This is a great book for kids who enjoy mystery, action, animals or just enjoy reading. The characters are relatable with a storyline that keeps moving. The character’s interactions with each other adds depth to the story and has the reader become invested in them. I don’t want to give anything away so I’m not going into the plot. You will not be disappointed in this read. I can’t wait to add it to my classroom library! I also can’t wait for book 2.

This week I read Aunt Claire’s Secret by Katie Evan with the @middlegradegroupies. This is an adorable fantasy book. Two sisters, Isabel and Maya, are forced to work together. Each sister has a different talent that helps them take on the evil Dr. Rodriguez after he stole Aunt Claire’s research and her animals and then kidnapped Aunt Claire. What I think kids will like about this book📒:

This is a great book for kids who enjoy science, mystery, and animals. Kids will be able to make connections with characters of the story, adding depth and capturing the reader’s interest! As a teacher from Toronto, Ontario - I feel that Grade 6 curriculum would tie in with this book! Ideal for class read aloud, so that the teacher could pique student interest in science around topic of GMOs and class discussions around it. Can’t wait to read book 2!

This was such a fun read! Sisters Izzy and Maya explore their Aunt Claire's veterinary lab and find out she's hiding a secret experiment! They're not the only ones who find out, and Aunt Claire and the animals are kidnapped! The two sisters have to work together to save their aunt and keep her experiment from falling into the wrong hands. This book is filled with mystery, fun, suspense, science, and loveable animals and characters! It's the first in a trilogy.

Thank you for the early reviewers copy. I really enjoyed this book much more than I was expecting to. It started out as a regular kids book but quickly becomes a super suspenseful book that people of all aged will be drawn into. I think it is aimed at ages 8-12. The constant chase scenes and suspense does get to be a bit much by the end. I grew to like all of the characters (especially the animals) and I can't wait until my children are old enough to read this book.
