I hope you’ll find Wicked Sunset to be the genuine five-star novel that I intended it to be! I was thrilled with the way it turned out. I love the rich character development and sweeping storyline that transpired as I wrote the manuscript. I also enjoyed writing things from the first-person perspective of mostly Caleb, but numerous chapters are from Katrina’s POV. (Each chapter is identified by the name of the character whose perspective you’re seeing.) I was able to get inside the characters’ heads so much better and convey their thoughts, emotions, and circumstances much more intimately than in the first three novels. Most of all, I hope you enjoy seeing how their lives are evolving, both emotionally and functionally. It’s an edgy storyline with dark challenges for the characters, so I hope you’re ready for what lay ahead. I think you’re going to love it! The official release is this October (2013), so get ready to return to my Sunset Vampire Series. Kat, Caleb, Paige, and Alton have certainly been waiting for you. :-)
Who could even imagine what is coming next? Always a new twist around the corner. Something unexpected popping up. Yet through it all some things are just always and forever.
We are welcomed back to Mr. Primo’s Sunset Vampire series with a little bit of a bang and a little bit of a whimper, but as always with a good story to be told.
We first met Katrina Rawlings, a 500 year old alpha vampire way back in book 1, Sunrise at Sunset, where we watched as she first protected the young Caleb from his abusive father, and then when that child grew into a young man, a history professor by trade, she seduced him and they fell in love.
We’ve gone along with the two as they found how to love each other despite their differences, we watched as they traveled to London where we met Kat’s mentor, the dashing Alton Rutherford and saw Caleb fighting to become a man in his own right. Then we traveled to Slovenia with them to a vampire conference and got a peek at the strong man Caleb could possibly become. All the while we marveled at Caleb’s ability to get himself into one scrape after another as Kat and her old friend Paige scrambled to keep up with him.
Now back in Atlanta, a week after being back from Slovenia, where Caleb managed to save the day and get a concussion for a big thank you, things are getting back to what serves as normal for Kat and Caleb. Paige has paired up with the vampire doctor Ethan, who they met in Slovenia and who has moved to Atlanta to be with her, she is still very serious about her status as Caleb’s “vampire to call”.
Kat was scared half to death by Caleb’s near death and has done a little back sliding in her mothering of him and, while he isn’t crazy about it, he understands why and is trying to bend to her Alpha status without allowing it to break him. Matters take a turn for the worse when he is let go from his job at the University and feels like he has no purpose. Add a worldwide vampire struggle, assassins on the loose, Paige taking as many digs as she can, a few comas and a Caleb’s natural ability to find trouble into the mix and you have one wild ride in store.
I’ve not only read this series from Mr. Primo but his YA book and his new thriller as well, and I’ve always enjoyed his writing style. A self-proclaimed pun master, he brings that talent to his writing by giving Caleb and Paige, Paige and Kat and even very British Alton some classic lines. He has given us a varied cast of characters to get to know, some endearing, some frustrating, some fun and some just a little scary.
As much as I enjoy this series, I had a couple of little niggles with this book. I have mentioned in my reviews of this series that I’m not completely comfortable with Kat and Caleb’s relationship dynamic. She is very domineering and he is very subservient. I was happy to see Caleb coming out of his shell a little in the previous book, but alas he seems to have had a little relapse in this story. He fights with himself (and Paige) about his beta status, but in the end, he gives in because of his love to Kat. I understand Kat’s alpha status drives her, but sometimes I’m with Paige and just want to yell at Caleb to grow a pair. My other little niggle, was the story felt very much like a bridge story to me. While I know the importance of such stories, I felt the way Mr. Primo told this one was a little off. He seemed to be holding back for some reason, and it showed.
My niggles aside, this is a good series and this was an interesting (if frustrating) addition and I look forward to seeing where it is leading Caleb, Kat and company.

The waiting game is FINALLY over, & I get to shout to the world about how much Wicked Sunset ROCKS!!! In case you were wondering ... YES yes YES it DOES! If you have been hanging on Jaz's cliff awaiting Kat & Caleb's return you will NOT be disappointed. He didn't miss a beat picking up right where he left us. I could not put this book down! While Caleb is back with all of his adorable charm he's kicked it up a notch (or two!) throwing in a bit more spunk. Kat is alluring as ever, leading the way & demanding our attention. Paige is simply hilarious & genuinely had me laughing non-stop. Not forgetting all of our other beloved characters who make this story truly magical. The next book can not get here fast enough!!

Now...If you have not yet begun this series I would suggest starting with Sunrise at Sunset (Sunset Vampire Series, Book 1), so you can see where this terrific tale began. The blurb says it all! ;) *READER BEWARE - WARNING!*
If you're easily offended or turned off by: dominant or assertive female figures, primary love-interest characters that are beta males, or non-traditional relationships between men and women, then you should NOT read the Sunset Vampire Series! You'll be highly offended...you'll despise it, in fact.
Everyone Else: You're in for a real treat that's edgy, unique, and satisfying. Welcome to the Sunset Vampire Series!
Caleb is bravely overcoming a dark past while having no memory of the beautiful vampire that saved him. Despite a promise to stay away, Katrina is compelled to return to him. However, a vengeful rival from her past has dire plans for both of them.
I have been waiting for this book for a while now and trust me if you have read the other three books you will not be disappointed either! Jaz brings everyone that we love back, Caleb, Kat, Paige and Alton. It is nice to see the continued theme of a very strong female lead! Many books put the man as the alpha and the women are wishy washy. That is never the case with Kat, she knows who she is, what she wants and she knows how to get it too. As their lives are trying to get back to normal after al that happened in book 3 new problems arise for Caleb and Kat. After a pretty horrible injury, no one is sure if Caleb will be alright. His life is hanging in the balance and Kat has massive feelings of guilt for that. This book seems to have a little more of Caleb and Kat's feelings in it and that was cool to see. I'm sad that the book ended but happy to know that I can wait for a fifth book!
I have truly enjoyed this series and the adventure continues in book four. I have these books on my kindle and go back and reread them every two or three months. The story is great and I look forward to the next books also. The change in writing style was a small bump in the road that took some getting used to. But it is by no means a deal breaker. Like all the books in this series, one is left on the edge of their seats wanting more. Read the series in order, you will enjoy the adventure, it is worth the time.
Really Jaz?! REALLY.! cliff hanger ending ? Aaawwwww your killing me!i have been a fan of the series. I enjoy the vampire politics, the characters, and the writing! If you haven't read the series you gotta pick it up! I still am fighting for Caleb to fight more for his own freedom, even though it was brought out more in this book! But I understand kats ways as a furious killer, but possessive lover. I'm excited to read what happens next!
If your reading this and you haven't read this series's yet, you must ! I have loved seeing these characters grow from the first book to now. I can't wait for the next one!!! Jaz really put's a new spin on relationships and how they are normally perceived . All I could ever want in a book; love, action, comedy. You really become attached to these characters and love to see where it goes next. A series that is a must read!
As always another solid read from this series, I was a little bummed there wasn't more action in it, but the story line was amazing! Seemed shorter then they other books. I liked the new twist with Kat in London and Caleb attending Yale,of course his surrogate vampire Page was with him! This book was a quick and good read it defiantly left me wanting to read the next book in the series!
As always lots of action with the sunset vampires! I loved how the story was told from each side, Caleb's and Kat's however I hate the ending! I want to know who attacked Caleb! And now I have to wait almost a year for my answer! Great series can't wait til book 5

The best book in the series in my opinion. I loved everything about this book. I love the man that Caleb has and is becoming! I loved the relationships being formed and those that are tested. I love the promise of what will come in the next book! Great and quick read, could not put it down!
