This was a fun read, I actually ended it with a legitimate laugh. It was especially cool to pick it up from Zubal Books in Cleveland, Ohio, since it was originally published by Zubal many years ago.

Harv is your everyday Cleveland blue-collar man. He can’t quite seem to find who or what he’s looking for, so he settles into a traditional life of working, saving, and experiencing what he can along the way. After a long career in trucking, his story takes a surprising turn that leads him into a quiet, lonesome solitude.

Each chapter reads like a short stream-of-consciousness story, something you can imagine hearing from your parents or grandparents. They’re tales of Cleveland (or really any city) as social change and questions of acceptance play out in the background. We move through Harv’s world from 1922 to 1985, witnessing the changes around him, and maybe the lack of change within him.

The “hello” introduction plants a seed that lingers throughout the book. I found myself trying to puzzle it out in every chapter, and finally, in 1985, we get our answer.

Can’t wait to read more from Don Robertson.

Don Robertson was recommended as a 'favorite' author by the book group of Classmates.com. When I could not find more familiar titles, I opted for Harv because of the acclaim on the book jacket back by Stiphen King.
It's short & easy to read but not tha great; however, but Don Robertson writes well enough to try another.
