This was a very fun, entertaining read. The characters are interesting. Charlotte is a strong lead who is intelligent, capable, but also petulant and impatient at times. It made me like her more though. The romance aspects have believable reasons for the tensions and restraint. And Cosmo is a very lovable character.

The mystery of the soul-eater is fascinating, and though I was fairly sure I'd solved it pretty quickly it was still fun to follow. It had a few aspects I hadn't seen but in hindsight it all came together.

I bought the Kindle version and there were a fair number of typos, so be aware if that bothers you.
Edit: I have been notified that the kindle typos have been fixed! So buy away and enjoy :)

The trigger warnings are right at the front: "mild language and some depictions of fantasy violence, murder, and sensuality."

I broke my rule of starting a series before it is finished with this one, but it was well worth it. I look forward to another!
