I bought this to read to my baby. She's only 2 months old at the moment, so obviously doesn't understand the story... but she is absolutely captivated by the pictures. The artwork is what really makes this book stand out. Apparently it was done by a teenager who lives in Tennessee, which makes it even more awesome. The art is definitely whimsical. The story doesn't make much sense, but that doesn't matter to a baby. The song in the middle is pretty neat, too, when reading to a baby as my baby loves when I sing that part to her. Probably not a great book for older children, but definitely a good book to read to babies and toddlers. This one is our favorite. :)

My 19- month- old daughter enjoyed looking at the pictures, but the book made no sense. It's supposed to be a whimsical story about a dog who falls in love with another dog, but the nicely rhyming text breaks into the "Bicycle Built For Two" song right in the middle. Then it goes back to the rhythmical, rhyming text for a couple more pages to end the story. It's just weird. Both of us were completely over this dog by the time we got to the last page.
