I selected this book because I read a review in the Des Moines Register. I am always interested in the first books of local authors, and Van Baale lives in the Des Moines area. This novel takes us into the lives of the family of a school shooter. You will feel the family's agony as they walk through the impossible, the unthinkable. This book is appropriate for high school and older.

Difficult to like a book with this subject matter. It deals with the aftermath of a school shooting and how the parents and family of the shooter handle life afterwards.
