Prepare to fall in love. If there’s an order in which to read Terry Dean’s romantic comedies, Without You is where you should start. This is a tumultuous tale of best friends facing life together. From grade school to college and beyond, Jack and Stephany hold true to one another - as best friends. It’s only when life smacks them in the face, they come to understand the enormous depth of the many small moments in their life.
More than a book, Without You is something to experience.
Book synopsis:
Jack and Stephany are neighbors, best friends and as close as siblings. They face the world together throughout grade school, high school, college, and eventually working at a newspaper in St. Louis with abutting desks. The only thing that is strong enough to come between the two is the economy. Either Jack or Stephany must be laid off, leaving the other to stare at their best friend’s empty desk, day after day. Without You is a story of secrets held and secrets told. It’s unabashed humor surrounded by both emotional and physical needs.
This one by this author was a crushing disappointment. I loved Letters to My Wife and downloaded this one on the back of that. It sounded like another touching love story but seemed as though written by a teenager. Lots of dodgy humour and loads of SHOUTING ALL THE TIME which I wasn't keen on. I'd happened across a few errors when I packed it in at 25% too, lost the word of a couple of times, then used it's when it was meant to be it......I am staggered, really, that it's by the same author !!
I really enjoyed this book. I like be that the story followed the characters from elementary school. Even the lesser important characters are developed good. It is a well written book. I laughed and I cried, and the story keep me guessing.
