Miss Clio Evans really said Copy and Paste. The first book and this one both follow the exact same format and plot with only different characters and steamy scenes. I was expecting something a little more original and am worried that the rest of the series is going to be the exact same. The saving grace of the unoriginal plot is the spice; Miss Clio knows how to write steamy scenes and they are abundant throughout the whole book.

I waited forever for this second book and I was....a bit disappointed? The first book was such an awakening for me. I had never enjoyed a reverse harem as much as I did that one. The characters interacted in such an interesting way and the conflicts (internal and external) were so juicy I couldn't stop reading. If anything I was mad it wasn't longer.
This book on the other hand felt so awkward. The premise was flimsy and the characters felt like cardboard cutouts.
Do you mean to tell me she was trapped in a house of 10 years and was YEARNING to leave only to find out it was a lie but still get together with the guy that lied to her in less than 200 pages? not to mention that demigod bullshit I couldn't bring myself to care about that took like half the book.
Like I could believe their story was feasible ( Luca, Ian and Serena) but the plotlines and timeline just weren't believable. I wanted more depth and conviction behind the characters' actions.

Killers and Monsters is the second instalment in the Three Fates Mafia series although it can be read alone. It's a spicy monster romance with a M/M, M/F, and M/M/F pairing.

PLOT
Let's be honest: there's no actual plot. If it would be a fanfiction on AO3, it would have the tag "porn without plot" because the main aspect of the book is the sex scenes. There's a bare minimum of plot into which the romance/the sex is nestled into. Serena is the niece of a mafia boss and gets married to another mafia boss - Ian, the Dragon - when she's barely 18 years old, which results in her moving from Italy to California where she lives in a remote castle/villa with her personal bodyguard, Luca, and several other guards hired by Ian. In all those years, she sees her husband only twice, which in her opinion, is twice too much. In her opinion, he's a monster, so when she receives news that he plans to visit her, she snaps. Luca and her plan to kill Ian but they never receive the chance as dark secrets start to appear and Serena realises: her husband isn't as horrible as she thought he would be.
WORLD-BUILDING & MAGIC
There's not much concerning the world-building. It plays on our planet in somewhat modern times (there's no mention of a year) but it incorporates mafia elements and Ancient Greek mythology in the form of Gods, demi-gods, monsters, and the three fates. There's no actual magic but the demi-gods have powers granted by their godly parent, so it can be considered as a type of magic. The entire book plays in a fictional city in California (USA) but there are references to other countries (e.g., Italy) but everything is very superficial.
CHARACTERS
The main characters are Serena, Luca and Ian. There are a few other characters who either appeared in the first novel or will appear in the following books. It is known that Ian is a monster, an actual dragon, while Serena and Luca consider themselves as humans until the truth comes out and it is revealed that Serena is a demi-god.
Serena is "a princess/a queen" and acts like a spoiled child all the time despite being considered as tough and deadly. Of course, she's also utterly beautiful. Luca is so angsty - emo teenagers have nothing on him - with his "my darkness will push her away". He's utterly obsessed with Serena, extremely possessive and brutal. Ian is the only one who has a functional brain cell and uses it occasionally. He's considered as brutal and arrogant as well but he's rather soft towards Serena (and Luca). There's not much depth to any character and some of their actions lack conviction as well. As for their sexualities: Serena is straight, Ian and Luca are bi-/pansexual.
ROMANCE
Insta-lust, obsession, insta-love, and insta-forgiveness. The author gets partly away with it by making all Serena and Luca mates to Ian, and with each other despite being not monsters, but the insta-forgiveness is my pet peeve (e.g., Serena thought that Ian forbid her from leaving the villa for 10 years when it had been Luca who kept her captive there). Their relationship is so utterly toxic (especially the one between Serena/Luca and Luca/Ian) as it's built on obsession, stalking, tons of lies and blackmail. There's also the fact that Luca met Serena as a child, saved her in some alley, and became already smitten with her there. I know that the author wanted to highlight that she's his first love but he's a few years older than her and it has soft grooming/paedophilia vibes to me. While Ian demanded Serena as his "price" when she was just 17 years old while he is an ancient dragon, so there's also paedophilia there. Plus, he dreamed of her as an adult as soon as she was born.
It is a polyamorous romance as all three are in a relationship with each other. It starts as Serena/Ian and Serena/Luca, with Ian/Luca on the side, but evolves quickly into all three being together as they each Ian's mates (and Serena/Luca become mates as well).
As for the sex, I would give it 4 🌶️. It's very graphic and very sexual from the start (although the actual sex scenes happen after a few chapters). If you are into it: two dragon cocks, double penetration (vaginal, anal), threesomes, BDSM moments, actual monster sex (as in Ian in his half-dragon and full-dragon forms), choking, non-consensual voyeurism, degradation play, mating bites, masturbation, breeding kink, Dom/Sub. This princess did not need saving. And she’s not a princess she’s a queen thank you very much. Clio can do no wrong in my eyes and let me tell you. LET ME TELL YOU!! I asked for double d and c pocket and DP and boy did I get it. I love how unabashedly monstrous and murdery Ian, Luca and Serena are. You need something done? It gets done. I love a powerful mafia mommy. If you’re looking for a fast paced mafia story with gods, monsters and a tale of the dragon, the knight and the princess in the tower with all the spice then look no further! 5/5 would recommend, read again and purchase a physical copy.

If there's a dragon, then it's a great story.
Aaah, dragon, mafia queen and stalker bodyguard come and c*m together in this second book.
This one was a bit more angsty than the first. The many lies that kept the three of them apart where slowly solved and little by little the three MC came together.
Serena was feisty and angry and powerful even after living isolated. I love she got to display her anger and bad*ssness. It was fitting who hrr father was.
I needed more from the relationship between Ian and Luca, but I'm glad they loved eachother in the end.
So many pe*ns...
The conflict continues to develop and it was great to see Ashley and her dogs again. The Fates are being mysterious and I want to know more!
I need Madeline's story now :)

We're in book two of the Three Fates Mafia series, but I feel like you could easily read this as a stand-alone if you wanted to (But really, why would you??)
I adored all three of our MCs! Selena's character arc from a timid woman who's forced into a marriage she doesn't want to a badass mafia queen was PERFECTION. Ian was such a breath of fresh air too. It's not lost on me that the monster of this story was actually the least monstrous of them. I adored him from the start and never turned back. And I absolutely adored Luca's emotional journey throughout this book (even if he was utterly unlikeable at first). All of the characters really worked best when they were together too, and I feel like that's what makes this book so amazing. I loved their love story!
And the mafia vibes were immaculate. I think it's really easy to stray into cheesy territory with mafia romances, but Clio hit such an amazing balance with it. Ironically, I thought the first half of this navigated it better than the second half which is the part that actually takes place in Morai with the other mafia branches...It had a lot of wonderful buildup with just a decent resolution. It felt slightly rushed, and I'm still not clear on how/why some things happened. But with the romance actually having some depth, a rushed ending really couldn't take away from the overall enjoyment of this book.
This was thoroughly enjoyable, hot as hell, and has me so excited to read more from this series - Definitely recommend!

Mythology monsters mafia and a throuple. Sign me up. When I pick up a monster romance, I am often disappointed with the lack of appropriate use of unusual anatomy. If there are two cocks, I need the author to use those cocks not just have them hanging about. If a hero has a monstrous form, I’m going to need the sex to occur in that form as well. Don’t tell me they have a forked tongue and not show how they use it.
This author understands the promise of the premise. There is no checkov’s extra cock here.
I picked this book up on stuff your kindle day for free and am I glad I did. I loved this entire book. It has mythology, the mafia, shifters, and a lot of sex. If you often write reviews stating that a book has too much sex, this book is not for you. If you think that the mafia shouldn’t mix with mythology, than this book is not for you. But if you are searching for a dragon with 2 cocks that he uses at the same time, welcome.
I am excited to check out this authors backlist.

Over all I’m just disappointed, I was intrigued with the idea of the og story “princess stolen by the dragon and rescued by a knight in shining armour” but in Modern World and they all actually end up together.
Only to be met with, a girl who has no idea what she’s talking about and forgets she mad because’OH A PENIS!! Yum yum!!’, a guy who’s so icky it’s actually a crime, like he’s just terrible, so fucking terrible and a man who gives off the vibe he has a podcast about being a high value man 🤢 just too into being “dominant manly man”
See if your book has a sex scene in nearly every chapter and it just starts up in the most random way. Maybe try adding them GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER!!!!!! Literally strangers

This was... something. I really enjoyed the first book, but this one was a bit like pulling teeth to get through. The storyline was very close to the first one and followed the same formula. Sometimes I don't mind that, but this one just felt... so flimsy? The motivations of our characters felt quite shallow.
The spice was often good and sometimes lackluster- I gave this three stars originally, but the more I thought about it the more I picked it apart. I just plain didn't have fun with this book like I did the first.
Still gonna read the next one though.

Great addition to this series. Serena was the right amount of kickass and forgiving. Luca was a nutter but hard not to like him at the end of it all and Ian really was a DILF! To be fair Ian was my favourite and felt the most emotionally stable out of all three.
Clio Evans does good steam and this was no exception. Looking forward to book 3 and really looking forward to Medusa's story.

I liked the Princess/Maiden (or in Serena's case - Queen), the Knight and the Dragon aspect. Loved the character art.
I wasn't such a great fan of the pacing as I lost interest while reading then came back to eventually finish the book because I was too far in. Then the Mafia+paranormal aspect in the book just isn't meshing well. It feels more like when they're outside, Mafia, when they're in the bedroom, paranormal. It wasn't cohesive. It was more like two genres running parallel than one cohesive book.
I loved the underlying bad guy plot and the fact that when Luca, Ian and Serena decided to finally be 100% open, that's when they finally started connecting the dots on what was going on. The smut wasn't bad, but again I didn't really feel it. Oh, just remembered I got pissed off that Luca was verbally I-don't-want-you to Ian for so long, then all of a sudden they are meant to have chemistry. He denied it for so long that in my head he basically accepted Ian coz Serena finally did.
I would have loved to perhaps go on with Medusa's story, but I may not be continuing with this series.
I wasn't such a great fan of the pacing as I lost interest while reading then came back to eventually finish the book because I was too far in. Then the Mafia+paranormal aspect in the book just isn't meshing well. It feels more like when they're outside, Mafia, when they're in the bedroom, paranormal. It wasn't cohesive. It was more like two genres running parallel than one cohesive book.

The set up for this book was delicious - hot bodyguard, hot estranged husband, and a princesssick of them both ready to come into her demi-god self! While the series overall isn't a knock out, theres lots of little details I enjoy that keep me coming back.
A highlight for me was was the hate/love banter between Luca and Ian, some of their moments had me grinning and definitely elevated the trio dynamic.
I'll definitely read Queens and Monsters - have you SEEN that cover? *heart eyes*

I also kinda felt like this was low stakes, especially after reading Thieves and Monsters; I was defo able to see where the plot was going hence 4 instead of 5 stars 👅

Like the first book in this dark monster romance series, this was really hot. Also like the first book, the plot went off the rails after the first half and the relational arcs weren’t convincing due to instalove immediately forgiving all sins. In this case, that included Luca Not to mention how obsessed he was with her, in the darkest sense. He never makes up for his transgressions! If ever an MMC needed to grovel, it was him. I love a good triad but Serena and Ian should have ditched Luca after their threesome. They would have been better off with out him.

I enjoyed the overall plot, and the characters, the spice was grand, and the bits of murder were nice as well. I still do not know how Ian and Luca kept themselves from having Serena all that time. She is such a spitfire, I wouldn’t of kept my hands to myself.
It was a joy, to see how Ian and Luca fell in love, and obsessed and loved Serena all the while. The sex scenes were, chefs kiss.
Clio never disappoints with their books. I am going to keep this review VERY short, cause I am gonna spoil the heck out of it otherwise. lol
