This wasn’t the normal Fae. What could he do? What would he do? There was nowhere to hide. “I’m coming for you, mate,” he whispered so low she thought she’d misheard. “You belong to me.”
Nena Larone, the rightful Queen of the Fae, has been in hiding her entire life, but a new foe is on the horizon. A king with a wicked smile, more power than she imagined, and a beast inside hunts her. She wants nothing to do with the Fae after their treachery, but destiny has other plans. Can she outwit him when he shatters her walls one by one? Can she resist when she learns the king carries the Spirit of the Fae inside, an entity, who claims her as mate as well?
King Tristan is determined to claim his fated mate and return her to the Fae throne at his side. Nena proves a master at deception and has more magic than he imagined. Secrets haunt her steps, and danger surrounds her. He’s the only one who can protect her, but will she allow him?
Forced to fight for one another, Tristan and Nena battle witches and treachery in this fast-paced, steamy, urban fantasy romance. If you love magical worlds, heat, and a morally grey hero, read House of Fae, the first book in the Kings & Queens series.
TW: This book contains a polyamory scene between the king, the queen, and the Spirit of the Fae. #urbanfantasyromance #morallygrey #polyamory #faeromance

FROM THE AUTHOR
I like it hot, so expect graphic intimacy along with a great story. Sometimes, I ride the darker edge...lol, and I tend to story tell at a fast pace. My books are designed for adult romance readers who like naughty, sexy, alpha heroes, and my books come in different lengths.
House of Fae Kings and Queens #1 Fantasy Kristal Harris ⭐️⭐️.5
I expected more from this book but instead there was a lot of insta lust and barely any actual plot.
I didn't like how Tristan used his magic to make Nena sleep and then touched her inappropriately, knowing that she didn't want it. He didn't seem to care that she's been on the run for 20 years because her parents were murdered by his father. He only cares that they're mates and he wants her.
The pacing was ok. It felt like certain scenes were thrown in just to add to the word count.
The writing style was ok but there were odd word choices here and there.
I don't think I'll read any other books by this author.
Ms. Harris is a master at paranormal This has everything you want in a prn romance Destined mates He falls first Tension and banter Tummy tugs and spice
This is just the start. Tristan is the king of the Fae after he killed his father the evil King. And Nena is part Fae and put something else they think human but she has magic a lot of magic and there's soulmates. But she has to learn to trust him this is a pretty awesome story can't wait for the next book.
A great fast-paced fantasy with a hunt of danger and plenty of spice! I enjoyed this fae story that was full of all kinds of creatures! I can’t wait to hear the other characters stories as well.
Nena and Tristan were wonderful together. I enjoyed the balance they had and how understanding and supportive Tristan was.
Lots of great tropes were in here; enemies to lovers, fated mates, fae, magic, secrets, tragic past, steamy, and more!
Eeewwwww! Consent much?! She just meets you, says she doesn’t trust you (valid reason as your father killed her parents and hunted her for 20 years), so your immediate reaction is to command her to sleep with magic, strip her, and finger bang her?! Just because you didn’t dip your wick does not mean that is ok. Got 17% in and I am DONE. Hate this guy
This story is instantly intriguing and it grabbed my attention from start to finish!!! I couldn’t put it down! It’s a fast read and i highly recommend it for those fast readers looking to spend a few hours in this beautiful story!
I loved the medium-burn romance and the awesome chemistry! The scenes between them were so swoon-worthy i kept smiling from ear to ear!
It’s hard to believe how much information/plot was cramped in this book for a standalone, i thought it was well executed until the last few pages where it felt like a-lot but still well done!!!
The side characters were also fun to read and i cant wait to read the next book! LOVED it!!❤️
Story flowed front start to finish. Could not put down until over. And I had stuff to do. Lol. It was not to long nor to short and it made me smile, a lot. Now going to read the rest of this series.
The MMC is a stalker who SAs the FMC in her sleep and negs her while she’s awake, orchestrated his abusive and murderous father’s assassination, and totally forgot to introduce his sister and friends to his mate, forcing them to randomly appear and introduce themselves to her at plot-relevant times. The FMC is a Mary-Sue, the “true queen of the fae” because her father abdicated the throne before the MMC’s father took power, she has extra-special magic because of her mother’s secret heritage, and in addition to being a master of disguise who can create glamour to fool a fae, she is also a badass motorcycle-riding fifty-year-old virgin who has lived her life on the run and knows how to kill with her bare hands. The goddess Danu personally shows up to their wedding to give the FMC a sick dress and perform their handfasting.
The entire plot is so stupid and rushed. Fated mates, pregnancy trope. Horrible dialogue. Awkward sex scenes. Villains give a villain story while torturing the MMC. Bleck. I hated every minute of this book.
This was a random quick read I came across and it does have potential IF it was longer and had more world building. There was no introduction into Tristan and Nena’s story. It just starts randomly where she’s running and he’s chasing. The relationship was super insta-Iove for a MMC whose father murdered the FMC’s parents. There wasn’t much of a “fight,” even though I know there were fated mates. She gave in almost instantly and the short book spanned over about 3 months and by the end they got married and were accidentally expecting a child? WILD The writing was okay. There were many points where the word choices didn’t make sense to me. Many aspects weren’t really explained enough to understand and was just brushed over. I still enjoyed the book.

2 & 1/2 stars This was ok, there were some things that weren’t ok from my opinion, and there’s not a lot of world building or character development. I really didn’t feel like I got to know the characters. I skimmed thru the sex scenes, as they just didn’t feel intriguing or right -since the characters didn’t really feel connected as fated mates or whatever though they were said to be. I’d say the whole thing read like a novella, which I normally avoid, but it says 181 pages on Amazon. So something went wrong somewhere for it to feel like a novella which are usually around 100 pages (give or take). I definitely will not continue with this series.
Oh I wanted to love this. I enjoyed the premise but the writing was too choppy and simplistic. The dialogue felt random without details and description. On top of that the story just starts in the middle with no real clarifications. Now usually I can turn my brain off and enjoy the ride, but {small spoiler} WHAT KIND OF MATE DOESN’T CARE THAT SOMEONE BRANDED HIS MATE?!? Also, the fey spirit stuff (tho 🥵) just came out of no where.
Maybe I was wanting a possessive and murderous MMC, I’m not sure. Sad bc the premise is my fav kind of trope.
I loved it, it was short, sweet and spicy! It was sort of enemies to lovers but at the same time it wasn’t. It kept my attention the whole time and I finished it very quickly! I honestly did not suspect the plot twist, I knew she was something else but didn’t expect what it was. It kept me on my toes with the fast pace and spice. It was just very enjoyable and I loved how independent and strong the Nena was and how sweet and supportive Tristen was from the beginning!
So it’s a relatively short read that will keep your interested. What I loved ❤️❤️: HEA, sexy MMC, strong FMC, good story line. I do wish the falling for one another was drawn out a bit more. The story in general felt rushed. I wish the ending would have shown a little more into the life of the two since they are not the focus of book 2. It was cute and well worth the few hours to read, but it could of been a bit better.
I enjoy the idea of this story, but it is lacking so much development. So many story lines were rushed and needed more of a moment to make this book more comprehensive. I almost feel like I just read several short stories instead of 1 book.
I've read the series. They are all good with different levels of heat. These are not epic fantasy, but urban fantasy and paranormal romances. If you like adventure, heat, and magic, you'll love the series.
Fantastic start to what will no doubt be a wonderful series. A rich plot, nicely detailed, and hot, hot romance. What more could a reader ask for? Looking forward to each book!
Very good. The heroine is half Fae and half something else. And the new king...hot. This series moves the reader between the human world and the Fae world, so definitely urban fantasy. I've read some of this author's previous works, and I'm impressed with these books. House of Fae goes fast, so if you're hoping for high fantasy, this book isn't it, but if you love worldbuilding and semi-complicated plots with hot men, read them. The last intimate scene...wow. I didn't expect it, but found it tastefully done. This was the first book in the series.
