Levi's Ultimatum

Rate this book
In search of someplace to belong…

Levi Hawkins was a typical fun loving, hard partying college student with his whole life in front of him — until one tragic night ripped his world apart and left him adrift with no home or family to return to. After a soul crushing stint in Afghanistan, he spent a decade wandering the globe searching for something or someone to make him whole again. Weary of regret and consumed by loneliness, he puts his heart on the line and turns to the only people still connected to him by blood.

He found an obsession…

A chance encounter at a lakeside café puts single mother Tori Ford directly in Levi’s path and he’s ready to stake a claim. She wants to keep her life simple. Work hard, raise her daughter, save some money and one day open the pie shop she’s always dreamed of. She doesn’t need complicated and she certainly doesn’t need a wickedly hot Dominant to take control of her future. Except when he touches her she yearns for the pleasure and passion of submission. But Tori can’t take another heartbreak and she can never trust Levi with her heart or her daughter if he won’t open up about the darkness slowly consuming him.

Review to come! Pretty sexy though, loved Levi!

I was given this copy from Netgalley for my honest review!

Book two in the Purgatory Masters series is a winner!!!
Loved it, the book flowed, there was no lull. It started fast and just kept on going that way. The characters were all good ones. I really enjoyed Levi and I was extremely happy that he fought for his happily ever after.
The one thing that frustrates me about this series is the background story.... I want some fricken answers. Yes in this one we get a few more, but still some are out of reach. I am sure this is done on purpose, but still.
This sex is off the charts sexy. Levi is a delicious dom and he was giving me belly quivers with his dominant antics.
If you like a good bdsm book with interesting fully developed characters and good writing I would advise giving this authors series a go!

Now I need to read the first in this series. Rich dominant males tied together by a dark secret and running a BDSM club could be easily designated as GlitterKink only. It is much more. Tori Ford is a single mother who is a spectacular baker. She is also a professional Domme to release her tension. When prodigal son, Levi, returns back to town and catches a whiff of Tori's peachy scent, Tori is in trouble.

Ms. Gayle creates a rich world with interesting characters. Tori is a tough woman who is fighting to make a living. She's also working against her small town's perception of her. Tori is complex because she's more than just a single mother. She's also more than just an aspiring baker. She is a professional dominatrix yet she is at heart, a submissive. While I can't relate to Tori, I can appreciate her situation and I admire her.

Levi on the other hand is a bit of a messed up guy. He obviously comes with baggage from his past. Once the reader learns of his past and how he's connected to his best friends, it's depressing. It's not that it is shocking. It's depressing because while it sounds crazy, it's plausible based on events which have occurred in the States. It makes this story feel more real and believable. This in turn, pulls me into the story completely. I want to know what happens next. It is like driving by an automobile accident and slowing down to see the aftermath. Not to say that this story is a train wreck. It’s the situations and conflict Ms. Gayle creates for her main characters which is kind of brutal. There is nothing sadistic or non-consensual. It's focused on the heartbreak and hardships of love gone wrong. The impacts of a selfish man who commits hubris causes a ripple which travels far. The fall out for those around him are high. I like this type of turmoil because it causes my heart to ache for the characters. My emotions are involved and I feel something.

The BDSM in this story is decent. This book can be with or without the kinky scenes and it still would be a lovely story. The kink adds a bit of spice. The twist of Tori's professional versus personal preference when it comes to BDSM is delightful. Since I'm a switch, Ms. Gayle captures the dichotomy quite well and presents it in hopefully a way people can understand. Each person is a little different when it comes to being a switch. This is probably the easiest way to show how a person can be both dominant and submissive. This kinky romance is recommended as a Gateway to BDSM book.

*I was given a copy of this book from Gypsy Ink Books, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review*

Levi Hawkins has a dark past that he and his family have put a lot of effort into hiding. He's sick of traveling the world searching for a place he's already found, home.

Toni Ford has an x husband she's ready to move on from, she's not ready to complicate her life with another man, especially a dominate one like Levi. When she walks into the dining room of the small restaurant she sells pies to, and finds her beautiful little girl talking and coloring with a gruff tattooed man in desperate need of a shave, she should be terrified right? But this man is different, she can see it in his eyes. When both peoples secrets start to come back to haunt them, who can hang on to the newly formed ties, and who will be left devastated?

I read this book as a standalone. While it made me want to read the first book, I didn't feel like I was lost, but as with everything where the characters overlap, I think it's ideal to read the first book before picking this one up. I immediately fell in love with Levi, life full out fan girling love. I have such a weakness for a Dominant man, but he wasn't just the bossy man, he was also vulnerable at times, and so very adorable with Toni's little girl Hannah. Toni I didn't connect with nearly as much, but the story and Levi made up for that. I never saw the twists and turns coming and it left me on the edge of my seat! There was nothing textbook predictable about the underlying mystery in this story

Levi's Ultimatum is a story about dark secrets, dark deeds, and dark needs. Levi Hawkins has stayed away from many, but he is lonely and ready to make a home. Unfortunately, the place that’s home for him holds bad memories and people he hasn't seen in years.

Homecoming throws Levi for a loop when he is greeted at his sister's cafe by the most beautiful thing, Hannah, wielding crayons and pie. Smitten at once with this sweet little girl, Levi becomes floored when he meets her mother, Tori, and is instantly obsessed.

Things were finally yielding to the way Levi wanted when drama strikes! Of course, things can't be that simple … I mean that would be just too boring. Dangerous secrets thought buried become revealed, one’s fears become accepted, and a need to dominate and submit become relished.

Book two in the Purgatory Master series both ignites a spark (in a real good way) and drops several bombs! Wonder why all the secrecy in book one? What was it that really happened and what's with all the family separation? Find out just a little more in Levi's story.

If you’re like me, by the end of this book, you will be on your knees—head bowed, and hands clasped begging Eliza Gayle for book three... Pleading that it's Mason's story next.

*Best line - He leaned forward and pressed his lips to the shell of her ear. "Then don't think. Just feel."

Okay. This is the type of story that absolutely melts my heart.

Having Levi, scruffy and dirty and hungry for pie, meet our heroine by coloring with her daughter...oh my gosh, I melted.

Running into this protective mother in the club...loved.

Taking over and bringing out the side of her that she had tossed away...beautiful.

I did not re-read the previous Purgatory Masters book, and followed along just fine, so while I would recommend reading book 1, it's not necessary to have a perfect memory to follow along on this book.

I now officially have a restaurant fetish thanks to Ms. Gayle. If you don't understand what I am talking about, you are missing out.

Loved it! I have to say that this series just keeps getting better! Levi is so haunted by his past that he has spent the last decade living an isolated aimless life, but he is ready to make a change by finally coming home. When he arrives, he is charmed by a 5 year old Hannah and her intriguingly beautiful mother Tori who has some dark secrets of her own. These two scorch the pages with their chemistry, and Levi is one sexy sweet Dom. Some pieces of the puzzle get revealed, but many more questions remain. Just know that the past is coming back full force for these Purgatory Masters, and you are definitely in store for a surprise.

One of the cool things about this book, which is just as good as the first couple of times I read it, is that you could take most of the sex out and still have a good story. Not that the sex isn't great and some of it is decidedly integral to the plot, but there's more than just sex here. There's a very good story, too.

Levi's Ultimatum by Eliza Gayle is book two of the Purgatory Masters series. I think it would have been easier if I read the first book of the series because it seems to leave off where the first book left off which leaves the reader hanging in confusion for most of the time but I don't think it takes away from the story at all since it seems to build up the anticipation of what happened even more. Levi's Ultimatum was a really intense book, from the get go you're thrown into a mysterious situation between friends that happen to favor the Dom/ Sub love life when a secret they hold is at risk of being exposed. I really feel sorry for Tori through the story because Levi really comes across as overbearing and harsh but as soft hearted as she is, she seems to also have a side of her that is drawn to Levi's redeeming characteristics. But there is something about Levi and Tori that seem to mesh well together as they begin to open up to each other. Tori lets Levi in closer to both her and her daughter and Levi begins to bring Tori back closer to his sexual tastes. Readers should be aware there is some really intensely detailed adult situations involving a BDSM club and Dom/ Sub lifestyles. If those topics make you squeamish this might not be the book for you. For all the kinky fiends you will love this book.

Until next time book lovers...

Tattooed Dom Oh Hell YES!!!!

Many of the character's we've met in Tucker's Fall, with the exceptions of Levi & Tori. Behind the erotic, romantic theme of the book is a family secret, one that links many people together out of friendship and necessity. Some of our characters have learned to deal with the hidden secret better than others. Levi has never dealt with this issue well.

Levi is a DOM who is lost. His life hasn't gone well. The last ten years have been spent trying to stop his memories from sending him to a dark place. Levi is so haunted by his past that he has spent the last decade living an isolated aimless life, but he is ready to make a change by finally coming home and maybe find some light and possible love.

Tori is a single mom and working hard to make a future for herself and Hannah.

When he finally arrives home he is charmed by a 5 year old Hannah and her intriguingly beautiful mother Tori who has some dark secrets of her own.

These two scorch the pages with their chemistry, and Levi is one sexy sweet Dom.

The characters in the book were well written, realistic and very likeable. The relationships between the main and supporting characters is strong, the tension evident, but above all they are there for each other.

We learned many of the secrets in this novel, but I suspect there are still many that have not been exposed.

The book has humor, conflict, angst, sexual tension, a bit of mystery, and hints of new relationships. The writing flows well, and the sex scenes are HOT and supportive to the storyline. The presence of a child in the book was not distracting, and I was pleased that Tori kept sight of the fact she was a mother, and didn't go off on her own agenda, leaving Hanna off to the sidelines.

I don't think I have done the book justice; there's lots going on, but it's all tied together really well. There is no cliff hanger, but I wouldn't read the books out of order due to the central theme tying the back story together.

Such a good series. Highly Recommend!!!!

I am at an immediate loss for words, so I'm going to be wordy trying to explain the rush of thoughts I had about this book.

First, I am NOT a submissive & I could never be one. Half the time I would be telling this guy I am going to beat his ass if he thinks I would EVER be still & be caned…I laughed during some moments. Actually that never happened in the book, but it was talked about as a past enjoyed experience… To each her own, but it ain't me!

Second, I do like the broody hot alpha male, and this guy was it! Hot too! Still, I am thinking I'm going to track him down and kick his ass though! He's getting turned on at the thought of this (sweet pie baking single mother to a 5 y/o daughter) woman sitting at his feet in a submissive pose, while he strokes her hair. Hmmmm… Not doing it for me.

The story & the premise were great, but it seemed like there was a secret subplot that we will only get tiny flashes of during the ENTIRE series, so I was confused as to what the era story was. It didn't seem complete…A preacher man was killed, he has dozens of children as a result of trying to populate the world with his spawn, a mother committed suicide, there is some cover up, and there is a relationship bigger and badder, with the 3 main men in this book. Also, why is the big deal about owning a BDSM club & who gives a rats a** if anyone knows if you did… Why is this scandalous? No clue!! It just is! Hmmm…

It seemed that all the twists in the story were no biggie, but we were supposed to think they were… People live through scandal all the time, and if there was nothing to lose??? what makes it a scandal. Questions weren't answered & so many more came up… Just not even close to one of my better reads… Sorry! I was disappointed! After the first chapter, it crashed for me!

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in place of an honest review.

Levi just wants to go back to North Carolina where he grew up. He can't seem to find anywhere else that he feels that he belongs. Only he knows he won't get the greeting he is expecting. It just seems that the secrets that his family and himself have tried to hide is coming out no matter how much they have worked to keep them hidden. Especially when he meets Hannah and then her mother Tori.

Catori Ford has to do what she can to make ends meet for her daughter and hopefully make a business making the pies that everyone loves. She is also hiding secrets herself. No one really knows who she is and it takes a strong DOM like Levi to figure that out.

Even more secrets are revealed and then there are even more that still needs to be revealed. This was a great book. The author knows how to get my attention and gives me an inside to each and every character. You think that Levi is a big and bad man but inside he melts at the smile of a little five year old girl. I know I got hungry wanting some of the pies that was in this book. I really wanted the Elvis Pie.

I like books that have some BDSM in it and a man that knows how to take control. If this is the books that you like to read and these are the men you like then you need to read this book.

This book can be read alone but is even better if you read Tucker's Fall first. This is the second of the Purgatory Masters series and is Fantastic! Levi has stayed away from his home for over a decade due to something that has happened in his past. Now he's ready to return home knowing that he won't exactly be welcome. He stops at Nina's cafe and meets the woman of his dreams. He is instantly attracted to her but Tori is weary of strangers and protective of her daughter who Levi meets while waiting for Nina to come out front. Both Tori and Levi have secrets about their pasts that they don't want revealed. Levi challenges Tori's life and bends her toward his will. If two people deserve happiness it is these two but will their pasts come back to haunt them or will they find their happy ever after? Eliza has a way of drawing you into her books along with challenging your beliefs and caressing your emotions. This book may have a BDSM genre but it is so much more. The details she entails into her description of the people, places, emotions along is enough to make you want more. I'm only sorry I could only give it 5 stars it deserves so much more.

This is actually the second book in the Purgatory Masters series. I didn't read the first one but after having read this one, I need to go back and get the first one and anything else that comes with this series. In this book we find out only a portion of the many secrets that Mason, Tucker, Levi and Nina have been living with for the past 10 years. However, there are several indications throughout the book that even Mason doesn't know the depth of the secrets and he claims to know everything! This book does feature some BDSM elements but is not overly graphic about them. Which is surprising since Purgatory is an exclusive BDSM club. Instead, the author tries to focus primarily on the relationship between the submissive and the Dom. Definitely looking forward to more of this series.

Again I felt like this story was bogged down with the secrets. Sure in the end part of them were revealed, but more are still there. I feel like when the secrets do come out they are anti-climatic.

I did like Tori and felt bad for her when her past came out. I loved Hannah, especially when she met Levi for the first time. I did like how Levi figured out Tori pretty quickly and have her what she was denying herself.

So far, Eliza Gayle has been a hit and miss for me. Whilst this story is good, there are some points here that bored me but other than that I liked it. Levi is too complicated to be appreciated while the heroine was a bit bland.

The sex is pretty sexy. It’s written pretty well. But, spoiler, he wanted to take her and her five-year-old daughter to a cabin he was thinking of buying, they go there without her daughter, and it turns out to be a retreat cabin?/hotel? for BDSM with many of the rooms set up for that. It wasn’t currently being used for that and no one else would have been there, but what the ever loving f? I hope he was planning to lock a lot of doors or be prepared to face the child inquisition. Also, how in the world does one manage to have a kinky sex life with a child around who might run in at any time and has big ears? Lucky for him, he owns a sex club and a sex cabin

Noooooo Tucker is here again. Didn’t like him then don’t like him now.
Instead of being honest and open he just fucks her over, again.
And again there is to much mentions about secrets but not talked about.
I need more openness to have any kind of relationship and most of all a honest and open relationship.
The guys expect honesty and trust and they aren’t themselves.
To me they are cheating and lying. What kind of real dom/sub relation is that.
And to me in this book it should be SUB/ dom instead of the other way around.

You just have to love Levi

A chance meeting with Hannah, a 5 year old who was sitting on her own in his sisters cafe with her crayons and what a cute delightful little girl she was, she just took his heart away with her chit chat, particularly when she gave him her drawing, a little later In between the chit chat Levi saw her mother, she was bending down retrieving an apricot pie, his mind was kind of scrambled. The first stirrings in a long long time.

Levi and Tori

This is an emotional read. The pain from both individuals jumps off the page. This story continues where Tucker's fall left us, therefore answering some questions, and bringing up more! Connections are made, secrets revealed. There is more to uncover in the next book, Mason's story!

Audible Audiobook

I thoroughly enjoyed the narration. The story though, not so much. It was all over the place. I wasn’t sure who’s head we were in & Tucker’s story was still going on & I still can’t tell if he told Maggie what happened to his father. Ugh. And the storyline with Catori’s ex husband—why couldn’t we see more of that & less of Mason?

Just kinda a mess.

Enjoyed some aspects of the book but the blowing hot-and cold from tori was annoying to say the least. It’s not a keeper and not sure I’ll read any further.
