WHENEVER YOU NEED ME ...

She had given him the most precious gift of all --- the gift of life. But something more than a mere blood transfusion linked Wyatt Hatfield to the stranger who had saved him. Something that allowed her to call out to him for help in the stillness of the night --- without ever speaking a word ...

And now it was his turn to give. For the connection that linked Wyatt to Glory Dixon was the only hope he had of saving her from danger. And he had to try --- because without ever trying, Glory had become more precious to him than his own life.

The story of a young woman who is psychic. She "sees" a man have an accident in a blizzard and knows she has to go to the hospital to give blood. They share a rare blood type. After the man Wyatt recovers he can sometimes read her mind as a result even though they never met. About a year later he hears her call to him for help. So he goes back to the scene of his accident to find her. Once he does he never once doubts her abilities and helps her all he can. I loved the way he was immediately there for her, protecting and helping her without being pushy or domineering in any way.

The heroine, Glory, is fragile and other worldly. The villain is not a super evil guy just a garden variety evil creep. That is one of the things that I admire about SS. She doesn't feel the need to have all her villains be larger than life. She illustrates that when someone is out to get you for whatever reason, even the slimiest creep is one bad guy too many. Loved to see Lane and Toni from the previous book Miracle Man (Romantic Traditions) show up to help in this one. Here again as in that one, the writing is rather flowery but in a good way after all we have an ethereal otherworldly heroine. The plot made sense and flowed well and the secondary characters were well done and believable. Loved it.

So this one had a supernatural edge and without a doubt I end up liking books with either of the leads being psychic and having connections but this one did not work out for me.

SYNOPSIS:
Pre-cog gal from the backwoods of Kentucky ‘sees’ an accident one night. In the middle of a blizzard, she frantically arrives at the hospital just in time to provide a life saving transfusion of her rare blood type to the critically wounded man from her vision.

Flash forward: the man, Wyatt recovers and wants answers. He seeks out the mysterious woman of the blizzard, and arrives just in time to find her grieving for her family. A killer targeted Glory, but missed. Wyatt arrives and takes over the investigation and insures that Glory stays out the cross-hairs of a killer. Cue HEA. (Happily ever after).

CONS:
Ok. Glory is a very wimpy whinny passive character who expects others to take care of her. Despite the fact that she’s in her mid-twenties, she has no job. No higher education. No prospects of doing anything in particular. And apparently has no intention of changing the status quo. So..... how does she pay for stuff?

Also, IMO the entire town dislikes or distrusts Glory due to her pre-cog abilities. (Ok, the church ladies were nice and did some kind things...), she has no chance of a bettering herself, and has nothing and no-one to tie her to the backwater little dirt farm her family owned. She could go anywhere and relocate, but chooses to remain passive and mired in mediocrity in this wretched little community. IMO, she should have moved to the town where her husband Wyatt has 5 million relatives so there’s that ‘multi-generational influence’ available for their children. (Translation: Free Babysitting).

PROS:
It’s a Sala, and she always delivers absorbing stories. I’m slowly working my way through all her books and enjoying them all. This is not one of my favs, but it still beats the average paperback.

What a great story. Love the link between Wyatt and Glory. Also love the way Wyatt and his family stand behind her without question.

[ENGLISH REVIEW BELOW]

Original title: When You Call My Name

Wow I have to say that this is an amazing book, truthly amazing <3 At first when I chose this book, I thought it was a softly love story due to its name, its cover and the summary, but then it turned out to be a detective-love-story (although detective element wasn't added so much in the book yet I like the way it was well-handed).

Okay, lemme say a little bit about the book in detail. Our heroine, Glory, is psychic. She can see future and that's what bring her the worst tragedy. Wyatt, who's always bothered by his own past, after being saved by Glory abily, suddenly heard her voice calling for help in the middle of night. In the story we also witnessed the appearance of Lane and Toni Monday, Wyatt's sister and brother-in-law and I like the way they appeared and supported in the story (a little annoyed that this is the second book in Hatfield series, the 1st book hasn't been translated in Vietnamese nor can't be found ebook on the internet, while I desperately want to know the story of Lane an Toni :(( )

Another point that I like is the way Sharon Sala created her character. They read each other mind, or to be exact, at first Wyatt saw Glory's mind. I love the way they reservedly thought about the other and about their future together, or about the pain Glory was suffering. Although they'd just met for a couple of days, the way their love grew gradually by the author's word still made huge difference with "instant noodle" love in those Chinese novels.

Delicated, deeply and a little dramatics is what contributed to make a worth-reading book!

He was on his way home in a heavy snow storm when an out of control truck caused him to have his crash. With her special gift she dreamt the accident and convinced her father to go take her to the hospital to help. He has a rare blood type and she has that same blood type. She literally saves his life. In doing so he ends up being able to hear her thoughts and when she screams for help he hears her and tracks her down so he can help. Her family have been killed and her home destroyed but with the help of the stranger she once saved they track down the killer. Love blossoms in the meantime. HEA ending.

Unusual

Glory Dixon was special, psychic. She dreamed his accident and gave blood to save his life. Wyatt Hatfield got more then blood from Glory something that allowed her to call out to him for help....
I loved this story, my paperback is falling to pieces luckily for me it is available through kindle. I liked the character's and as the story grew lost myself in the book.

Wyatt Hatfield and Glory Dixon: Another great read by Sharon Sala. She never disappoints. When Glory ( a physic), saved Wyatt’s life by giving him her blood ( transfusion) she also gave him more! When he heard her calling for help ( in his mind), he set out to find her. He stayed to help her after he found out she had lost her family and was in danger. And so it went! I love Sharon Sala.

A continuation of the Hatfield family. Tragedy happens early in the story, followed by grief and a great deal of sadness. I’m not into depressing books, and this one borders on that classification. It ends better than it begins. I liked the characters from Miracle Man becoming a part of the story line, not just being mentioned. Overall a great love-suspense book.

An early book by Sharon Sala, in which the psychic heroine and the ex-soldier she rescues acquire a mental connection that brings him back to rescue her in return. It's a mystery in that we don't know how the bad guy will get caught, but we do know who it is. Good read. I liked it.

4.5 Stars. The paranormal aspect of the story was what I needed to read this week. I enjoyed the characters and their strengths. The villain in the piece was slightly more one dimensional than I expected. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the novel.

What I liked:
Really dumb villains
A lot of poignancy, even tear provoking moments
a picture of small town county life that is not completely silly
Nice characters - Wyatt, Glory, Lane. Also liked the Sheriff
Psychic connection as the beginning of the relationship, cool idea nd it worked well for like 2/3rds of the book

What I didn't like:
Wow, so very very sappy at times
Glory and Wyatt are very repetative, their romance wound up being kind of tedious
It should have been a lot more exiting than it was
Glory was almost one of the unbearable psychic heroines, all tiny and ethereal and wise.
On the other hand Wyatt was a rather undeveloped character

It's a 3 star for me, but just barely

This book comes after The Miracle Man and reading them in order makes the story flow better. Glory Dixon is a psychic; when she dreams she dreams that a man in an accident will need her rare blood type, she wakes her family and they take her to the hospital where Wyatt Hatfield is in surgery and she saves his life. But a connection has been formed and now Wyatt can hear Glory. Now both their lives are impacted by her good dead and his need to help her.
This is a wonderful love story, that includes, suspense and murder. Glory is an unusual h and Wyatt a willing hero. You will become involved in the search for a killer and the havoc, caused because Glory is, what she is. I loved it.

This romantic suspense with paranormal elements started out strong but after awhile started to slow. The romance seemed rushed and before long the events didn't feel realistic. Glory had a vision and rushed to save Wyatt's life then months later he hears her call for help.
