Every story had an innocent beginning, even theirs, and Tabitha found herself wishing she had a chance to go back and relive it one more time, because she didn't want to let go any more than Wyatt did.

Wyatt made everything golden. Life was beautiful around him, and she loved him for it.

Somewhere along the way, Wyatt Conner had been imprinted on her soul. The threads that tied them together were unbreakable and bone deep. No matter how desperately she tried to untangle herself from him, somehow it just ended up pulling them tighter together.

I love you, Tab."
"I know." She leaned down and kissed the place directly over his heart that was beating hard and fast. "But you shouldn't."

He wanted to claim her. Own her, Leave his mark on her. He'd always known he loved her, but until now he hadn't understood just how desperately he wanted to push her down on the bed and fuck her until he went blind from the pleasure of it.

"Wyatt didn't want it, but without his permission, his heart started beating again. It had always beat for Tabitha..."

"She read once that impressions made in childhood formed the basis for someone's personality for the rest of their lives. Somewhere along the way, Wyatt Conner had been imprinted on her soul."

"Would you undo it?" he asked curiously. (...) would you still love her, knowing you were gonna spend most of your life hurting over it?"
"Yeah." He nodded without hesitation. "Without a doubt."
"Why?"
"Cause it was just that great."

"Wyatt made everything golden. Life was beautiful around him, and she loved him for it."

"I don't wanna cry right now. Let me love you instead. We'll take a rain check on the rest."
"Wyatt Conner loved red hair. He liked the way it shined in the early morning sun, like the brightest, newest kind of penny. He liked freckles too. He found himself wanting to spend a day trying to count all of them sprinkled over one pert, slightly upturned nose."
“Really, Wy, I wanna know why you like me. ’Cause it don’t make a lick of sense.” “I dunno.” He gave her an incredulous look because he thought it was a given that they were supposed to be together. “It’s an instinct. I’m happier when I’m around you. Haven’t you ever looked at someone and just known they were made for you?”
“Go out with me,” he said when Tabitha’s touch lured him into a false sense of security.
“No.”
“Kiss me.”
“No.”
“At least admit you love me.”
“Definitely no."
“What kinda superpowers would you have if you were a vigilante? If you could do anything, what would it be?”
“I’d make pretty redheaded girls fall hopelessly in love with me.” Tabitha giggled again. “You’re silly.” “No, really, that’d be my superpower.” Wyatt opened his eyes and gave her a wide smile. “I’d wield it shamelessly.” Tabitha arched an eyebrow at him. “All redheaded girls?” “Nope.” He rolled on his side and slipped his hand underneath the cuff of her jeans. He caressed her calf and pressed a kiss to her knee. “Just this one.” “Well,” Tabitha whispered as she stroked his hair and felt her stomach do that little flip it did whenever Wyatt was being touchy- feely and playful like this. “Maybe you really are a superhero, then. If that’s really your superpower, then I think it’s working.”
"He wanted to claim her. Own her, Leave his mark on her. He'd always known he loved her, but until now he hadn't understood just how desperately he wanted to push her down on the bed and fuck her until he went blind from the pleasure of it."
