“Oh for crying out loud SpongeBob! You didn’t get the job!” These words were said by Mr. Krabs in the beginning of the book that set up the entire journey.

The novelization of the SpongeBob Squarepants Movie is the peak, the epitome, of human evolution. It has a fantastic story with relatable characters.

This book was adapted by Marc Cerasini but was originally directed by Stephen Hillenburg.

This epic story that takes place in Bikini Bottom is about the antagonist, Plankton, unleashing his plan Z of world domination after being jealous of the Krusty Krabs 2 grand opening. Plankton steals the crown of King Neptune and frames Mr Krabs.

Now, it’s up to SpongeBob Squarepants and his trusty sidekick, Patrick Star, to get back the crown before Neptune kills Mr. Krabs.

Although it might seem like a joke, this book has an important lesson. Sometimes, personal relationships are more important than business relations. This is explored in the book when SpongeBob still wants to save Mr. Krabs despite him not giving SpongeBob the job. If this weren’t the case, SpongeBob would leave Mr. Krabs to die and not care about their personal friendship.

I’d recommend this book to anyone who doesn’t want a too serious book. I mean, it has perfect characters, story telling, pacing… Everything about this book is absolutely amazing. It’s also not the longest book, so I’d recommend it to you if you wanted a shorter story.

I enjoyed this book because it’s conflict is phenomenal. What I mean is that clearly, Mr Krabs doesn’t think SpongeBob is mature at all, so when Mr Krabs is about to die, SpongeBob is personally conflicted if he should save Mr. Krabs or leave him to die.
