First time meetings can lead to many things, but when you meet the one guy you're automatically attracted to—the chemistry sizzles. Strangers or not, it doesn't matter. It's lust at first sight and anything's game...
Sean's mundane job at a call center leads him to make some changes in his routine life. Getting fit is one of his goals and after joining a local gym, he meets cute and twinky Toby.
Toby nearly knocks the breath out of Sean with not only his cute looks, but also his wit and charm. Their attraction to each other is instant and Sean can't stop thinking about Toby and his perfect butt.
Things quickly heat up between them, but Toby isn't who Sean thought he was. Looks can be very deceiving. There's another side to Toby's personality. Sean's definitely met his match!
4.5 stars. Told in first person from Sean’s POV and in the present tense, this story shows us how Sean, starting workouts at a gym, meets Toby, a worker there. Their attraction is instant, but they remain uncertain of each other at first. Is he gay or not? Is he interested or not? Is he a top or a bottom? Is he into one-nighters or in it for the long haul? Typical relationship questions.
My pet peeve—lack of deeper characterization—is present here. It is, however, understandable because of the length of the story. Still, I felt like I didn’t get to know the guys beyond their sexual encounter. Then again, sometimes that’s what floats one’s boat, so to speak. As an erotic quickie, this works fine. Well, to be honest, we get to know Sean a bit better, his boring call center job and his hot roommate with whom he once had a fling. Toby’s more of a mystery—and a surprise for such a little thing.
Not much plot here beyond the first date, and the writing reflects that. This short story is recommended to all those who seek a few minutes of escape with a couple of cute guys, some hot sex, and a promising start to a relationship.
This book takes a while to get going, but once Sean and Toby manage to connect over coffee, they soon find themselves in the middle of a lusty date and physical exploration. The story (for me) had nothing new to offer though, and I had real trouble connecting to either of the main characters, so the emotional impact was lower than what I had hoped based on the blurb. I just couldn't feel the passion between them, not even just on a physical level. Also, some of what the two men got up to once they made it to the bedroom was just a tad too unrealistic for me, considering it was Sean's first time doing anal.
So, while there is nothing really wrong with the story, and I am sure others will love it, for me, it was "okay" = 2 Goodreads stars according to their definition.

I was given this book for an honest review: Sean and Toby are very cute once they finally decide what they want from one another. This is a very short story, but once Sean takes that first step and asks out Toby for coffee things finally start to fall in place for them. Things are very lusty between them but I have a feeling that given time they will definitely become more for the two of them.
