When the famous clown Ponyacci comes to Ponyville, Pinkie Pie learns a startling secret about him that could ruin his career! Determined to save the master of mirth, Pinkie Pie sets out to prove the value of laughter. The show must go on!
This one ACTUALLY felt as though it was an episode; of course there could have been more, but it's a micro series so, yeah. I loved it though, it was funny and cute, it was light and we also got a nice letter and sort of moral in the end when Pinkie copes with her idol changing his career for the better. I will definitely be reading this one again.
I read this because my daughter is TOTALLY obsessed with anything My Little Pony right now. Fans will enjoy this one. My husband loved the play on the old sad clown cliche from Alan Moore's Watchman: "Man goes to the doctor. Say's he depressed... Doctor says, 'Treatment is simple. Great clown, Pagliacci, is in town tonight. Go and see him. That should pick you up.' Man bursts into tears. Says, 'But doctor, I am Pagliacci.' "
Pinkie Pie's favorite clown, Ponyacci, is retiring. So, she is really sad. But, in the end, she helps him find a way to chase his dreams that helps everypony without requiring him to perform.
