Carmen's New York #3

Carmen's New York Love

Rate this book
Part 3 of the Carmen’s New York Romance Trilogy

Kurt Nielsen, New York's most eligible bachelor, is head over heels in love with Carmen Wilson. She makes him laugh and has no trouble setting him straight. With Carmen he has found his equal, and in many ways his superior. Add that to their extraordinary sexual chemistry, and Kurt knows Carmen is the woman for him.

Unfortunately she comes with serious baggage...

“My gorgeous girl is buried in a pile of crap, but I'm not afraid of hard work, and I'm good with a shovel.”

Before Kurt and Carmen can have their happily ever after, there are a few questions that need answering, not to mention some bad memories to conquer. Why are Federal Agents after Carmen? Is she going to jail? What happened with her ex? Is the twisted psycho still coming for her? What about the Mexican Mafia? Are they after her, too?

And perhaps most importantly, can Carmen defeat her demons?

It is just as well that both Carmen and Kurt have a good sense of humor.

Kurt has a secret weapon in the form of a sexy Frenchman, André Chevalier. André knows just how to help Carmen overcome her fears.

The last book in this series is 48,000 words.

The other stories in the series are Carmen’s New York Climax, and Carmen’s New York Escape.

The conclusion of Carmen's story and her HEA.

The first book was pure erotic, the second was harsh and more than dark and the third is a blend of erotic/dark/freedom.

I've mainly spoken about Carmen so far but Kurt is also an incredible man. He'll hear Carmen's story and will not be deterred by it. Like André, he truly loves women and he sees Carmen for what she is: an incredible woman who has survived an horrible past.
He is supportive, Dom in the bedroom but he wants a partner in life. He is the right person for Carmen. I also loved Kurt honesty. He watched Carmen's video and confessed he was aroused by it and disgusted with himself. It's the proof he is a confident and honest man. And really hot too "Thor God of the Thunderous Orgasms"!

There were really hot moments when Carmen had to confront her fear based on André Chevalier's method. Fans of menage, you'll be in heaven as Carmen will be sandwiched between two powerful doms: André and Kurt. How heavenly is that! I'm personally not a fan of menage (I love my heroes alpha, protective, possessive and territorial) but for André, I would make an exception. And it was a "once in a lifetime" experience (if they'll have more in the future, I'll never know).

Carmen's story has certainly been an experience full of emotions, sometimes very hard to read so be warned before reading the book. I would have liked less sex sometimes (yes, you read correctly) and more talk or actions/intrigue. But as we begin with an incredible hot sex scene it was unthinkable to have a long wait before seeing action under the sheets. And all love scenes were really "off the charts" hot so if you're into it, don't hesitate! BDSM amateurs your dreams will come true.

And above all else, "chapeau bas" (really, really well done) for writing about Carmen's captivity and "self training". I've never read something that's gutted me more than these dark scenes.

So all il all, 4,5 to 5 stars for the entire story.

This is the final entry in the Carmen trilogy, and it's like they say in baseball - third strike & you're out! In this case - IT'S OUTTA THE PARK!! Scorching hot story... lots of Carmen "karma" (she gets her say... someone who was a jerk is instrumental in her getting revenge... and boy oh boy -- haven't all women dreamed of that sort of revenge at one time or another???). Naturally, the sex scenes are imaginative and panty-melting... and if you are a fan of Andre Chevalier, you won't be disappointed -- he is part of the book and is instrumental in helping Carmen through her issues. (Have BOB nearby...)

Honesty now: The author offered me a free copy of this book in exchange for an HONEST review. However, I TURNED HER DOWN. I have become such a fan that the minute this book hit the e-shelves, I purchased it. Life just got in the way so I'm just now getting around to the review.

So here's the part of the review that everyone author probably detests - where the reader mentions areas they feel the author fell short.

As mentioned, this is the final entry in a trilogy. The problem is that if you were to purchase this book and read it as a stand-alone, you would be COMPLETELY confused by many aspects. While redundant (& quite frankly, mildly irritating for those of us who have read prior installments) it would have been better had there been a "recap" up front of how Kurt & Carmen "came to be". Why did he think she was a prostitute? Why does she call him "Thor"? Who is she running from? While some of these answers can be culled from things later in the book, I'm afraid that a "virgin reader" to the series may end up so confused that they don't get as "engaged" in the story. And let's be honest -- some erotica is written with some text thrown in between the sex scenes. The Carmen trilogy, even with the erotic sex scenes, is first & foremost a STORY.

Okay, here's my other minor pet peeve about this book / the series -- and it isn't for the author, but the editor/publisher (since I've heard that authors normally don't have any control about their covers). Did the editor/publisher even READ the book? Okay, so the couple on the cover LOOK like a "Kurt" and a "Carmen" -- but, c'mon -- KURT IS BLONDE. You know - Thor, the GOLDEN GOD? The male on the cover just always drives me nuts because, well - he's NOT blonde. Couldn't the publisher have found a stock photo with a couple that somewhat matched the basics of the described Kurt & Carmen?

If you pick up this book as a standalone, I would suggest reading the other two first. Despite the fact that you'll have a better idea of the backstory, it's worth the read! Even better - I believe that the trilogy is now out as a boxed set -- I would highly recommend it!

I love how all-encompassing these novels are, without becoming simply vulgar or crass. The author goes to great trouble to create a vividly real arena for her audience to live with these characters. As a reader you cannot help but become immersed in this extremely captivating world. While doing so she also opens a dialogue on a variety of different difficult or possibly disturbing topics. She does so with tact and flare, keeping her audience captivated while making them feel safe and comfortable (even if the characters aren’t always in the same boat). The suspense and danger that weave their way through this novel make it extra intriguing. I’ve also got to praise anyone who can work a Harry Potter reference into their work so seamlessly and naturally.

I appreciate the progressive character development throughout these novels. The author doesn’t rely simply on previous development, but builds on it. You get to know little quirks about the main characters; you get to know what makes them tick. The characters also remain consistent throughout this. No one undergoes a miraculous personality change or physical change. I also appreciate how she develops her supporting characters. No one is simply a name on a piece of paper. They are all real people. Above all, I appreciate how we get to know a bunch more about Andre, our knight in shining armour, here. It fills in some gaps not online in this series, but also in Bound and Freed.

Overall this was a brilliant end to Carmen’s time in New York. The author kept me captivated from the beginning to the very end, tying up any loose ends and giving everything a sense of completion. Though I’d love to continue the journey with these very amazing and creative individuals, I don’t feel like I’m missing anything by walking away from them now.

Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This was my least favorite of the three. If I'm being honest, the first one was my favorite, and that one was free. I think my biggest problem with it is that -- and maybe this is a result of reading the three of them virtually back to back -- if I read one more time how well trained a sub Carmen was or about how Kurt was the best man in the world or about his long blonde hair and green eyes... it was just mentioned over and over. I don't recall the other two having copyediting issues, but this one misused a couple of words, issues with possessives and some punctuation things. Well, there were a couple of minor word misuses in the other two, but that was it. And they didn't pull me out of the story enough for me to think it warranted a note about it.

I was glad to see how Carmen worked through her experience. I thought both Kurt and Carmen were very brave to watch the video together. I thought Carmen was brave to face the things Robert had done to her but with the aim of turning them into the pleasurable experiences they should have been instead of the terror-inducing events they had been. I thought how Carmen helped Laura was incredibly giving, considering she was the ex that had kinda screwed up Kurt's life. Granted, it was that screw up that had brought Carmen and Kurt together. And I was glad to see what Huber did with the money. I still don't know why Kurt handed it over with no questions asked. A nice HEA... it just took me a bit to get there with this one... Unlike the other two, there just didn't seem to be anything pulling me to the end of the book.

My review is for the entire trilogy, I'm just to lazy to write a review for each book. I enjoyed the series as a whole. Then why 3 stars - we'll for me one sex scene is just like the next, so as you can image I literally skimmed through a good 15-20 pages. The meat of the story was really really good, sad at times but still good. And it's not that I'm an up-tight person that can't enjoy a good steamy book but after so much I just wanted to just get back to the story. Oh the first book is free on amazon or it was, it might not be when you read this, but be warned once you read it you'll be sucked into Carmen's story. I immediately bought the boxed set for $3.99 or $4.99 after finishing book 1 and it was definately worth it.

Kurt and Carmen are totally into each other. Carmen goes to meet Laura, Kurt's ex-girlfriend, in the hospital. they have a nice talk & Laura agrees that she wants to come clean and give the new york papers the correct information about her and Kurt's relationship.
After speaking with the DEA about the ledgers Robert Ellis kept, they started to look into bringing him & others down. Kurt took Carmen to meet André. Through a re enactment of what happened with Robert, she was able to endure the cross & the whip. In the end, Carmen and Kurt get married.

It's my favorite book of the trilogy. Or to be more accurate the one that I liked more but still didn't make it to my to-read-again list because there is no way I am going to read these books again. This time I felt as if the book and I were heading somewhere and the book has a purpose. And it actually did. Carmen had to get over her past and live her HEA with Kurt, Robert Ellis had to get caught and we had to get a menage a trois because the author promised it to us. The menage wasn't something special and I didn't liked it :( . I wasn't expecting to like the book but I am happy that I did.

I loved this whole set!!

Kurt and Carmen were wonderful together.I couldnt put the books down (kindle) till I finished.

I am not much of a reviewer but if you like sex in your books,a lady in distress and a sexy, handsome man to the rescue than these are for you.

You'll love the set....I think they come out soon in 1 set instead of 3 individuals.

This is the third and final book in this trilogy of stories about Carmen and Kurt. This author is new to me and I find that both of her book series' I have read appeal to me greatly. She has a no nonsense, matter of fact way of writing that appeals and is easy to read. Her stories fill a need in me that I have found late in life. I love reading about BDSM. At my age, in my 70s, I'm not likely to start, but clearly I enjoy reading this subject matter. In my review of the 2nd book, I stated that I fervently hoped her pseudo "Master" torturer, Robert Ellis, would get his just desserts. He did. Wonderful read, great stuff for my fantasy life, well written, and very sexy. What more could a girl want?

Ugh, this book just dragged. I wanted to find out about her past and what was going to happen with Carmen’s ex, and found myself skipping the sex scenes. I get it, she likes submitting to Kurt. Normally I really like Nikki’s books, but there was just something rushed with these two characters, I didn’t feel as invested in their story as I have most of her other characters.

Fun conclusion for the trilogy. Andre seems like he would be fun and I can see all the respect that Kurt has for him. Kind of wish there would have been more info throughout. It just seems like the story had so much more there just not in print.

There was no lack of erotic moments or Dom/sub moments. There was no lack of intrigue or humor. Yes, there was a great deal of humor in this third and last part of the Carmen/Kurt trilogy. Some of the humor was genuine and intentional on the author's part. Some was just blatant laughter on behalf of this reviewer in disbelief. Of course the new lover of the most eligible bachelor, a woman who has become mixed up in the business of the Mexican mafia and who is a source for federal agents, who survived extreme physical and emotional abuse at the hands of a horrific Dom, is able to convince the former girlfriend of her lover to clear his name as not being a woman beater but was in fact involved in a consensual sexual relationship with her and that her suicide attempt was not his fault. Of course she easily becomes friends with the former girlfriend not to mention his sister. If I found the depravity of Robert in book 2 to be difficult to read, I found all of the ways that everything fell so smoothly into place in book 3 to be too unbelievable. Perhaps it is because I personally do not live in a world where money can pave ones way. But I do know that the snippet of a description of the hospital scene has a true sense of the unbelievable. Security in any New York City hospital is not as lax as was inferred. But that is where the author's fictional creativity obviously came into play.

I understand that the author felt a need to make Kurt into this gorgeous male figure who sweeps women off their feet. But I know that a man's height or musculature does not make him a man. At the end of the day, a man who is lacking in height may be the most appealing man in one's life. There is something to be said for the beauty of personality. I don't think it was that important to the storyline to keep emphasizing Kurt's looks. His character and strength of person meant more to Carmen's story.

There was so much lead in to desensitizing Carmen to the damage done to her by Robert, her abusive Dom. It was mentioned in baby steps all through the book. By the time the scene with Andre happens expectations are so very high. But there was very little exploration of Andre and his role with Carmen and Kurt. Instead there was a lot of inference and little details given about his experiences with Kurt. I think that Andre could have been a larger part of this last part of the trilogy. He might have been able to equalize Carmen's history to her present situation with Kurt.

A spectacular sex life, where there is freedom to explore desires and each person is able to live out fantasies without fear of reprisal is a wonderful thing. I do believe that when two adults agree to explore the kinkier side of sex, that when both adults are safe and when there is pleasure for both then there is no right or wrong. As a feminist, a mother and just as a woman, I am the first to be firm that any situation where a woman is in danger or is being forced against her will to submit to a man then that situation is a punishable offense. But when two adults find passion the options are endless and where they can go together is home. a word that does not mean a house but a common feeling. Making love means exploring the physical as well as the psyche. The collective is what makes Carmen and Kurt a couple.

From Tragedy ... To Love! BDSM Erotic Romance Trilogy for 18+ Adults only! Book 3 starts up right where book 2 ended. However if you do read them months apart there is enough of a reminder about the previous books to keep you remembering what happened. Now that the mess with the DEA has been cleared up it is time to go to Kurt's home. She sister comes over to take Carmen shopping while he is at work. Instead Carmen visits Kurt's ex-girlfriend who has been giving him trouble. Miracle worker she is, she fixes the situation for all involved! Then it is time to meet Andre - who helps Carmen work out most all of her guilt over what happened. Only problem, Robert is still alive and has found her... but the DEA helps take care of that too! You may be surprised how they solved Carmen's problem with Robert.

Favorite passage: "I've been on my own for so long, Kurt," Carmen said. "Just surviving. Reliant on myself, and not needing anyone, or even anything. I just wanted to complete my degree. That was my focus. When that was taken away from me... when everything was taken away, I was so lost." Kurt's strong arms squeezed her sympathetically. "Now I feel like a piece of driftwood in the ocean, Kurt, and your the shore," she said. "I want to cling to the one bit of safety and stability I have ever known. Is that wrong? Is that love?" She stifled a sudden insane compulsion to laugh hysterically. "Am I losing my mind?"

I just finished this final OK instalment of this trilogy. The relationship between Carmen and Kurt was absolutely lovely, they both fell hard and fast for each other.

Finding each other at the right time when they needed each other. Carmen had escaped from an evil tyrant. He had her captured and shackled, after her escape she went from job to job. Kurt had his own run of bad luck, so his friends buy him a call girl in a bid to help him get over his problems.

That's when they met, Carmen was working as a maid in a hotel, Kurt was expecting a call girl in hi us room, there starts a night of unadulterated passion, she flees from the room, sand Kurt, for fear of getting caught by her ex.

Eventually Kurt is contacted by Carmen, where they rekindle their hot passion filled encounter, The police catch up with Carmen, who are hell bent on capturing her ex, and need Carmen's help.

She gets the help, and the boy! Kurt also helps her overcome her fears from being captured.

We finally learn that the ex, who had tried to find her, meets an untimely end, releasing her from the hell that she had been in.

We end the story with the best happy ending. They had an amazing wedding.

The final book in Carmen's New York trilogy. All story lines were nicely wrapped up, with some new twists thrown in as well. It was great to see Kurt help Carmen overcome her fears from the abusive d/s relationship she had with Robert in the past, with a little help from Andre, Kurt's friend and master dom. Whilst I still enjoyed it, and will continue to read more of Nikki's books, this was my least favourite of the three books, I kept putting it down and coming back to it later, which I didn't with the other two. Recommended hot read though.

Last and final installment of Carmen's New York Trilogy. I enjoyed all 3 books. They all showed how courageous Carmen is after what she went through with Robert Ellis. In this book, she gets to meet Andre'. Who doesn't love Andre' He keeps popping up in Nikki's books and I love him as a teacher. Another great series. I give this book 5 stars.

Here we get to see how it all ends. We meet up with Andre' from Nikki's other books and we get to explore BDSM a little more. It is fun to watch their love for each other develop and grow while Kurt helps Carmen to heal and move past her tragic history. I was happy with the series and overall enjoy Nikki's work.
Remember these aren't for the faint of heart but totally worth it!!!

Great ending to this story! Like I mentioned before Nikki Sex's writing is vivid and captivating. I loved that this story was fast paced and wasn't drawn out. It had a lot of suspense and of course steamy sex! I am glad it ended the way it did and glad that Robert got what he deserved and agent Huber redeemed himself. Will definitely be reading more from this author:)

Holy hot sex on a stick!!! Not for the weak by any means. Unless you need to unleash something. Wow. This book was so awesome. This was the best. Usually it is the first in the series, but these just continued to grow each time. And Agent Huber, all I can say is, God bless him.

OMG What a lot of sex!!! What a great set of books. All 3 books are great. The story was in the back ground of the book and the sex was at the front.
