M. Isidora Forrest is the author of more than a dozen books and articles on the Egyptian Goddess Isis and modern spiritual magic. She has been devoted to Isis for most of her life. She is an initiate of the House of Isis, an ordained priestess in the international Fellowship of Isis, a senior Hermetic adept, a maenad for Dionysos, and a founder of the Hermetic Fellowship, a non-profit devoted to education in the Western Esoteric Tradition.

Isidora lives and works in the not-at-all-Egypt-like climate of Portland, Oregon with her husband Adam Forrest, a fierce black cat, and both a Temple of Isis and a grape arbor sacred to Dionysos in the backyard.

This book is more like a textbook. It is very thick and very well researched. The book is also expensive! I got it from my local library but anyone interested in ancient Egypt and the deities Egypt worshiped will find this book very enlightening. All of the legends and myths connected with her are here as well as the history of her worship and all she became the Goddess of 10,000 names.
Her rituals of worship are also included here. There are drawings as well. I highly recommend this book for those interested.

Hands down the best book out there for working with Isis, whether it's in a group or solitary. Most of the exercises still need adaptation for working with a group, and I had to tweak things a little to make them work with my preferred style of guided meditation/trance, but absolutely fantastic scholarship and very meaningful ritual more than make up for it.

This is an outstanding book and is the kind of book modern Paganism needs, both erudite and profoundly experiential. Isadora Forrest deserves credit for creating such a fine manual for those who are, or desire to be, priests or priestesses of Isis.

**Still reading - will complete this review when finished.**

But already 5 STARS!!

I really wish my book could be accessible to more people. I think that every devotee of Isis and other Egyptian (also Greek and Roman) deities should read it! It's a *massive* book that is rather pricey - though its costs is reasonable for all of its contents. Sadly though, this unaffordable for a lot of people, and on top of that I had to pay another £30 to ship it to the UK! If its two parts were published across two volumes and sold through more than the publisher's store then more people would be able to read this marvellous book. For sure, the author deserves recognition for this work and more people deserve to be able to read it! So, even though it was very expensive for me, I have no regrets - it is worth every penny and I am grateful I could save up and buy it!

This is like the "Isis Bible" for the Goddess. The best book on the Great Mother Isis. All who love her should try to get a copy, used.

An incredibly thick tome: great for information, but a bit overwhelming in scope.

Definitely one of the best books for Kemetics, and Isian worshippers.

Excelling primer on Traditional Ways to know and Practice Isis Magic. (Currently out of print and going for a hefty price, but be patient and a reasonably priced used copy will come up)

This book goes into detail on how to become a Votary of Isis, and all related Egyptian things. Many many practices, meditation and steps to work through.

A foundational text for anyone working to become a Priestess of Isis.

This is a great book for all Iset devotees, even if you’re not pursuing a priestess or priestly path with her. Even if this book is geared toward a Priestly path with the Goddess, it’s still great to have just for info and reference.

It is an extensive book, however, quite worth it to have. Check out the author’s blog as well at isiopolis.com
