When Rose Turner gives up on her supposed wolf shifter mate and goes husband shopping, he finally returns to claim her. But, instead of mating and starting a family, Sky Wolfe drags her into the troubles that have kept him away these past eight years. Wolf’s Princess is the perfect ending to Maddy Barone’s amazing paranormal romance series, After the Crash.
Rose Turner was only sixteen years old when she was flung fifty years into a post-apocalyptic future and claimed by a teenage wolf shifter. When she refused his claim, Sky Wolfe left the den and moved to Omaha, intending to return when she turned eighteen to renew his courtship. Now, eight years later, in the final installment of the After the Crash series, Rose is an old maid with a pack of wolf shifters guarding her from other men. She wants a husband and children, and since Sky has ignored her all these years she decides to find a man to love on her own.
Sky has been busy in Omaha, where women are commodities, working to change the laws that oppress them. Victory is at his fingertips when he receives word his mate is husband shopping. Can he free Omaha’s women and woo his mate? Or will he have to choose between them? Read the breathtaking conclusion to this series, in which a group of plane crash survivors learn to live in a future that is nothing like their past.
I love to write romance stories. I also have a day job with Medicare. I just wish I could quit my day job and write full time! I have so many stories rattling around in my head trying to take over my life that half the time I sound like a moron when I'm chatting with friends.
When I'm not writing I am spinning, knitting or reading. Fiber arts are a form of therapy for me, and while I'm spinning or knitting my characters talk to me. So if you look at a piece of my knitting and find an odd hole here and there, I was probably having an intense, private discussion with a werewolf while I was knitting that particular spot.
I was a little bit disappointed with this book. I wanted a bit more of a romance but these two didn't spend much time together. The story was really about how women were treated in the post apocalyptic future in the city of Omaha. My main gripe is that the hero and heroine do not work together but are basically leading different lives. The hero is an ass ignoring her for years and then all the sudden 2/3rds of the way through the book he so in love. Hmmm...
Rose and Sky. I avoided reading this one for a long time, but I'm glad I changed my mind. This is the last in the series. Set in a Dystopian future where the men greatly outnumber the women to the point where women are viewed as precious commodities. A plane from our present day somehow crashes into the future with mostly women passengers. They meet the townspeople and also the wolf shifters that live nearby. When the women from the crash first came to the future, Sky new Rose to be his mate, but she was only 16 and not ready to be the mate of a wolf. So Sky leaves on the requests of Taye til Rose is a bit older. But Sky stays away for 8 years and Rose is more than tired of waiting. She decides to start dating and at 24 I have to say it's about time!! Sky hears of this and gets all PO'd because it comes at an inconvenient time for him. He runs a whore house in the city of Omaha... I know, that sounds real bad, but he's somehow still a virgin. I swear, I would not have read this book otherwise! He runs the house to help the women because Omaha is a really messed up place. For years it has been run by an evil tyrant (the Mayor) and his cronies. They have made it the law that women who can't afford to pay a 'single tax' or a 'marriage tax' must work in a whore house. Sky is working to change the law and the voting on this change is in the near future. So basically Sky no longer thinks about Rose but still expects her to wait on the shelf for him. When they first meet again, and for some time after they really don't get along. They decide that Rose will come to Omaha to get to know him better and then decide if they want to stay together. But Omaha is not a safe place for women, especially not at this volatile time. I didn't think that the author could make me like Sky and feel the romance, but she did! This ended up being my fave in the series so far. (I keep reading them out of order). And Rose is no pushover! There's some great action and the ending was fantastic with a sweet little epilogue! Lots of the old characters are mentioned or show up and new mates are found.
I hate to see this series end, but Wolf's Princess tied up some loose ends for me. We get to see several previous characters make an appearance, but thank goodness those appearances weren't forced in like a foot into a too small shoe. Each made sense and fit the story. I don't usually like epilogues, but this one was worthwhile. I liked seeing what was going on some months after the story ended.
This series has good world building, which I think is essential to a good paranormal or fantasy book. The characters are distinct, not carbon copies of previous characters with new names. Sky was a little less well defined than say, Tracker. Maybe because he is so foreign to any other hero in the series? He's lived in Omaha for so long he's practically forgotten what a wolf is supposed to be like. He wears business suits, for godsakes.
This was the longest book in the series, maybe because there was more than one romance going on here. Wish we would have seen a little bit more of Stone and Sara, but I'm satisfied their HEA will stick. And Stone was so darned cute sometimes, like when the other guys from the Den teased him about keeping the noise down on his wedding night. It took me a while to warm up to Sky to be honest. He was a snot in the first half of the book. But he did redeem himself nicely. Rose is a strong woman who can take care of herself, which I appreciated. I really prefer a heroine who can stand up to whatever life throws at her. (I suppose that's why I didn't enjoy Lisa and Sherry as much as the others. Still, even those two managed to grow a spine by the ends of their stories.)
Took me just over a week to read the entire series and I really enjoyed them. "When a plane takes off from Minneapolis Minnesota in 2014 and crashes 2064 the survivors learn: 1. Nuclear war has destroyed the world they knew. 2. Plague has reduced the female population to a precious few and every woman is worth her weight in gold. 3. Werewolves are more than just stories, and they want mates."
Each book follows 1 or 2 women from the crash as they leave the plane to find help and find themselves a man who can turn into a wolf instead. The books do a nice job with character development and really explaining what life after 'the Terrible Times' is like. No electricity, no phones, no technology of any sort. I found the books highly entertaining and tbh a bit frightening - sadly, I can see something like this happening - (not the time travel or the shapeshifters ) the Nuclear war, a plague and the elimination of life as we know it. Book 6 had quite a few 'REALLY??' moments but was still enjoyable. I felt like book 7 was a big jump and a departure from the rest of the series. More time had passed between it and the other books. I would have liked more to tie it back to the others. And since it seems to be the last book, I'd also have liked an extended epilogue to know how everyone ends up more long term. But I'm also really sad that the series is done.
This is Sky and Rose's along with Stone and Sara and Snow and Odell and Paint and Katelyn's stories . WOW OH WOW !!! This is the last of After the Crash series and Maddy Barone outdid herself !!! As someone whom has read the series I often wondered what would happen with Rose and Sara . And it was so worth the wait !!! There is so much going on here there is drama , danger , pain and anger but there is also a willingness to work with each other and try to do the right things . This book is so much more than just an end to this series . It brings home what is important in life , love . At first I felt so bad for Rose over the way that Sky was acting ! Because he was not being the wolf warrior that she knew him to be . Not understanding the changes that happened during his stay in Omaha and what he saw and experienced and how it affected him . Dang that Mayor made me so mad !! It is a sign of a great writer to pull so many people together and to also pull so much emotion from their readers and wow does this author do just that !! This is so well written and STRONGLY RECOMMENDED to everyone !!
Sky and Rose and Stone and Sara and Snow and Odella and Paint and Kaitlyn
I enjoyed this book and this series. I was happy to see the resolution of the Omaha situation and I was even happier that all my favorite wolves found their mates. I will say that I was disappearing by the lack of the portrayed Scifi concepts like time travel and post apocalyptic. This series was good but needed better editing especially with timeline and other discrepancies.
I would recommend this book to any adult due to mature content. Also, be aware while there are no actual intimate assault scenes, there are references to the occurrences as well as attempted scenes.
Although this appears to be the last of this series.I really hope it isn't ! I read the first book a year ago. After finishing the series, I don't hat took so long to pick up the next book. However once I did , I was hooked! Love wolf shifters?? You'll love this series
As the last one of series I really enjoy it most. I was glad to learn about paint and stone as well. Sky was really annoying in the beginning but love conquer all so all was good at the end
Amazing conclusion to the After the Crash series. This is the book Maddy Barone’s fans have been waiting for since book one. I most certainly did NOT like Sky at the beginning of the book. He’s a boorish, condescending bully. His actions leave a lot to be desired. Rose has been waiting for eight years for him to get his act together and she is done. She allows him a chance to make things right. It’s a bumpy ride with lots of action, emotion and a bit of spice. Sky manages to impress me in the end. Rose is an incredible woman. She knows what she wants but is kind enough to consider others around her. I loved her treatment of the other women in the house. She is so sweet to Katelyn, accepting of Tasha, Cayla, and the others. When things get ugly she kicks ass. We get to see lots of our heroes from the series make an appearance. Stone and Sara from the last book, Wolf’s Vengeance, work through their separation. A couple of my favorite guys; Paint and Stone get a chance at love. It makes for a very satisfying ending. Highly recommended series and author
Loved Wolf's Princess Maddy Barone has done it again with this latest installment of the After the Crash saga!
We finally know why Sky stays in Omaha so long and not back at the Den with his mate Rose. This story will have you laughing, crying, cussing and cheering out loud! Thanks Maddy for a great storyline hopefully there's another After the Crash book in the future!
Just finished reading this in one day as always another page turner ,some good twists in this one that I didn't see coming and it rounded the story's off nicely with no loose ends. Love theses books and characters.
I was happy with seeing so many old characters and HEA for so many of them. BUT I hope it's not the end of the series. The book showed a lot of detail and a lot of questions were answered but I felt as though the ending was a little rushed.
