough on it's own. I wasn't keen on the ending, particularly as it looks like book two isn't out yet, but I will be buying book two as soon as I can find it!

This book is so waaayyy out there it left me breathless. I was concerned in the beginning because it was very slow. However once it got moving I couldn't put it down.
Charity is a small time girl making it in the big city. She needs everything including a protector. That is where Justin comes in he is everything she needs and more.
Overall Justin and charity are good and the story is strong. There were a few things but not enough to keep me away. Thank you very much!

Even though there were a couple of huge question marks in this story AND the fact that it ends on a dreaded CLIFFHANGER(!!!), I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I embarrassed the question marks and ran with it.
Last note: this is possibly the worst example of an UN-SPELLCHECKED book I have ever come across! (Maya James what were you doing?)

Decent story, predictable. Tons of spelling mistakes-glad it weren expensive on amazon! Ending was decent enough to make me try to find out if she wrote a follow on.

It wasn't the subject matter that turned me off - it was the absolute horrible editing and grammar (or lack thereof) that made this book nearly impossible to finish.
