An incredibly effective book for learning about modern transportation. One of the best books on transportation, I believe, that is available today. I used the book as an anchor to create a semester long course on Transportation Management. It provided a great foundation from which to build and augment. The only part of the book I found light was the area on technology but that could be because the greatest extent of my knowledge and application in supply chain has involved technology. For me, this was the one area of the book I augmented extensively. The information in the book was good, I just found I wanted and needed to go further.

Regardless, a very strong book for the layman or professional; I recommend it highly.
