After reading the synopsis, I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the novel itself. It isn’t my usual cup of tea, so to speak, but I couldn’t help but enjoy it. I read it in an afternoon. If that doesn’t say anything about the whole experience, I don’t know what does.
The most interesting thing that really drove the novel was seeing how far somebody would go to mold the world into what they think it should be and what effect that has on everybody else. You would think that children are covered by innocence, but they can be plotting and devious as the rest of us.
The problem I had was the romance subplot. It got a bit repetitive in the beginning, but as the plot moved on and more explanation was put into it, it wasn’t bad. It still broke up the court scenes toward the end of the book, but it added some character development and a rise of more tension toward the court scenes so it was alright.
In the end, I would recommend this book to all those who watch similar shows to C.S.I. and mystery novels in general.
