Desperate to distance herself from her previous life, and her high-powered ex, Jo Montgomery moves to a tiny slice of Georgia, an impetuous decision if there ever was one. Though not nearly as impetuous as throwing herself into an intimate relationship with her new neighbor. Hawk Stephens, a horse breeder and local celebrity, is sex personified, a man built for dark deeds in dark places. But he wants far more from Jo.

Every instinct tells Silent Hawk that Jo is The One, and despite her obvious uncertainty, his Apache beliefs give him faith. The signs are unmistakable. His skittish little filly requires a strong hand, patience…and blazing, mind-bending sex that leaves no doubt to his feelings and intentions.

But before their love affair has barely begun, the reemergence of Jo’s ex, coupled with a potentially tragic event, forces Jo to make decisions that not only damage Hawk’s beliefs, but could also shatter their tender romance beyond repair.

Beefcake cowboy on cover and inside - check.
Hot, erotic read - check.
Seemingly weak, yet surprisingly strong heroine - check.
Apache mysticism and traditions - check.

All the good stuff seemed to be in this book. And still, it didn't reach even three stars for me. Why, you ask? Allow me to tell you. Spoilers ahead.

I didn't believe the instant attraction. Not from him, especially not based on how very strong he's coming on to her, nor from her, considering what she just left behind. He's in her face from the word go, always trying to seduce her, kisses her when she's giving him all kinds of indication that she's not sure about his advances, and he believes he's justified because she's THE ONE. Because there's a doe eating his flowers, and she saw a buck in her front yard. Oh, okay. Sure. Would-be molester excused.

Jo's initial characterization reads like something out of a bad romance novel. She's just divorced her Senator husband for cheating, bought a rundown house in Georgia based on an internet ad (seriously? who does that?) and is basically portrayed as running away. She can't seem to say no to Hawk, can't seem to stop his invasions of her personal space and can't seem to stop herself from having all this lust for him. Because, clearly, a woman's libido is supposed to be all dried up after a loveless marriage. Right.

And then the author introduces the age old romance trope of a surprise pregnancy. Oh, sure, they used condoms, except for that one time when he slipped it in first for a moment before putting on the condom. That got her pregnant. Fertile Myrtle, she is.

The drama in this story, from both hero and heroine, is over the top and rather unbelievable. Most of it could have been avoided with one serious, honest conversation.

I did like the inclusion of Apache traditions and the mysticism about seeing signs when your true love is near. Still, believing in those things doesn't give you the right to invade someone else's personal space and more or less forcing them to succumb to your seduction. Yes, I'm looking at you, Hawk.

The only people I liked in this book was Hawk's father and mother. Jo's cheating husband and her father, both pressuring her to return for their own gain, were both despicable human beings, who put their political success ahead of Jo's well-being and happiness.

I suppose this is the kind of book you could take to the beach and read in a couple of hours, and then promptly strike from memory. It was over the top, full of tropes and rather forgettable.

***This book was provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.***

I had really high hopes for this book, especially with the cover that is off the freaking charts hot.

I was disappointed. While I really liked the beginning of this book and Hawk, I never quite connected with Jo. I liked the idea of Hawk knowing she was for him from the very beginning and being so open to the possibility of forever.

I don't say this often, but I don't feel the heroine of this book was worthy of the hero.

I have to say that I do like this writer's style. The words flowed nicely and the descriptions were decent; the plot just didn't work for me.

Recently divorced from her high powered husband Jo Montgomery has decided it's time to move away and start a new life for herself in her new fix it up farm house, and she just happens to have the famous sexy horse breeder Hawk Stephens living next door.

This had a really good story line dealing with the dramas of family when starting a new relationship and putting others before yourself when needed.

I will be looking out for other books by this author.

Recently divorced from her cheating husband, a high profile senator from Arizona, Jo Montgomery relocates to a small town in Georgia. She buys a rundown farmhouse to fix up, gets a job at the local diner, and begins the process of starting her life over.

Her next door neighbor happens to be Hawk Stephens, a local celebrity of sorts. He’s a horse breeder with a gift for training wild horses. Tall, dark and incredibly handsome, he is instantly attracted to Jo.

Jo, however, is not so sure. She came to Georgia looking to start over, not looking for love. Can Hawk convince her that they were meant to be together?

I loved this book! I’ll admit I’m a sucker for a hot guy in a cowboy hat. And Hawk is definitely swoonworthy… dark skin, long black hair, blue eyes, built like Adonis, definitely knows his way around the bedroom… “a man built for dark deeds in dark places.” (sigh)

This was a perfect weekend read! Not too short, but not too long. Just the right length for well developed characters, a great storyline, and a perfect happily ever after.

Wow! At first, you think this is just a lust heavy hot erotica. But no my friend, this is a hot and heavy love story with more twists than a Whisteria tree!

First you feel hot lust towards a sexy Apache neighbor named Hawk... Hawk, awesome name...

(No picture could do this man justice...)

Then you feel his strength. He has a strong heart, too.

His faith that she is meant for him...

Best part in the book!

The end, well... I can't say anything more. There is a twist every page. The end will keep you on your toes!!! But... You go girl!!!!

I received this review from Smith Publicity- Ellora's Cave Publishing Inc,via Netgalley for my honest review.

The cover and the blurb of this book really did a great job of drawing my attention to what was a highly enjoyable book.
Thunderstruck is a quick romance, but a good one.
Jo is running away from an ex husband and a family with problems that could make her private life very, very public.
Hawke is a man who is impatiently waiting for "the one". He is also a man who believes in the signs of mother nature, so when he meets Jo, his new neighbour, he not only has an immediate attraction to her, he knows that she is what he has been waiting for. He is full of a protective instinct and understanding for Jo.
Jo's skittish nature slow down their attraction and inevitable connection, but not in a bad way. I liked her character. I also really liked Hawke, but his character was maybe a bit too forward at times.
This was a great quick romance story, steamy enough, but not overboard. Very enjoyable, I will look out for others from Kendall Grace.

Title: Thunderstruck

Series: N/A

Author: Kendall Grace

Genre: Erotica, Romance

Blurb: Desperate to distance herself from her previous life, and her high-powered ex, Jo Montgomery moves to a tiny slice of Georgia, an impetuous decision if there ever was one.

Thoughts: The signs are all pointing to the fact that Hawk is going to meet his mate, but he wasn't expecting a sexy female who's more skittish than the horses he works with! He has to rely on his patience to woo her into his arms, and his determination in order to win her heart. After leaving her marriage of twelve years, Jo knew she would meet someone else eventually. She just wasn't expecting to meet someone who hit all the right buttons - especially not so soon! Or someone as sexy and persistent as Hawk!

The sparks flying between Hawk and Jo were electric, and the story was quick to spark your interest. Hawk is everything you could ask for out of a main male lead - sexy, tempting, confident, thoughtful, and determined to win his woman! He totally made the story for me! But Jo was a wonderful heroine, as well. Scared of what she feels for Hawk, and scared that she is simply not "enough" to keep a man satisfied, she is afraid of getting involved - especially with someone as sexy as Hawk. She's vulnerable, yet heart wrenchingly strong, all at the same time. You couldn't ask for two better characters! Add to that "Pops", Hawk's father, who is just a sweetheart and you have a heck of a story!

I couldn't put this book down. The characters drew you in at the beginning, but the storyline seemed your usual romance genre - at first. By the end, the storyline captivates you as well - and you're almost in tears as everything unfolds. A wonderful story, with wonderful characters - with sparks flying between two halves of a perfect whole. Excellent book.

After discovering the scandalous affair her senator husband has been involved in, Jo escapes her busy life in Tuscon, AZ and moves to the quaint southern town of Vidalia, Georgia. A former real estate agent, Jo takes a leap and purchases a genuine fixer upper that turns out to be more than she bargained for.
While taking inventory of all of the work that needs to be done on her "investment", Jo meets her sexy Native American neighbor, Hawk and his charming father Ray. Jo is instantly attracted to Hawk with his gorgeous body and long black silky hair and she can't deny that she feels something more than attraction just within minutes of meeting him.
Hawk is part Apache India , a heritage and practice that his mother,Raven, had instilled in him since a young age. Upon meeting Jo, all of the signs start to add up and they all point to her and what he knew all along; this woman was meant to be his.
Jo and Hawk embark on a love affair quickly and quickly encounter drama with the threat of Jo's ex-husband being persistent about winning her back. Hawk is a horse breeder and has plans to leave soon to breed his horse in order to fund a charity in honor of his deceased sister, Rayne. Hawk wants Jo to come with him and be his forever, but Jo is reserved, anxious about getting involved so quickly, so deeply, when she's only recently divorced.
This was a good read. The story is not long by any means, but it take me more than a week to read it. There were good parts and there were some not so good parts.
The author did a fantastic job of incorporating Hawk's Apache heritage into the story. His character really drove the story for me, along with his lovable dad, Ray.
Jo really just.....irritated me. She's very wishy washy and does one thing but means another or says one thing, but does another. In the end, I came around to sort of liking her and respecting her character for what she did to get her HEA with her man.
The sex scenes are there and for the most part, steamy. Although not an erotic novel, there certainly are some hot moments.
Overall, the book was enjoyable, and I'd read another one by this author. 3 stars.

Thunderstruck is a touching story about second chances, finding love and believing in yourself. It’s touching, wonderful and heart wrenching.

Jo has moved halfway across the country to start over. She’s divorced from a high profile Arizona Senator and wants to start over where no one knows her. She moves to Georgia, buys a “fixer upper”, and falls in love.

Hawk Stephens is a horse-whisperer. He’s working hard to get a therapeutic ranch up and running in Arizona. He’s attracted to Jo and vows to win her over. He’s certain she’s meant to be with him. His Apache roots and beliefs have shown him what he knows to be true. He only has to convince Jo.

Hawk was the perfect man. He was relentless in his pursuit. This doesn’t mean he stayed in her face and demanded things. He gave her space when she needed it. He listened to her and paid attention to the signals she was giving off. It was nice to have an alpha male (and believe me, he's an alpha!) that wasn't beat on the chest, me man - you woman. Don't get me wrong, I like those, but it's also nice to have a different kind of alpha male. Change of pace and scenery.

Jo was pretty amazing. She’s been knocked down but she didn’t let that stop her. She was cautious but she still believed enough in herself to trust her instincts. It served her well.

Jo made some hard decisions that could have very easily cost her dearly. She was willing to risk it all in order to give the man she loved, everything he was working for, everything he dreamed of. That takes an inner strength that not all people have.

Kendall Grace managed to create characters you care for, cheer for and hope their struggles are all worth it.

SENSUOUS LOVE STORY

Jo Montgomery recently divorced, has moved to Georgia from Arizona, to escape her ex-husbands influence and presence. She's bought a rundown farmhouse. For the past twelve years she's been nothing more than a prop to her husbands ambitions.

One of the first people to cross her path is her neighbour Silent Hawk, who lives with his father Ray on their horse breeding ranch. Even from their first meeting Jo is running scared from the bone melting attraction that flairs between them. This is just too soon for her. But Hawk is a man to not be denied what he wants. His apache upbringing, and beliefs tell him that Jo is the one.

But Jo's ex-husband has not given up, he has enlisted her fathers help to win her back. But even though the ink on the divorce papers is only six months old Jo now realises she's worth more than what her ex can offer. But her and Hawks relationship is not trouble free either, and when a near tragedy strikes. Jo makes a decision that could end it forever.

First read for me by this author. I was really surprised how the story grabbed me, the writing definitely draws the reader in. Jo is a complex character, I'm not sure I always agreed with her reasoning, but she was easy to relate to. Hawk was a man who knew what he wanted and nothing stood in his way once he set his sights on something or someone and that someone was Jo. I also really liked Hawk's father Ray.

I liked this story a lot, it's romantic, the love scenes are sensual and passionate. A recommended read

Quite frankly, I was torn with this one. The tag line of “Romantica” was very true for this story. The steam was moderate, but the story was driven more on the romance, or lack thereof…

Silent Hawk is a man changing his ways. His Apache mother wants more for him and herself. She divorced his dad due to his drinking and when she moved on, she did so leaving Silent Hawk with his father. Hawk sowed his wild oats, but when his half-sister died, he devoted his life to her memory. Now Hawk and his mother are breeding fantastic horses and planning to open a therapeutic ranch for terminally ill children. Unfortunately, Hawk and Jo have just met and their fledgling relationship would never stand up to Jo returning with Hawk to the therapy ranch…only a few minutes away from everyone and everything that made her run.

Jo was not my kind of gal. She was too scared of her parents, too afraid of her own shadow and too insecure in her own self-worth. There were several TSTL (too stupid to live) moments that had me grunting in disgust. But when the truth all came out, I was much happier and the HEA came too. If you love the angst of new love where the couple guess what the other is thinking instead of outright saying it…you will like this one. The side characters are really good and the writing is very believable…for me it was just Jo that had me full of angst! Enjoy!

This is a great book, quite short in length so its ideal for an afternoon on the beach, or an evening chilling out with a glass of wine.

Jo moves away to the sticks to start her life anew and leave behind the baggage of her old life and the glare of publicity from being married to a man in the public eye. What she doesn’t expect is to move next door to a half Native American man, who illicits all sorts of responses from her, feelings she is unused to and that leave her nervous and unsure. The feelings also force her to face up to her emotional baggage from her marriage, and deal with all the insecurities and lack of self confidence it has produced.

I enjoyed the story and the development of Jo and Hawk’s characters as their relationship grew and became deeper, and the symbolism of the Doe and the Buck according to Native American beliefs was extremely sweet.

The secondary characters' in this book are well developed as well, notably Hawk’s parents Ray and Raven, and their contributions to the story are funny at times and definitely add to the overall feel of the book.

This is the first book I have read by Kendall Grace, and I enjoyed it immensely. I was provided with a copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

If you're looking for a true romance with some heatedly desire, a native american really hot and a woman risking a second chance at love, this is the book for you.

The author is a wonderful writer, touching our emotions with depth and true love, family and showing us what really counts to be happy in life.
The book flows with grace, word after word, and one thing is certain, there should be more Silent Hawks out there.

Silent Hawk is a man trust worthy and loyal to his family, loyal to his feelings and when he truly loves there's nothing he won't do to get what he wants. I'm not telling but you'll see that he's a good listener too, accepting that he is not alone anymore and changes have to be made, forgiveness is the word.

Jo is a woman scarred by her ass ex-husband, believe me he is awful, but she will risk everything to be happy again, overcoming her fears and trusting her heart. I really dig her, truly.

Even though "ThunderStruck" is classified as western erotica, I find myself thinking this is truly a western romance and not so much erotica.

If given a chance to read or buy this book, don't think twice about it, a true romance is flowing from this pages.

the romance and characters fell flight. jo is about as interesting as paste and the issue with her ex husband felt rushed and not fully fleshed out. I totally hated what she did to hawk. I don't care if she did it in his best interest. it was cruel and imo unforgivable.

This time I returned to one of my teenager's passion: a book western romance, just to get away a bit from the world paranormal I was absorbed in recent years. And I am not sorry about this choice, Thunderstruck is really a nice book to read, a wonderful story of love that comes between two characters with very different experiences, initially pushed toward each other by an intense physical attraction, although Hawk, the gorgeus and hot young man and a very good horse breeder, with his Apache heritage, immediately captures the signs related to the traditions of his culture that show that Jo will have an important role in his life if he will play his cards right.

The plot is perhaps not the most original, but the character of Hawk has a unique charisma, thanks to his origins Apache, his traditions, not to mention his charm and sensuality.
Jo is a woman who, after making the choices always better for others, decides to give space to herself afresh by challenging her own uncertainties and discovering what she is a woman finally with a very strong will, proud and free.
In addition to the beauty of the love story between Jo and Hawk, I loved Hawk's parents, Ray and Raven, a pair that fate has divided with its ups and downs, but has never really separated them. A special love.
A beautiful book, exciting and definitely a nice and romanic reading.
Thanks to Netgalley and Ellora's Cave for the book.

ThunderStruck is my first book by Kendall Grace and it certainly won’t be my last. I fell in love with this book and these characters from the very beginning.

Jo Montgomery has decided the best way to get away from her public life and potentially public divorce was to move away to a small town in Georgia and just leave it all behind. Buying a house listed as a “fixer upper” sight unseen seemed risky, but she didn’t care. However, being face to face with this hasty decision was a different matter altogether. Wow, this was going to take a lot of work, a lot of professional help and Jo had no idea where to even start. Just about ready to admit defeat, Jo looks up and sees the sexiest man she’s ever seen standing in her doorway. Flustered, Jo learns that he is her nearest neighbor and a nice guy. He tells her to come to his place tomorrow and he can give her a list of handy men that can help her out with the place. The thought of seeing him the next day makes her feel things she’s only read about in books.

Hawk Stephens is half Apache and believes very much in signs. One look at Jo and he knows that she was sent for him. All the signs are there and she makes him feel things he’s never felt before. Being around her for a short time he learns quickly that Jo is as skittish as the horses he trains. Something in Jo’s past has her scared and he knows he has to take things slow, so he doesn’t scare her away. That’s easier said than done when all he can think of doing is stripping her naked and having his way with her.

“You’re killing me over here. But damn if you’re not worth it.”

This book is hot! I absolutely loved Hawk and his beliefs. When things got tough he questioned this faith a few times, but he fought on. The supporting characters in this book were a joy. Hawk’s father made me laugh out loud a lot! I loved that he and Jo became a team. Even though he loved his son, he had room for a friendship with Jo and it was the sweetest thing to read.

I would like to thank NetGalley.com for the loan of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I am on a lucky streak with well written romance books lately. Seriously lucky.

I judged a book by it’s cover this time and it paid off.

When it comes to my romance novels, I want a story line to go with everything else. I want a hero who sweeps our lady off her feet, both literally and physically, I want love to go with the attraction to each other. In books that aren’t part of a series, I want a HEA every single time.

Now this one in the description on Amazon says that this is A Romantica® western erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave. And it is, but it feels like so much more. There’s this guy named Hawk, who is amazing. Strong in body, mind, and spirit, handsome, giving, he is completely swoon worthy. Our heroine is so likable. Jo is one of those ladies that you root for. You want her to get the guy, especially since (obviously) you can’t have him. Loved the characters.

With the way the book started and with the description on Amazon calling it an erotic romance, I honestly was thinking it was just going to be a wham, bam, thank you ma’am type of thing but there is more to it.

Hawk is going on my list of imaginary boyfriends.

I have to mention, I loved his father Ray too. He’s not going on my list of imaginary boyfriends, but he was fun.

I also loved all of the Native American traditions and spirituality Kendall used. That added something that kicked the book up a notch. It’s not something you can just throw willy nilly into a book without knowing what you are talking about. That was really neat.

The book is fast paced, I read it in a couple of hours with interruptions from my children.

The only thing that I would want from this book, and again this is typical of me and the romance books I love, more. I could have had so much more. It’s a good thing.

If you like your romance novels with the perfect recipe of hot guy (who never made himself available before) + beautiful woman (who doesn’t think she should) + drama that could tear them apart, then Thunderstruck is for you.

Ready for some hot summer romance? Would you just like to sit down and read a story about two people who fall in love? No woo woo stuff? No Shifters or murders or history involved? If so then Thunderstruck by Kendall Grace is the book for you.

Jo Montgomery has left her home and family and started life on her own. Desperate to get away from her cheating ex, she purchases a "fixer upper" (insert crumbling) farm house and heads to Georgia. Determined to start life over on her terms and become the woman she was meant to be. Find herself first! Of course she is in her new home for mere minutes before the oh so gorgeous man next door stops by...

Silent Hawk has lived in Verdalia Georgia his entire life but just recently life has been looking up for their family. And with the money came the women.. women he knew his entire life but suddenly they are all looking for more.. hmmmm. As part Apache he has his mother's beliefs and when he starts seeing signs from nature he knows life is going to change. So when he meets his sexy new neighbor he is ready to embark on something new.

This was a sweet story about falling in love.. Two people with their own lives and pasts, personal baggage and families come together and fall in love. There are issues.. Jo is older than Hawk, Jo's cheating rat of an ex husband decides he wants her back, Jo's parents are pressuring her to get back together with the rat.. but together they are conquering all. Until tragedy hits... Jo makes some decisions that could destroy everything they have built.

This book is what my mother used to call an in between read.. a sweet simple book that gives pleasure with no thinking.. A book you read when you don't want to cram your brain, only enjoy.. And it is perfect at it. Check it out..

Hawk (Silent) Stephens is a horse trainer in GA. For Hawk growing up in rural Georgia as part Apache wasn't easy. He was always treated differently. Things changed for him when he became famous for taming a very unruly horse. Thunder brings him money and fame; now everyone in his small town (women) wants a piece of him. He is at a point in his life where he wants more than the easy women that are interested in his money.
Josephine Daniels moves to Georgia to a house she purchased sight unseen; to make a change in her life. Jo comes from Arizona and a very politically connected family. She has finally started to live life for herself, making choices that she wants rather than what her family wants. When her neighbor Hawk stops by to introduce himself, Jo is immediately attracted to him. While Hawk is ready to move things along between them, Jo is still somewhat shy about dating again. Hawk sees in Jo his other half and realizes that he has to reel her in the way he does his horses, slow and steady.

I enjoyed Thunderstruck. This was my first book by the author and I felt it was a great story. I found the characters refreshing. Hawk and Jo actually talked with each other; their relationship was slow to build but it developed into something sweet. Jo needed to trust herself and Hawk. Hawk is quite the man; I was interested in him right away. Between Hawk and Jo they knew how to heat up the sheets! I liked Jo she came across a little shy in the beginning but as the story moved on she grew into a strong women. She had to make some hard choices in the book and I don’t know if I would have done the same. But regardless of what Jo’s choices were, she did them for love. There are definitely some surprises in the book that I wasn't expecting but they worked out really well. Thunderstruck is a really sweet romance with two great characters.

Personally I've yet to meet an Ellora's Cave book that I haven't liked. I've also never met an Ellora's Cave COVER that I haven't liked. When looking at a ripped, bare-chested cowboy on a cover of a book, am I going to turn it away? Um, NO. I'm a Mom - not a total idiot. So right off the bat, "Thunderstruck" by Kendall Grace gets a big ole "thumbs up" from me -- and I haven't even cracked into the story yet!

Is there a story? Yes. It's another great benefit of an Ellora's Cave publication. They actually have a plot. Yes, the sex is hotter than the prairie in the height of the summer, but there is actually always a reliable, interesting story to be found. In "Thunderstruck", Jo is rushing to leave her marriage/divorce and ex-husband behind -- not as easy to do since he is a powerful Senator up for re-election. Finding him having an affair shakes her trust in herself and in men in general. Her neighbor, Hawk, has no such reservations and upon meeting Jo decides she is his fated one. There are some very interesting allusions to Native American beliefs and watching nature for hints that are being given to us. During her retreat from her public life, Jo "finds" herself and in doing so, becomes a stronger person who can then create stronger bonds with her sister; Hawk and her family of her heart (not necessarily blood - and don't we ALL know that many times those are the BEST families??).

This is an easy read and a great book to throw into the carpool / waiting to pick-up-kids bag! PLEASE NOTE: I did receive a free copy of this book in exchange for an HONEST review. That said - the one complaint I would have against this book is the price. For a writer with a sparse gallery of work, I probably would have never purchased this book with it priced the way it is.

I really, really enjoyed this book.

Jo was in a loveless marriage for all the wrong reasons and has stood by her senator husband for too long. When she decides to leave him, she moves to a small town in Georgia to get away and make a new life for herself.

Jo's just wants peace from everything and everyone.

In walks Hawk ... Sweet baby Jesus.

Hawk is just so perfect, I loved how he had been waiting for 'the one' even though we weren't told much about the heritage or what it was he went through to learn about it. Regardless, he knew that she was for him since day one.

Shaking his head, Hawk resumed his walk. Jo Montgomery. She was going to get under his skin, he could feel it. But what a lovely itch to scratch. - Hawk

Jo fought him at first, she didn't know what to do with a man like Hawk. Her ex-husband was a real asshole, and the number he did on her really messed her up.

Hawk made her feel safe and secure. Sort of Alpha, but he he knew when to back down.

He nuzzled her neck and heard her gentle sigh. He returned his mouth to hers. Mine. All he could think, could feel with Jo pressed so intimately against him, was mine.-Hawk

But I truly believe that Hawk helped her be more herself than she had ever been. I loved that she was able to stand up to her ex- asshole- husband with confidence. And her love for him showed when she had to make a hard decision.

I love, love, love Ray.

He was always unbelievably sweet and comforting — and damnit i want in laws like him. He loves his ex-wife so much despite everything that happened and it really added to the story. Made it even better.

Love, love, loved this book.

I never seem to go wrong with books from Ellora's Cave. Their blurbs are always spot on, the covers are true to the story, and they (almost) always deliver a story that takes me out of this world and into a new one. Whenever I need a book that isn't all about the smut, where the plot and characters can stand on their own, EC have my go-to books.

I'll be the first one to admit that I don't find long hair on men sexy at all. But on Hawk, it didn't bother me at all. Sure, Jo was all over his hair from time to time, but thankfully it wasn't a big "thing". Hawk was 'hawt'. A man's man with the cowboy boots to support all his manliness. I liked him as a character a lot. I loved how Kendall Grace allowed us to 'see' him as more than a man with a crazy horse. He's one of those characters that gets under your skin and won't let you easily forget about him.

Jo has a lot of baggage and believes she's broken. Hawk has his work cut out for him when it comes to Jo. Little by little she becomes the person she was supposed to be all along. I never really warmed up to her, she was a little too hung up on her past. I get why she did the things she did, though I didn't really like them. Had I been in her shoes, I guess I would have been much more selfish. But then that wouldn't have made for a good story, now would it? :D

Overall a feel-good story with smut hot enough to burn up the sheets.

I received this book as an e-galley from Ellora's Cave Publishing via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.

Hawk was a horse breeder in Georgia basically a horse whisper. Jo (Josephine) was the ex-wife of the senator of Arizona. After 12 years of being for the most part being neglected and her ex cheating on her she decided to divorce him quietly. She then packed up after and bought a dilapidated old house next to Silent Hawk and his father Ray that owned a cotton farm and horse stables. Hawk’s dad is so funny and really helps move this story along and his mom Raven brings to it this quiet happy peace of what you would expect from the Indian culture. Hawk became rich after being poor by making a spirit and wild horse tamed and redeemable. He was able to stud him out after someone saw how fast he was and that horse went to the Derby and won. Hawk is part Apache and was taught his Indian way from his mother and when he went on a Quest to the mountain to find himself after doing a lot of womanizing. He was told by the (spirits, gods…) that he would meet a special woman and he would know it would be his fate. Hence Jo and the story begins. You will not be disappointed with this story the way this author spins this tale brings in a lot of Indian lore as well of good old fashion love and some nice small amount of erotica. So, yes this story as a little bit of everything. Provide by Netgalley

After her marriage of 12 years falls apart Jo moves as far away from her ex as she can to heal. She ends up in Vidalia, GA in a house that needs major repairs and with a neighbor who is too hot for her own good.

Hawk is half Apache and he knows that he will be meeting the women he is to spend his life with, when he meets Jo he knows it is her. The signs and omens back up his belief now if he can just convince Jo to give them a chance.

The love story between Jo and Hawk builds and seems to follow a pretty natural progression and includes plenty of wild romps. The sexual tension is really built between Ray and Raven, Hawks divorced parents. The back story behind Jo's flight to Georgia is a bit weak and it seemed like there we several openings and opportunities to introduce more of why the ex is such a bad guy that were missed.

This is a lovely love story with some steam to it without being on the more extreme end of erotic. We are treated to sexy Apache cowboys and that is always a good thing. I could see a series developing around this small Georgia town so I will be keeping and eye out for more works by Ms. Grace in the future.

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

This e-book was a quick and easy read for me. Classified as 'Western Erotic Romance' from Ellora's Cave, it is on the 'steamier' side of sexy - one that worked for me. I have not read any work from this particular author before or from this particular direction of sub-genre, so I was very curious to see how the book developed.

Jo Montgomery is a woman with baggage. It's the kind of baggage that has caused her to move to Georgia, seeking a fresh start and a little bit of peace where she isn't forced to face her past at every turn. Hawk Stephens, (aka Silent Hawk), is the man that can make Jo stop running, if she'll only give him a chance and trust him. Their chemistry is off the charts and when they are in a room together, the tension is palpable. The sex is hot, but not enough to fix their problems.

I had fun with this book. It wasn't a heavy read and it didn't require me to engage myself too much. While it was fun, some aspects of the book were a bit boring - simply because it is difficult to write a fresh scene that hasn't been done before. (My opinion at least.) However, I liked the depth of the characters and I liked how developed the cultural aspects of the story were as well.

Jo Montgomery, desperate to leave her old life behind including her Senator ex-husband, moves to a small town in Georgia to flip an old house. What she doesn't expect if to meet and fall for her sexy neighbor, horse whisperer Hawk Stephens. Hawk is half Apache and believes that Jo is The One and uses the signs nature gives him to follow his heart. Jo is skeptical, but cannot deny her true feelings. Just as they are getting closer, Jo's ex comes back into the picture and a tragic event could rip them apart for good.

I was a little hesitant to start reading this one because of the "signs" Hawk was receiving that proved Jo was the one for him, but they were very understated and the emotions/feelings the two had for each other were the main focus. Hawk is a really great male lead who isn't afraid to take charge, but also doesn't push Jo when she is hesitant to believe all the signs. The sex scenes were very, very well written and appropriately placed within the story. The ending was actually very moving and I was glad to see that everything worked out in a way that was mutually beneficial to each of the characters. I'll definitely read more from this author.

This was really an easy (summer) read, I liked it.

Though there was too much of Jo stroking her arms and rubbing her temple, biting the lower lip...

Hawk is sexy for the most part, when he doesn`t shuffle his boot against the hardwood, taping the metal tip against the cabinet, or kicking some gravels in his yard..which makes him a bit childish.
This is not all present in the book, but still there and a bit disturbing.

I loved that he is a horse whisperer, that makes him even more mysterious, that he already is with his Apache spirituality. I wished for a little bit more of it in the story.

The blurb and the cover attracted my attention, but I was really expecting a bit more suspense and drama than what I read (like the issue with her ex husband felt not fully fleshed out).

Overall I liked the book but it didn't have the progression that I was hoping for.

Thank you netgalley and the author for the review copy of this book.

Jo is running away from her ex husband.. she moves to Georgia and desperate to start a new life. What she doesn't expect is to meet a sexy handsome neighbor, Hawk...

First of all, I just want to say that the cover book is oh so sexy! I'm obsessed with sexy abs and this one is lickablelicious! lol.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! This is a short read but I appreciate that the author took time to show the character development between Jo and Hawk. They are likeable and I had instant connection with them.

Hawk is your typical hero.. hot cowboy, protective and a bit of a pusher but what I liked about him is that he follows his heart.. He's been waiting for the "one" and he knew it was Jo.

There were some issues that made the story more interesting.. like- Jo being older than Hawk, her cheating ex husband and so on.. the story is nothing too dramatic but it was enjoyable and I was hooked!

Overall, I recommend ThunderStruck to anyone who is looking for something short and sexy to read.

This is my first book from this author and sure won't be the last!

I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Thank you.

It seams like I very rarely get a chance to read a romance with a H/h that has Native America Heritage. I love the earthly element that it brings to its story's. being one with nature, animals and with ones self.

I liked this story. I wish it was a tad longer though. She has so much courage under neath her scared shell its amazing. I wish we would of seen more of her coming to terms with being on her own and making it work before she was thrown back into another relationship. I just didn't get that feeling when the H/h connect. It was coming, but with the shortness of the book it seamed rushed. I feel like we lost a little bit of what she was accomplishing by making it on her own.

But, how she sacrifices for Hawk and his mom and the charity quickly reminded that. It takes a strong women to let go, at that hard time.

I loved her relationship with Hawks dad as well. I was hoping to see the progression of his and Raven's reunion.

My view

At the beginning, I thought the book moved a little too fast or I should say Hawk moved too fast. No matter the story is fresh and did not felt repetitive. The main characters had great chemistry, and their relationship moved further than the bedroom.

The story is well written in order to show the particular aspects of each characters. The physical descriptions matched the emotional ones making the characters well rounded. Unfortunately, sometimes Jo felt too weak too handle Hawk.

The ending is a good culmination for the story, but the book could use several more chapters to round up the edges. The Native American aspects are well integrated, but I think the author could amp them up a little. The epilogue was sweet and a nice finishing touch.

What I liked the most

I like the relationship between Jo and her father-in-law.

I wanted more of

I would like a little more of the Native American culture reflect on the book.

Who should read it

Anyone looking for a different romance story.
