Not Much to Original Content

This book is in the public domain, so anyone who wants to republish it may do so. Booksellers like Amazon require there to be some blank content to distinguish the different versions of the book. This particular publisher has chosen to have a very brief foreword that mostly, but very briefly, looks at the history and culture of Prince Edward Island at the time this story would have taken place. There's also a brief paragraph summarizing the book. That's all the original content that's in this book. The cover is lovely, but frankly, I don't find there to be enough of interest in the very brief forward to be enough to entice me to purchase this version of the book over another.

Heart Warming Classic

Something I would recommend for any youngster to read over playing video games all day. Reminds me of Huckleberry Finn as a child. A wonderful book to get lost in

5 for the book 3 for the version

Some things are changed from the original, which jarred me, and there were some typos. What do you get for $.99? Anne of Green Gables is a treasure, though, no matter how you read it.

As good as I remember

I must have read the "Anne" books 10 or 15 times growing up, and I reread it again after many years, this time with my daughter. Not only was it still really enjoyable and wholesome, my daughter loves it as well.
